Madame Ngo Une Brasserie Hanoi in Berlin

I went on a Monday before 1pm and it was almost full. It arrived quickly after ordering, and the soup was gentle and delicious.

We were there today, had reserved, super delicious food, friendly good service, prices appropriate for the quality, if the restaurant existed in my hometown we would definitely do it again and on our next trip to Berlin too!

The quality of the food is solid, but nothing special. The Crevettes Truffle Mayonnaise for €12 was a good starter. The Kikoi chicken for €19 tastes authentic, but also a bit spartan. A rice pudding dessert with mango sorbet is necessary to fill you up, But for €10 the price is already borderline. The street food/bistro ambience is pleasant and lively. But you're also as comfortable as sitting in a food stall. In my opinion, price and performance don't really match. There are at least similarly good Vietnamese restaurants in Berlin for less money. This is symbolized by a visit to the toilet: in terms of standard, they don't go beyond a food stall. There is a damp kitchen roll at the unisex washbasin to dry your hands!

Absolutely delicious food and fast service. Went here in great company to discuss a movie, martial arts and how important precise language use can be for courtship. But all those topics were nothing compared to the pho, papaya salad and beef wok and self made summer rolls that we all enjoyed! Book well in advance because this place seems to be very popular.

Delicious meal. Classic Vietnamese flavours, tasty and fresh. Pricey, but you know that going in there. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the wine. Friendly service. Pleasure to recommend!

Appetizers are more exciting to me than the Pho. The Tartar 12/10

The restaurant is really nicely decorated and we had a beef pho and spring rolls. In terms of taste, everything was okay, but the pho was lacking in seasoning. The service was okay, but we felt a bit uncomfortable as we weren't even smiled at when greeting us. We somehow had the impression that we weren't really welcome, which is sad. The portion of the Pho was also a bit too big for my taste. I would prefer smaller portions at a cheaper price, then the price-performance ratio would be better for me.

Fantastic food, especially at lunchtime. The service is also great, but allow a little extra time if you stop by for lunch. It's still absolutely worth it!

Hi. The food itself was good. The pho has some power, but the spice is missing. But I think that's how it should be. The corn-fed chicken on rice. It's good, but everything is extremely low in salt. Visually great. The noise level was extremely loud and there was a noise from the canteen halfway through the evening. Prices: Berlin. 0.33 wheat 5€

As for the pho, it just feels like the broth is more luxurious than the regular pho noodle restaurant I used to eat. The taste was good. The price is not bad, perhaps because it is located in Kantstrasse, but it is not very reasonable. Maybe that's why I don't really feel like coming back and eating there again. However, personally, I made a reservation and went, but they kept trying to put away the uneaten food, which made me feel uncomfortable the whole time I was eating. We ordered pasta once for 15 euros and once for 19 euros, plus spring rolls with meat and a cola. The waiter then showed me a bill for 53.5 euros (without details). I paid 58 euros back then. Today I looked at the online menu and everything together would actually have cost 50.5 euros. I don't understand why the waiter did that and charged the customer twice. Even if it's not a lot of money, it's basically a scam. //The owner responded that the online menu may be incorrect. That's really a less than sincere answer. I wasn't looking at an old menu, but the current menu on your official website. Maybe the owner can please honestly tell me how much the food I ordered actually cost? So how much does 34 euros for the pasta, 13 euros for the spring rolls and 3.5 euros for the cola add up to??????? 53.5?😠😠

Incredible pho and creative drinks.

Been there a few times and always brought friends with me. But after today I don't want to come here anymore. I'm a little disappointed. The waiter asked all the guests whether they wanted to sit outside or inside, except for me! And I got a super “nice” seat, I can always hear the noise from the cutlery! And once I was shocked!

Reading the reviews I wonder if I actually visited the same place. People say it's authentic Vietnamese, but after having lived in Vietnam for a while I can say that at least it's not similar to anything I had during my time there. Then people mention affordable prices but honestly I found them pretty steep, there's other Vietnamese places in Berlin that I like more and that at the same time are much more affordable. The taste was nothing special, the veggies were cut in such big pieces that I thought maybe someone needed to work without a knife?! The problem might be that I chose the vegetarian pho, maybe the meat options are much better, but at least for vegetarians I would definitely not recommend this place. Ironically, people criticize the attitude of the service personnel, which in turn I found very nice, staff was friendly, attentive and quick.

The ambience is okay, but not a highlight. But friendly service and great, delicious food! Would definitely come back. 👍🏽 As a starter I can recommend the grilled pork belly, it was very good. The main course was salmon with curry and dill. Also quite tasty and successful, but not a 5/5 highlight for me personally. But great presentation! Would happily give 4.5 stars overall if it were selectable.

After my first visit, I was absolutely thrilled by the idea of ​​making the influences of French-influenced Indochina cuisine the theme. In the shop window of the former pharmacy there are three very large pots in which the base of the various Pho variants is simmering. So far and perhaps as expected, there is also hand-cut tartare de boeuf, carpaccio de Saigon, baguettes with a few toppings (roast, shrimp, pork belly) and always a special Asian touch. Recently it was a goulash that got its special touch with lemongrass. Crevettes Royal are certainly an appetizer to share, because if you eat alone you will gorge yourself on the warm truffle mayonnaise. Here it really makes sense to order and enjoy several small dishes together. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Service is great, the food is good and the waitresses are so nice. However, when I tried to pay with card they said the card declined and I needed to pay with cash which was fine. But after I checked my bank account I could see that they took money from my card as well :/ I’m sure it was an honest mistake but it is still a bit upsetting.

Excellent Vietnamese restaurant in Berlin. Space Pho

Booked an evening with friends at short notice. The food and service are excellent. A new experience in Asian food. All of our questions were answered politely and courteously and we received more than satisfactory advice. The dishes were very convincing. In general, we are very familiar with Thai cuisine - so a little change to Vietnamese cuisine. Conclusion: A beautiful little restaurant with excellent food. We'd love to come back. The slightly higher prices of the dishes are reasonable. There was also a noticeable number of staff present in the restaurant.

The starters were very tasty. Unfortunately, the main courses weren't that convincing. The broth of the Pho Ga smelled good, but the taste was rather average. Something was missing here. Quẩy was too greasy and not crispy. Bun Bo Nam Bo was a bit too cold. Prices are very high, both for drinks (€5 for 300ml beer) and food.

I can highly recommend this restaurant! The food was very good, it looked very good too. The service was super friendly and the ambience is also quite good, you could expand the music playlist, otherwise it's great. The toilets are also very clean and easy to find.

The food is super tasty, but the way we deal with customers who want to book in a larger group is extremely rude. At first it was almost impossible to make a booking. Secondly, ordering la cart is prohibited and you have to leave a 10% tip. I really liked this restaurant but find these conditions simply unacceptable.

Seeing that it closes at 16:30, we came here to eat at 15:50. According to the sign at their door, we waited for reception at the door. The three clerks passed by us many times and ignored us. After waiting for almost 5 minutes under the scorching sun, an idle clerk finally came out and said that they only had takeout. If you need to close the store early, you can modify the business hours and inform your customers early. It was baffling to be forced to wait in the hot sun.

Might one the best for pho and banh mi. Service is friendly. Though typical Duc, it is always priced up a bit above average for what it is. 18 euros for Hainan chicken? Come on. Ordered the beef tartare but got such a small portion for the price I might just make it at home. Also minor niggles: maybe this is a regional thing but the pho has no beansprouts and the banh mi is not spicy.

Best pho in town BUT their service is getting worse and worse! We are regular customers, our last visit was one month ago and the guy was not nice, we expected that was just an exception , we still wanted to give it a chance last week but still got disappointed even with another guys… are they becoming arrogant because they know their customers would still come back anyway? And they still expect to get tips? No way!!!! Then they even show a longer face 🫤 guys, we don’t ask for a great service but we don’t need that face!

Our visit to Madame Ngo was a direct result of a recommendation and I must say that it was an extremely enjoyable experience. We, a group of three adults and a baby, arrived at exactly 12pm and were pleasantly surprised to be seated straight away without a reservation. This is not a given at lunchtime, especially in popular places like this one. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the raw beef pho. The meat was tender and flavorful, perfectly complemented by the rich and flavorful soup base. It's rare to find such authentic and delicious pho outside of Vietnam. The speed at which our food was served was also impressive. Despite the obvious lunchtime crowd, we didn't have to wait long for our orders. Equally remarkable was the ambience of Madame Ngo. The conversion of an old pharmacy into a restaurant has created a unique and attractive space. Overall, Madame Ngo offered a completely convincing experience - from the fast and friendly service to the excellent food and the unique ambience. For anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a special setting, Madame Ngo is an absolute recommendation.

Not a great experience. Kitchen had forgotten to season the broth in our pho (we were offered a new portion later). Bill included a 7 euro bottle of water we never received. Waiter then asked for a tip, which felt out of place.

I had Bun Cha and Banh Mi. I have to say that it tasted really good except that the meat was seared a little too long so it tasted dry and charred and less juicy. The Banh Mi was missing a little more butter or mayo. Otherwise I would happily come back for Pho. The pot simmers all day. Dear!

Very nice atmosphere, nice service and good food, even if it didn't suit my personal taste. Unfortunately the service was very impersonal. After eating you were very forcefully forced to leave the restaurant. Drinks were no longer asked for, the bill was presented without being asked and the payment was made immediately afterwards, even without being asked. We wouldn't come back because of the unfriendly service and our personal taste.

Remember to make a reservation (otherwise you might have to wait, nevertheless the staff is so friendly they won’t turn you back) and then go and indulge. This is the best Vietnamese food for me in town. Simple and delicious! There are many vegetarian options too. The place is a bit cramped during rush hours, so this won’t be your romantic hideout, but in a cold Berlin winter evening it tucks you in for a warm experience. I love this place!!

The Vietnamese restaurant seems to be very popular and always has a long queue waiting for a table during busy hours. Got squeezed in but had to return the table within 50 minutes. Tried their spring roll, pho and chicken rice with a few drinks. The spring rolls which were freshly made were great. The soup of the phos with beef meat, meat ball and brisket were delicious but lacked the complexity we expected. By the way, you would likely be impressed when you see two large containers of deep boiled soup being prepared near the entrance of the restaurant. The chicken rice was okay and chicken meat did not have much taste. I guess it is due to the quality of the chicken they can source. There is no comparison with fresh free range chicken.

A lot of hype about not much! Madame Ngo - belongs to the row of hype restaurants on Kantstrasse but I have to say that it has really waned or is simply clearly overhyped. First the service and the ambience: Friday, Saturday and Sunday usually very busy. But it is a very small restaurant and therefore always very loud. Not a problem in itself if you want to eat pho - but with the prices at Madame Ngo you might expect a little more. The service is OK. Nothing special either. I've eaten banh mi, pho and bun nam bo here. The banh mi are really delicious, but not very special. To be honest, I think the price here is okay, and the portion sizes are good too. About the pho I can say: the pho bo is really very good, above average, but a relatively small portion (the take-away portion is really cheeky) and above average in price. You can definitely come here for sometime. The vegetarian pho is extremely disappointing and almost inedible. I have no idea if anyone has ever tried these, but when I was served them I thought it was a joke! I tried the bun nam bo to take away - it tasted great but again a very small portion. All in all, there are some really tasty dishes, but you pay more than at comparable restaurants and you can hardly relax at Madame Ngo. I think it would be more pleasant if either the food was a little cheaper and in larger portions, or there were just a little fewer tables/stress and better service.
