It’s probably the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had! There aren’t many tables and it was a bit busy when I arrived, but it was definitely worth waiting. The prices are really good too

The staff there are so rude it's unacceptable, just like all the negative reviews describe. They only accept cash, not cards. I paid, and they gave me the wrong change and kept 20 euros too much. When I noticed, I went back and told them, but they were very rude and did nothing. ENG You can find better food and better people in so many restaurants on Sonnenallee; go to Mae Charoen Thai Imbiss instead. Massaman was easily one of the best curries I’ve ever had.

We went out to eat on August 1, 2025. As soon as we entered the snack bar, I was hit by an unpleasant, fishy odor, which unfortunately didn't put me off too much. The Pad Thai smelled stale, and the chicken was dry. I ate it anyway, because that's just who I am. My partner ate part of it and left it. I actually like Pad Thai, and I've even been to Thailand before. It's a shame.

Super authentic Thai cuisine. There's limited outdoor seating, so I recommend ordering takeout if possible. Orders are prepared quickly and are delicious!

Following numerous local recommendations, we visited Mae Charoen Thai Imbiss to try what’s said to be one of the best Pad Thai dishes in Berlin. Expectations were high – but unfortunately, the dish didn’t quite live up to them. The Pad Thai was served quickly and the portion size was generous, but the overall flavor lacked the depth and freshness we’ve experienced with authentic versions in Thailand. It leaned on the greasy side and consisted mostly of noodles and bamboo shoots, with only minimal fresh herbs or vegetables. That said, the quality was decent, especially considering the low prices. The street-food-style eatery is very small, with only a few seats available – most customers opt for takeaway. The quick service makes it a convenient spot for a snack on the go, and while it might not be the most authentic Thai taste experience, it could be worth a second visit to try other dishes on the menu.

Unfortunately, the food isn't authentic at all. For example, Pas Krapao is served without a single piece of basil, which is the main flavor component of the dish.

It’s a very small humble place with great pad Thai, (maybe other good dishes too), but I’ve only ever ordered the pad Thai. The price is also completely reasonable. I always go back now and then.

The pad thai was really crazy, and the red curry was also really crazy. The amount is quite large. You can taste the spices just right, and when you take a bite, it's a taste that makes you smile. The curry is also really crazy... It doesn't seem to have anything special in it, but it's this delicious? It was a place where I wanted to review each menu item one by one.

I was persuaded to come here by the good reviews. However, after eating, I must side with the minority opinion, as all I could taste in my Pad Thai was ketchup. As I don't like ketchup, that made it quite unpleasant. People who like/love ketchup will probably have a great time here. The staff were very nice.

Wow. Very very tasty. I had 29, rice with tofu and curry, paid 8.5 euros.

I ordered the Massaman had an authentic Thai flavor that took me straight to the heart of Thailand. The richness of the curry, combined with perfectly cooked potatoes and tender chicken, made every bite a delight the rice felt small but ok. You can tell the aunties in the kitchen know exactly what they’re doing, bringing traditional flavors with a homemade touch. The balance of spices, sweetness, and creaminess was spot on definitely a dish made with love and experience.

Unfortunately it has deteriorated massively in the last 1-2 years. The chicken meat in particular tastes like nothing. Pad Thai sticks together completely and the taste has also deteriorated considerably. Tofu is also probably the cheapest from the wholesale market. I would also be willing to pay a higher price for more quality. Unfortunately, it is no longer authentic Thai cuisine. However, the staff is very friendly

Very small and simple place with good food. This place is very small, there's barely space inside, except for ordering. They only take cash and you pay as you order. The food was simple but good—what I expected from street food style. It was well prepared and served very fast. This is not the kind of place I'd get out of my way to visit, but a very good option if you are in the area and fancy something simple.

Pad Thai is good, but I don't know why the ladies are so unfriendly. Last time she looked at me and smashed the dish on the counter with a serious face without saying anything. Also almost every time I go there they raise the prices. So have to reduce 3 stars.

We ordered the pad thai with chicken, and it was actually very good. It felt authentic. The service is not very friendly and they do not speak any English. But beyond that, the food is very good.

Authentic, delicious, cheap. We went as a large group and ordered different dishes. We found the food incredibly tasty. You will definitely be full. The prices are reasonable. There is also a really great, warm atmosphere there. You feel good. Unfortunately, the seats go quickly.

The ladies that assist here are super nice, the price is really affordable for the amount of food they give. The taste is good, it can be better, but it's understandable. Drinks are a bit high on price, but it is also understandable. I can see myself returning here if i want something different one day.

My favorite Thai place in Berlin

We had Pad Thai and spring rolls today and live right around the corner. When we walked past the food always made a good impression. But it's a complete disappointment. Pad Thai consists only of noodles, some chicken, a touch of sauce and a few bamboo shoots. Never again!

Very small and fine shop. There are no more than three small tables. Food is breathtakingly good!

Unfortunately the pad thai was too sweet and less flavorful than expected. The ketchup was the dominating flavour. I missed also some crunchy peanuts bits that are normally served with the pad thai.

Real Padthai here from a Thai person review. If I want to eat glass noodle Padthai I always come here. I think it is a bit r-c*st to say it tastes like ketchup on some review. Hmm tamarind maybe, but ketchup.. wow

Despite the fact that the cafe has very little place to dine in, I go there with a great pleasure and don’t mind to wait in a queue or to take out. Portions are huge and prizes low!!!

Hmm, I was very pleasantly surprised. The shop doesn't look like much on the outside, and some of the food looks rather inconspicuous - but it really tastes very good. This is more than worth its (fairly low) price. Well, the seating is a bit cramped and uncomfortable, but there's nothing better in the area for a quick lunch. I will come here more often.

Ich habe lediglich Essen zum Mitnehmen bestellt und wurde bis jetzt nicht enttäuscht. Das rote Curry mit Garnelen ist köstlich. Preise sind in Ordnung und die Größe der Portionen ausreichend. 8/10 👍🏾

Generous portions and cute atmosphere. However, no hint of coriander in my curry, let alone copious amounts of fresh coriander on top. I didn't taste lemongrass, either, a little bland. Pad Thai has no real crunch. Didn't bowl me over and no match to street food in Thailand.

Tiny little Imbiss with tasty food. Have to wait for about 15 mins plus most of the times, but the wait is always worth it.

Mae Chaeron has to be one of my favourite places to eat in Berlin and in Neukölln especially. Great food, super quick, not expensive at all (especially for the quantity, sometimes it's like two meals) and miles better than most Asian restaurants around the same price point. It can be tough to get a place to sit there sometimes, but if you're getting something to go, it's always a good shout. The Kau Pat (fried rice) is my personal favourite but the Pad Thai is fantastic and so are all the curries, soups and the menu in general. I've probably been there 50+ times at this point and it rarely, if ever, disappoints. Huge thank you to the Thai aunties of Sonnenallee - we love you!

Hab mir hier grünes Curry bestellt und wurde nicht entäuscht, auch wenn es nicht ganz an die Thai-Schärfe herankommt. Es war aber schön cremig und hatte eine leichte Würze. Der Laden selber ist sehr klein und man bekommt zur Mittagszeit eher keinen freien Tisch, also drauf einstellen zum Mitnehemn zu bestellen.
