We enjoyed three exquisite starters and two tasty main courses, complemented by two non-alcoholic drinks. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit, but it is advisable to reserve in advance or bring enough time.

I tried Pho for the first time and ate it at one of the nicest places upon the recommendation of my friends. I tried Pho Madame Ngo with meat and I liked it very much. I just couldn't finish it because it was really filling.

Really the best Pho in all of Berlin. The atmosphere is very noisy and there are rarely free tables. Pho with filet mignon now costs €24, which is really a lot!

If you like Asian cuisine, this is the place for you. A must. 100% seeks danger.

The food is very good, but the place is extremely loud and noisy. You can hardly understand the person next to you. The worst thing is that because the restaurant is very popular and in high demand, they want to get rid of you as quickly as possible. I had barely finished my meal when the waiter asked me twice if he could take my bowl. The second time I just gave it to him and then we were asked to pay and leave.

The best Pho I've eaten in Berlin so far! It comes from a never-ending large soup pot that you can already admire in the shop window! Such a flavorful soup! yumyum! Great recommendation for the fried pork belly too!

Nice place with good variety of Vietnamese dishes. We tried pho, salmon curry and nem. Everything was tasty and good looking, nice staff. In my opinion some positions like “Nem” for 13 Euros are a bit overpriced, but it’s Charlottenburg after all.

The food was good, but unfortunately we were asked to leave after 1.5 hours because the next reservation was already waiting. So don't order too much or eat quickly. I do not like it.

We had a lovely evening in the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was also very good. However, I would like to mention at this point that the clothes you wear that evening smell extremely like food, which can be unpleasant if you want to go somewhere else after the restaurant. You have to wash the clothes completely. I can't say exactly why that is. I'm guessing fried fat? I'll still come back.

We went to Madame Ngo this evening to start our long weekend in Berlin and we were thrilled! The service was super friendly, attentive and quick. The food was simply delicious - the Pho Bo Vien was wonderfully aromatic and the Madame Ngo Chicken Rice was perfectly seasoned. We can particularly recommend the Tra da iced tea – super refreshing and the perfect accompaniment to food. We'll definitely be back!

The best noodle and tofu dish I ate this week. Rice pudding was disappointing.

If you want to feel really badly treated, you've come to the right place! We paid €48 for a meal that was mediocre at best and made a conscious decision not to tip. Why? Because we simply didn't perceive the service as such. First impression: completely ignored for 10 minutes even though the staff saw us. No greeting, no “good evening”, just nothing. We were about to leave, then we were allowed to sit down. You get the feeling that you as a guest have to thank you for allowing you to dine in these holy halls. The waiters are very conscious of their coolness, which unfortunately comes at the expense of friendliness. Then the next blow: the drinks menu is full of expensive French wines, but we only wanted tap water. The answer? “We don’t serve that here.” Ah yes, in France you get free water with your meal in every little bistro, but here you're apparently too sophisticated for that. Sorry, but water is a basic right and this arrogance is just outrageous. The food? Meh. It started off quite well with the spring rolls, which are actually handmade and served with herbs. The dip goes well. The Pho Bo had a decent broth, but the noodles? Not handmade, simple mass-produced goods. The meatballs? So hard that they had probably been cooking for hours. Price-performance? At €15 for the cheapest soup, this is a tough announcement for the absolute staple food in Vietnam. Herbs for Pho? None. One can only wonder whether the kitchen management has eaten an authentic Vietnamese soup or listens to guests' requests. The vegetarian Banh Mi was the biggest disappointment: frozen baguette, unseasoned tofu, no marinade or sauce. 12€ for a sandwich that costs 6€ everywhere else in Berlin and then tastes even worse? And after the answer it becomes clear why: it had been lying around in the kitchen for 12 hours and came from an unknown bakery. Thanks for that. Add to that the prices: Pho around 20€, green papaya salad for 18€, a 0.2l tonic for 4€ - for these ridiculous prices the food could at least be spectacular, but no, it's okay at best and a culinary insult at worst. The best thing for last: My partner felt sick after eating. Perfect end to an unforgettable evening. Conclusion: Berlin has countless great restaurants with good service, delicious food and fair prices. This restaurant is not one of them. If you like to eat expensive food and be ignored by the staff, this is the place for you. All other? Find something better. Oh yes, of course we weren't looked at when we left. Fits into the overall picture. Cheers to hospitality! 👏 PS: As for the owner's pat answer: Instead of responding constructively to feedback and changing something internally, a history and geography lesson was served here. Of course it's interesting to know that Pho has its origins in the north of Vietnam and is celebrated very differently there - but as a guest I don't want to be lectured, I want real quality and real customer focus. The topic of water, for example: whether in a French bistro or elsewhere, even at €50 for a meal, tap water is standard, free and without ifs and buts. The “expensive French restaurants” argument lacks any logic. I dine internationally between 5 and 200€ and I don't demand cheapness, I want to be perceived as a guest and receive high-quality products. At Madame Ngo all we got was aloof service and a curt response, instead of anyone actually being interested in whether we liked it or why we refused to tip. Here the hype of social media seems to be more important than the real dialogue with the guests.

One of, if not the, best pho you can get in Berlin. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It is always very crowded and you should reserve early if you want to be guaranteed a spot. The Phó has a very good taste, for me a big plus - there is fish sauce at every place without having to hope that there will be some to season. The only thing that might bother some people is the noise but it's worth eating here if you want good Vietnamese food.

Luckily we reserved a table because when the shop opened at 6 p.m. it was already packed. The service was very quick and attentive. The food came quickly and tasted very good. The famous Pho soup is slowly cooked for the guests in large cauldrons. It's the best pho soup in town. The baguette was very tasty and super fluffy. The atmosphere was very cozy and modern.

Unfortunately no culinary O-Pho-bar. We've watched The Duc Ngo on TV several times and think he's really great as a guy. The expectations were accordingly, and they were completely disappointed in terms of taste. As a starter we had spring rolls filled with crab and minced pork, which were really good. Then there was the trilogy of pork belly, the braised one was completely convincing, the grilled one tasted good but was really tough, as was the boiled one. The main course was a bowl of fried beef on rice noodles with herbs and salad, and a bowl of tofu. The food was only lukewarm and tasted rather bland, the meat was tough, and the tofu was good. There was nothing to complain about with the third dish, chicken rice, but nothing more. An unusual showpiece was the little caterpillar (no joke) and the little black hair under the pak choy. For just under €100 we ate much better. Unfortunately, you don't get the feeling here that you wish your plate wouldn't get empty or that you're looking forward to the next visit. The question from the service also seemed strange as to whether you should add the tip directly to the card. Whether the guest wants to tip should be left up to the guest, especially if the service is rather mediocre.

Dinner at Madame Ngo was a fantastic experience! A reservation was essential as the place was fully booked, and walk-ins were turned away. The team was super friendly, the service quick, and the food exceptional. We shared several dishes: the carpaccio with a special sauce was amazing, the chicken was incredibly soft and melt-in-your-mouth good, and the papaya salad was spot-on (though I’d skip the beef sticks—they didn’t add much). For mains, the salmon was delicious, paired with a unique and flavorful sauce, while the steak, served medium (perfect for us), was excellent, though the accompanying salad was just okay. Dessert was a light and refreshing mango ice with sticky rice—a perfect finish. The tables were close, but it was easy to hear each other, making for a cozy and enjoyable evening. Highly recommend! I’ll also share photos of the dishes to show how beautifully everything was presented.

The soup is fantastic—super delicious! However, the place can be a bit crowded and noisy, so it’s not ideal for a relaxed dinner. That said, it’s perfect if you’re looking to enjoy some amazing soup quickly.

There were three of us here. Service was very quick, friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. My baguette was juicy and very tasty. And the braised and grilled pork belly ordered as a starter was also a great taste experience. The shop is rather small and you sit quite close to your “neighbors”. Not so good for intimate conversations. But we still found it quite comfortable. The only real downer was the lemonade. This was rather watery and had little taste. Too bad. Otherwise everything was very good. Please note that you should definitely make a reservation. It's always full. Even during the week. And you only have a time window of one and a half hours.

Lucky me, I spontaneously got a seat even though I was alone - incredibly friendly service! The Pho was to die for: tender, raw beef and a taste that I haven't experienced so deliciously in a long time!

My bowl of pho does NOT have beef meatball although I ordered Pho Bo Madame Ngo 19e which should has beef steak, beef brisket, also beef meatball as mentioned in menu. The Pho is delicous, but the service is rude and sloppy. I wasted money on something that should have been as good as it said it would be.

I think this is one of the best phos I've ever eaten in my whole life. The rice noodles are cooked just the right texture. The broth is deep, fully bursting with umami taste; ginger and fresh spring onions complement the broth. The fatty brisket is soft and rich. Highly recommend!

I visited Madame Ngo a few years ago, and it was an absolutely fabulous experience. Hands down, the best Pho I’ve ever had! The beef tartare was also exceptional—perfectly prepared and full of flavor. I was there alone around midday/afternoon, and I was quickly seated, which I really appreciated. The service was super friendly and attentive, making the visit even more enjoyable. I can’t wait to return soon—it’s a must-visit for anyone craving high-quality Vietnamese cuisine in Berlin!

The food (soups) are just great! The staff is very nice and very hardworking. Personally, I find the store too loud and too narrow. But that is my personal feeling! Otherwise the store is highly recommended!!!

Small Vietnamese restaurant. The food is very tasty, the spring rolls are amazing. Always very busy, reservations are strongly recommended. The price is a bit higher. The atmosphere is very simple, you actually only stay to eat.

Short: Not recommended. Long: We ordered PHO, the chicken was with skin which was not nice, drinks are over priced, but what was really bad was the behavior of the personnel. As soon as we finished our food one of the personnel approached our table and asked if we need drinks / desert, we said no we are fine, then he repeated 3 times: Oh you are fine? So you are fine right? So nothing you want more you are fine right???? Imagine our face at that moment, we left the restaurant not with a good memory. I do not come back again.

Madame Ngo? Sadly, No. I was really looking forward to a big, steaming bowl of phở after 5 days in Berlin trying Teutonic classics. Unfortunately the 19€ (~AUD 30.50) Phở bò Madame Ngo was a big disappointment. I've never been to Vietnam, but Sydney's Marrickville is well known for its exceptional Vietnamese food and I'm used to phở made on a bone broth that's rich and deep with flavour. The Phở bò Madame Ngo was certainly big and steaming, but wasn't really big on flavour. The raw beef slices, cooked beef brisket, and beef meatballs were also, mysteriously, bland. The place is popular, though. We had a 18:15 booking ahead of a concert at A-Trane and the place was almost full by the time we arrived. They were queuing out the door by the time we left, an hour and a bit later. So maybe they're cooking to the tastes of their regulars. Which makes sense if you're running a business. Tourists are never going to be your bread-and-butter. But I have nooo idea how they managed to get a write up in Michelin. Unless the inspectors have never been to Hanoi. Or Marrickville.

This restaurant was a lovely, spontaneous find. We didn't have high expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised with the first bite. We had Beef Carpaccio and Vegetarian Spring Rolls as starters, followed by Tuna Tataki and Chicken Rice as mains. All dishes without exception were delicious, well seasoned and tastefully balanced. The tuna I had was particularly tender – an absolute 10/10! Even though we came on a Saturday evening without a reservation, we were seated within 10 minutes. The staff was attentive and helpful. I was really positively surprised by this place and would like to come again.

Perfect for lunch in the cold winter months. The Pho with filet mignon and extra chili is highly recommended. There is a strong smell of meat broth throughout the store. So be careful if you have away appointments afterwards ;)

The pork belly is amazing! The pho is delicious! Lychee water is super delicious! Good service attitude 👍 But when we went there a while ago, the waiter took away our plates as soon as we put down our chopsticks. It is recommended not to do this again in the future, it feels like chasing away customers.

Madame Ngo in Berlin offers by far the best Pho Bo I've ever eaten - and Chef The Duc Ngo lives up to his reputation! The soup is prepared with the greatest care according to a traditional recipe. The extremely tender slices of beef cook in the hot broth right in front of your eyes – a true spectacle! The broth itself is rich in flavors and shows that it has been simmering for hours to develop that deep, complex flavor. Fresh herbs, tender noodles and carefully balanced spices round off the experience and take the senses on a journey to Vietnam. The ambience of the restaurant is also stylish and inviting, making Madame Ngo an absolute must for every foodie in Berlin!

The restaurant had been known for a long time and was on the list of restaurants to visit. And finally it worked and far exceeded my expectations. It was pretty busy for a weeknight, but a good sign. The food was delicious and always beautifully prepared. Service was also very accommodating and we received our food quickly. The price is a bit steep. A pho soup between 17-19€ (depending on the ingredients)... But you can do it as there is a very nice atmosphere and good food.

To reply to the owner: I have only been to Hanoi and never to the south of the country. You are welcome to keep insulting your customers, justifying the low stars, made now lower. What a petty reply to overcompensate for your watery, flavourless broth. All the best.

I found the food to be quite different in quality. The King's Salad was very tasty with good dressing and juicy shrimp. Unfortunately, I found the highly praised Pho to be average and not particularly aromatic. The Banh Mi Ha Noi was a real disappointment: the baguette roll tasted like it came from a supermarket bakery, the topping of roast pork cold cuts and pate was boringly seasoned and had no crunch, the raw vegetable schnitzel was bland and without pizzazz. I've eaten much better in Berlin. The service was nice and attentive.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a friendly impression from the staff immediately after entering the restaurant. Although there were around 5 tables free (not reserved), we had to wait in the door for around 15 minutes. The employee told us twice “that he had to take a look first”. At some point you had the feeling that a selection was being made as to who they would let in and who wouldn't fit the atmosphere. I wouldn't have expected anything like that here. After a while “a place could be found”. The food is ok, but not worth it at all for the price and the experience.

I went on a Monday before 1pm and it was almost full. It arrived quickly after ordering, and the soup was gentle and delicious.

The quality of the food is solid, but nothing special. The Crevettes Truffle Mayonnaise for €12 was a good starter. The Kikoi chicken for €19 tastes authentic, but also a bit spartan. A rice pudding dessert with mango sorbet is necessary to fill you up, But for €10 the price is already borderline. The street food/bistro ambience is pleasant and lively. But you're also as comfortable as sitting in a food stall. In my opinion, price and performance don't really match. There are at least similarly good Vietnamese restaurants in Berlin for less money. This is symbolized by a visit to the toilet: in terms of standard, they don't go beyond a food stall. There is a damp kitchen roll at the unisex washbasin to dry your hands!

Absolutely delicious food and fast service. Went here in great company to discuss a movie, martial arts and how important precise language use can be for courtship. But all those topics were nothing compared to the pho, papaya salad and beef wok and self made summer rolls that we all enjoyed! Book well in advance because this place seems to be very popular.

Appetizers are more exciting to me than the Pho. The Tartar 12/10

The restaurant is really nicely decorated and we had a beef pho and spring rolls. In terms of taste, everything was okay, but the pho was lacking in seasoning. The service was okay, but we felt a bit uncomfortable as we weren't even smiled at when greeting us. We somehow had the impression that we weren't really welcome, which is sad. The portion of the Pho was also a bit too big for my taste. I would prefer smaller portions at a cheaper price, then the price-performance ratio would be better for me.

As for the pho, it just feels like the broth is more luxurious than the regular pho noodle restaurant I used to eat. The taste was good. The price is not bad, perhaps because it is located in Kantstrasse, but it is not very reasonable. Maybe that's why I don't really feel like coming back and eating there again. However, personally, I made a reservation and went, but they kept trying to put away the uneaten food, which made me feel uncomfortable the whole time I was eating. Well, I didn't sit there for long, but I felt like I was noticed and had to eat quickly and leave.

We ordered pasta once for 15 euros and once for 19 euros, plus spring rolls with meat and a cola. The waiter then showed me a bill for 53.5 euros (without details). I paid 58 euros back then. Today I looked at the online menu and everything together would actually have cost 50.5 euros. I don't understand why the waiter did that and charged the customer twice. Even if it's not a lot of money, it's basically a scam. //The owner responded that the online menu may be incorrect. That's really a less than sincere answer. I wasn't looking at an old menu, but the current menu on your official website. Maybe the owner can please honestly tell me how much the food I ordered actually cost? So how much does 34 euros for the pasta, 13 euros for the spring rolls and 3.5 euros for the cola add up to??????? 53.5?😠😠

The waiter asked all the guests whether they wanted to sit outside or inside, except for me! And I got a super “nice” seat, I can always hear the noise from the cutlery! And once I was shocked!
