Very tasty food and friendly service even late in the evening

Very tasty and plentiful! There were four of us there, and we each had the vegan platter for two, which was more than enough; we all walked out of the shop stuffed. Otherwise, the atmosphere was very relaxed, and the food was truly incredibly delicious. The injera, in particular, blew me away every time.

We ordered two vegetarian dishes and an appetizer. The appetizer was very small and flavorless. The main courses were nothing special, just a few baked potatoes, peppers, and carrots. The second course was pureed beans with tomatoes and feta. The food was disappointing; it could have been made quickly at home. The service was friendly and attentive :)

We found the food excellent. It was wonderfully seasoned, and the mixed platter for one person, including the prawns, was perfectly sufficient for two. You'll need to bring your time, though, but everyone there was nice.

The food was pretty average but really expensive for that portion. It can easily be cooked at home, not something special. But it was at least very fast.

It's a good choice for people who are used to spicy food. Since we've never tried African cuisine before, this was our first attempt. I had lightly seared beef (they also offer it raw). Unfortunately, the searing was almost unnoticeable. It would also be advisable to use very sharp knives 🔪 with this dish, as the pieces of meat are very difficult to cut. My wife ordered a mixed dish. The taste was good for her, but, as mentioned, it was really spicy in places. The restaurant itself is very nice and inviting. The service is very friendly and pleasant, but not intrusive. When it comes to the food, I can only speak for ourselves and not for others 😉. Conclusion: We tried it once, but we'll probably leave it at that. Of course, we wish you continued success with your Mama Afrika 😁🌞

Today I tried Eritrean cuisine for the first time and I'm absolutely thrilled! The Maadi dish is available in a vegan or meat version, and both platters are pure flavor bombs, full of exciting and powerfully warm spices. The spiciness of some of the dishes on the platter is great if you like it spicy, but for some inexperienced diners, it might be a bit too fiery – you might want to check with the friendly waitress beforehand. (I found the spiciness to be great and well-suited to my taste :). Please don't hold it against me for the comparison, but if you like Indian food, for example, you should definitely check this out. Thank you for the friendly service, the great food, and the understanding of a whining toddler at the table!

Wonderfully seasoned, varied, and absolutely delicious. Mama Afrika made it straight into my top 5 restaurants, and I wholeheartedly recommend it! My omnivorous husband, I, a vegetarian (we shared the Massawa (shrimp in a fantastic spice mix), Maadi vegan platter, and the full) and our daughter (3 years old, dish: chicken nuggets) all thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Very generous portions. Pleasant atmosphere. Structural partitions in the main room create a sense of privacy and comfort. Attentive, friendly service.

Sehr gutes Essen und ein wunderbar aufmerksamer Service. Wir hatten die gemischte Platte mit Fleisch Nr20 und noch die Kichererbsen Shiro. Das war etwas zuviel, da hatte der Kellner recht. Es war alles so gut, daher haben wir uns die Resten einpacken lassen. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Such wegen der großen Auswahl an veganen Gerichten.

The food was delicious and the ambience was immaculate. I wanted to order another spicy bread with garlic and the man who served us warned us that there was a lot and it was very filling. That's why I didn't order the dish and it was really good because I ended up very full even without it and I was happy that the waiter had warned us. It's rare to find such honesty. I will definitely come again when I am in Kassel.

I have visited Mama Africa several times. The food is very tasty, the service is friendly & the people are very nice. It is one of the best Ethiopian restaurants I have tried in Germany. The taste reminds me of my childhood. I particularly like the Zigni & the Shiro. The mixed platter is also super tasty.

A really great restaurant. Stylishly furnished, but not overloaded, Almost all places are separated so that you have privacy. Conveniently located but little outside noise. I was at Bruch on Sunday, the scope was perhaps not as lavish as other buffets, but it was far more than sufficient. But what matters is the quality and originality of the food, and this was top! Great Mediterranean cuisine and some typical country specialties such as: Lentil dish or okra with bread. Since neither milk nor soy is used in almost all dishes, it is also suitable for vegans and allergy sufferers. The food here is truly worth a visit

We have always wanted to try African cuisine. We were made aware of it through Instagram. The welcome was nice and friendly. The menu was clear and appealing. We then decided on the platter, with different dishes and types of meat. Everything was very tasty. However, almost everything had a slight spiciness to it. If you don't like that, you should definitely clarify it beforehand. We will definitely come back again

I love eating here. Traditionally with your fingers or classic with cutlery, everything tastes good here. My favorite - definitely have the prawns as a starter. Super delicious! An all-round successful visit to the restaurant! The restaurant impresses with a clean and cozy ambience, which is underlined by atmospheric candlelights. The service is extremely friendly and attentive, which makes the stay very pleasant. The menu is clearly laid out without losing any of its variety. What is particularly positive is that no pork is served. Instead, there is a nice selection of beef, lamb, poultry and fish dishes, as well as a variety of vegan and vegetarian options. The preparation time of the dishes was completely reasonable and the food was served warm. The most important thing: The food was really delicious and impressed us in every way! The prices are fair and absolutely affordable. A small suggestion for improvement from us would be to add subtle local music in the background to make the experience even more authentic. Overall, however, we were more than satisfied and can warmly recommend this restaurant. A big compliment to the entire team – thumbs up and keep it up!

The worst meal I have ever ordered. First we waited two hours for the food to arrive. Then say the food looks like it came out of the microwave. Packet was sealed shut, fries totally wobbly and not crispy. Chicken nuggets were wobbly and not crispy... Fries weren't salted. Food was inedible. To then overcharge €10 for the meal was pure disgrace.
