Fine naan with cheese, unfortunately he brought me the wrong main course, but it was still tasty. Pleasant spiciness. Apologized. It's all ok.

We have been here several times and have never been disappointed. No matter which dish you choose, it always tastes excellent. In addition, you will always receive courteous and very friendly service and you will feel very comfortable here.

The food and the ambience were good! That was it then. The service is very questionable and we had to decide very quickly what we wanted to eat. What's more, we've been waiting for 25 minutes to see what happens after the plates were cleared away. Our glasses are empty and no one asks us whether we want anything else or not. Oh well… Edit: now the “waiter” has cleared the glasses and asked us to pay as the restaurant is about to close (at 1:30!!). You couldn't feel more unwelcome. Never again!!!!

Service very accommodating. Extra requests are no problem. It's also nice to sit outside in the summer. Unfortunately the food was just mediocre. Lots of sauce, little content. Very soft cooked meat. I've eaten better at an Indian restaurant.

It closes at 10 p.m., at 9:40 p.m. the tables are already being put together and our plates were cleared from the table, but our mouths were still full. Never again.

Closes at 10pm. From 9.30 p.m. all the chairs and tables around us were cleared away. With the umbrellas taken down, according to the motto, you're finally leaving. Absolute no-go. Never again and not recommended.

The food itself is very tasty. You can also get rice refilled upon request (at no extra charge). What is a big complaint, however, is that my vegetarian dish only had two small triangles of grilled cheese on it (together about 4x4cm in size). For this price, a disgrace

No matter whether in a large group or just two people - everything has always been perfect for us! I would love to come twice a week to enjoy this fantastic food. I had to convince a lot of friends to go out for Indian food and now everyone is addicted! <3 The quality of the food is always excellent! Personally, I can never finish the portion and am happy that I can enjoy it again at home two days later. Thank you for being here, you really enrich Passau with your great food. I think the price and performance are totally fair.

The Maharaja is definitely the best restaurant in Passau! We have already tried all the restaurants in the area, but none impressed us as much as the Maharaja. The food is always outstanding, especially the Garlic Naan starter and the Chicken Tikka Masala main course are our favorites. The service staff is always friendly and attentive. We definitely cannot understand the bad criticism from the service staff in the reviews. We always enjoy coming here!

Very tasty Indian food with friendly hosts. Very nice atmosphere both inside and outside. The mango schnapps is also highly recommended.

Were there for a date. There was not much communication with the service either when ordering or afterwards. The waitress slammed our food on the table and left without a word. Unfortunately the drinks were lukewarm. The food wasn't bad, but the portion was only enough if you were hungry.

Biryani was not up to the mark. Mint chutney which was spread over chicken wasn't good at all. Not worth the price that we pay for.

We always like the food there very much. The service is friendly, sometimes there is a bit of a problem with German, but communication has always worked so far. In terms of price, it's absolutely okay, but you should expect drinks to cost a little more than 20 euros per person. We like going there and I would recommend it.

Very good food. The ambience was very nice and typically Indian. The rice was very fluffy and incredibly tasty. The service was also impeccable. I can only recommend!

We love the Maharaja in Passau. Authentic, Indian cuisine in a family business. Of particular note, it is cooked with a real tandoori oven.

Small restaurant, but very nice. Good prices and very good food. Located in Passau, there are parkings not far away, so you can get there after leaving the park and make a small walk enjoying the sightseeing of the Donau.

Für mich persönlich der beste Inder in Passau und gleichzeitig eins meiner Lieblingsrestaurants! Meine persönliche Empfehlung: Mango Chicken und Knoblauch Naan :) Im Sommer kann man auch schön draußen sitzen.

Unglaublich tolles indisches Restaurant! Sehr zu empfehlen. Bedienung sehr freundlich, aufgeschlossen und kompetent. Essen sehr lecker, frisch zubereitet. Wir hatten eine Vorspeisen Suppe, diese war sehr frisch gemacht, voller frischer Kräuter und Gewürze, nicht geschafft, da dann schon der Hauptgang kam. Dieser war sehr reichhaltig. Lammfleisch Butter zart, zerfiel auf der Zunge, Hähnchen butter-zart, saftig. Lassi, Chai Tee und Getränke guter Preis, alles frisch, lecker und einfach zum Genießen!!! Wir kommen gern wieder! sehr zu empfehlen!

Essen und Getränke waren sehr lecker. Leider spricht (und versteht) die Bedienung nur sehr schlecht deutsch. Auf einen Lychee Spritz wurde mit eine Lychee Schorle gebracht. Die Toiletten könnten sauberer sein (Spinnenweben). Dafür ist der Gastraum sauber und schön eingerichtet.

Hervorragendes Essen &reichliche Portionen - wir hatten auch am nächsten Tag noch ein leckeres Mittagessen. Die Servicekräfte waren sehr nett und zuvorkommend, das Restaurant ist liebevoll und stilecht eingerichtet

Sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant. Das ganze Essen schmeckt ausgezeichnet und wird frisch zubereitet. Alles wird mit einem schönen, klassisch indischem Geschirr serviert. Gehe dort regelmäßig essen und konnte mich absolut noch nie beschweren! Sehr zu empfehlen ist das gegrillte Chicken Tikka mit Garlik Nan-Brot und dazu ein Mango-Ingwer Eistee.

Das Maharaja in Passau ist immer einen Besuch wert. So waren wir gestern wieder da und wurden mit köstlichem Essen und tollem Service verwöhnt. Unsere Lieblingsspeisen finden wir unter der vegetarischen Rubrik. Die Auswahl vegetarischer Gerichte ist toll, man kann sich fast nicht entscheiden, was man wählt. Das ist ein Grund, immer wieder hier hin zu kommen, um alles probieren zu können. Aber auch die Fleischgerichte sind sehr schmackhaft. Und hier gibt es den besten Mango-Lassie. Die Inhaber des Maharaja zeigen mit ihrer Herzlichkeit, dass man immer willkommen ist. Wir freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch und können dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen.

Sehr gutes indisches Restaurant!

1. Food was okay, we ordered onion pakora but received vegetable pakora which was served with pickle or mango jam and not a proper chutney. 2. Mint lassi was unique and good. 3. Tomato soup was good 4. Also the taxes are bit strange. Bill was 64€ , but the bill of food we ordered was 50 euros or so, but we had to pay 13 euros extra tax on food which is 7% tax (MwSt) == 3.55 euros plus Nettoumsatz (19%) == 7.56€ plus and 19% (MwSt)== 1.44€. Never experienced so much extra tax on food in other restaurants we went in Germany. Most of the restaurants includes the tax with the food. I felt we are in some restaurant in the US. 5. We ordered biryani but it was served without raitha, most of the restaurants serve biryani with some sides, but here we had to pay extra of 3.90€ for raitha. 6. Jheenga Karahi was good, which costs at 18.50€ which we thought is inclusive of taxes. Overall experience is quite different then what I see in other reviews, not a great experience and is very expensive. Since I have been to several Indian restaurants in Germany, I feel this restaurant is expensive for normal Indian food that we get in any other Indian restaurant. Response: 1. Regarding wrong pakora served, yes we could have refused to eat, we realized it after eating two or three of it that it’s a wrong dish as it had one or two onion pakora, since the pakora is heavily coated with batter it’s hard to find out which pakora it was in the first go. So after eating few of it we dint feel it right to exchange it. Pakora was served with mango jam, pickle and sweet chilli sauce. No mint chutney was served, mint chutney is made of mint leaves and we did not find it. 2. Regarding chicken biryani, it was served without sides, no restaurant serves dry item without sides, Instead it had papad which is again dry, do you want the customer to choke. So in a way you are forcing customers to order raitha or any drink and pay extra. If you don’t give sides for biryani, then why give rice for the curry. Even Chinese or Asian restaurant serves sauces with fried rice. Similarly all Indian restaurants we visited in Germany serves raitha with biryani. Yes even for Bavarian standards your restaurant is expensive. We are just a critic writing what we experienced, instead of taking it in a constructive way you are arguing about it. We visited other restaurants in Passau were the experience was great. Anyways we were just a tourist in Passau, even if we visit Passau again we will never be visiting your restaurant.

War zwar noch nie in Indien, aber das indische Essen im Maharaja ist ausgezeichnet, hatte noch nie irgendetwas zu beanstanden, Service freundlich, aufmerksam und zurückhaltend. Bin immer wieder gerne Gast!😋

Friendly and nice foods. Nan is so great. But some foods can be spicy for ppl.

The tomato soup and butter chicken were really good. Pakora, garlic naan, palak paneer, all great, too. No complaints!
