The restaurant is located in the basement, but it's nicely decorated. The food was good, although I unfortunately had a piece of chicken that wasn't cooked through, but the rest was quite tasty.

We came because of the extensive and clearly stated vegan options on the menu, and it was worth it: a beautiful restaurant (as you'd expect from a classic Indian restaurant), friendly service, and extremely delicious food. The prices are a bit steep, but it's definitely not a fast-food joint.

Went as a couple and when we arrived the restaurant was empty - it was early on a weekday which was kind of expected - however the only staff member/waiter left us for about 20 minutes before approaching us - he was tidying the bar - I thought it was a bit weird to not interact with your only customer or take their order for nearly 20 mins? The food was below average - chicken was like jelly, not sure it was even chicken? But was not tender it was like eating jelly cubes. Drinks were room temperature and expensive. I felt like because it was a weekday and they had no customers, they seemed to not be bothered, which was a shame as we had high expectations.

One of my best Indian dining experience in Germany. I ordered alu paratha and chicken soup. The service was very fast and food tasted perfect! Very nice choice of background music, made me feel nostalgic. I would definitely come again to taste other dishes.

We used to go to Bombay House very often and were usually very satisfied. I don't know why, but a lot has changed and not for the better: 1. In the past there were always these chips with five sauces on the house - they are no longer available. 2. Sauces were not very seasoned, almost tasteless 3. Breads also have a completely neutral taste 4. the new ambience is okay… We will go to Jyoti again, it tastes much better there!

We cannot recommend the place. We ordered a Bombay menu and the food was put on the table in a confusing order. I asked for information about which dishes were what and got a confusing explanation for a single dish... and the waiter was gone. The waiter was nice enough, and offered us the bill - before we had the dessert 🥴

Yes, where do I start... the food from my two men was ok but not like you would expect from an Indian restaurant. But for me it was really a disaster. When I ordered the food, I asked kindly if it could be spicy, and she said yes. When the food arrived and I tried it, I realized that there wasn't even a slight spiciness in it. I asked if she could bring anything else so I could sharpen it. She then took my plate with her and the cook poured a good amount of chilli oil over it, so that my food became inedible after 4-5 bites. I then continued to eat dry rice. Unfortunately, I didn't get it right when I ordered dessert. It's a shame the restaurant was recommended to me and I was super disappointed. Will never go there again.

If I could, I would give 0 stars. We actually always liked being here. Unfortunately, you can see again what the service can ruin here. Starting with the cocktails: "we can't do that for technical reasons" to the discussion of why only 3 courses are served in a 5-course menu. The icing on the cake was a bill for which it was not possible to pay separately because the ladies were not able to use the PC. When we complained, it was pointed out in a very unfriendly manner that they were only human. There was also a lack of understanding because we didn't give a tip. We were treated as if we were outcasts. Unfortunately we won't be coming here anymore. Too bad. Maybe you should rethink your personnel structure.

A completely unprofessional mess. The food came after 1 hour. The waitress no longer knew which food belonged to which table. There were constant mix-ups. Some guests simply took a meal so they could get something. One waiter for the entire area. The plate for two people was so bad that it didn't live up to expectations at all. We were there for Valentine's Day and arrived at a time when seats were moderately full. With a reservation for two, we were spontaneously (it seemed disorganized) seated at a table near the door. The food was served quickly and, as always, tasted delicious. However, what really annoyed us and why we will avoid this restaurant was the behavior of the boss: As time went on, the restaurant became packed and many guests were waiting at the door for a table. After 2.5 hours (we would definitely have liked to order more) we were asked by the boss in a stressed and annoyed tone whether we wanted to order anything else, otherwise we would need the table (the thumb was used to indicate standing guests). We were NOT given a time slot when we made our reservation over the phone, which is why we were very surprised. It was simply outrageous. We then spontaneously decided not to order anything else because the boss was groaning annoyed and stressed as we walked past and, to be honest, we no longer felt welcome and were indirectly asked to leave. As a restaurateur you can't allow yourself to behave like that these days, especially not with the prices! As always, the staff were super friendly, so I can only praise them, but the boss really needs to work on his ability to coordinate reservations. If you overbook yourself, it is never the guest's fault. That was just incredibly unprofessional! It's really a shame because the restaurant was one of my absolute favorites in Rostock. For my part, I won't be eating there again for the time being, because no matter how busy the place is...a guest should always feel welcome.

The food was quite tasty, but unfortunately you couldn't end the evening comfortably. After the meal we were refused further drinks because we were supposed to leave the table for other guests. We were not told this when making the reservation and we felt thrown out. Okay, then we won't be coming anymore.

The delivery for the order (4YKMGY) was inedible. Instead of duck fillet, we almost only got fat and skin. When we complained over the phone, the owner was unreasonable and refused to provide a refund.

We have ordered vegetarian thali and bombay thali. Both tasted good.

The restaurant had good reviews, so I placed an order through Lieferando at 9 p.m. that evening. Rarely have I eaten such bland and poorly prepared Indian food... the chicken was raw, the sauce was watery and very tasteless. 0 stars would be even better...

We visited the Bombay House after it reopened and were pleasantly surprised. The vaulted cellar gives a cozy impression, the service was great, and the food was both tasty and reasonably priced. We spent a lovely evening there with friends and would love to come back.

Ambience a bit playful in my opinion and not all Indian decoration. The food was a little under-spiced like Indian cuisine for my taste. I think that more attention needs to be paid to quality instead of quantity when I read the reviews. Because it seemed to have been a really tasty restaurant a while ago. It's rare to find such a good Indian. Even if the decor is a little different in one place or another than you would expect, the food is really worth 5 stars. Had food delivered yesterday and we have to say the food was one of our worst deliveries ever. The meat was basically cooked/fried completely dry. The frozen vegetables had a disgusting sauce on them. The mixed pakora was also in the lower third in terms of taste. Unfortunately we had to throw away the food when it was barely touched. For around €43.00 I definitely expect a better meal.

We enjoyed eating at the Bombay House often last year. As soon as you walked in the door there was a delicious smell of typical Indian spices. The food itself was always of excellent quality. The meat was tender, everything was well seasoned with the typical Indian spices, fresh ginger, garlic, etc. The North Indian Palao rice was a real culinary delight. Now, after six months, we had dinner there again. No great smell of spices when you come in or when the food is served. There was still hope for a good taste, but unfortunately we were disappointed. You couldn't taste any fresh ginger, garlic or coriander. The lamb was burnt black on the outside and completely tough and dry. The vegetable patch consisted of 90% white cabbage and was "crowned" by a solid red ready-made paste. The Palao rice, which has always been my personal highlight (lots of fresh garlic, ginger and tender vegetables) tasted like nothing. The quantity of food was sufficient, but the quality was a disappointment. The two of us paid 68 euros for 2 drinks (water and beer) and 2 normal meat dishes. We'll probably look for another Indian restaurant now. It's a shame that the quality has deteriorated so much.

The food is not recommended. We had two dishes: a lentil dish yellow dahl and the chicken chilli chicken. Both not very spicy and fatty. The flatbread was gray and tasteless. The papadum wasn't baked at all, but still like it came out of the packaging. Cucumber salad was okay. We won't order again.

I had Indian food for the first time today and I was really surprised at how delicious the food was. My initial “fear” of spicy food was, thank God, unfounded. The variety of flavors was simply excellent and I will definitely eat Indian more often now.

This restaurant is my absolute favorite restaurant in Rostock. The selection is huge, so you'll never get bored. The food always takes you on a journey full of taste explosions. The ambience feels divinely Indian, making you feel comfortable and like you are in another world. The boss is personable and generous with the liqueurs. I've been there 5 times so far and it never gets boring.

This cozy Indian restaurant is only an 8-minute walk from the Neuer Markt. Ate here one evening. Cozy and quiet place with really delicious food. Had two different dishes with lamb and they tasted super good and the meat very tender. Can highly recommend this place.

Umfangreiche Speisenauswahl. Sehr lecker zubereitet und angerichtet. Das Servicepersonal ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Gerichte sind im Vergleich zu anderen Restaurants für das was geboten wird wirklich preisgünstig. Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert.

Es gibt schon einen Unterschied zum Erlebnis im Restaurant und wenn man bestellt. Früher gab es beim Bestellen standardmäßig Brot und Saucen dazu. Heute meist nicht. Im Restaurant ist es bisher immer lecker und reichhaltig gewesen. Viele neue vegetarische/vegane Gerichte.

Seems like the food was old. Sauce and chicken had probably been laying in pot all day. Chicken was chewy. Sauce was bland and seemed like it came out of a glass. We ordered 4 adult portions and food was served in about 5-7 minutes. Most likely already prepared food that was served. Good authentic food should take time. Service was ok. Good atmosphere. But bland food.

wir waren in den letzten tagen essen. Das Ambiente ist sehr angenehm und man fühlt sich sehr wohl. Der Service war sehr angenehm und nicht aufdringlich. Die bestellten Getränke und Gerichte waren sehr schnell am Platz, obwohl wir nicht die einzigen Gäste waren. Auch musste man nur kurz in die Richtung des Kellners schauen damit man seine Aufmerksamkeit hatte. Das Essen war überaus lecker und für uns, aktuell, das beste indische Restaurant in Rostock. Wir hatten einen Gast aus Indien mit und auch ihm hat es sehr geschmeckt. Einziger, wirklich sehr minimaler, Kritikpunkt ist, das die Schärfe eher "europäisch" war, obwohl wir "indisch" bestellt hatten. Wir hatten uns die Reste des sehr umfangreichen Essens einpacken lassen, so das wir sagen können das es auch am nächsten Tag noch sehr lecker war. Gerade weil die einzelnen Bestandteile separat verpackt wurden und nicht der Reis und die anderen Bestandteile einfach zusammen gekippt wurden. Wir waren definitiv nicht zum letzten Mal da.
