We tried Rogan Josh and Dal makhani. It was very nice. Not too spicy at all. Naan was excellent. Host was very welcoming. Hindi speaking for us. Overall we recommend this place to everyone to try.

It used to be the best Indian restaurant in all of Munich! Unfortunately, it hasn't been good for the last few months… Deliveries aren't working, sauces are leaking, the food doesn't taste good anymore… very disappointing. This Indian restaurant was always our first choice…

Maharani Munich offers authentic Indian cuisine right in the heart of Munich. The decor is simple, but features comfortable upholstered banquettes that invite you to linger. Indian background music creates the perfect ambiance. Its location near the Isar River adds to the appeal – ideal for a stroll before or after your meal. The culinary offerings are particularly noteworthy: the Mango Lassie was pleasantly fresh, and the Chicken Begam Bahari and Mango Chicken impressed with their intense flavors and delicate seasoning. Served with crispy naan bread, including options with lamb and garlic filling, everything is highly recommended. The service was very friendly and attentive, and small extra requests were handled with ease. Overall, the value for money was remarkably good – especially by Munich standards. The delivery and takeout service is also reliable and of high quality. A restaurant you'll definitely want to visit again.

We now eat here regularly because it's simply fantastic every time. The team is warm and attentive; you immediately feel welcome. The food is wonderfully aromatic, fresh, and beautifully presented. On top of that, it offers excellent value for money. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, perfect for a cozy evening. We highly recommend it.

Not recommended. We ordered food and after the delivery took significantly longer than stated, we were appalled by what we received. The vegetarian dish consisted of frozen vegetables (carrots, cauliflower, peas, and beans) and was inedible. The meat dish was bland and contained hardly any meat. For almost €30, I expect much more!

The food is great. As an Indian I can say the food is definitely good and you can ask them to make it "Indian style". The employees were also friendly. I always order from them and this place has become my go to indian restaurant

Worst indian food I had anywhere.. Bengali fish curry had weird smell and was made in kadhai masala saying it is bengali fish curry... I got nauseous after eating a bit and rest went to Dustin.... I would have given negative stars if i could..Never again...

There is No Indian taste in this restaurant. All sweet and same taste from any curry you order. Disappointing.

We visited the clean Quartier Restaurant on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant was a bit dated and not at full capacity. But everything was perfect and very clean. We ordered the (new) menu for two people (€40) from the selection. The food was very good and deliciously prepared, and the service was also very attentive and friendly.

On a rainy Wednesday evening, my family and I ordered our evening meal from this establishment after it was recommended to us by a good acquaintance. After an hour of waiting for our food, we had a flash of thought to ask where it was. When asked when the food would arrive, no clear answer could be given - apparently they had forgotten to prepare our food. Tempers were depressed - also known as hangry in Anglo-Saxon terms. Now after 105 minutes of hungry stomachs, my mother and I decided to take the initiative and get the meal ourselves. But then the relieving bell came along with a free mango lassis. Food was good, I would recommend picking it up yourself!

Absolutely brilliant food! The naan bread is one of the best in terms of taste – super fluffy and perfectly baked. The main courses were super tasty and served in large portions. The mango cream was incredibly delicious and a perfect ending. Added to this is the super nice and attentive staff. Everything is just right here – absolute recommendation!

We were here again for dinner. The food came quickly and was very good. I can only recommend the chili naan. The landlord is very nice and available for a chat. We'll be back :)

At Maharani on Baldeplatz there is absolutely premium, delicious Indian food, and we were particularly impressed by the selection of vegetarian dishes. Taher is very accommodating and friendly, we always feel comfortable with our children. My tip: Bengan ka bharta (from eggplant)

I had the pleasure of visiting Maharani and I must say it was a wonderful experience! The ambience is warm and inviting, with authentic Indian touches creating a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The service was excellent - the staff were friendly, attentive and made sure we felt completely at home. However, the food was the absolute highlight! The spices and flavors were perfectly balanced so that each dish was a feast for the senses. I was particularly impressed with chicken tiker , the dal tadka naan bread that was incredibly fresh and tasty. I was also impressed by the selection of vegetarian and vegan options. I highly recommend this restaurant for both fans of Indian cuisine and anyone wanting to try something new. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! The food was very tasty and with a very good price in Munich.

We came across this restaurant through the “Schlemmerblock” voucher book. We called and made a reservation for two people with a dog. We were assured on the phone that this would of course be fine. When we arrived we were rudely turned away from the restaurant because dogs were not allowed. (The voucher book also said that dogs were allowed.) The restaurant was almost empty at 7 p.m. I don't even need to start with the look of the table sets. I can't judge the food, maybe this restaurant could have at least scored with that.

We ordered a Maharani grill platter with salad, as shown on the menu. The meal was served without salad. Reason: this is still the old menu. The second dish with shrimps wouldn't be available today. But they reappeared on the grill. It was a bit like a hidden camera. Conclusion: Never again!

Instead of the mild food ordered, brutally spicy food was delivered. I ordered this for my children 10 & 2 years old. The little one screamed for an hour because of the pain in her mouth! Less oil, properly cooked and feels like home food. Manager/owner of this place named Tahir is exceptionally good in making you feel like home and keeps talking to you. Always friendly and gets the food prepared customised to your taste. Ambience: Though the place looks a bit old but soon to be renovated Food: No doubts, its absolutely good. This had been my daily kitchen to eat after my work for almost 2 weeks Comparison: Have tried various other Indian restaurants in Munich, you will find lot of oil in the curries, an easier way to cook food and they think adds taste. But the food at Maharani has almost no oil. Value for Money: This place is comparatively cheaper to other overly priced Indian restaurants Recommendation: Must visit place and say hi to Tahir
