Maharaja indisches Restaurant in Rostock

I've eaten in many Indian restaurants and here at Mahajara the food (aloo chana masala) was far too watery and tasteless for me. The portion size was generous and the service was satisfactory, but taste is the most important thing for me and this restaurant couldn't score points for me. I also found it strange that the allergens weren't listed on the menu (so what does g,i stand for?) and the atmosphere wasn't very cozy either. There are no explicitly marked dishes for vegans, but all vegetarian dishes (most of which contain paneer or yoghurt) can be served vegan upon request. It's good for families with children that there is a separate dish for the children (spaghetti with tomato sauce), but in principle I don't find "typical German" dishes in an Indian restaurant very authentic.

Nice shop, with good food and friendly staff. The food was also pleasantly spicy. Not that burning, probably just right for my weak German palate. So yes, it was very tasty, I can recommend it. You can sometimes hear shots in the kitchen, probably the cook with the spices. But thanks to the music you could still eat something relaxed. The ambience was so good that I considered sleeping right there. Unfortunately I had to leave again. :/ The shots were just a joke, but like I said, it was cool.

Have been here several times. No matter whether you order on site or away from home. The people are always very friendly. The food is ready quickly and super tasty. We'd love to come back!

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself seems a bit bland and doesn't have much of a pleasant culinary journey. The food was okay, but I've had much better Indian food.

It was definitely ok. The service was nice and attentive. The lamb curry was tender and crumbly, but tasted more like a German goulash. I usually don't like Indian food, so I only give it 3 stars for the time being. We would still go back and try something different. The store itself is nicely decorated and very clean. The loud Indian conversations of the staff at the counter were also a bit disturbing. Still: 4 stars overall.

The food was good. We ordered Chicken Biriyani, Naan, Butter Chicken and Rice! Naan was the best among other items. Strongly recommended!

We were very happy to have eaten there. It was incredibly tasty, very very inexpensive and a lovely experience. We will be back definitely!!! The price was unbeatable, the staff was very accommodating and the atmosphere made you feel like you were on vacation. No wish remains unfulfilled there. This restaurant is a real insider tip. We had lunch, which was reasonably priced. The portion size was also reasonable. Since I have already tried a lot of Indians, this one was unfortunately below average. The rice smelled slightly musty and overall it was unfortunately very Germanized Indian.

We have been here twice now, although we rarely go to Rostock and Warnemünde. Here, dedicated staff cooks and serves, putting great food on the table. Don't be put off by the ambience, which is a mixture of a former Chinese restaurant and Indian decoration. We would definitely like to come back here

The order took far too long, there was only one waiter for the crowded restaurant and last but not least the waiter forgot to serve an ordered meal...

Very tasty food! This was our second time at the Maharaja. We enjoyed it very much and almost couldn't move afterwards. You might have to wait a little longer but it's definitely worth it!! Everything freshly prepared and perfectly seasoned. Thank you very much for being here...a restaurant like this has always been missing in Lütten Klein! See you soon ! Magda and Karol

The food there is really tasty even if you don't like it spicy. If you like it spicier you can add more seasoning as you like.

Es war unfassbar lecker und die Portionen riesig. Das Servicepersonal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen wieder!!

Großzügige Portionen, schnelle Zubereitung, super Geschmack - besser kann man es nicht beschreiben. Die Gestaltung des Restaurants war soweit in Ordnung, aber es war, wahrscheinlich wegen der Möglichkeit der Bestellung / Lieferung, am Ende sehr leer. Wir empfehlen euch, einen großen Magen mitzubringen!

Super leckeres indisches Essen. Das Ambiente könnte noch etwas gemütlicher sein. Es erinnert ein wenig an einen Speisesaal. Trotzdem absolute Empfehlung - auch Preis/Leistung stimmt.

Wir waren spontan mit der gesamten Familie dort. Endlich ein gutes indisches Restaurant auf dieser Ecke. Wir haben uns durch die Karte durch probiert und sehr viel bestellt, es war ausnahmslos alles super lecker. Der Service war auch einwandfrei, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir können das Mahajara absolut weiter empfehlen, und wir werden auf alle Fälle wieder kommen.

Freundliches Personal. Man könnte zwar öfters fragen , ob man noch etwas bestellen will aber sonst sehe gut.Das Essen ist sehr lecker. Die Einrichtung wurde vom Vormieter übernommen und wirkt deshalb noch etwas gemischt mit dem chinesischem Stil. Sonst sehr sauber.

Heute Abend haben wir im Maharaja gegessen und waren schwer beeindruckt: Sehr freundlicher Empfang und Bedienung, ganz wunderbares (und wirklich reichhaltiges) Essen sowie ein ausgesprochen angenehmes Ambiente. Ein ganz ganz großes Lob an die Küche!!!

Großartiges Essen in authentischer Atmosphäre und mit freundlicher Bedienung. Und das auch noch zu fairen Preisen. Absolute Empfehlung!

Wir haben hier sehr gut zu Abend gegessen. Das Personal begrüßt einen freundlich. Das Essen war frisch, sehr lecker und die Preis-Leistung ist wirklich herausragend. Auch wenn man merkt, dass das Mobiliar aus der vorherigen Gastronomie übernommen wurde das Restaurant schön hergerichtet. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Essen sehr lecker Nettes Ambiente und freundliche Bedienung

Hatte Lamm Mango. Sehr zu frieden. Das Fleisch war mega Zart! Und sehr lecker. Immer gerne wieder. War zum zweiten mal dort und hatte Lamm Curry. Das Fleisch war wieder suuuuper. Es hat köstlich geschmeckt.

Wir kamen nach einigen Monaten zurück, aber zu unserer Überraschung waren die Preise um mindestens 20-25% höher. Kaum 5 Stücke Hühnerfleisch in einer Schale mit Currysauce...Das gleiche gilt für Paneer. Auch absolut nicht genug Reis für zwei Personen. Wir hatten damals das gleiche bestellt und die Portionen waren großer und 3 Eur preiswerter..Auch ein Bier für 5,50 eur finde ich unverschämt. Schade..

Ein völlig unterschätzter Inder! Das Essen ist verdammt lecker! Empfehlung: Bhatura Fladenbrot, Yogitee und dazu das Palak Paneer. Das Mittagessen für7,50 ist wirklich günstig.
