The schnitzel was of the lowest quality, tasteless; we found the meal on August 27th to be miserable. Simple fare at a high price. Value for money is definitely not right here.

After a beautiful hike, we ordered two salads and two coffees. We were very pleasantly surprised by the very fresh salad. The chicken strips were fresh from the grill, not added cold. The coffee was okay. Personally, I would have preferred a highland coffee. We'd go back.

Ready-made meals at high prices. The cheese spaetzle were ribbon noodles, and we weren't sure what kind of cheese sauce was on top. Unfortunately, it was very salty. The cake also strongly resembled a defrosted cake from the supermarket. The fries were average. All in all, a real shame. I also find the drink prices a bit steep: €4.70 for a Spezi.

Unfortunately, disappointing. We were at the Maisentalstube with three small children on a warm day and wanted to sit inside. Upon entering, we were met with a roll of eyes and a curt explanation that, in this weather, they were only serving outside. Shortly afterward, a second employee came out of the kitchen and simply asked, "What are you doing in here?" – without a friendly word or explanation. We felt uncomfortable and left immediately. It's a shame, as we were looking forward to a break, but unfortunately, we received a very unfriendly welcome.

A rustic restaurant serving Swabian food. We had schnitzel with fries, roast beef with onions, and spaetzle, both with salad. The food was very good and freshly prepared. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The spritzers were delicious. Parking is free for visitors, but only for the parking directly next to the building. Otherwise, you have to buy a day ticket. It costs €5 and is actually intended for the hike to the waterfalls. Food distribution is announced over the loudspeaker for each order, which I found a bit annoying after a while. Maybe I'm just being oversensitive. The visit is worth it.

After the very soothing hike around the waterfalls, we returned to the restaurant feeling quite hungry. The outdoor area was very large and comfortable. We were even able to sit with our dogs in the back on the grassy area. It's self-service. No sooner said than done. We immediately got two cold drinks, which was quick, and the beer was also delicious. Then we saw the delicious dishes being served by the guests and promptly placed our orders. We had schnitzel with spaetzle and schnitzel with fries, including a side salad. Now here's the thing: Unfortunately, in terms of price-performance, we have to give it a low rating. Because we wanted to order schnitzel with cheese spaetzle, we were rudely told that it wasn't possible, even though both are on the menu. We would have paid the extra, of course; it's really unacceptable to treat customers like that. On top of that, the schnitzels tasted of nothing. I've never had a schnitzel like that, even though it looked so good. The breading tasted of nothing. The meat tasted like nothing. I don't know what went wrong. The breading was just weird; the taste made it look like you were just eating dry breading 😌 This affected both schnitzels. The fries weren't crispy, rather greasy, but unlike the schnitzel, they had flavor. The salad was also delicious, and the dressing was also delicious. In summary, we wouldn't eat there again, but we would happily order a cold drink or two, as it was quick and, as I said, tasted very good. This was our first visit, and we only sat outside.

Unfortunately, the food was rather subpar... Cold potato salad from a 10-liter barrel. Green salad with mozzarella, no herbs, no tasty dressing. Even the fries were unfortunately dry. Unfortunately, they were also too expensive. A shame. Great location and friendliness!

If I could, I'd give it 6 stars. Despite the hustle and bustle outside, we were able to sit inside in the dining room, although that probably meant more work. The dining room is modern and comfortably furnished; you immediately feel at home. The food was prepared super quickly and is incredibly delicious. The portions are really generous for the price. Very friendly service. I highly recommend it.

A somewhat unloving beer garden with overpriced and rather poor food, it clearly thrives on the fact that the masses of people heading to the waterfalls will eventually get hungry. €15 for two tiny, pan-burnt Maultaschen, "schmalt" with almost raw onions. Served with ice-cold potato salad, whose main ingredient seems to be MSG. The fries were OK, the service halfway decent. Still, we'll bring a snack next time.

Fast, delicious, cozy, and affordable. We were looking for a traditional restaurant last night and definitely got our money's worth here. The last-minute reservation was no problem. The service was really prompt and very friendly. The selection of dishes is really great, with a bit of everything. The dishes were delivered super quickly and were still steaming hot. The "small schnitzel" we ordered was more of an XL schnitzel, so you get a good portion. It tasted delicious too! The price, considering the taste and the portions, is really extremely fair! I can therefore highly recommend this restaurant! The onion roast beef with spaetzle was also great, especially the meat was first-class and cooked to perfection!

We went there after hiking. The food is really delicious and there's a lot of it. The value is top-notch. The large schnitzel is an XXL schnitzel elsewhere. It's really great that they have "Meckatzer" (meat-eaters). The food was ready quickly, and the service was really quick.

Everything was great but the prices were reasonable…

A great place to sit down, but the food isn't that special. The spaetzle were cold—only the sauce was warm. The schnitzel was stringy. And the currywurst with a handful of fries tasted okay, but it wasn't filling.

Many of the dishes and ingredients are not homemade - I even saw a cook emptying a vat of potato salad into the serving area.

Okay, nothing more. Sausage salad only with rolls, no bread on offer at all. Very weak

First of all. We wanted to eat at this restaurant on Easter Sunday after a hike to the waterfall as it looked really inviting. There was a beer garden outside, nice and cozy inside. But the meal didn't happen after we wanted to sit down and a very unfriendly older lady at the drinks counter greeted us and our baby with no "hello" or anything like that, annoyed, without words and initially made us look stupid. We were then graciously allowed to sit down and we continued without a hint of friendliness. We then left straight away. There are certain things I just don't need. This service worker, for example. For the sake of fairness, the food gets full marks. Anything else would not be appropriate without trying it. There are other places where it tastes good too. On that note, goodbye. Fam. Haupt

Were there for the first time. Sooooo good. Ice-cold sausage salad, lovingly thrown onto the plate by hand, decorated with old cheese and a ton of onions 😜. Plus delicious rolls, rock hard for hammering in nails. For 12.50. Bomb. Great espresso for 2.70, 3.- given, remaining money is kept without a word. That's first class. By the way, the schnitzels are not pounded, but rather rolled out. Conclusion: A very clear recommendation and good luck with your meal. Top, top, top.

A really nice beer garden, which is very worthwhile as a starting point for beautiful hikes, for example to the waterfalls. The organization of ordering the food and picking it up works very well, the portions are generous and extremely tasty.

Food was heated up and really rather edible than anything else. Would probably only return for a cold beverage when seated outside.

Unfortunately, this restaurant relies on ready-made products. Potato salad from the wholesaler and not real Swabian cuisine. Due to the lack of freshness, we unfortunately had gastrointestinal problems after eating lentils with spaetzle and strings. It's a shame because the atmosphere and staff are very nice.

The Stüble is great, cozy and rustic with a fireplace, which is what makes it special. Since we first walked to the waterfall and then to the Hohenurach castle ruins, we were hungry and cold, so the Maisentalstüble was a great fit. The food - currywurst with fries 🍟 was very tasty 😋, and my neighbor's schnitzel, huge with cheese spaetzle, was also very tasty.

Nice for hiking and sitting outside in the large area after a bike ride.

A very cozy restaurant with a large beer garden for the warm summer days. The restaurant is located directly at the parking lot at the waterfall in Bad Urach. The prices are average and the portions are oversized. Therefore the prices are great and everyone gets full. Just convince yourself and walk by. The staff is really very friendly.

Super good, local food in a great, rustic atmosphere

We were there in the late afternoon for dinner after a long hike. We had dogs with us and of course asked beforehand whether they could come in. The mouth said yes, but the rest of the lady said extremely no! When we were assigned a place, we said the dogs should go in the corner and not somewhere else. Then our baby had to be changed. My wife wanted to do this in the toilet, but it wasn't possible anywhere. When we asked politely whether it was okay if she put him on the corner bench where no one was sitting but us, the answer was the same as when we asked about the dogs. We had a changing mat with us so we just did it. It's surprising that a restaurant, beer garden, kiosk, as they call themselves, reacts like this right next to a large hiking car park. There is a deduction for this. The food was quite good and the prices were partly ok and partly slightly higher.

Very tasty schnitzel and cheese spaetzle. Many side dishes to choose from. Huge portions + salad for reasonable prices (around €20). Reservations are recommended at least on weekends. The schnitzel in the picture covers a large part of the Käßspätzle.

Tasty, uncomfortable and mess-friendly.

The only restaurant with a minimum of elaborate and typical meals open in this city, a perfect location, very good food and very good service. A waitress who speaks several languages, French for us, which allowed us to be more comfortable there. Very hearty dishes for gourmets are perfect. I highly recommend.

Wir waren eine Gruppe von 6 Leuten, drinnen haben wir keinen Platz bekommen obwohl noch fast alles frei war, es war nur eine Gruppe vor Ort. Wir sollten draussen Platz nehmen. Draussen gibt es nur eine SB-Kasse. Nach dem 4 Leute von uns bestellt hatten, sagte die Bedienung dass jetzt keine Essen mehr aufgenommen werden. Es ist zu viel los. Ich sagte ihr, dass wir eine Gruppe sind und nur 2 Leute jetzt nichts zum Essen bekommen und wir zusammen wieder abreisen müssen. Nach mehrmaligen Nachhaken, sagte die Bedienung nur dass ich mich bei dem Chef beschweren soll. Sehr schlechter und unfreundlicher Service. Das war das letzte Mal! Imbissbudenessen zu Restaurantpreisen und ein überforderter Koch und der Laden war nicht ansatzweise voll.

We were a group of 6 people and we couldn't get a seat inside, even though only one table was occupied by a larger group. We should sit outside. There is a self-service checkout outside, in our case 4 meals were taken in and the last 2 were not allowed to order anything. There was too much going on right now, was the statement. After asking several times, the checkout staff was still not ready to take the last 2 meals. Since we were a group of 6 people and wanted to leave again at some point. We should complain to the boss was the only answer. Such bad service! Never again !!! Takeaway food at restaurant prices and an overwhelmed chef, and the restaurant wasn't anywhere near full.

Nice starting and ending point for all the hiking trails. It's beautifully situated on a hillside and there's also a playground for the little ones. We'd love to come back

More of a snack bar or kiosk atmosphere. In itself, the chosen location is of course good for the location because they have no competitors nearby. However, the prices are unfortunately not justified for the service.

Rustic furnishings recommended before and after the hike. Delicious cake and coffee, attentive and friendly hosts. Food menu also very tasty and good quality or upscale home cooking. All dishes were regional and a treat for the palate. Just like the beer and the spritzers, they were not cheap products. Absolutely recommended and the price is more than appropriate for the quality. So in short, good food at good prices with dedicated staff, we'll be happy to come back.

The schnitzel with a side dish and salad cost €17.80. It was really huge, the fries were good and plentiful and the salad wasn't bad either and was sufficient in quantity. Only 4 stars each because the schnitzel was unfortunately a bit dry, only self-service and gravelled space. But I would eat the schnitzel there again if I were there again.

We came here spontaneously today after having been there once in the summer. We really liked the atmosphere in the dining room (especially the wood stove), the staff was very friendly and the food was great. Price-performance ratio is completely fine. We can't understand the negative reviews!

There were around 6 tables of 4 and 2 tables of 2 free in the restaurant. There were about 10 pretty loud men at the “regulars’ table” (at least I think so). The two tables we were offered were right next to the men. When asked if there was space elsewhere, she said everything was reserved. We ordered sausage salad and salad with pike perch. The food came very quickly. The bread that came with it was moldy. When I told the waitress there was no "oh sorry" or "I'm sorry", it was ignored and we hopefully got different bread. On the bill, the sausage salad was €1 more expensive than what it said on the board outside. Unfortunately we only noticed it after paying. When we left, exactly 1 table was occupied by the 6 “reserved” people. I would have liked to have a conversation with my partner, but that was hardly possible due to the loud men.

Hymn of praise! The two of us were there for dinner today after the wonderful hike to the castle ruins and the Urach waterfall. Beautiful ambience designed with a lot of love. Service was very friendly and attentive. We had grilled vegetables with a dip that delighted us both. The portion was large, the vegetables were grilled, varied and tasted so excellent that we didn't even have to add any seasoning. Fries were also great. We had some of the currywurst sauce added to it, which we also really enjoyed. The subsequent apple rings with compote and fresh cream were also outstanding. We haven't had such good German food for a long time and we can't understand all the bad reviews. They are not justified in our eyes. Price-performance ratio was also okay for us and the menu is completely sufficient. We felt very comfortable and would definitely like to come back!!!

It was our first time eating there, the outside was a very nice beer garden with self-service, everything was fine but unfortunately the food was nothing. Had currywurst with fries. The fries tasted old and had a strange taste, the sausage was OK but the sauce was way too much, all the fries were soaked in the sauce so they were soft and no longer cross. There is a playground for kids in the beer garden. Well located but there is still room for improvement when it comes to food... What a shame...😔

We went there for dinner yesterday following a recommendation. It was a bit difficult to find due to the signs, but after reading reviews it was great. The food was great, the price and performance were right (for many who didn't realize what companies had to bear in terms of costs, responsibility and work). The staff was super friendly, although the counters can be worked on in terms of communication, I think the ladies didn't understand us, the kitchen staff was absolutely great, friendly, understandable, competent... perfect. The only annoying thing that is really annoying and stressful is the family with their super brats, not educated and arrogant, stupid behavior, even when it comes to food. These ..... should eat in your environment and not write negative reviews. I find it an absolute disgrace. Kind regards until next time.

Very nicely located beer garden. Ordering drinks and food delivery works smoothly. Food (matjes and sausage salad) completely okay. Good value for money. We cannot understand the negative reviews. You really have to ask yourself what (exaggerated?) expectations guests have when visiting such a location.

Great restaurant just outside with a cozy beer garden. The menu offers all the varieties of beer garden food that are important. Very tasty, but really generous portions! Be very hungry.

My fries were subpar. My daughter's cake looked and tasted like a ready-made cake that had been quickly thawed - and for 3.80 euros...we won't be going there again
