If you like a lively restaurant with an exciting atmosphere, then go! The spring rolls are crispy, as they should be, with lettuce and mint; the dish is very flavorful. There's a nice selection of non-alcoholic drinks. The bill isn't exactly cheap, but it's worth it.

Fantastic pho (I ordered the one with different meats) although on the pricier side. Loved the opportunity to enhance to taste with the provided additional ingredients like chili oil, paste, and other sauces. Didn’t love the seating arrangement as much, the restaurant was very crowded, you sit very close to other people.

I have to deduct one star for the Pho. It lacks the punch for me. Otherwise, everything is incredibly delicious.

Whenever I'm in town and want a really tasty, quick meal, this is the place to go. I'm greeted very politely and served quickly and efficiently. The selected dishes are all of super fresh quality, and I've never been disappointed. I'm always happy to come back.

The cream shrimp is delicious, but I'm not sure if the pho is good... It's bland and lacks flavor, and it just doesn't taste good... The bun bo nambo is just okay. It's tastier than here, but it's everywhere. It's not cost-effective at 17 euros for one pho.

It was a bit of a busy evening when we went, but we were served quite quickly. I got the beef ball pho while my friend got the beef brisket pho. These were served with chopped chilli and two slices on lemon on the side, which was strange as every single Vietnamese restaurant I’ve ever been to have always given me lime. While the beef balls were pretty standard, my soup wasn’t flavourful and tasted like it had been diluted while the noodles were on the slightly harder side which I’m not a massive fan of. I had to squeeze in both slices of lemons and put all the chilli in. My friend’s had a lot more flavour - I don’t know if it had to do with the beef brisket releasing more flavour or if he got a different soup base. This is by no means a bad restaurant, but in my opinion the food was very average. I think most of the customers are tourists too as I heard a lot of American accents around us.

I was drawn to this place because their big pot always caught my eye whenever I passed by. I love the Pho, the beef was of such high quality and tasted really good. But the place was crowded, and the atmosphere was not very comfortable.

Extremely rude staff. Told us it was a 1 hour wait at 9pm even though there were tables emptying. We ended up getting a seat in 5 minutes after waiting ourselves and pushing the staff to seat us. At the end we forgot an empty bottle at the table and they literally threw it at us. Food was extremely average.

Fire the staff or you will be out of business. First, one of the servers tried to deny us service by telling us there was an hour long wait. There were several open tables. They then tried to extort my friend for tips by asking about it repetitively. Lastly, cherry on top, they threw a soda at a friend who had left it at the table.

The waiters are very rude here. The food however was good. They were asking for a tip even after all the rudeness. Completely delusional.

I've eaten at Madame NGO several times and can highly recommend it. The appetizers, in particular, are a highlight and make every visit worthwhile. The other dishes are also fresh and delicious, and the service is friendly and the ambiance is lovely.

Absolutely first-class pho, one of my favorites in Berlin! Top-notch meat, and the carpaccio is also impressive. Duc Ngo restaurants are all great. The drinks are also delicious; I love the lychee with Sprite. The price is a bit higher, but it definitely matches the quality. The pho is even better in the evening because it's cooked longer. Be sure to make a reservation; it gets quite crowded.

5* Plus. There are countless pho soups in Berlin, and they're all good and varied. But here, it's incredibly delicious, aromatic, and not run-of-the-mill. The ambiance and staff are fantastic. I visited around 1 PM on a weekday and was able to get in after a short wait without a reservation. The broth of the pho was incredibly flavorful, and the meat was thin and tender. The interior of the restaurant was clean and well-organized, and the staff were very friendly, which left a great impression!

Great food with particularly outstanding starters that you rarely find elsewhere – creative, sophisticated, but sometimes quite spicy, so not for sensitive palates, or better yet, ask in advance. The service was consistently friendly and attentive. The ambiance feels rather casual and simple, which doesn't quite match the upscale price range. Overall, though, a culinary visit worthwhile.

I used to like this Vietnamese pho place, but unfortunately the quality has really gone down. The broth was bitter and overly salty, not as tasty as it used to be. The service was also quite average. When we were about to pay, a guy who didn’t even serve us asked directly if we had any tips for him—which felt inappropriate. Earlier, we asked a female staff member to modify our order, and her attitude was impatient and unfriendly. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Madame ngo is rather functionally furnished and the seating is quite close together. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend it for a cozy evening. There is a small outdoor area, but it also faces the busy street. The service was fast, attentive, and the young lady in person was very friendly. However, she lacks a bit of conversational skills to achieve excellence. The focus in this restaurant is clearly on the food. And that was really very good for me this evening. For starters, I had three kinds of pork belly and a carrot and radish salad. Both completely captivated me. The different textures of the pork were well executed. For the main course, I had pho with various meats. The broth was rich, but without the artificial taste of many phos. The meat quality was impressive. All in all, I was very satisfied, and in this price category, I find the slight shortcomings in comfort completely understandable. Highly recommended!

Madame Ngo in Berlin offers by far the best Pho Bo I've ever eaten - and Chef The Duc Ngo lives up to his reputation! The soup is prepared with the greatest care according to a traditional recipe. The extremely tender slices of beef cook in the hot broth right in front of your eyes – a true spectacle! The broth itself is rich in flavors and shows that it has been simmering for hours to develop that deep, complex flavor. Fresh herbs, tender noodles and carefully balanced spices round off the experience and take the senses on a journey to Vietnam. The ambience of the restaurant is also stylish and inviting, making Madame Ngo an absolute must for every foodie in Berlin!

Really good Pho. Perhaps the best Vietnamese food you can get in Berlin. Be prepared to wait a bit though if you don't have a reservation as they tend to be quite busy.

The food was good, we had no issues with the quality. But the service was absolutely terrible. The person who sat us was nice and the gentleman who took our initial order was helpful, but the waitress working the main room was very unfriendly. We had a small issue with one part of a dish we ordered: the fish sauce vinaigrette had a lot of chilis in it, making it very hot. It seemed like replacing it with a new one without chilis would be an easy fix, but in the end we felt bad for even asking considering how the wait staff went about it. We have both worked in gastronomy (FOH and BOH), so we understand it's not an easy job, but the customer service by the waitress in the main room genuinely ruined an otherwise good experience.

Came a couple minutes before opening (because I didn’t get a reservation). There were plenty of tables available for walk-ins at that time. Service was swift. I had the pho with raw beef slices and it was delicious! The beef was super tender and the broth flavorful. The ginger slices in the broth was a great touch. Portion is big. If you’d like to try more dishes, I recommend coming with friends!

I live in California within the highest Vietnamese population area, so I've been spoiled by widely available variety of amazing Vietnamese cuisine that are accurate to their region. With Hanoi in their restaurant name, I ordered one phở bò tái. They have let their name down the moment I got my order and tried the broth on its own. It lacked in salt, flavorings, balance, and anything else to make it worth the price. It honestly felt like it was a second or third watered down batch of broth. No greens on the side were offered, only two lemon wedges. Their julienned ginger really sealed the deal for the worst garnish in a beef phở. Who does that? Their bún chả Hà Nội does not have grilled meat patties, just regular thinly sliced pork that's been grazed by the flames. If you care for authenticity then please skip this place. Vietnamese food deserve better than this.

Cool atmosphere, super delicious, authentic dishes. The service was good too. We made a reservation in advance. Getting a table without a reservation at lunchtime is rather difficult.

Not all vegan dishes are vegan. Some have fish sauce. This was only revealed after we asked. Mistakes on the menu weren't really taken seriously. We should look elsewhere if we really want vegan food. In that case, maybe not label it at all.

The best banh mi I've had in Berlin so far! The bread is just like in Vietnam – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I would go back for the banh mi anytime, even though it's quite expensive. The pho is good and solid, and the bun cha is also delicious – but the banh mi definitely stands out!

2 Pho – beef and chicken. Unfortunately, a bit disappointing for the price. The taste was rather average; Berlin has better options. But for the Insta vibe and Botoxed Charlottenburg ladies, this is definitely the place to be.

The food is good, but the place is extremely loud and noisy. You can barely hear the person next to you. The worst part is that because the restaurant is very popular and in high demand, they want to get rid of you as quickly as possible. I had barely finished my meal when the server asked me twice if he could take my bowl. The second time, I simply gave it to him, and then we were asked to pay and leave.

It used to be my favorite restaurant, which I recommended to many friends. Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience on my last visit. We paid, but the change took a long time. When I politely asked – it was 16 euros, after all – I politely said they could give me 15 euros back. The person in charge at first pretended not to understand, and then I was noticeably judged both verbally and through body language for leaving a 1-euro tip. I've also tipped significantly more in the past. I won't soon forget this experience, and I don't think I'll return or recommend the restaurant...

The young, somewhat tanned waitress was unfortunately extremely unpleasant, seemed arrogant, and rude. If you're having a bad day, you should never let it pass on to the guests – that was unprofessional and unpleasant. The location is unspectacular, the atmosphere rather cold and loud. Once it's full, the noise level becomes high, making conversation at your own table difficult – you can clearly hear the conversations at neighboring tables. Anyone who values ​​privacy or quiet conversations will have a hard time here. The food was overpriced for my taste and unfortunately not convincing. The pho broth was far too salty, and even a slice of lemon is only available upon request – something that should be a given. I had pho bo tai – the version with raw beef. Unfortunately, the broth was only lukewarm, which is problematic: The meat is supposed to cook in the heat of the broth, but if it's not hot enough, the broth quickly cools down further. For me, pho should be served piping hot to ensure the right flavor and texture. The fried spring rolls also didn't impress – they tasted like frozen ones, and the value for money wasn't right. Conclusion: Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend them – neither the service nor the food lived up to the standards you'd expect at these prices.

We've been there several times and it was always very good. Today, an appetizer arrived late; it was simply forgotten. That wasn't really a big deal for us. This made the service very uncomfortable, and we were proactively offered a bottle of water. We've been there many times over the past five years and can only give it our unconditional recommendation.

We arrived there for dinner around 8pm and had to wait more than 30 minutes between our starter and our main course. We ordered water and it was brought to us only during our main course after we asked for it twice. The meal was fine but very overpriced for what it is.

Very disappointing! The food tasted boring, unseasoned, and could only be spiced up somewhat with the chili sauce from the plastic bottle. You pay €12 for a glass of wine🫣. No recommendation from us!

Eating delicious pho soup in Charlottenburg Two Pho soups and two drinks around €60 The soups were tasty, the broth could have been a little stronger. The meat in the mignon was cut very thick and in the other soup there was too much fat on the meat. That was our impression, but otherwise the soups were very tasty and so were the drinks.

The three of us were very lucky to get a place shortly before 9 a.m. on Thursday and were thrilled. I had the best Pho of my life with very tender beef. The shop is relatively loud, but that didn't bother us. Service was very nice. The prices are not the lowest but are absolutely justified for the quality.

This is my favorite rice noodle restaurant. The rice noodles here are so delicious!! There is also a shrimp dish as an appetizer, which is delicious, but a bit... very expensive, overall... and it's a bit inconvenient because the tables are so close together. The food is yummy, but your manager/ front person is out of control. I arrived to this place and before being let inside I was asked in a pretty rude manner “you have 20 minutes to eat before I close, are you going to be fast enough?” Almost clicking the fingers to me. I said sure, I’ll be fast. I was starving. When I was in I ordered as fast as I could, chose the simplest food I could. It took 15 min to get my food and whilst I was waiting for it I just kept getting stressed about not having enough time or not being fast enough to eat it. Since this is not a feeling that a client should generally feel, but I also prefer to tell this personally instead of leaving a bad review, I proceeded to very calmly tell your manager or whoever the person at the entrance was, that he could tell things in a nicer way and friendlier manner. That I felt rushed and under pressure. That it was possible to phrase this situation differently and in a more respectful way, in the end, you don’t want your clients to feel rushed and offended. He didn’t take this very well and proceeded to act a bit aggressive, never said the words “I’m sorry” or “you are right, I could have phrased it better”. He got pissed off, left me with no apology and proceeded to speak about me, with his colleagues, assuming I don’t speak German. When I asked him not talk about a client in front of them, that it was rude and impolite, he started to mimic me and make faces. Said he can talk about me whenever he wants to. Very cynically. I proceeded to record him and he said he would call the police on me… then took his phone out and started taking photos of me. Of course he never called the police. A simple apology would have been more than enough, really. Now I will obviously not return to this place and really left a bad taste both in my mouth and in my emotional state. For sure the client is not respected and absolutely not a priority in this establishment, instead, the client gets bullied in front of all the workers.

The best pho soup I ate in Berlin – need I say more about it? We were there on a Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Without a reservation we waited 20 minutes for a free table, but it was definitely worth it. The prices are super fair for the quality. Clear recommendation for fans of Pho soup!

I tried Pho for the first time and ate it at one of the nicest places upon the recommendation of my friends. I tried Pho Madame Ngo with meat and I liked it very much. I just couldn't finish it because it was really filling.

We enjoyed three exquisite starters and two tasty main courses, complemented by two non-alcoholic drinks. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit, but it is advisable to reserve in advance or bring enough time.

We had a lovely evening in the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was also very good. However, I would like to mention at this point that the clothes you wear that evening smell extremely like food, which can be unpleasant if you want to go somewhere else after the restaurant. You have to wash the clothes completely. I can't say exactly why that is. I'm guessing fried fat? I'll still come back.

We went to Madame Ngo this evening to start our long weekend in Berlin and we were thrilled! The service was super friendly, attentive and quick. The food was simply delicious - the Pho Bo Vien was wonderfully aromatic and the Madame Ngo Chicken Rice was perfectly seasoned. We can particularly recommend the Tra da iced tea – super refreshing and the perfect accompaniment to food. We'll definitely be back!

If you want to feel really badly treated, you've come to the right place! We paid €48 for a meal that was mediocre at best and made a conscious decision not to tip. Why? Because we simply didn't perceive the service as such. First impression: completely ignored for 10 minutes even though the staff saw us. No greeting, no “good evening”, just nothing. We were about to leave, then we were allowed to sit down. You get the feeling that you as a guest have to thank you for allowing you to dine in these holy halls. The waiters are very conscious of their coolness, which unfortunately comes at the expense of friendliness. Then the next blow: the drinks menu is full of expensive French wines, but we only wanted tap water. The answer? “We don’t serve that here.” Ah yes, in France you get free water with your meal in every little bistro, but here you're apparently too sophisticated for that. Sorry, but water is a basic right and this arrogance is just outrageous. The food? Meh. It started off quite well with the spring rolls, which are actually handmade and served with herbs. The dip goes well. The Pho Bo had a decent broth, but the noodles? Not handmade, simple mass-produced goods. The meatballs? So hard that they had probably been cooking for hours. Price-performance? At €15 for the cheapest soup, this is a tough announcement for the absolute staple food in Vietnam. Herbs for Pho? None. One can only wonder whether the kitchen management has eaten an authentic Vietnamese soup or listens to guests' requests. The vegetarian Banh Mi was the biggest disappointment: frozen baguette, unseasoned tofu, no marinade or sauce. 12€ for a sandwich that costs 6€ everywhere else in Berlin and then tastes even worse? And after the answer it becomes clear why: it had been lying around in the kitchen for 12 hours and came from an unknown bakery. Thanks for that. Add to that the prices: Pho around 20€, green papaya salad for 18€, a 0.2l tonic for 4€ - for these ridiculous prices the food could at least be spectacular, but no, it's okay at best and a culinary insult at worst. The best thing for last: My partner felt sick after eating. Perfect end to an unforgettable evening. Conclusion: Berlin has countless great restaurants with good service, delicious food and fair prices. This restaurant is not one of them. If you like to eat expensive food and be ignored by the staff, this is the place for you. All other? Find something better. Oh yes, of course we weren't looked at when we left. Fits into the overall picture. Cheers to hospitality! 👏 PS: As for the owner's pat answer: Instead of responding constructively to feedback and changing something internally, a history and geography lesson was served here. Of course it's interesting to know that Pho has its origins in the north of Vietnam and is celebrated very differently there - but as a guest I don't want to be lectured, I want real quality and real customer focus. The topic of water, for example: whether in a French bistro or elsewhere, even at €50 for a meal, tap water is standard, free and without ifs and buts. The “expensive French restaurants” argument lacks any logic. I dine internationally between 5 and 200€ and I don't demand cheapness, I want to be perceived as a guest and receive high-quality products. At Madame Ngo all we got was aloof service and a curt response, instead of anyone actually being interested in whether we liked it or why we refused to tip. Here the hype of social media seems to be more important than the real dialogue with the guests.

One of, if not the, best pho you can get in Berlin. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It is always very crowded and you should reserve early if you want to be guaranteed a spot. The Phó has a very good taste, for me a big plus - there is fish sauce at every place without having to hope that there will be some to season. The only thing that might bother some people is the noise but it's worth eating here if you want good Vietnamese food.
