Very tasty food, great service and the margheritas were the icing on the cake :-)

Nice little restaurant. Has a small selection of different burritos and tacos but everything we tried was fantastic! When one of the tacos was not available, an alternative was prepared and, as a gesture of goodwill, another one was given on the house. This is customer service! If you're coming in the evening, it's better to make a reservation as it's very busy.

Small but nice. For me, Maiz is the diamond of the Würzburg gastronomic scene. The quality of the food, the recipes of the individual dishes and the service are perfect! And this level has been constant for many years. Great!

The food tastes really great and is very authentically Mexican! The burrito was a great portion. A taco is more of a snack (if you're hungry, it's better to order 2 😁). Value for money is good, the staff is friendly and quick. The decor and vibe are hip, more of a snack bar with louder music than a cozy restaurant. We were very satisfied!

It was my first time in this restaurant and in short I thought it was ok. The prices are fair and I found a free refill of selected (fewer) drinks to be positive. About the burrito: I think €14 for the beef burrito (barbacoa burrito) is absolutely reasonable. The portion is good enough and it tasted good too. Regarding the chips with guacamole and salsa: I didn't try them myself, but they were rated as average by the other 3 people who were there. The staff is very friendly and attentive, great! The ambience is one of the biggest negative points for me. I miss the cozy atmosphere that I know from other “Mexicans”. All in all: you can definitely do it.

The reviews don't lie. The ownership is super courteous and on top of the quality of his product. The al pastor burrito was 🤌 and while I normally avoid frozen drinks the frozen margarita was a solid choice. Absolutely use the hot sauces in combination and enjoy the heat. This is worth a visit regardless of your culinary intentions on your visit to Weurtzburg.

Simple, cool place, lively and urban. Nice service and good atmosphere. The food tastes very good and is freshly prepared, you can watch it directly over the counter. The Frozen Magharita is fantastic, we often come by just because of that :D unfortunately it's difficult without a reservation, it's very popular and small. We actually never make reservations because we want to be more spontaneous, then you might not get a seat ;)

I typically find any Mexican or Tex-mex food in Germany very bad. This place was delicious even for American standards.

Unexpectedly good! I'm not a fan of Mexican cuisine, but I was really pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty, not too spicy and the service was friendly and attentive. It was a beautiful evening. By the way; the lemonades were great!

I DEVOURED them. So good. I was craving birria tacos actually, but there was none in town. But we got beef tacos, fish taco, sweet potato, and flauta de papa and the beef taco was absolutely amazing. Meat was juicy and satisfied my cravings. Staffs were also kind.

Fast, well organized and friendly service despite the number of guests. I didn't like the way the meal was presented: the burrito came wrapped in paper, the tacos, with the exception of one, were on thin paper and on a silver tray. When it was cut, the paper got into the food. The main courses tasted good to very good. Unfortunately, the guacamole was not well seasoned and anyone can make it better at home with the right recipe.

The food is very tasty, but the price is not worth it if you are very hungry if you only have a small budget... Overall, the place is quite small, rather cozy and obviously always well attended. Finding a place to eat here spontaneously is just a matter of luck. Staff is very friendly despite the large crowd... Definitely recommended for those who can afford it...

Do you know Hole in the Wall? This is one of those places. Small, intimate, all with you AND delicious! This is authentic Mexican. This was better than my own BECAUSE I didn't have to prepare it. Guys, a real treat. Nothing beats tacos al pastor or barbacoa. Direct hit. The burrito was also really enjoyed. Don't miss this. An absolute MUST! (Ask for the Habanero sauce...extra aromatic and very spicy.)

Perfect place to eat Mexican food. There homemade tortillas are so delicious. Small menu which is a joy. You can choose from taco el pastor to vegetarian sweet potato taco or burrito. The best thing is the margarita. Staff is super nice but make a reservation

Living in SoCal, I have to say these tacos are darn good. The place is located in the city center of the lovely Franconian Würzburg and should be a pitstop while visiting all the great sightseeing spots the city has to offer.

4th day in #würzburg. Today we had an absolute culinary highlight. We went to Maiz Taqueria and enjoyed tacos. Neither of us have ever tasted such delicious Mexican cuisine. It's an absolute taste explosion. Outstanding. #Food #Mexicancuisine The city guide of #dumont had this tip. If you like Mexican food, you should definitely go to this small, simple, inconspicuous restaurant when you are in Würzburg. You will not regret it. We are completely thrilled.

Authentic Tacos, the fish tacos and Al Pastor were incredible, absolutely recommend this place for very very authentic tacos and burritos. Refreshing from the normally bad Mexican (not) fare you get in Germany.

It used to be world class, but the portions have become smaller and the prices have risen. I would understand either, but both are a bit of a shame. The service has also slipped a bit.

For anyone who loves authentic South American food, this shop is a must. A small card, but a very selected card. We took food to go and both the food and the service were excellent. Only recommended.

You have to try these tacos. For me they are among the best I have eaten in Germany. After a short conversation with a waitress, it turned out that the chefs were from Mexico. You can definitely taste that here. Varied and relatively cheap for the quality and quantity of food. The Al Pastor was my favorite.

Authentic and absolutely delicious. The simple interior design puts you straight into the holiday mood.

Not sure how an authetic burrito tastes, but probably not bland. Overall good, filling, fast service, price-wise alright, but just not tasty enough in terms of spices or sauce. A little more salt or lime maybe. There's chili lime spice on the table and I have to put some good amount on the burrito so that it has a good taste, which is fine I guess.

Cool shop! Delicious and very good quality food. Fresh and not frozen goods! The menu is manageable but there is something for every taste. The service was very friendly and the order was quick. The seats are very limited, which is why a reservation is definitely recommended if you want to eat on site. Collection is also possible and I can recommend it. The prices are reasonable, I give the food one star less because the portion was actually a bit too small for me. It was delicious, I would like to say again. Ambience also four stars, because the seats are right next to the open kitchen and you can clearly hear the smell and noise of the kitchen. You just have to like the smell, the noises make it a bit uneasy when eating comfortably. Service 5/5 stars, friendly, fast, courteous and always attentive. Nevertheless, the store is a clear recommendation in Würzburg! Ps: the guacamole is a highlight!!

The best tacos and burritos we've ever eaten, really incredibly good. Not cheap, but definitely worth the price, we paid €57 for a total of 4 tacos and 2 burritos plus drinks and tip and we barely made it. For most people, 1 burrito or 2-3 tacos will be enough.

Always busy, and for good reason

The two of us were there yesterday in the early afternoon. For once there was really little going on. It was my second time there and I'm still thrilled. The food tastes really fantastic. The individual ingredients can be tasted and harmonize perfectly with each other. Highly recommended 👍

The Maiz surprised us very positively. The strawberry margarita was simply delicious. We also had a variety of sweet potato, pork and cod tacos. These were very fresh and tasty. We liked the cod taco best, but the composition of the additional salad we ordered was also really successful. In terms of furnishings, the Maiz is rather puristic and the wooden benches are of course not particularly comfortable - but that's just part of the overall flair.

Went there today spontaneously for a snack, the tacos were really delicious, the burrito was great too, the service was a dream, they explicitly pointed out coriander, not everyone likes it, all in all really highly recommended. Coming from the catering industry myself, you pay attention to the details, it was really great.

We were there spontaneously on Valentine's Day and got burritos and tortilla chips with guacamole to take away and they were really tasty and very filling!

Very tasty tacos, highly recommended. The burrito also tasted very fresh and good, and it was also filling. But it could have had a little more meat, but it was a little too expensive, but that is of course a matter of opinion. The service was extremely friendly! You also had a high chair. Also a clean toilet with nice doodles on the walls. :)

Simply the best burritos and tacos around for years. It hasn't been an insider tip for a long time, but who's surprised. ;.)

On Tuesday evening (8 p.m.) we went there (three of us) and we didn't know that at that time and on that day all the tables would either be occupied or reserved. No reservation, no problem, we then decided to order tacos and 3 sodas to go. After we paid, the waitress asked us to wait outside for our order, it was cold outside and we had to wait 15 minutes. We found this a bit unfriendly and inconsiderate as there was a large empty table at that moment (reserved of course). It would have been polite if we had been allowed to wait at this table. Of course we would have walked outside if the people from the reservation had come while we were waiting. Tacos were good, but it's definitely better if you eat them straight from the kitchen.

Best Mexican food. No pseudo-Mexican like other restaurants. Clear recommendation. Quality is also great :-)

I ate here for the first time today and was more than pleasantly surprised. The homemade lemonade and homemade iced tea were very refreshing and delicious. The tacos tasted excellent and were super fresh and juicy. The brownie at the end was extremely juicy and fluffy, simply perfect. Maiz is definitely my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Würzburg and the surrounding area

So I'm seriously wondering why this place is rated so well. The food was okay, but it didn't blow me away. And then there is the relationship between price and quantity. We weren't very hungry so we only had two tacos and a burrito. With one drink each we were at €30. A bit more expensive for these small portions in a slightly better “fast food restaurant”. The ambience wasn't very appealing either. The direct view into the kitchen, which looks pretty improvised and the floor is dirty. We definitely won't come again.

War wieder sehr lecker dort. Toller Beef burrito! Fish und pork taco auch sehr lecker, aber je über 4 € dafür ist schon preislich oben dabei für 3 Bissen. Die hausgemachte Lemonade sehr lecker. Die Gläser der Margaritas werden gefühlt immer kleiner, so kommt es mir zumindest vor und 8€ dafür sind auch schon nicht wenig. Da könnte man mal über eine Art refill Aktion nachdenken, z.b. 6€ für jeden weiteren im selben Glas. Ambiente ist gut, Service war etwas chaotisch und nicht so gut organisiert am Abend, aber war auch gut gefüllt.
