The three of us went to eat at Madame Ngo. You can see the pho simmering in the window, and the aroma is already strong when you walk in. We each ordered a bowl of pho: one with fatty beef brisket, heart, and gizzard, and the other with chicken and vegetables. It was delicious—the best pho we've ever had. You can really taste that no MSG is used and that the flavors come from the spices and ingredients. A lovely atmosphere right in the heart of Berlin and very friendly staff! We'll be back and are already looking forward to our next visit!

The food is really very good. Unfortunately, we had to eat very quickly so they could accommodate the previous service. An hour after we were seated (and hadn't finished our plates), they arrived at our table with a card reader to take our payment. It's a shame because it contrasts sharply with the fact that the food was very good...

We had another fantastic experience at Madame NGO. The pho was incredibly aromatic and authentic, true Vietnamese soup cuisine at its finest. The dessert of creamy coconut rice pudding and mango ice cream was also a highlight. The service is exceptionally friendly and attentive: from the moment we made our reservation until our departure, Hui and the entire team took wonderful care of us. Everything was simply perfect. Excellent Vietnamese street food. The restaurant is pleasant but can be quite loud during the lunch time rush. Order simply, courses are not recommended as the tables are small and when very busy waits can be long. At lunchtime a reservation is necessary.

After our almost three-week vacation in Vietnam (Edit: we were in Hanoi, Central Vietnam, and Ho Chi Minh City), we missed the food so much that we went to Madame Ngo based on the good reviews and were extremely disappointed. The service was great, the waitresses were extremely friendly and lovely. We had a reservation, so we didn't have to wait and were able to order right away. Drinks and food arrived quickly. The banh mi was okay, not amazing, but tasty. We knew it wouldn't be like the ones we had in Vietnam three days earlier. But we still expected more based on the reviews, etc. The bun cha was also okay, but definitely not like we knew it from Vietnam. The prices are a bit higher; you can easily spend more than €30 per person. However, the service is attentive and friendly. I was able to pay by credit card. American Express is not accepted.

The prices are on the higher end for noodle soup, but the food is tasty. However, if a single person can't get a table at the bar because there are groups of four waiting outside, even though there's a free table, then the whole concept is unfortunately flawed. There are easily 20 equally good noodle bars on the same street where you won't have to wait forever. The pork belly is too dry, but the pho is quite good. One star because I might come back sometime and see if it's better.

The Pho Bo Madame Ngo was outstanding. The Bun Bo Nam Bo is also highly recommended – fresh, light, and bursting with flavor. Everything appears to be of high quality and prepared with care. The service is warm and attentive, and even special requests for my nine-year-old son were promptly accommodated. The portions are generous, and the prices are absolutely fair. I visited twice during my three-day trip to Berlin, and my only regret is not having tried everything. I will definitely be back. Reservations are recommended; otherwise, be prepared for a wait.

Went on a Thursday ~13:30 and the place was packed. They have the giant pots with the broth at the front so you’re greeted with a rich and warm aroma. Waited 5-10min to get a seat at a shared table. Ordered the chicken pho and Madam Ngo mix drink. I went with the server’s recommendation to get the mango flavour. Drink and food came out quickly. Madam Ngo mango mix: 6/10 Refreshing though still slightly on the sweet side. The fresh mint and citrus were lovely, but wouldn’t order again for €6. Chicken pho: 7/10 Superb broth, clear and light yet full of umami. Added a bit of fish sauce and chili oil to taste but honestly didn’t need it. Chicken had good flavour, but texture could’ve been silkier and more tender. Chicken hearts were a mix- some were hard and crunchy, others were soft. Liver was okay. If the chicken hearts were sliced, that might help with consistency. I usually do that if I’m grilling it so not sure if it’ll work the same for boiling. Pho was served with two lemon slices and chili. It was missing the bean sprouts and fresh aromatics like Thai basil, cilantro, and mint that wouldn’t elevated the pho and made it heartier. For €19 I expected better execution for the meat. Overall I’d come back here because of the sumptuous broth and quick service. I’d try the beef pho next time. It seems like the more popular one.

Beautiful place, really tasty food, pho soup is a must certainly one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I’ve tried in Europe. It has a little touch of French brasserie with beef tartare and carpaccio. The smell of pho in the restaurant is amazing. A must try.

It was a bit of a busy evening when we went, but we were served quite quickly. I got the beef ball pho while my friend got the beef brisket pho. These were served with chopped chilli and two slices on lemon on the side, which was strange as every single Vietnamese restaurant I’ve ever been to have always given me lime. While the beef balls were pretty standard, my soup wasn’t flavourful and tasted like it had been diluted while the noodles were on the slightly harder side which I’m not a massive fan of. I had to squeeze in both slices of lemons and put all the chilli in. My friend’s had a lot more flavour - I don’t know if it had to do with the beef brisket releasing more flavour or if he got a different soup base. This is by no means a bad restaurant, but in my opinion the food was very average. I think most of the customers are tourists too as I heard a lot of American accents around us.

The waiters are very rude here. The food however was good. They were asking for a tip even after all the rudeness. Completely delusional.

Fire the staff or you will be out of business. First, one of the servers tried to deny us service by telling us there was an hour long wait. There were several open tables. They then tried to extort my friend for tips by asking about it repetitively. Lastly, cherry on top, they threw a soda at a friend who had left it at the table.

Extremely rude staff. Told us it was a 1 hour wait at 9pm even though there were tables emptying. We ended up getting a seat in 5 minutes after waiting ourselves and pushing the staff to seat us. At the end we forgot an empty bottle at the table and they literally threw it at us. Food was extremely average.

Be sure to make a reservation; it gets quite crowded.

I used to like this Vietnamese pho place, but unfortunately the quality has really gone down. The broth was bitter and overly salty, not as tasty as it used to be. The service was also quite average. When we were about to pay, a guy who didn’t even serve us asked directly if we had any tips for him—which felt inappropriate. Earlier, we asked a female staff member to modify our order, and her attitude was impatient and unfriendly. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Madame ngo is rather functionally furnished and the seating is quite close together. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend it for a cozy evening. There is a small outdoor area, but it also faces the busy street. The service was fast, attentive, and the young lady in person was very friendly. However, she lacks a bit of conversational skills to achieve excellence. The focus in this restaurant is clearly on the food. And that was really very good for me this evening. For starters, I had three kinds of pork belly and a carrot and radish salad. Both completely captivated me. The different textures of the pork were well executed. For the main course, I had pho with various meats. The broth was rich, but without the artificial taste of many phos. The meat quality was impressive. All in all, I was very satisfied, and in this price category, I find the slight shortcomings in comfort completely understandable. Highly recommended!

Madame Ngo in Berlin offers by far the best Pho Bo I've ever eaten - and Chef The Duc Ngo lives up to his reputation! The soup is prepared with the greatest care according to a traditional recipe. The extremely tender slices of beef cook in the hot broth right in front of your eyes – a true spectacle! The broth itself is rich in flavors and shows that it has been simmering for hours to develop that deep, complex flavor. Fresh herbs, tender noodles and carefully balanced spices round off the experience and take the senses on a journey to Vietnam. The ambience of the restaurant is also stylish and inviting, making Madame Ngo an absolute must for every foodie in Berlin!

The food was good, we had no issues with the quality. But the service was absolutely terrible. The person who sat us was nice and the gentleman who took our initial order was helpful, but the waitress working the main room was very unfriendly. We had a small issue with one part of a dish we ordered: the fish sauce vinaigrette had a lot of chilis in it, making it very hot. It seemed like replacing it with a new one without chilis would be an easy fix, but in the end we felt bad for even asking considering how the wait staff went about it. We have both worked in gastronomy (FOH and BOH), so we understand it's not an easy job, but the customer service by the waitress in the main room genuinely ruined an otherwise good experience.

I live in California within the highest Vietnamese population area, so I've been spoiled by widely available variety of amazing Vietnamese cuisine that are accurate to their region. With Hanoi in their restaurant name, I ordered one phở bò tái. They have let their name down the moment I got my order and tried the broth on its own. It lacked in salt, flavorings, balance, and anything else to make it worth the price. It honestly felt like it was a second or third watered down batch of broth. No greens on the side were offered, only two lemon wedges. Their julienned ginger really sealed the deal for the worst garnish in a beef phở. Who does that? Their bún chả Hà Nội does not have grilled meat patties, just regular thinly sliced pork that's been grazed by the flames. If you care for authenticity then please skip this place. Vietnamese food deserve better than this.

Not all vegan dishes are vegan. Some have fish sauce. This was only revealed after we asked. Mistakes on the menu weren't really taken seriously. We should look elsewhere if we really want vegan food. In that case, maybe not label it at all.

The best banh mi I've had in Berlin so far! The bread is just like in Vietnam – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I would go back for the banh mi anytime, even though it's quite expensive. The pho is good and solid, and the bun cha is also delicious – but the banh mi definitely stands out!

The worst part is that because the restaurant is very popular and in high demand, they want to get rid of you as quickly as possible. The pho broth was far too salty, and even a slice of lemon is only available upon request – something that should be a given. I had pho bo tai – the version with raw beef. Unfortunately, the broth was only lukewarm, which is problematic: The meat is supposed to cook in the heat of the broth, but if it's not hot enough, the broth quickly cools down further. For me, pho should be served piping hot to ensure the right flavor and texture. The fried spring rolls also didn't impress – they tasted like frozen ones, and the value for money wasn't right. Conclusion: Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend them – neither the service nor the food lived up to the standards you'd expect at these prices.

We've been there several times and it was always very good. Today, an appetizer arrived late; it was simply forgotten. That wasn't really a big deal for us. This made the service very uncomfortable, and we were proactively offered a bottle of water. We've been there many times over the past five years and can only give it our unconditional recommendation.

The three of us were very lucky to get a place shortly before 9 a.m. on Thursday and were thrilled. I had the best Pho of my life with very tender beef. The shop is relatively loud, but that didn't bother us. Service was very nice. The prices are not the lowest but are absolutely justified for the quality.
