We were with a group in the next room. That was very nice. The food was delicious and you also enjoyed the mango lassi. However, the noise level was very high. Conversations were only possible in the immediate vicinity. Overall, highly recommended.

I'm thrilled! Everything is just right here! The food is delicious! My chicken was tender, the sauce was a flavor explosion and you can choose the level of spiciness yourself. The employees are very attentive and courteous, the food comes quickly. The wine list offers everything your heart desires, from Indian to Baden wines. The atmosphere is colorful and cozy at the same time. I'm already recommending the restaurant to all my friends and wanted to do the same here. I'd love to come back. P.S: The price-performance ratio is unbeatable for Hamburg

Very good choice, unfortunately the dough for the samosa was a bit too thick. Main course butter chicken was very good. Come back next time.

Attention: The food and ambience were basically good, but we were charged a whopping 16 euros for the advertised plate of papadum and dips, which is usually free or for a few euros. This is definitely a rip-off.

I went there yesterday with a friend, the food was great! There are many vegetarian dishes, you can choose between 1-5 in terms of spiciness. The place is really cutely decorated. The waiters were in a very good mood, making visiting the restaurant really fun :-) Hence 5 stars Update from 1/25/25: Yesterday we ate in the restaurant again. First of all: the food itself was just as delicious as last time. But: The main restaurant was packed. When we told the waiter that we had reserved, he said just wait outside and I'll bring you over straight away. That irritated us, and also the 5 people who came after us. The waiter then frantically led us to a room a few meters down the street. It was extremely loud there and the tables were far too narrow for our opinion (so narrow that you couldn't even get through between the tables.) The waiter wasn't unfriendly but extremely stressed and rushed (of course, twice as much space to serve). It's a shame, everything that made the restaurant "special" is completely lost in this side room.

Absolut ungenügend,das Curry mit 3 winzigen Stückchen Huhn war absolut eiskalt. Das war das schlechteste Abendessen der mindestens letzten 10 Jahre.

Tourist trap! As other reviewers have already mentioned, this is unfortunately a waste of money. It is pretended that you are given some bread (naan bread) in advance. This comes with a few different dips, about which nothing further is said. We were charged around €20 for this. Drinks are also served large, even though we didn't order them. I got a large Bionade in a glass for the first time in my life. Overall, it seems to be a scam for the many tourists in St. Pauli. Since we are Hamburgers, we will avoid this place in the future.

We ate there today with 4 people, the table was pre-booked. Very nice service! We ordered various main courses at really acceptable prices for this area ;)! We gladly accepted the suggestion of a little bread as a starter for everyone. Although the restaurant was very busy, the drinks arrived after three minutes and the food for four people came after about 15 minutes. And it was a poem: super tender meat with great rice, excellently seasoned. Very good and the price-performance ratio was also convincing. Class! We were very satisfied! Negative: We had to pay EUR 6.50 / person for a little bread, which didn't do the whole thing justice. The reserved table was in the middle of the restaurant, where people occasionally bumped into each other, which was a little annoying. Still overall really recommended.

A feast for the senses, thank you! We became aware of the restaurant during a tour of the district, decided to definitely go there for dinner and yesterday was the day. Eating here is a real experience for all the senses. Service was very attentive and friendly, the Shiraz was a feast, the food was excellent, the dessert was incredibly tasty and varied and so we had a very successful and wonderfully impressive evening!

Basically, this is a great Indian restaurant and the decor is very colorful and special. The food is super delicious. However, there is often a lot of hustle and bustle here and the coziness suffers as a result. It also depends a lot on where you sit. The quality of the food is great, but could have been warmer.

Wir bestellten 2 verschiedene Gerichte mit Lamm. Lamm-Korna und Lamm-Tikka, aber obwohl die Zubereitung unterschiedlich war, schmeckten die Gerichte völlig gleich. Es war nicht die Erfahrung, die wir erwartet hatten.

Good food, arrogant service Whether it is true that this is the best Indian in Hamburg may be true. In any case, the food is well prepared and tasty, and also plentiful. But unfortunately there isn't much good to report either. The restaurant is filled to the last square meter with tables, and in some cases (no joke!) you can hardly get between the tables to get to your seat without stretching your butt over the table and food to the person sitting next to you, or even causing the dishes to fall off. And finally we enjoyed the full arrogance of the service. If everyone orders their food individually, they should be able to pay individually. But: “Let’s not do that!”. One person has to take over the entire bill and then you have to settle your own share between each other. Perhaps, we were told, there would also be the option of billing individually at the checkout (so far ok), but you would have to expect a considerable waiting time. It doesn't work at all!

The staff was very friendly. The food was really delicious. You will also be asked how spicy you want to eat and you certainly won't be disappointed. The mango lassis were amazing!

It's really great there! I've been there several times and also some of the other stores! Food is super delicious! The service was super attentive, just as you would expect in the catering industry but rarely has it. Here every wish is really taken into account and fulfilled. And you can even read between the lines! It tastes great and the atmosphere is authentic! A down-to-earth restaurant is run here with love and attention! Prices are very fair!!! And the range of vegetarian and, above all, vegan dishes is also very diverse! This is one of the top addresses in Hamburg. Keep it up!

Aug 24, we family of 4 were on a weeks Holiday in Hamburg and we ate 2 times in this restaurant. While roaming around we decided to have Indian Food,Joshi Ji attended us and ensured our daughters gets Kinder Fav Aloo Paranthas. We got specially customized Paneer Version which was comparable to Delhi/Lucknow taste. Infact i met the Owners and they both are very Polite. Mr Satish(owner) is actually from my hometown which was even special. I met the magicians who prepared the food and they all are very kind and generous. If I visit Hamburg next time i will definitely eat here.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant !! A waiter spilled an entire plate on my coat, leaving it ruined with a grease stain, and the manager did absolutely nothing to address the situation. I even took it to the dry cleaner but they couldn’t fix it. Completely unprofessional—avoid this place at all costs!

DANGER !! RIP-OFF!! At every other, reputable Indian restaurant you get a small basket with bread and some dips from the kitchen as a greeting. Here too, only here they cheekily charge 15€ (!!!)!! The "boss" (who, by the way, can never be spoken to and is cowardly hiding somewhere) and the entire fraudulent team should be ashamed of themselves!! By the way, the food wasn't anything special, everything was pretty bland.

Stopped here as part of a culinary city tour. Restaurant is beautifully designed, waiters were friendly and attentive. Vegan ragout with rice wasn't really my thing. Mango Lassi was OK, but I've had better ones. Menu is very worn out and needs to be updated.

I can't understand these good reviews at all. I've never eaten such miserable food. A big disappointment for the price, I don't understand where the reviews come from. Fortunately, we were already aware of the rip-off through the reviews here, which meant we were at least able to avoid it. An absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! As soon as you enter the restaurant you feel at home, but the real star of the evening was definitely the head waiter. This person is simply stunning - charming, funny and with a charisma that lights up the whole room. His humor is simply unbeatable, and he manages to not only put a smile on your face, but also bring a hearty laugh to the table. You almost wonder if he's secretly a comedian! And if that wasn't enough, the food was also to die for. Perfectly prepared, lovingly presented and a real highlight in terms of taste. This combination of excellent food and service that makes you feel very special makes the restaurant an absolute insider tip in Hamburg. The next time I'm in town, one thing is certain: I'll definitely come back - for the culinary delights, the great atmosphere and of course for the best dose of humor you can get in a restaurant!

Warning... rip off... We went there for dinner on the weekend. Basically everything is good. Service was pretty quick, food was okay too. But: At the beginning I was asked in the German/Indian dialect in the hustle and bustle if we would like some bread. Since it's quite normal to get a little something before dinner, I of course accepted the offer. Then a bread basket and 4 small pots of sauce arrived. I was a bit surprised about the size. On the bill was this bread basket including sauces for a total of 11.50 euros. I would never order something like that in my life. I also ordered a cola. 0.5 liters were served for 6 euros... This way you can also generate additional income. But I call that a rip off. This has happened to other guests here several times. Too bad. Actually a nice place. But they seem to rely on passing customers who won't come back anyway. It happened the same way at our table next door. I'm going to get the consumer advice center and the trade inspection office involved.

If you are frustrated by Indian restaurants in Germany serving food that just isn't spicy, this place is for you! They have a scale of spiciness from 1 to 6, with a level 5 already genuinely packing a punch. But it wasn't just hot, it was both beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Quite possibly the best Indian restaurant I have been to in Germany so far.

The dishes are from different regions of India. If you are looking for authentic Indian cuisine, you will find it here! If you don't like the smell of incense sticks, your chances are bad. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The ambience is comparable to a middle class restaurant in India, I personally felt very comfortable. We got a table without a reservation, but it is very full and I would recommend reserving in advance.

It was one of the best Indian restaurants I have visited. It is as authentic as it can get. The staff was friendly and polite and they recommended dishes as well. They also had really regional Indian vegetable curries, which normally other Indian restaurants do not have. Would totally recommend it.

We discovered this restaurant on a side street in St. Pauli and spontaneously got a table without a reservation. The food tastes excellent, there is a large selection (including vegetarian dishes) and special requests are also taken into account, such as changing the dishes or adding more sauce. Top! The staff is really very, very friendly and accommodating, great service, but unfortunately everything is a bit cramped. Definitely recommended and a very good choice in Hamburg!!

We always eat at Maharaja's, on special occasions but also just for lunch, and it always tastes super fresh and delicious. The menu offers an impressive selection of authentic Indian dishes and every single one we tried was a real treat. The flavors were perfectly balanced, the spices harmoniously balanced, and you could taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients in every bite. I would particularly like to highlight the Chicken Vindaloo. Price-performance ratio is mega. The service is also very attentive, friendly and always willing to give recommendations or respond to special requests. There was often dessert on the house. It's obvious that there are people working here who love their work and take pride in providing their guests with an unforgettable experience.

Food Quantity is very Low. The cost of food is expensive according to the Quantity served. I ordered Veg Biryani and I was very Hungry but the Quantity served was very less where I was still Hungry although spending huge amount of money. I will never come again.

No wishes left unfulfilled. We wanted to have a quick snack - then we passed by by chance. Something for everyone, with and without meat. The portion sizes are also great. It tasted wonderful and we would love to come back!

Wir kommen schon seit Jahren und heute war das letzte mal. Wie schade, aber bewusst über den Tisch mag man dann doch nicht gezogen werden. Wie hier schon in mehreren Bewertungen erwähnt, bekam ich statt eines ausdrücklich kleinen Getränks ein großes. Ich dachte das wäre ein Versehen also was soll's. Aber nun habe ich in den Bewertungen mehrfach wiedergefunden, dass statt kleiner Getränke einfach die große Variante für den doppelten Preis gebracht wurde. Auch die Nummer mit dem "möchten Sie etwas Brot dazu" - welches dann insgesamt mit 7 Euro auf der Rechnung landete, und dem "Chutney-Teller" für sechs Euro, der aus den typischen 5 kleinen Sößchen bestand, die man sonst kostenlos bekommt, haben wir genauso erlebt wie hier bereits von anderen Gästen beschrieben. Bei den Soßen wurde nicht mal gefragt, ob wir sie denn möchten. Unter aller Kanone ! Wir kommen aus Hamburg, kennen den Kiez gut und von so dreisten Maschen haben wir in den 80ern zuletzt gehört. Erlebt hatte ich sowas selbst noch nie. Schlagermove als Revival mag ja ganz witzig sein. Ein Revival des alten Kiez-Nepps ist es nicht. Das Konzept sollten die Inhaber vielleicht nochmal überdenken, denn das Essen an sich ist eigentlich sehr lecker. Aber wenn man für dumm verkauft wird, wirkt auch die Freundlichkeit der Bedienung nicht mehr als aufgesetzt. Ich bin echt entsetzt und stinksauer. Macht es gut - bzw. besser. So eine Masche solltet ihr eigentlich nicht nötig haben.
