Super cozy restaurant with absolutely fair prices and a good atmosphere! The tarte flambée was large and really fair at a price of €12. Feel free to come back here!

What was striking was the great friendliness and good mood with which I/we were welcomed. Such humanity has become rare in recent times. The pizza, especially the dough, was delicious. I/we would be happy to come back.

It's a good place to dine and have drinks. I think food was okay quality. I ordered pasta Amatriciana. It didn't taste that good. I could only eat half or less of it. They took good minutes to come to table for the order. We didn't have drinks for first 10 minutes or so. So, I guess service will be okay.

It's the average joe of restaurants. Nothing was really special. But also nothing was really bad. Food was average, service was average, and the atmosphere was... average.

The service was very nice and the ambience with the brick walls is also nice. Unfortunately it took quite a long time for our order to be taken and the background music wasn't to my liking, but luckily it wasn't too loud. Strangely enough, the table that arrived 5 minutes after us got their food earlier, but other than that the 20 minute wait was fine. The pizza was very large and tasted good, but unfortunately the mixed salad came after the main course. Overall nice restaurant in a good location

Well attended restaurant, food is good and plentiful. But a bit cramped in terms of space.

Very chic restaurant, we ordered pizza and tarte flambée and everyone was happy. Sicko Mode was on while we ate and after the main course we were allowed to light the Sambuca we ordered at the table ourselves (under the supervision of the boss). 10/10 would eat again.

Pasta and tomato soup are very salty

Everything was perfect from the start. I'm just visiting here in Munich and ate a pizza here that was really delicious. Not only do I think the waitresses put in a lot of effort here, but for me it is the best restaurant in this entire city. To be honest, I don't understand the negative comments, but they clearly confirm my impression (and that of the whole of Germany lol) of Munich residents as spiteful, privileged and absolutely rude people. But the waitresses at maex are not like that, as this is where I felt respected and valued as a customer for the first time. I will definitely come back for a pizza! Keep it up and thank you :)

Very rude service - I am absolutely disappointed This restaurant used to be one of my absolute favorite places that I visited very often. However, on my last visit, I had a very unpleasant experience with one of the employees of this restaurant (a blonde, curly-haired, middle-aged lady). We politely asked them to bring the bill immediately as we were in a hurry and didn't want to wait. Instead, she ignored our request and simply disappeared. When we asked her about it later, she claimed that she hadn't heard us - even though she had previously assured us that she would be there shortly. There was neither an apology nor any insight. On the contrary: she reacted incredibly rudely, shouting after me that I had supposedly exaggerated and behaved incorrectly. Such unprofessional and disrespectful treatment is simply unacceptable and very unprofessional! In my opinion, a simple apology would have been the bare minimum here. I will definitely not recommend this restaurant and will never visit it again. LG Daria

My new favourite pasta place for a quick lunch in Maxvorstadt. Wide choice of pastas and pizzas. Many indoor and outdoor options to sit during the working days. We had Carbonara and Scampi spaghetti and both dishes were massive and tasty. The personnel speaks English.

We had tuna pizza and Primavera pizza at Maex41. It was very delicious. For those who don't like oily food, it might be a little greasy, but I really liked it. The portions are quite filling. The service is excellent. Sometimes they even approach and ask to measure the level of service. There is ample seating inside and outside.

We waited 1 hour for 2 cocktails and I had the worst Cuba Libre of my life. I didn't even know it could be messed up like that. The cocktails were really bottomless.

We were there on a Friday evening. The service staff was very friendly. The food was excellent, very tasty (salmon tarte flambée, pizza parma). Our friends were in Munich for two days and ate there twice and recommended the restaurant to us. The waiting time was reasonable. We would certainly have had something to drink after dinner, but our table was simply cleared away without asking again if we wanted anything else. We'll definitely be back. Good value for money.

We went for an aperitif, Aperol Spritz and beer. Atmosphere at the large tables on the wooden terrace is better for eating.

I don’t understand how this restaurant has such high rating. One of the worst experiences I’ve had. The waitress was so rude, as if she was doing us a favor by taking our order. The food was not even average, a frozen pizza tastes better than this. Won’t be coming here again.

A very cozy, family restaurant where you immediately feel welcome. The food is great and the penne curry with salmon is great. We have been coming here out of conviction for years. Regardless of whether you are 15 years old or 90 years old, you can feel comfortable here and the price/performance is perfect. See you next time. And I (Spezi without anything)

5 people. 5 long drinks. 40min waiting time. Any non-carbonated drink. Second round the same. Absolutely bad. If you demand high Munich prices, then please also demand appropriate quality and service.

Spent Sunday afternoon in this restaurant. I ordered the curry penne which really wasn't recommended. Curry was absolutely not palatable, penne unsalted, mushrooms from a jar, far too oily. The chef completely missed his own creation here, sorry. But not worth the money. However, spaghetti carbonara can be eaten. I find it strange that the next table didn't get parmesan but instead got chilli garlic. For us it was the other way around even though the dishes were the same? Unfortunately the food is not authentic and unfortunately doesn't really taste good... Unfortunately, the service was completely overwhelmed, which made the whole thing negative.

When we were out and about at lunchtime we passed the Maex 41. The choice for the Maex41 pizza was spot on. It was light, tasty and, as described, a slightly spicy salami. I also tried the pizza veggie - simply delicious. The employees were quick and friendly, even though the store was quite full later. Keep it up - we felt very comfortable and will be back!

The food is good and not so expensive. We have been many times and recognize the more experienced waitress carrying the front of house. She's great. However, the management need to support her better and train the younger members of staff, who were more or less idle during a Friday night rush hour. We waited 40 mins just to be served a couple of helle. Seems the staff were too busy being stressed and arguing with each other to apologize for the delay. Multiple tables served before us. A shame. At least the drama was somewhat amusing.

After our order was lost and we still had to wait almost half an hour for our food, a tip was asked for in addition to the amount and when this was rejected, €10 was added to the bill, so I ended up paying €10 too much, even though this would in no way be fair

The ambience of the restaurant is quite nice, even if you like it very rustic. The location is very lively, of course due to university life. Me and my partner decided to have a little something to eat and drink there. Due to a storm that prevailed at the beginning, things appeared quite chaotic at first, but this continued throughout the evening. The bartender was initially with us with drinks, which had, however, been ordered for the neighboring table. He then asked us after we had already been sitting for about 20 minutes if we had already ordered. The bartender was friendly and took our drink order straight away. Another 10-15 minutes passed before someone asked us what we wanted to order for food, or we had to pay a little attention. Another group of 6 people had already arrived before we arrived and were still sitting there without food or drinks. The food order was then carried out and after a good 45 minutes the time had finally come. The food was okay so far, I can't say anything negative about it. The service was friendly, but the long waiting times made it a somewhat unpleasant experience. It seemed very unstructured and chaotic, especially when the staff stood in front of us several times with other drinks or food that had been ordered for another table. We don't have a problem if it takes a little longer, but I think 20 minutes just to order a drink is a bit much...

A cozy restaurant that doesn't seem Italian at first glance. During my visits, Maex41 was particularly frequented by students, as well as by craftsmen. I guess because of the lunch specials, 95% of which are under 10 euros and everything is delicious and filling. In addition, there is very attentive service with friendly waitresses. So overall great!! I have long recommended it to friends!!

The worst restaurant I have ever experienced in Germany!!!!!!! Eating takes too long... Service really really bad, service very snooty and unfriendly and the table next door had the same opinion as us. I can only advise against the restaurant 👎

The food was great, but the service didn't convince us. The table we were seated at had not been wiped and was only cleaned after we had been sitting for a while and to top it all off, one of the service staff asked us in a very rude tone, despite a reasonable tip, a maximum of a minute after we had paid: “Stay Are you going to sit for a long time?”… I just wanted to finish my story. Sales are probably everything here

The restaurant is nicely furnished, but the furniture is already showing its age. The waitress was particularly friendly. The pasta was good, the salad just mediocre. We had to wait quite a long time for the food. The prices are OK.

Worst pizza I've ever eaten and just a disgrace; It's a far cry from an Italian restaurant. The Prosciutto e funghi pizza was bone dry. In return, my veggie pizza was juicy but cold and the pizza with ham and mushrooms had more vegetables on it than my supposed vegetable pizza. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo... it was a margarita with decoration, there was a yawning emptiness with maybe 8 mini quarter slices of zucchini and peppers each. When I describe grilled vegetables, I imagine a little more than zucchini and peppers. How about mushrooms or artichokes or something else but something like that was just sad. I'm actually annoyed that I didn't let this pizza go back without saying a word. My stomach ache from the stuff yesterday still reminds me of it the morning after. Regarding the service: we waited 25 minutes for a special bottle and a light beer, while others who ordered after us received the second round of drinks. Well, we were just unlucky with the waitress. We said sorry three times, the drinks were missing, in the meantime she lit candles and handed them out, talked to colleagues, disappeared for 10 minutes and you weren't allowed to order from other waiters again... The crowning achievement was being cheeky towards us. I think we would have left without a word if we hadn't gotten another waitress who was fitter. Well, if we had done it, we'd never come back Thanks for your answer, that was the evening of December 29th, 2023. Unfortunately, the slightly older colleague wasn't nice and anything but quick. Fortunately, the two young waitresses who were great served us later. Everything would have been half as bad if the food had been great, but unfortunately I thought that was a disgrace, a real shame.

Toller Italiener mit überwiegend Pizza und Pasta. Aber auch Flammkuchen sind hier zu haben. Die Vier-Käse-Pizza und die Thunfischpizza waren fantastisch!

36 Minuten warten auf ein Bier und eine Spezi, 3 x bescheid geben das noch kein Getränk gekommen ist. Alles war wichtiger als unser Getränk. 2x Pizza bestellt, kalt und nicht zu genießen....

Nichts Ausgefallenes auf der Karte, Pasta und Flammkuchen ordentlich gemacht, gute Portionen und günstige Preise. Tolles Lokal für großen Hunger und gute Alternative zu den überfüllten Lokalen direkt im Zentrum.

Wir sind durchs Studentenviertel gegangen und vor lauter Hunger haben wir uns für dieses Restaurant entschieden. Kellnerin war sehr nett und hat gleich unserem Hund Wasser gebracht! Wir saßen draußen an diesem schönen Tag! Leider ist der Lärm, wegen diesen Autoproleten, hier manchmal unerträglich! Deshalb gehe ich ungern an der Uni draußen essen. Wie dem auch sei, das Essen war leider nicht ganz nach meinem Geschmack.. die Gorgonzola Penne war leider nichts… die Pizza dafür war sehr ordentlich! Preislich gesehen war es auch etwas teurer, naja was soll’s!

Gute Lage. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Pizza war lecker. Nur im Lokal war es etwas kühl. Aber ansonsten hatten wir eine sehr angenehme Zeit. Noch ergänzend: auch die heiße Schokolade, sowie das Tiramisu wurden gelobt.

Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr aufmerksam und nett. Einen großen Lob möchten wir jedoch für Selda aussprechen, die an dem Tag unsere Bedienung war. Weiter so.
