A very nice restaurant. Truly authentic Thai food—not Europeanized. Appropriately dressed staff and classical Thai music in the background. You can immerse yourself here.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the pleasant background music and the waitresses' attire give you that Thai feeling. The food was plentiful and good; for a fifth star, I found the meat in all the dishes I ordered (including the appetizer) a bit too tough and dry. The batter for the baked bananas was also unfortunately too greasy.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere; with Thai music, you almost feel like you're in Thailand! The service staff is very friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious, especially the crispy pork, which is rare in Germany. Highly recommended! 🌿🇹🇭

The Mai Tai impresses with authentic Thai cuisine, fresh ingredients, and perfectly balanced flavors. The quail from the specialty menu is particularly highly recommended. I had dinner at Mai Tai in Mannheim. The food was okay overall. I had the papaya salad, which unfortunately had a bit too much fish sauce for my taste. When I ordered a chicken salad, they specifically asked me not to use any fish sauce… I thought that was really thoughtful! The service was really excellent, very friendly and accommodating. As a nice touch, they even offered a free Thai iced tea. The ambiance was calm and pleasant. All in all, a lovely evening with very good service and a pleasant atmosphere. Next time, I'll just try a different dish.

Such a fun spot for food and drinks! We were there a few times and every time the food was delicious (with generous portions), the staff was super friendly and the drinks were yummy (try the Pina colada!). My only gripe is that it's always too hot inside!! Wear something light XD

As a Thai who grew up with real, authentic Thai cuisine – especially the classic Pad Kra Pao – I'm often skeptical about Thai food abroad. I travel to Thailand often and know what authentic Thai food should taste like: robust, aromatic, with the typical Thai basil that makes all the difference. I visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a Thai friend – and was pleasantly surprised: The flavor was authentic, strongly seasoned – and most importantly: It was cooked with plenty of Thai basil. Not stingy, not adapted – but honest and full of flavor. I ordered basil fried rice and Pad Kra Pao with minced pork. And I can say with conviction: **This is the only Thai restaurant in the city that uses so generously with fresh Thai basil – and comes so close to the original...

Update: Thank you for your detailed answer, it shows that you still put your heart and soul into it. I want to make it clear that I didn't think their food was bad, it tasted good. But your answer misses the point of my criticism to some extent. You know yourself that I didn't look at the menu, but asked directly for a special dish. Imagine you go to a German restaurant and order a “chicken schnitzel with fries” and then you get “chicken nuggets with potato wedges”. Of course it's kind of the same thing, breaded chicken with potatoes, and it'll probably taste good, but it's just not what they ordered. And in the end it doesn't help when the waiter tells you that this is the "chicken schnitzel with fries" from the lunch menu, and there is also an authentic menu on the main menu. Do you understand what I mean? --------------------------Original-------------------------------- After my last vacation in Thailand I felt like having “pad kra pao” again, which is what I ordered. The ambience was a bit too dark for my taste, but the restaurant doesn't have a lot of window space, and in the end it didn't matter to me. The service was very friendly and accommodating, the service was quick, and I also got a fried egg pat kra pao upon request and an extra charge of €2. The food tasted good, but not like pad kra pao, bamboo shoots, red pepper strips and oyster soy sauce is something I have never encountered in this dish in Thailand. It is very much tailored to the German palate. I am an entrepreneur in the service sector myself and I know that it is difficult, perhaps even impossible, to please all customers. Ultimately, you're always on the safe side if you have the same flavor as any normal Asian snack, but I would encourage the owner to perhaps make this dish a little more authentic.

If you love Thai culture and authentic Thai food that tastes just like it does in Thailand, this is the place for you. It’s a little corner of Thailand, right in the heart of Mannheim. Everyone is warm, welcoming, and full of smiles. The service is excellent, the owners are friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. If I had to suggest one slight improvement, it would be to add the larger bottles of Singha and Chang to the menu since only the 0.33-liter ones are currently available. Thank you for the wonderful experience. I’ll definitely come back to this restaurant every time I’m in town.

We were in Mai Thai for the first time today and would love to come back. The papaya salad was very tasty and tasted very fresh. My main course was very spicy which exactly suited my taste. The chilli variations that were included were also very tasty and varied in spice. The homemade Thai iced tea was also very good. The conditions and staff are very friendly.

Top service from the moment you book. Warm welcome despite the crowds. Succulent meal and the kitchen is attentive to allergens. To finish, the fried banana with its vanilla ball... we wanted to lick the bowl.... in short, highly recommended

I really liked how many fresh vegetables and variations you have on the menu! The Thai cucumber salad is my absolute favorite – tastes like a vacation in Thailand!

I was there for lunch yesterday. There is a special lunch menu at lunchtime and the meals consist of soup and a main course. The food is the right amount for a lunch break. It was delicious, the service was quick and it was reasonably priced. Delicious authentic Thai food. Gladly again!

My friend and I ate there last week. He had a 4cm piece of plastic in his food! When we brought this to the attention of the service person, she wanted to discuss this with the boss. I saw her talking about it with her colleagues outside the kitchen as they looked at the piece of plastic on the plate. There was no apology or compensation. My friend had been feeling sick since eating and was vomiting profusely for hours afterwards. We're definitely not coming back!

I wasn't impressed with the starter - fried chicken meatballs. The main course - fried noodles with beef - was good. In general, I was quite impressed with most of the main courses and see more of the strengths there than, for example, in the soups. The service is very attentive and the dishes come relatively quickly. The outdoor area directly at the Augusta facility is far too loud and too exposed to exhaust fumes. If you visit often, you can notice a great similarity between the dishes - no wonder given the huge number of items on the menu. The new operator has "adjusted" the pricing, as they put it: an additional portion of rice with a main course is now charged at €3.50. I could understand that given the rather cheap lunch menu, but I find it strange given the regular main courses with the modest rice bowls as an accompaniment, especially since the portions are already characterized by their clarity and the generous distribution of decorative carrot arrangements. I couldn't describe the dish as particularly spicy, despite the three stylized peppers on the menu

We reserved a table for two people at very short notice and were completely thrilled. The ambience is extremely beautiful and inviting – you immediately feel at home. The service was excellent: attentive, friendly and professional. The food impressed with its authentic taste and high quality. The price-performance ratio was also absolutely good. We will definitely come back and can fully recommend Mai-Tai!

After eating there several times in the past, I went there for dinner today with my family. Since we lived in Singapore and visited Thailand regularly back then, we love the food. But today it was a disappointment. Ambience and service are very good, but as I said, the food was not as expected. Instead of being fried, my Gai Pad Med Ma Muong was shredded chicken cooked in a soy-heavy sauce. There's no other way to call it, sorry. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture because I was disappointed. The starters were okay.

As soon as you enter the restaurant you will be enchanted by the warm, inviting atmosphere. My culinary highlight is undoubtedly always the Som Tam – the famous green papaya salad. For me the best one outside of Thailand - and I've tried a lot ;) In addition to the food, the service is also impressive. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive and authentically warm - you feel completely welcome and valued. This restaurant is not just a place to eat, but a journey for the senses. If you are longing for Thailand or simply want to immerse yourself in the country's diversity of flavors, this is the right place for you. We will definitely come back and can recommend this culinary short vacation to everyone!

Very nicely decorated restaurant, very well maintained and clean. People like to sit here a little longer for a dessert or a second drink. A pleasant contrast to other Asian restaurants, which often operate on the "quick in, quick out" principle. The food has been very tasty on all my previous visits without exception. There was only one visit where there were long waiting times when the restaurant was full to capacity and a server was probably unavailable - that can happen and I don't understand why some people deduct a star for something like that. I would also like to say on a positive note that the takeaway food is packaged in high quality, you don't have to worry about aluminum trays and toxic Styrofoam here. Overall, highly recommended. If you're looking for cheap quick food, you'll have to go somewhere else.

We recently had dinner here with our team. Most of us were here for the first time and we will definitely come back. The interior is very attractive and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We were warmly welcomed and immediately felt very comfortable. The staff was very courteous and attentive throughout the evening. The food was super tasty, with large portions. This is how the evening should be when eating out and that's why I can only recommend the Mai Tai!

We were there during the week and everything was reserved. We are very familiar with Mai-Tai, we like to go here for lunch, including soup and a choice of dishes, or in the evening, main courses around 10 euros, large portions. That evening we received the menus and there were two children and 6 adults sitting at the next table. The adults got their food there first, which I thought was stupid. Furthermore, there are no longer any main courses around 10 euros in the evening, I took one of the cheap dishes, beef with vegetables for 17.90. The dish came quickly, but the dish turned into a lot of vegetables with the occasional bit of beef, far too little for an adult. In the past, rice was always delivered free of charge upon request, but it now costs 6 euros. I ordered spicy, I didn't notice it at all, it was a standard soy sauce. We paid 48 euros, the last time we were there it was just under 30 and we used to always leave completely full, this time we could have given it away. That was nothing, the white bowl, usually with a mountain of food, was only half full. Too bad...

So delicious! Especially the dishes with duck 😍

It's my second time here and it doesn't disappoint me still. The food is always superb, very authentic and delicious. The service is totally great and the restaurant's atmosphere is very warm. The people who works here specially Rich is very accommodating to us and to every guest. Keep it up guys! 🩷

The three of us spontaneously went out for dinner and were treated very friendly. The vegetarian menu isn't that big, but upon request we were able to order tofu instead of chicken (at no extra charge). The ambience is very nice and invites you to sit for a long time. It worked for us without a reservation, but in general you should probably call ahead. It was well filled. Overall, highly recommended!

The food was really excellent, but I have to say that I found the selection to be far too large. There are so many delicious dishes on the menu, but that's exactly why it's very difficult to choose something. It would have been enough for me to have been able to choose from half as many dishes and I still would have been overwhelmed, I think. Everything we finally ordered was very tasty. The service is wonderful: all the staff are incredibly nice and accommodating and really great hosts. We felt completely at home and would love to come back. I also thought it was great that at the end there was a digestive on the house and it wasn't the usual sweet liqueur, but that you could choose what you wanted The price-performance ratio is also right

I ate Pad Thai with shrimp and was recommended duck meat. I don't like duck meat, but the sauce and dish were very delicious, and the pad thai was really delicious!! The shrimp are really strong!! Like Germany, the seasoning is a bit strong, but that makes me want to eat more and more. I liked it better because it was moist and soft like steamed rice. Oh, I also ate Tom Yum Goong and it was delicious. The atmosphere is nice and the servers are friendly... I want to go again next time I go to Mannheim.

We were passing through Mannheim and came across Mai Tai completely by chance. As soon as we walked in, this cute restaurant was totally inviting to us. A very nice atmosphere and a very nice staff, you immediately felt at home. The menu is very diverse, for every stomach and for every taste. The portions are really big. If we are back in Mannheim, we will visit Mai Tai again. 👍👍👍
