Maguro in Fürth

We've eaten here a few times, both with friends and family. The food and service are always good. The running sushi is a huge hit with the little kids; they rarely eat so much! In my opinion, it's great value for money. The restaurant is also neat and clean. Parking is free and right in front of the building. We highly recommend it!

Oh, what can I say? Everything is so delicious. And it's so nice to be able to choose whatever you like from the food on the conveyor belt as it passes by. You never feel like you're running out of anything, and the staff is always attentive. Everything is clean and nicely decorated, but of course, the conveyor belt adds a certain flair to the theme. A table by the conveyor belt seats up to four people. Highly recommended.

I called to make a reservation, and the waitress said she couldn't tell us if we'd still get a table. When I asked if she could tell me right away, she completely lost it and was incredibly rude, telling me to book somewhere else. Seriously, that's not good at all! Good luck with your business.

Yesterday I went to Maguro with a friend. The staff was very friendly, and we really enjoyed everything at the conveyor belt sushi counter – all very fresh. We'll definitely be back. We went there for lunch today for the conveyor belt sushi. The selection was really poor, and the food looked and tasted like it was from the day before. There were mainly sweets and fruit on the belt. A few maki rolls here and there, but that was it. After asking, they brought us two nigiri each. Otherwise, they kept preparing the same bland sushi. I definitely wouldn't go there again. Not recommended. The price was okay at €13.80 for lunch, and the drink prices were fair too. However, the food really wasn't very tasty, and the selection was poor.

We were there for lunch today and were really looking forward to it. At first, there was a small selection of basic sushi, but nothing special. Eventually, nothing new was added, and at times, the conveyor belt sushi consisted of 30 plates of only sweets or small maki rolls. To me, that wasn't conveyor belt sushi at all, but simply desserts on a conveyor belt. We won't be coming back; it's really not recommended if you want to try a variety of cool sushi.

Unfortunately, we can't comment on the food, as the whole experience was a complete disaster. Even when ordering by phone (online ordering wasn't possible), there were significant language barriers. I was constantly interrupted, which didn't help communication at all. I had the impression that my name wasn't understood correctly, but when I asked again, I was told it was. When we arrived today at exactly 7 p.m. (for the running sushi, they only assign "slots" on the hour), our name was clearly not found. We were asked to wait. Then, guests who arrived much later than us were given tables, while we were ignored. When I asked why, I was told very rudely that it was only 7 p.m. and we would be served soon. When I suggested that our name probably hadn't been understood, the waiter became very aggressive. This is not what we consider politeness in Asia. At that point, we'd had enough and left. Now we're sitting in the Indian restaurant "Dana und pani" diagonally opposite. We were kindly given a table, the atmosphere is much more pleasant, and our order has already arrived. We certainly won't be visiting Maguro again. We went there once before the pandemic, and everyone was friendly then, and it wasn't so hectic. Even though restaurant service has deteriorated significantly, you can still find restaurants that are both good and friendly.

The food was good, and the atmosphere seemed clean and nicely decorated. My only complaint was the €15 minimum order for card payments, which isn't ideal for quick lunch orders. Otherwise, I'd gladly come back.

Great running sushi, clean restaurant, but price transparency is lacking. I visited Maguro in Fürth and had a very positive experience. What I really liked: Selection: The running sushi conveyor belt was consistently well-stocked. There was a huge variety of dishes. Quality & Variety: There was a large selection of good sushi with many different types (maki, nigiri, rolls), great hot dishes, and various desserts. Service & Atmosphere: The restaurant was very clean, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Negative Point: The price overview could be better. Unfortunately, there isn't much information online about the current prices for the running sushi. Overall, it's a highly recommended all-you-can-eat experience!

The food served was very tasty. What was unpleasant was that when we mentioned at the checkout that there had been almost no bowls left on the conveyor belt for a while (at least 15 minutes), the waitress said we could complain to the manager, but that would mean we would be banned from the premises. Our concerns were presented calmly and politely. The waitress immediately became loud and abusive. This is, unfortunately, a completely unprofessional way of dealing with customer reactions. It's a shame that friendly, constructive criticism is not accepted. Given this kind of treatment, I'm wondering whether I would want to go there again, despite the good food.

We were there for running sushi in February 2025 and à la carte in August 2025 – both times we were very satisfied! The sushi was fresh and delicious, the à la carte dishes arrived quickly and were beautifully presented. We would especially like to praise the friendly and attentive service. We would definitely be back!

The staff was very friendly and we got a table right away, even without a reservation. The food was of good quality, but you shouldn't expect too much; it ends up being just plain sushi. We liked it for the price and will be back.

The restaurant is actually very good, price-performance ratio is good too, but I keep trying to go back and eat here but I'm always put off with a new excuse. Sometimes there are no seats left in an empty restaurant, other times the running sushi is apparently about to close even though it was still running when I drove past it again later. I always come alone and don't order anything to drink. I get the impression that they just don't want me to eat. I even arrive perfectly at opening time and it seems like everything is already full, so there's no need to bother me... 😀

We actually saw insects in the sushi fridge—absolutely disgusting and revolting! Something like that should never happen in a restaurant. Hygiene doesn't seem to play any role here at all. It was an extremely unpleasant and shocking experience for us. We will definitely never return.

We went there with the whole family and ordered a particular dessert that we really enjoyed. When we asked for a second serving, we were told they had already sold out. So we paid and left the restaurant. To our great surprise, however, we saw shortly afterward that this very same dessert had been served again! In addition, the used plates were not cleared away the entire time, but simply left on the table. Everything piled up, leaving a very messy and unpleasant impression. This kind of behavior is completely disrespectful to the guests. It shows no appreciation and no trace of courtesy. As a paying customer, I expect honesty, transparency, and a minimum standard of service—not to be turned away while the tables are left looking unkempt. This was an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience for us. This is not how you treat guests, and we certainly won't be coming back.

Too many guests reserved at the same time. Unfriendly staff. Seated a bit at the end of the line, and nothing arrived, and no more food was served. Waited 15 minutes for a table, which meant we only had 45 minutes to eat, and were asked to pay early.

We've been there twice now. The running sushi is okay, but nothing special. I'd rate it lower, as there are much better running sushi places for the same price or even less. The staff was acceptable on our first visit, but absolutely unfriendly on the second. If you value unfriendly service when visiting a restaurant, this is the place for you. We won't be going back to this place, and given how empty it was on our last visits, I'm sure others feel the same way.

The sushi was very good; even on spontaneous visits, the à la carte dishes are ready within 20 minutes. The staff recommended that I make a reservation or call ahead for the running sushi area. The staff were very friendly and accommodating both times. The prices are within the normal range for a good sushi restaurant and, in my opinion, reflect the quality of the ingredients. I definitely recommend it, but ultimately, it's a matter of taste.

Never again 😡 Edit: Regarding the owner's comment: Sorry, I understand that you don't want individuals sitting at the running sushi table with à la carte options. But there were FIVE of us, and only one wanted à la carte. Would you have seated a stranger? In a nearly empty restaurant (many other guests couldn't have claimed to want the same). We specifically chose this restaurant because they serve à la carte dishes. Incidentally, that worked fine on our last visit... I wanted to sit with my friends and not alone at the neighboring table, where à la carte would have been allowed. Understandable? So I had a choice: we could leave the restaurant, and the four sushi eaters would be disappointed, or I could watch the four of them eat and sip my drink, which I did, of course, because I didn't want to be a spoilsport. It was a good thing I had two small instant meatballs in the fridge at home, which I could eat over two hours later so I wouldn't have to go to bed hungry. Tolerating the fact that someone has to stay hungry in a restaurant isn't service worthy of the name.

The sushi selection used to be better, but it can't keep up with other running sushi offerings anymore. However, why a new 5-star review accuses other reviewers of stealing, like "you've been taking dessert from tables a few times," seems more like a review of the owner to me...a little odd. Furthermore, the owner lets Google delete bad reviews instead of addressing the criticism professionally.

Yesterday, three of us went to Running Sushi with a few friends, and it was simply wonderful. The ambiance was diverse, and the staff was friendly. I don't know where all these bad reviews suddenly came from. Regarding the comment about the child who ate from the menu and "begged" from Running Sushi: You often took dessert from tables even though it wasn't your right. What you did was STEALING. It's only natural that you have to pay for what you take, as a little reminder to your parents. I don't understand all the fuss about it either. There's a reason why Running Sushi and the menu are separated, to avoid such a problem, but you still steal and didn't want to pay for it in the end?

A really nice Running Sushi place. The food was good and you get to try a variety of selections. I would suggest visiting a little earlier than their closing time. Would recommend it for a fun experience.

Update July 10th: Now the owner isn't just deleting critical reviews, he's apparently creating fake reviews to spruce things up. The latest reviews are all from accounts with few reviews and are structured the same, some even referencing the few reviews that haven't been deleted yet. A tip for the owner: instead of investing money in review-removal companies, buy a variety of sushi ingredients... then maybe things will improve again. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend Maguro. The sushi selection is getting smaller and smaller, and the "good" sushi with fish is becoming increasingly rare, but it's always the same cucumber or crab meat substitute. The restaurant is very large, but empty, as most of the food is limited to running sushi. Table service is okay, but most people don't speak German. Google reviews are apparently being deleted; otherwise, I can't explain the remaining good reviews. I used to be really happy with Maguro, but now I avoid it and prefer to go to other competitors.

I actually wanted to give it three stars because, although the food was small, it was good. The extremely unfriendly service ruined my evening. She came running over like an agitated chicken just because my son had "bummed" three mini muffins from other guests at the running sushi. Denn mittlerweile ist das Angebot im running sushi sehr dürftig geworden und das Band bei meinem Besuch um 13:00 nur noch so gut wie leer gewesen. Ein paar langweilige Sushis mit Gurke (Lachs eher rar, mit Thunfisch wird sowieso seit Monaten nichts mehr angeboten) fuhren umher... Das hat sich in den letzten Monaten immer stärker in diese Richtung entwickelt. Als Stammkunde wird man mich verlieren (sowie es bei dem Wasabi bereits der Fall ist). Schade...

It was our first time there. We ordered from the menu. The food was good. The service was okay. But the most unfriendly thing was that at 8:55 PM, we were informed that the kitchen closes at 9 PM, which is fine. At 9:20 PM, we were asked if we could take the payment. At 9:30 PM, everything was ostentatiously cleaned and mopped, and at 9:45 PM, we were told they were locking the door. We couldn't even finish our drinks. However, opening hours are until 10 PM. We didn't feel comfortable and won't be back. It's a shame.

The oil in deep fryers is not changed at all, not when they just add something that looks black. He also takes tips from people at the table. Everything is cleaned and wiped with the same rags, not taking into account that there should be different rags for the kitchen, bar and tables in the hall. It’s the same with toilets, everything is cleaned with one rag, whether it’s the kitchen, the hall, or the bar. Work without gloves, and if sushi workers wear them, then these are gloves that are for one-time use, but they are used until they are completely torn. What surprised me most was the attitude of the boss who saves terribly, sees all this and treats everything normally. Completely unsanitary. But you can’t tell from the outside. If everyone cares about your health, I do not recommend this establishment.

The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated. Besides running sushi 🍱, there are also plenty of places to eat à la carte. There's the occasional special sushi (very tasty), but during peak times, they serve the standard fare. There's very little tuna. But otherwise, the food is pretty average. Unfortunately, on our last visit, our daughter felt sick after 5 minutes, and we had to leave. We had to pay full price. They could have been a bit more lenient. 50% would have been fair in my opinion. Anyway, we haven't been back since and are looking for an alternative. My wife can't resist. We went again. All the portions on the plates have gotten smaller. There are only standard sushi items now. I think the highlight should be the sushi roll with colored rice. I think the prices have stayed the same... Unfortunately, it's not getting any better. What a shame. Unfortunately, it's not possible to eat à la carte if the rest is from the conveyor belt. I can partly understand it, there are families who take advantage of this…

I had a pleasant visit to this restaurant. The atmosphere was clean, the food was delicious and the staff was friendly. However, a point was deducted because three employees couldn't tell me which plates at Running Sushi were vegetarian. The answer “You can see that” was a bit clumsy and could have been worded better. I think this can be improved slightly, but overall it was a solid experience. I can imagine coming back, but hope for better communication next time.

The madness! An employee made an error during the reservation. The boss and the team acted very quickly and very accommodating and offered us a single seat while we waited and served us immediately. Pleasing: the Maguro has a double deck. There is a sufficient selection of European sushi downstairs - lots of maki, lots of sashimi, lots of avo and cucumber, little exotic, little more elaborate, but it's enough if you're hungry for sushi. At the top, Asian and generally popular small dishes pass by: sautéed chicken, the 8 treasures from the depths of Chinese cuisine, of course the champion mushrooms, marinated sprouts and cooked cabbage but also fresh fruit, pieces of cake and puddings. You eat on time, drinks are brought to the table by the waiters and payment is made at the counter. It's not outstanding, but definitely good.

We have been there several times before, but today's visit was the last. We were charged €6 for a 1.5 year old child. We also had to pay €2.50 to have the child's drinking cup filled with some still water. The lack of words. We have never experienced anything like this anywhere. Absolute no go!

Sushi okay. Service employee nice. BUT! Charging €5.90 for an 18 month old child who ate 2 nuggets and a melon is an outrage, topped by charging €2.50 to refill her water bottle (not 200ml). That's cheeky and I've never experienced it in this way before. We have been here many times but tonight was the last time. Enriching yourself with children is outrageous, especially since the food is not “cheap”.

We always really enjoyed eating here, but now we don't come anymore. The service is not good, the employees are so incredibly unfriendly that you don't dare speak to them. There are many dough dishes on offer, there used to be sweet and sour sauce on the line, but now it costs €1.50 extra. The selection has become a lot less, but the hourly price is higher. I advise everyone here and everyone I know personally to stay away from this restaurant and without a crystal ball I already know that this restaurant will not be able to survive in the long term because no one will come here anymore with this kind of service.

Clear recommendation for this great restaurant. But we've never had running sushi here. We always eat sushi a la carte. And that is super delicious. It is beautifully prepared and is always absolutely fresh and tastes fantastic. We like coming here.

We were there for the second time, but also for the last time. The kitchen should be open until 9 p.m. We placed our order at 8:20 p.m. When we were the last guests shortly after 9 p.m., the restaurant began to be cleaned. Mopping the floor, cleaning the glass panes of the Running Sushi (with just one cloth and cleaning agent for all glass surfaces, cleaning is different) and last but not least, vacuuming. Eating with the cleaning crew is not possible at all. Our complaint was met with incomprehension. Sorry, that doesn't work at all!

The only good thing was the shrimp skewers. Our in-laws ordered something from the menu and the quality was OK. However, they waited about 15 minutes before they could even order and waited 45 minutes for the food. We finished our running sushi lesson before you. All in all... we won't be coming back.

Four of us were there yesterday. We had to pay 8 euros for my daughter. She is two years old and has eaten one and a half nuggets plus 3 lattice potatoes. You should consider whether this is justified. At 6:10 p.m. the conveyor belt was already stocked with lots of dessert. There was less sushi. We then ordered a second sweet chilli sauce for spring rolls and chicken from the waitress as there was nothing left on the conveyor belt. There were no special variations of sushi, just standard stuff. A lot of it was from the freezer or mini dounats from the discount store, but there was plenty of it. My mother is handicapped and has a severely disabled person's ID and identification card. Because her disability wasn't obvious, she was ignored at the counter when she asked for the key to the disabled toilet a second time. Right from the start she had to discuss the fact that not every disability is visible or that you have to sit in a wheelchair to go to the disabled toilet. The second time a waitress asked the boss for the key, she shook her head, said something to the waitress, who went to the dishwasher and ignored my mother. No one gave her access to the toilet. A conversation with the boss, who we held the ID card under, only revealed that not everyone there could speak German... A very disappointing visit. You just want to make money. Service and friendliness are very important.

If the restaurant staff starts sweeping around in the middle of the evening and drives past the guests' tables several times with a loud floor cleaning device, guests are probably not really welcome... We will not visit the restaurant. Too bad.

Very poor selection for the price, sometimes half of the conveyor belt was completely empty. Just because it closes at 9 p.m. doesn't mean I can't fill up the band after 8 p.m.! As a vegetarian you shouldn't be hungry... Sometimes the things drive for hours and are already completely dried out.

We were there for lunch and today for dinner, ate the running sushi and were very satisfied. There is also a la carte The salmon was fresh and tasty and not stinky fishy, ​​unlike some other restaurants. We liked the selection, even though things get sold out very quickly if you don't have a good place. It was great that sashimi was offered and nigiri was also offered personally with the cart. A small wish would be if there were more basic sushi variations without cancer, as we had quite a lot of it when we visited. The sushi was very good, the rice was perfect and not mushy/grainy. The service was friendly and quick, and the prices are fair. We'll definitely be back!
