We discovered the GANDHI by chance during our visit to Hamburg. The food was very good, everything came to the table quickly and hot and was very tasty. The service was really excellent. And as a farewell there was a red 🌹 for me. Nothing more is possible. Price-performance ratio is surprisingly good for Hamburg.

After a very long journey, due to delays, we spontaneously decided to visit the restaurant. We received a very friendly welcome. Our coats and bags were taken from us by the staff at the cloakroom. The ambience can best be described as warm, friendly, cozy, and decorated in a modern Indian style. The staff are very courteous and attentive. The food was beautifully presented and of impeccable taste and quality. We agree that 5 stars is actually too low to rate this establishment, but we will compensate for this with regular visits in the future. We would be happy to return. H&C

One of the worst Indian restaurants in Germany. I have been living here since 12 years and this is one of the bad experiences at an Indian restaurant. The food is tasteless, overpriced and ridicoulsy small portion. We ordered veg biryani and it was all watery with pre cooked rice mixed with frozen vegetables and masala paste. The kofta balls were medicocre and not flavourfull at all. Another surprise is they don't serve Raita with the Biriyani!! We had 2 small portions of curd served after we explicitly requested. They don't accept card and only cash and the reason given to us when we visited on 11 April 2025 was some construction work interuptting the internet line.

The food was very tasty, the service was really nice without being over the top. We spontaneously looked for a restaurant and felt very comfortable - keep it up👍👍👍

The food was terrible. I ordered palak paneer which was sweet and but it’s no which was soaked in water. On calling and providing feedback, the answer I got was that this is the way we make it, as everyone has their own style. The person on the counter was sweet but he did not take what we said very seriously. This is worst experience with Indian food after having tried over 100 Indian restaurants throughout Germany. If you are looking for authentic Indian food, I would suggest choose another place. :)

Three times five stars! From the reservation to the welcome and service, the atmosphere, and the quality of the food: it was a pure pleasure to have dinner there. Highly recommended! Especially the Gandhi platter, for a first taste of tandoori cooking.

We had a starter and main course with dessert. The dishes were delicious, and the meat was super tender. The service was also fantastic and very friendly. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere and is beautifully decorated with large pictures on the walls. Definitely worth a visit.

We enjoyed a very good meal in a pleasant atmosphere. Starter and main course are more than sufficient, especially together with the greetings from the kitchen. The naan bread with garlic is also recommended!

Four of us just spontaneously went there for dinner. And I have to say it was really perfect and really tasty from start to finish. Starting with the extremely nice greeting, continuing with the very delicious greeting from the kitchen. Then the very good main courses. And finally the mega dessert plate. We had a spontaneous meal here with the family on Sunday. The welcome was extremely friendly. The dishes were all very tasty and visually appealing. Our special tip: definitely try the tea! Large selection also for vegetarians and vegans. Price performance ratio appropriate to the quality.

It is a very nice and quite good restaurant. The boss is very friendly and has his own charm. It was a bit cold at our window seat and therefore unfortunately a bit uncomfortable (January 25) The price/performance ratio was a bit excessive, which is why I would only like to give it three stars. Nevertheless, everything was tasty and good. Maybe next time the overall picture will be better for more stars.

That was a restaurant visit of the very first class. Absolute premium level! From the reception to the end, everything was just right and it didn't seem fake or fake, but real. We were guests last night (5 p.m.) with 8 people. Very friendly and courteous service, who gave us a warm welcome and took us through the culinary Indian cuisine for 3 hours (it didn't feel like it at all). Always a smile and a saying on the lips. Thanks to the owner for yesterday evening. It wasn't intrusive or annoying. My children also felt very comfortable. The atmosphere is cozy, very stylishly furnished and everything is organized very professionally. A glass showed fingerprints when pouring, the glass was replaced immediately, very attentive. Let's come to the food, it was very tasty, the selection was very large and the dishes were prepared very lovingly. At the end, each of the ladies received a rose and we were all given our wardrobes. To be honest, you don't experience something like this every day in the service desert of Germany, something like this should actually be standard. But I think this is also due to the mentality from India that the guest is treated like a king. We'd love to come back when we're in Hamburg again. Keep it up…! The 5 stars are absolutely deserved if you deliver 5 star service and 5 star food.

Visited Gandhi spontaneously today and for the first time. After the friendly greeting, we were escorted to our table. The table was very nicely set and matched the good ambience. Despite the rather small table, the three of us (2 adults + 1 toddler) had enough space. Over an aperitif we relaxed and chose our food, which the waiter was happy to accept. He also recommended a delicious chutney. Shortly afterwards we received a greeting from the kitchen and then our food. The dishes were perfectly prepared and very well seasoned. The service was professional, attentive and very nice. Our evening was rounded off with my wife getting a rose and everyone getting grappa on the house. We had a very nice evening and will definitely come back!

An absolutely amazing experience at Gandhi Restaurant! The food was authentic and incredibly delicious - every dish was perfectly seasoned and freshly prepared. I would particularly like to highlight the waiter Shiv who made our visit unforgettable. He was always friendly, attentive and gave us excellent advice. His courteous service rounded off the evening perfectly. I can only warmly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit. 5 stars are more than deserved!

A great restaurant with a lot of “heart” and an incredibly friendly owner who takes personal care of his guests! We felt completely comfortable in the “Gandhi” today. As a starter and main course we chose the special platter for two people - lovingly prepared and a real highlight in terms of taste! The delicious meal was accompanied by an excellent wine recommendation and a delicious dessert. At the end we were offered a digestif and the lady even received a rose. The ambience is stylish, with appropriate Indian music in the background, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Despite the slightly higher prices, we can fully recommend the “Gandhi” – an experience that we would be happy to repeat!

We have had an amazing evening with great food and wine! If you're looking for a special, romantic restaurant with authentic Indian food, we can definitely recommend this restaurant. The people working here are very passionate and give their best to make you have a very good experience. We had 3 courses with vegetarian dishes and I had the Punjabi tika masala (chicken) as mean dish. The chicken was super tender with very delicious aromatic rice and fresh vegetables. It is also beautiful to see how great they renovated location. We will definitely come back. (We discovered this restaurant after having takeaway, that we can also recommend).

The food was super delicious (be sure to try the garlic nan)! The price of around €30-35 per person is absolutely justified. If you want to spend a nice and cozy evening eating, this is the place for you.

Ghandi is our favorite Indian restaurant in Hamburg. We usually go to because of the distinctive ambience and the extremely good service Loved ones in person. As an exception, we ordered and after a very short time received a mega delicious dinner. Everything became warm And delivered deliciously. We even got two mango lassis as a gift :) This is a great way to end a cozy Sunday. Dietary restrictions and individual sensitivity to spiciness were also taken into account 🙏🏼☺️
