Magado in Magdeburg

The food was tasty, but nothing special. The servers must have been temporary staff, as they didn't even ask if we wanted anything else to drink or eat. We were a large group. The restroom could be better... you pay downstairs...

Bottomless, table right by the cash register. Guests lean on you while paying. Service was acceptable. The food still hadn't arrived after an hour and a half. When we left without food, we were given a stupid look and told that it was full and that it was normal. The carpaccio was nothing special, and they didn't even serve olive oil or lemon/lime.

The food was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Special requests were no problem either. We'd be happy to go back.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant. The menu is clear, but there's hardly any choice. The side dish selection is too limited: no rice, no croquettes, no puree. The sauces are made from instant powder, and the vegetables are meager. If vegetables are in season, I want them too! The sauces and vegetables were cold. The ice cream is not recommended; it's probably been refrozen several times and doesn't taste good at all! I'm very disappointed; I've been eating the same food for years. The price-performance ratio is nowhere near right. I will avoid this restaurant; for the money, I expect quality and fresh ingredients.

Very friendly service, the food was okay, but the pesto pasta with feta was lacking in flavor (I could only find three small pieces), and the bruschetta was too soft and not crispy, even though it looked great. So overall, it was good, with a bit of room for improvement. 🙂

Well, what can I say? I find a breakfast buffet with coffee for €16.90 quite cheeky. I've only seen such a terrible buffet recently at a 2-star rest stop hotel. The selection is a complete joke. Service: Well, very pushy, coming to the table and asking why something hasn't been eaten yet, whether it doesn't taste good. Sorry, but every guest eats for different amounts of time. Especially at a breakfast buffet. Atmosphere: Broken chairs and torn lampshades. And the restrooms weren't clean either. All in all, I think the good days are numbered. We were completely alone in the place for breakfast.

We were here for a late Sunday brunch. Everything was still full (huge selection, hot dishes, plenty of salads, and plenty of savory and sweet options), and the staff were very attentive and friendly.

This was our first time at Magado and we were absolutely thrilled. Not only was the food excellent, but the service was also very friendly and attentive. It looks like it's becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Magdeburg!

We sat on the terrace, which is comfortable but a bit out of sight of the staff. Sometimes it took a little while to order. The food was delicious and the portions were generous.

Das Magdo gibt es zwar schon etwas länger, aber wir haben es erst jetzt zum ersten Mal besucht. An einem heißen Samstagnachmittag sind wir mit unseren Kindern spontan auf der Terrasse eingekehrt, um ein Eis zu genießen. Das Magdo kommt allerdings nicht an das frühere Eiscafé Palazzo ran. Wir bestellten zwei Kindereisbecher, ein Spaghetti-Eis und einen Bananensplit. Die Kindereisbecher wurden zuerst serviert. Eine Eiswaffel war Teil der Dekoration. Da die Eiskugeln allerdings schon anfingen zu schmelzen, rutschte die Eiswaffel ab. Die Kellnerin richtete sie mit bloßen Händen am Tisch zurecht. Das geht absolut gar nicht. Der Bananensplit war der schlechteste, den ich je gegessen habe. Er bestand aus Schoko-, Vanille- und Erdbeereis mit einer schon braun matschigen Banane, die von Sahne und Schokosauce überdeckt war. Mein Fazit ist, dass ein Besuch schon zu viel war.

When Magado first opened, I was very excited and thought it was a really nice place. The food was very good. Recently, I haven't been recommending it. Especially with a dog, you only get awkward seats. Unfortunately, the coffee doesn't taste good at all. It's a shame.

We actually wanted to go for currywurst. Unfortunately, Curry54 was permanently closed. So, in a bad mood, we went into town to look for burgers. We ended up at Magado. Friendly service, delicious food, and good cocktails. The cake was also great. However, due to the central location, it was a bit more expensive than usual. The burger and fries were great, but definitely not XXL. More like a regular size. That would be the only drawback. 4.5 stars

Easter Sunday - Brunch with the family. It was very crowded and a bit cramped at first because all the guests were hungry and ran to the buffet. Still very well arranged, large selection from spicy to sweet, cold and warm dishes. The service was very accommodating. We'd love to come back.

Anyone who sells expensive food has to do it well. The burger meat is just dry. The bun was bone dry. Dab of mayo+ketchup from cheap sachets. The ambience itself is restless and uncomfortable. However, quick service. ....Overall, I don't have to have it again.

We went to Magado for Sunday brunch for the first time yesterday and were more than satisfied. Nice atmosphere, friendly service staff, everything was spotlessly clean and delicious food and drinks. The buffet is constantly being replenished and new dishes are constantly being added. We also thought it was nice that all the dishes were labeled. The salads were consistently very tasty and the scrambled eggs were one of the best we have ever eaten in the restaurant. We would be happy to recommend you and will definitely come to you again ourselves.

Service was great! Very accommodating and nice. Nice, sufficient selection of breakfast, but I was missing scrambled eggs. The Otto macaroni casserole was okay. Nothing special and tasted mostly like cream. The chicken burger was tasty but not enough fries for the price (15.90) Yeah, everything was okay, but not a runaway.

We are absolute repeat offenders when it comes to Sunday brunch/breakfast. There is always something different and so there is always enough variety to be surprised even on the 20th visit. The service is great and everyone is wonderfully attentive, but not intrusive. The ambience is just beautiful! We always enjoy coming to Magado and can absolutely recommend the brunch and breakfast! For us the best way to end the week with culinary delights in Magdeburg 😊

I absolutely cannot recommend the house coffee (Magado), at least in white. The menu says it would be white chocolate with espresso. In fact, it seems to be a kind of latte macchiato with syrup. It was also incredibly sweet, so much so that I had to return it. An extra star for the service, including the fact that I got it replaced. But it had nothing to do with real white chocolate. Label fraud.

We got seats for 6 people for 2 hours in the afternoon on a Saturday without making a reservation. I found it very correct, even though Magdeburg was playing.

The best restaurant in Magdeburg

Always very nice and friendly. Always nice and varied. I like going there for brunch. 2024: it takes too long to deliver, over an hour, then the pasta carbonara tasted nothing, just plain cream.... no spices on it. My partner's sauce leaked out in the bag because he didn't have anything big.... . I wouldn't have it delivered again, since we live around the corner and it took over an hour and then it didn't have any seasoning and didn't taste like anything.

On November 16th, 2024 I visited the restaurant and ate a rump steak, which I shouldn't have done. The whole ordeal began in the evening when I was constantly vomiting and at the same time suffering from diarrhea. Now I have received a diagnosis from the doctor that this is food poisoning. Thank you too. Once and never again.

Had dinner yesterday and enjoyed the breakfast buffet today. Everything was very tasty. Something different like casseroles is also on the menu. At breakfast, the egg dishes are freshly made. The staff is very nice and friendly. We will definitely come back when we are in Magdeburg again.

Restaurant review for Magado in Magdeburg During my two-week stay in Magdeburg, I ordered a pizza salami, pizza bread and tiramisu by phone to pick up. So I can only concentrate on these dishes. Ordering by phone was a bit tedious because the lady on the phone wasn't informed about the full menu and often had to ask her colleague, who was fortunately standing next to her, for advice. The location is in a good location and is stylishly furnished, which is a positive thing. Unfortunately I wasn't happy with the food. I know it's hard to rate a pizza when you vacation in Italy every year and have the pizzas there as a reference. The pizza wasn't bad, but far from an authentic Italian pizza. There are now many pizza makers in Germany who offer this quality. The pizza at Magado reminded me of Gustavo Gusto, perhaps with a slight edge in quality. The pizza bread was also rather disappointing and tasted quite bland. The dip that came with it was tasteless and the amount was far too small. The tiramisu was okay, but the ratio between mascarpone and sponge cake was not optimal; there should have been a lot more mascarpone. If you're hungry you can order here, but you shouldn't expect too much. It doesn't taste bad, but it has little in common with a typical Italian pizza or a classic tiramisu. I can't judge what the other dishes are like, but visually the dishes that were brought to other tables looked very appealing. I can imagine that the other dishes are far better than the pizza, as pizza is an art that you have to master.

Everything was freshly prepared and tasted excellent. The drinks in particular were a highlight - they were not only delicious, but also creative and matched to the selection. There is a solid breakfast buffet here at a fair price. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The volume level is significantly lower than in Alex, for example - making it a perfect place for breakfast with friends if you also want to chat.

Classic, modern and tastes good. A spontaneous visit to Magado, there was the Otto burger. Characterized by a slight spiciness and spicy burger sauce, the burger was rock solid. The meat was fried okay, unfortunately the "special bread" was a normal sesame seed bun. Classic, tasty lasagna. Sufficient portion, served in an earthenware bowl. Panna cotta unfortunately already prepared with a slight refrigerator taste and extremely sweet fruit sauce. Fast service, after the first order there was hardly any demand for further requests etc.

I was there again for breakfast with my girlfriend a few days ago. We made a reservation in advance, but it wasn't necessary as there was still plenty of space during the week. The waitress was friendly, showed us to our seats and immediately asked if we wanted drinks. After filling our plates at the small but extremely tasty buffet, we spontaneously moved to the larger table next to us, which wasn't a problem. The drinks were brought quickly and the freshly prepared scrambled eggs also arrived quickly. Unfortunately I didn't manage to try everything, but I'll go again tomorrow 😜. The kitchen fairy is also very positive - she is always friendly and available to say a few kind words and the food is really good. So a thumbs up for you. Only the toilets should see a repairman - I had the door handle in my hand when I wanted to close the door 🤣. Therefore a point deducted for the ambience.

Went to “Magado” for lunch with my partner. We were placed very well and the waitress brought us the menu straight away. We each chose a main course from the extensive menu. As a starter we chose the bruschetta together. Then for my partner the pasta with beef fillet tips in a light tomato cream sauce and I chose the pizza with Mediterranean vegetables as the main course. After ordering, the waitress brought us our drinks straight away. As soon as we knew it, the bruschetta was brought to us. This tasted super delicious. Then our main courses came, my partner really liked the pasta. The tomato cream sauce wasn't too heavy and was well seasoned, and the pasta was still slightly al dente, so it was just right. My vegetarian pizza was simply great. Loose base and the tomato sauce was also quite good. The only point of criticism was that the vegetables on the pizza were cut too large, which made the pizza a little difficult to eat. All in all it was a decent lunch for us. 🍕🍝🍺🥃 Conclusion: the Magado is really recommended. We will definitely go back for dinner.

I was looking for a location for a private celebration with around 20 people and since I have always been very satisfied here, I chose the Magado. The arrangement was quick and uncomplicated and on the corresponding day we had a sufficiently large table in the upper area, where it was nice and quiet so that we could have a good conversation. As far as I could tell, everyone really enjoyed the food and the staff came by regularly to check if any more drinks were needed. From my side there is a clear recommendation and the Magado would also be my first choice for similar events in the future.
