Mai-Tai in Mannheim

I ate Pad Thai with shrimp and was recommended duck meat. I don't like duck meat, but the sauce and dish were very delicious, and the pad thai was really delicious!! The shrimp are really strong!! Like Germany, the seasoning is a bit strong, but that makes me want to eat more and more. I liked it better because it was moist and soft like steamed rice. Oh, I also ate Tom Yum Goong and it was delicious. The atmosphere is nice and the servers are friendly... I want to go again next time I go to Mannheim.

We were passing through Mannheim and came across Mai Tai completely by chance. As soon as we walked in, this cute restaurant was totally inviting to us. A very nice atmosphere and a very nice staff, you immediately felt at home. The menu is very diverse, for every stomach and for every taste. The portions are really big. If we are back in Mannheim, we will visit Mai Tai again. 👍👍👍

Crispy chicken or crispy duck, even lamb are very tasty. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is good. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also very cozy. You can bring friends or your partner to eat together and enjoy the fresh air outside. You can also bring your family or hold business meetings. This restaurant choice is definitely not a bad decision.

The food was excellent, at least everything that was tried. E.g. fish with sweet and sour sauce, shrimp with red curry and Pad Thai. The service was very courteous and friendly. Nice atmosphere outside, it also seemed very cozy inside. Thank you!!!

Always delicious. Particularly inexpensive lunch dishes with soup fill you up. Possibility to sit outside in summer. Homemade Thai iced tea is highly recommended.

The food is delicious. You can request which spice level you want between “german level” or “thai level” as Thai, I can say the spice level is very “phed mak” The service is great. Staff always walk and come to check if everything ok with you. They won't left you waving hand too long and ignore. Thai restaurant, very Thai, authentic Thai, plays Mor Lam music. Swap Tilly Bird The sour curry is spicy and satisfying, like eating it at the mouth of the alley. The owner of the shop is very kind and gives away a shot of 40 degree white liquor. Forget about homesickness. Anyone who comes to Man Ham, I recommend this shop.

The taste of the food is really good and authentic. We ordered different dishes. As starters we had the sprout salad with peanuts, som tam and tom kha gai. All of the dishes had a good balance between the different components and were prepared in a lovely way. Our main dishes were pad kra paow, laab moo and pad thai so to say classic thai dishes. The kra paow is really juicy with a lot of herbs and was one of my favorite dishes. Laab moo was promoted as one of the chefs favorites and it really is. Good mix of fresh herbs, vegetables and meat. I feel like at home because the interior is detailed and made with love.and the drink is really nice too. Love it

Update May 31st: we have been regular customers at Mai-Tai for several years. Apparently there was a recent change of ownership. And that didn't hurt the restaurant. They say new brooms sweep better. And so it was. Thumbs up ! Please continue!

Very, very tasty! Really generous portions. Unfortunately we are only visiting Mannheim, otherwise I would eat here regularly. Super friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Delicious non-alcoholic cocktails, great starters and soups, the green Thai curry is a poem. I also tried my colleagues' food. There was nothing that wasn't tasty. The lamb was super tender and the duck was very crispy and still juicy. Top.

I often eat at Mai Tai for business and pleasure. I've never been disappointed so far. The new management, which still relies on the same kitchen staff, is doing a great job! If you want to eat delicious Thai food and/or drink good cocktails in Mannheim, this is the right place!

Large selection and authentic cuisine.

Maitai is a charming restaurant serving authentic Thai food. There was a change of ownership and you can feel that a lot of love and time was invested in the menu, the ambience and the delicious food. I had a delicious duck dish. The duck was nice and juicy and crispy. The starters are highly recommended and the staff are extremely friendly and bring a wonderful Thai atmosphere to the restaurant. The ambience of the restaurant is very nice. I particularly liked the hidden back part of the restaurant. The price-performance ratio is great and I will definitely come back.

We stayed at the nearby NH Hotel for a few days and discovered this restaurant by chance while passing by. Because we liked it so much, we ate here twice during our stay.

Went there again today. We didn't know that the owner had recently changed. But it doesn't detract from the matter, on the contrary. Food is super fresh and tastes like before, just a good Thai! Duck was very tasty! Thai curry also full of flavor and good ingredients! Good luck, highly recommended!

Went here for Songkran and were received very nicely. The food is great and the service is really nice. There was live music and dancing. There was even a competition at the end. We really enjoyed the evening and will definitely come back :)

I wasn't impressed with the starter - fried chicken meatballs. The main course - fried noodles with beef, very spicy - was very good. In general, I was quite impressed with most of the main courses and see more of the strengths there than, for example, in the soups. The service is very attentive and the dishes come relatively quickly. The outdoor area directly at the Augusta facility is far too loud and too exposed to exhaust fumes. If you visit often, you can notice a great similarity between the dishes - no wonder given the huge number of items on the menu.

The food was great and the service was quick and very friendly. Since my wife is Thai, it is very important to us that it is prepared traditionally and tastes like home, and it did. It was a celebration for you to eat there, thank you very much for that. We will be back definitely.

As a Thai, I can only say that it is prepared according to my individual wishes. The food is mega authentic in Mai Tai style and always meets my expectations. They even have special dishes that you won't find anywhere else. Believe me, you definitely have to try the "Pad Kra Pao Mu Krob" - crispy fried pork belly with Thai herbs and basil. This really blew me away, both in terms of quality and the mega portion size. Great quality and great service!

Not traditional Thai recipes. We got four different entrees and Tom Yum, none of which felt like they were made of quality ingredients and none of which got close to their typical flavors. Distinct lack of the expected seasonings in lieu of more salt and/or sugar. If you're looking for Asian inspired food MAYBE this is the place for you but if you're looking for Thai food or something consistently tasty - this isn't it unfortunately.

From the outside we expected a fast food restaurant. Inside, the guest area extends through 3 large rooms. We were lucky to even get a table. The food was very tasty and, upon request, it can be prepared in the original spiciness. Extremely tasty! The service is really extremely good. They try very hard to anticipate your every wish. As an additional free side dish, free sauces are available upon request to maximize the taste experience. At the end, adults receive a fruit schnapps or ouzo on the house. Children get iced tea. We are happy to have discovered this restaurant, which looks inconspicuous from the outside. Thanks for the great experience! We would love to come back 😋

The selection of Thai food there is simply incredibly diverse! They even accept individual taste requests. That's really great! ! It would be great if they could expand their vegan options. The service is very friendly and honest. I can only recommend the restaurant!

A very worthwhile visit since the first time.

Great restaurant, a bit inconspicuous from the outside. But the ambience is impressive from the inside! The service was always attentive and very quick. For the meal: very large portion that tasted excellent. You could tell that the people in the kitchen know their craft! We'd love to come back!

I was recently at the Mai Tai Thai Restaurant and I can tell you, the duck there is an absolute highlight! The meat was so juicy and tender, and the skin was nice and crispy. There was also a delicious sauce that harmonized perfectly with the duck. I absolutely loved this dish. If you love duck, then you must try Mai Tai Thai Restaurant!

The food is fine and good. The service leaves nothing to be desired. That's okay for lunch - for dinner, when the prices of the dishes are almost twice as high, I expect something different.

I ordered pad from kapao. Unfortunately, only fried rice with a few Krapao leaves (Thai basil) arrived. Accordingly, you don't get the dish you ordered. The summer rolls (2 pieces) with chicken were very small and absolutely not worth it for the price. A pity!

Tolles Restaurant mit wirklich sehr guter Qualität beim Essen. Der Service war etwas überfordert da die Location ziemlich voll war. Aber als Fazit immer gern wieder.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, wir hatten von allem was: Vegetarisch mit Tofu, Ente und Garnelen. Vor allem die Ente und die Garnelen wurden gelobt. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön, viel Deko und Einrichtung, die einem wie in einem anderen Land fühlen lässt. Der Service war top, die Kellnerin war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und insgesamt ein schönes Restaurant.

Wer sehr gute Thailändische Küche liebt, ist hier absolut richtig! Sehr viel Auswahl an Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichten. Egal was man auch bestellt: alles frisch und geschmacklich sehr lecker und authentisch. Dazu noch sehr freundlicher Service. Auch der Chef an der Bar ein echt sympathischer Mensch.

Für gebratener Reis mit Gemüse ohne Fleisch und das noch to go, knapp12 € zu verlangen, ist mit nichts gerechtfertigt.

Wir waren zu viert vor 1 Woche essen, haben im Bereich vorm Lokal gesessen mit Blumen und Schirmen liebevoll versehen. Der Service war fix und kompetent. Hatten eine große Vorspeise zu viert mit mehreren Köstlichkeiten. Anschließend bestellten wir verschiedene Entengerichte. Mit réchauds für die Teller und die Speisen, damit das Essen nicht kalt wird. Platten waren sehr schön präsentiert, Fleisch und Gemüse frisch und sehr geschmackvoll mit frischem Gemüse und einer leckeren leichten Sauce. Sehr freundliches Personal, besonders der Chef, Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist fair, ich empfehle gerne dieses Lokal weiter !

It's Chinese food with a touch of coconut milk, not authentic Thai cuisine. The interior, however, is very Thai and clean. Basically a long run not updated family restaurant to accomodate the local diners of that generation. The missing things that other reviewers mentioned below are spiciness, sourness, herbs (lemongrass and Thai basilicum are essential element) and Thai dessert. A pot of tea cost 7.80 eu, which came with teabag was a real dissappointment. Desserts are fried banana and all type of syrup: not Thai coconut milk dessert. The crispy duck is tasty, but same as the Asian/Vietnamese Imbiss in Germany. Again, a basic dish Tom Kha Kai was sweet/salty but not spicy/sour. Generally, all the dishes are lacking of aromatics. Both owners are friendly. A rushing pace with sigh was constantly heard behind me.

Sehr gutes Thai Restaurant mit authentischen Gerichten.

Scharf bedeutet scharf! "Mittel scharf" bestellt und es war richtig scharf, auch wenn wir gerne scharf essen. Also vorsichtig sein. Ansonsten hat alles gepasst. Gutes Ambiente, guter Service, gutes Essen. Das mit Wein ist nicht so ihr Ding, die Sorte, die ich wollte, gabs nicht mehr und der servierte Wein war nicht kalt genug.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal dort. Das Essen war hervorragend. Die Bedienungen sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Wir werden sehr gerne wiederkommen. Dankeschön

Aufmerksamer freundlicher Service mit wenig Wartezeiten. Große Auswahl, frisch und super-lecker. Das ganze Lokal ist v. Boden bis zur Decke mit importierten Hölzern, Gemälden und Dekorationen gestaltet. Man kommt durch die Tür und ist fast in Thailand.
