What a fantastic evening! We had booked a table for their so-called Meat Wednesday. We immediately felt very comfortable. The food was soooooo delicious and varied. The appetizer included beetroot falafel with chickpeas, delicious bread with wonderful butter, and an equally delicious salad. The main course offered rump roast, corn-fed chicken breast with teriyaki sauce, and beef tenderloin. Everything was cooked perfectly medium. Sides included fries, new potatoes, mushrooms in balsamic vinegar, and a very tasty vegetable (cabbage) with walnuts. For dessert, there was a sweet chocolate tart. All in all, it was a perfect evening. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Everything was spotlessly clean. Every Meat Wednesday is different; we're already looking forward to our next visit.

First of all, the stunning view from the outside was breathtaking. We were there in the evening, and the castle, including the restaurant, was beautifully illuminated. Upon entering, we received a warm welcome, and the staff explained the layout, the food, and the wines in a very friendly and professional manner. We were then shown to our table, which was in the vaulted cellar. The server explained the menu selection to us at the table, including what would be served, how, and with what, as well as the drinks. The service was exceptional – highly professional and always with a genuine smile. The food was also very good and presented in a unique way. A special experience. Unfortunately, unlike the other guests, we (with a MyDays voucher) weren't asked how cooked the meat should be, so we had to take what was brought. The five-course meal included a broth with a piece of bread, which was a bit sparing, even considering the voucher price (almost €200). Otherwise, it was beautifully presented, filling, and nicely served.

We've been going there regularly for a little over four years and are always impressed by the food (perfect steaks and superb side dishes), as well as the ambiance and impeccable service. About three weeks ago, we were there for a wedding, and we were also completely thrilled with everything. We highly recommend this restaurant.

I had reserved a table for August 16th. Upon arriving at the restaurant, four servers ignored me. The fifth then told me we could take a seat wherever was available. We chose a table upstairs, which was just being cleared. Nothing happened for the next 20 minutes. No drinks menu, no menu, nothing. We then decided to leave the restaurant and explained the situation to the lady who had previously cleared the table in question. She apologized for the incident and wanted to know who had assigned us the table, as they were ultimately responsible. Of course, you always have a choice and could have drawn attention to yourself, but in such an expensive restaurant, you also have certain expectations. The restaurant was rather moderately busy, and there were also enough servers on site. Based on this experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant.

Very nice location. Unfortunately, we were simply left standing at the reception without any attention. After a while, a friendly waiter told us we could choose a table. After waiting about 20 minutes to be served, we left. It's a shame, but you'd expect more.

We were there last Wednesday and were deeply disappointed, even angry. I had ordered a Chardonnay as an aperitif; however, it only arrived after repeated requests, and only when the others were already halfway through their appetizers. Generally, the appetizers didn't wait until the various aperitifs were finished – not the elegant way! There was only one set menu ("Meat Wednesday"), the quality of the side dishes was good, but the beef could have been more tender. When paying, the waiter "miscalculated" (to their advantage by €45!!!). First, we were asked to "...scan a QR code at home to check the bill...". After further inquiries, the gentleman finally came with the itemized bill. In the relevant section of the bill, he had "...accidentally charged for 5 instead of 4 menus...". He returned the money with the succinct comment, "...good thing you noticed that...". Not a word of apology! So for me: No place to go!

Great location in the middle of Raesfeld Castle – beautifully decorated. There were five of us and we treated ourselves to the set menu. We didn't really think we'd be full. Wrong thought 😉 The dishes were placed in the middle of the table, and everyone could choose freely. The service was incredibly friendly, accommodating, fun, and warm all at the same time. Our requests were met quickly and efficiently. The food was good, the wine was good, the coffee was good 👍 - well... only 4 stars because there's definitely room for improvement. We got married in Raesfeld Castle in 2024 and celebrated with meals and meals in the beautiful winter garden. We were there again for the first anniversary and were not disappointed again. When it came to eating, nothing was left to be desired. We personally think the concept is very nice and you felt like you were at home. The steak was cooked to perfection and the side dishes pampered the palate. We would like to say a special thank you to Nils, who supported us with his good humor and extensive knowledge of every dish.

Clear 5 stars in all respects! We were able to celebrate our wedding at Mahl & Meute last year and were absolutely thrilled (as were our guests). Our subsequent visits were always outstanding. A great concept with the main course and the side dishes, really well done. The service employee is really attentive and knows his trade, for this special person there are 10 points alone. What I personally didn't like were the tables where you really have to look at how best to place the glass, a bit impractical. It's not for a cozy get-together because of the many guests and the associated noise. Maybe I'm sensitive about it, but for me animals have no place in a restaurant.

Great atmosphere but they must have had a bad day. The steaks were lukewarm and quite dry and the consistency of the chicken steak was raw, although it looked cooked, I have no idea how to achieve that. We were there on a day when you couldn't eat a la carte. Maybe they do it better otherwise but it's completely overpriced.

My girls' evening at Mahl&Meute is unforgettable. The area around the Raesfeld moated castle is magical and so is the ambience of the restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxing, the employees' work is obviously good teamwork and everyone had a sense of humor. Anyone who sees the glowing lettering in the cellar vault atmosphere will hopefully have the same sense of humor. For me, the meal was a mindful, spectacular journey for my taste buds e.g. the celery cream with caramelized white chocolate. The menu so exceptionally creative. The meat is so tender and fried to perfection. I would also like to note the wine selection and the good craft beer. Simply a dream. The journey from Hamburg was more than worth it. At this point, many thanks to Annika, Ronnie and Nils for this lovely evening.

Well... Went there twice - once for Meatweek and once for the Magic Dinner. The first time it was great: good meat and very tasty side dishes. The second time was very disappointing! Starter ok, dessert good - main course miserable and all three versions! Steaks were really different in size (so that it was extremely noticeable) and nobody really liked the side dish and everything was just "slapped on". We were a group of over 30 people who ALL thought the same thing! The burger wasn't tasty either and messing something up like that is quite an art! Plus unfriendly staff - I had to argue because I wanted to order another water bottle and if I had known, a whole one! Since my group didn't receive ANYTHING during a show segment, I wouldn't have given a tip. Unfortunately, I didn't find out until later... In addition, the distribution of the food didn't work properly - when the first ones were finished, another part of the same table only received something. Very poorly organized. Since something like that has its price, it really wasn't good - price/performance was absolutely not right for us that evening! We have already been to other events of this kind and were therefore very disappointed... So, if you want to go, go in smaller groups of up to 10 people and during normal business hours - you probably won't get anything else there.

A candlelight dinner deluxe booked through Jochen Schweizer. The food was lovingly prepared in every detail. It tasted great and apart from that the service was exemplary attentive. Upon request, our 5 courses were served slowly, after which we stayed here for a total of over 4 hours. That's exactly what I found good. In many restaurants you are quickly "eaten up" but here we were able to simply enjoy the peace and serenity. The farewell was just as warm as the reception, so you leave the restaurant with a positive feeling. Many thanks to the great team. Keep doing exactly that. 🙂

I don't understand why this restaurant doesn't have Michelin stars. The quality of the food, the presentation of the dishes and the service are at an exceptionally high level. Every visit is an experience that is designed with great attention to detail. Considering the criteria that determine a Michelin star - such as innovation, consistency and the overall experience - this restaurant seems to tick all the boxes. It's really surprising that it hasn't won any awards yet.

We discovered 'Mahl und Meute' through friends around 4 years ago. I have never eaten as well as I did here. On the one hand, the steaks are of the very best quality and prepared to perfection and on the other hand, the side dishes such as the celery white chocolate cream are an absolute culinary delight. The staff is extremely friendly and always makes you feel valued and is also professional when it comes to advice on meat, side dishes and drinks.

Very tasty, very friendly service. However, I don't understand why people use so many broken dishes with such high quality food and high prices. Some plates had several chipped spots, as did cups. A wooden plate was even missing a large corner. Incomprehensible to me.

Very elegant atmosphere in Raesfeld Castle, excellent food. The view from the terrace of the moat and park creates a holiday feeling. Romantic atmosphere, large selection of wine, with chic decoration, candles on the table. The food came quickly and was very well presented, with an explanation of exactly what it was. The side dishes are very unusual and taste fantastic. Portions are huge. The service was very competent, friendly, attentive. All in all, a very nice evening at a more than reasonable price, the quality, the location and the overall picture are definitely justified.

We were there today for the wine tasting. The event was actually supposed to be canceled because too few participants were registered. However, the appointment was not canceled and we even received two 3-course menus for the price of one. The service was very friendly and competent! The food was unbeatably delicious 😋 Absolutely recommended! Thank you very much and see you soon!

The castle itself is a fairytale setting that made our wedding a true dream. The high quality food is also particularly noteworthy. Our guests were delighted with the delicious dishes, which were prepared with a lot of love and care. We couldn't be happier and can only warmly recommend Schloss Raesfeld with Mahl and Meute as a wedding location!

The best restaurant that there is in Raesfeld (and the surrounding area) in my opinion. Great location, friendly service and wonderful food. At sunset in summer, the terrace is highly recommended.

This restaurant is an absolute asset to the entire region. For us it is always worth taking the 40 minute journey because we are more than rewarded there. Our whole family (including passionate gourmets (also for wine and meat), as well as vegans and children) are made super happy here. The entire ambience is beautiful inside and out. On top of that, the service is extremely pleasant and open to extras and special requests. We would definitely love to come back and are looking forward to it! 💛
