Based on the small menu and the fancy appearance, we expected good things and were bitterly disappointed. The food was unfortunately not good at all. My schnitzel was small, completely burnt black around the edges and much too thick, the breading was dripping with fat and anything but crispy, the potatoes were overcooked and drowned in butter, the asparagus was poorly peeled and completely inappropriately overseasoned with coarse black pepper. I think the chef must have never seen a real schnitzel, let alone tasted one, because this was, unfortunately, a complete waste of veal. The prices are also very high, far too high for these truly poorly prepared dishes. The only valuable thing about the food was the china it was served on. Very nice service and a lovely restaurant in a beautiful location. Online reservations were available, which we took advantage of - but ultimately, no table was prepared for us. It's actually a gold mine, but they're obviously not trying to make money here. The waitress had to turn away at least (!) 10 to 15 people because they were closing at 8 p.m., which annoyed the waitresses just as much as it annoyed us guests, as they were chasing away guests (or people who wanted to be guests) behind their backs. I advise against a visit until perhaps one day it's properly run and a trained chef is in the kitchen.

Since the terrace opposite was occupied by a (noisy) birthday party, we took the last free table of the few available by the building. It turned out to be dirty from the birds in the climbing plants, which wasn't immediately obvious due to the impractical tablecloth. The two of us were able to use the "outer" seats. Then we waited about 15 minutes for a menu. After another 15 minutes, we were able to order (you can choose from, among other things, four types of homemade pasta) and then 20 minutes later our pasta arrived on pre-warmed (!) plates. Unfortunately, it was presented very carelessly. There weren't even any napkins! When ordering seafood pasta, you expect large shrimp and mussels. But you can also do it, as they did here, using one of the common frozen packages of cheap mixed seafood with tiny shrimp and mussels. In that case, the price should reflect the quality. Finally, we still wanted to treat ourselves to a panna cotta for dessert. That was a complete disaster – so tough you had to chew it. Either it was a week old or the cook had dropped the gelatin packet into the pot. Inedible. Unfortunately, I had already paid immediately (to avoid waiting any longer). There was no complimentary grappa or anything like that either. In short: not only is the price-performance ratio off...

The menu is straightforward, but everyone will find something they like. The food is delicious and the service is very friendly. We'd be happy to come back on our next visit to Quedlinburg.

Good value for money. The food was okay. We had lunch, and it was good value for money. We'd go again.
