Good advice - it might be too spicy for you... - beautiful ambience, unusual drinks at European prices, but delicious and stylishly prepared.

The food was very good and the atmosphere very cozy.

Went with a big group, timing of food was great, dishes were hot. Ravioli was amazing, as was the lamb, maybe the best cooked lamb I've ever had, so tender. My only issue was the sauce on my carbonera was split and a bit chunky, not as creamy as I was expecting but the flavor was there and they were serving a large table so its understandable. Interior was cool, lots to look at on the walls. Service was attentive and I would recommend. Top quality ingredients and the passion was evident in every bite. Might go back in a couple days, Im still thinking about it :)

I ate here twice. The first time was fine, but the second time, in early autumn, I was left sitting outside and wasn't offered another drink. I was told that most of the business was currently taking place inside. On my third attempt, they offered me a table if I could eat within a certain time (20 minutes). Exactly what you want when you're trying to relax with a meal after a long day. Then you just go to a fast-food restaurant. Apparently, someone who comes alone isn't welcome. They just wanted my money. Sorry, but that's not happening. So, they've lost a regular customer. And I'll be recommending other places to my customers from now on.

Second year for a trip to Aachen. Last year, we made a reservation at Macaroni by chance, and it turned out to be a traditional and delicious Italian evening. We went back this year after a good experience last year. It started off promisingly, with a nice table on the first floor. Planning to have another lovely evening, we ordered €17 worth of aperitifs (Negroni & Kirr Royal). While the charming lady was writing, we also suggested we order a stilles wasser and a carafe of Primitivo to go with the Carbonara and Pizza Corleone. The lady arrived almost immediately with our aperitif, water, and carafe of wine. Just as we were saying that tonight was going fast, she was also there with the Carbonara pasta and pizza... Luckily, we hadn't ordered dessert or coffee yet... Our aperitif time was a complete failure and didn't really get the full benefit of it. So we dutifully started eating with an aperitif, wine, and water. After dinner, the lady asked if everything was okay. I told her it was never the case and that there would be at least a short break to enjoy the aperitif. Anyway, within twenty minutes we had arrived, ordered, been served, eaten, and paid. Fast food, in my opinion. If they want us out quickly, I'd rather know that beforehand in the future. Tourist trap, they won't see me there again.

I wanted to order spaghetti with tomato sauce, but it wasn’t listed in the menu. I asked the waiter about it, and she replied (in a rather rude German manner) that they already have plenty of pasta dishes and that the chef wouldn’t make anything “special.” So, I ended up ordering something else—what I was allowed to order. A few minutes later, I saw another waiter eating spaghetti with tomato sauce in the restaurant! Honestly, for the prices they charge, I expected much better service and attitude.

Unfortunately, we have a new chef.

Pike-perch fillet drowned in a very sour lemon sauce, so I could barely taste the fish. My partner's pizza was very wet and limp. A big disappointment.

Seeing the menu that mentioned casunsei specialties from Cortina d'Ampezzo when they are typical of Bergamo, to be on the safe side I ordered a 4 seasons pizza, which was decent.

Must experience yourself! For me it was an absolute Italian gold…

Shameful! Tiny portions for €25 dishes! We went to this restaurant last night. None of the servers made the effort to understand us, even though we spoke English. We ordered a pizza and a pasta dish. And, surprise! The pasta dish was tiny, with barely 6 ravioli. The dish was finished in barely 5 minutes. We expressed our disappointment to the owner, who didn't seem concerned by our remark, interpreting it as a joke. We had to go to another restaurant afterward to complete our dinner... Even though we don't have a particularly big appetite. Otherwise, the setting was beautiful and the pizza was decent. Unless you have the appetite of a 6-year-old, I don't recommend this restaurant.

A trendy Italian restaurant in Aachen, but the food could use more refinement. The vitello tonnato would have benefited from a pink veal breast and more delicate presentation.

Correct service, very interesting prices, especially some gin cocktails, correct Italian dishes, especially the price which is justified for the quality of the products. If you don't know where to go, for me this is a good restaurant and well located in the city.

Very tasty food, top service, good price-performance ratio

Unfortunately, it wasn't at all what we expected. We ordered lasagna, and it arrived cold. It had to be reheated twice. The service was terrible. We suggested we eat the hot portion, but then we had to pay. If we left it, we wouldn't have to pay, of course. So we were left without food. I was reasonable, but annoyed, and made it clear I was willing to compromise. In the end, they let us have a coffee on their bill. Afterward, we went somewhere else to eat, which wasn't so difficult because anything is better than that macaroni place. I don't normally give such a bad review and highlight areas for improvement that have been discussed or how they were resolved. Unfortunately, this place didn't respond to anything and considered it our problem that the food was still frozen on our plates.

Very rude waitress! If you don't want to work in the restaurant industry, you should find something else.

Today we had pizza and spaghetti carbonara on the patio. The spaghetti was freshly made and perfectly balanced with the ingredients, and the pizza base was delicious and slightly crispy, just as a pizza base should be. The service was extremely friendly. Highly recommended.

We've been here many times as Aachen residents, always with good quality and great service! Two things... flies at the window were annoying last time, as were the increasing number of beggars outside. As a restaurateur, please report the persistent begging at the tables to the city. We're always happy to come back!

In the heart of Aachen lies a hidden corner of Italy that tells ancient stories: a restaurant with a welcoming, almost magical atmosphere, where every detail—from the frescoes on the walls to the lovingly curated decorations—makes you feel like you're on a journey through time and flavor. I came here to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday, and it was a truly unforgettable evening. The menu offers a vast selection, and the staff is incredibly attentive and friendly. I chose a saltimbocca alla romana, which was simply spectacular! I also had the pleasure of tasting my companion's spaghetti with squid ink... a true feast for the palate. Dessert? A crème brûlée that ended the dinner perfectly: creamy, crunchy on top, a divine balance. But the most surprising moment of the evening was meeting Bruno, the waiter: he's also Sardinian like me, even from the same area as me... practically neighbors! A coincidence that made everything even more special. We'll definitely be back, and hopefully soon!

Visually, it's a beautiful restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. However, the food is absolutely not recommended, in my opinion. The portions are too small and the taste isn't great. My girlfriend and I had tagliatelle with strips of rump steak and bruschetta for starters. Very disappointing. 3/10 I'd happily go there for drinks, but not for food.

Déjeuner en terrasse. Accueil souriant de notre serveuse qui faisait l’effort de parler anglais, ce qui n’est pas le cas dans tous les restaurants allemands. Service rapide et prix corrects. Nous avons très bien mangé pizza / escalopes alla romana. Je recommande.

Schrecklicher Service. Die Cocktails sind ungenießbar. Dafür sind Ambiente und Essen wirklich gut. Ein wenig versalzen. Das Benehmen der Kellner lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig und ist in keine Weiße Kundenorientiert geschweige denn -freundlich. Definitiv keine Empfehlung wenn man darauf Wert legt.

Disappointing service, mixed impression overall. The cocktails were unfortunately barely drinkable and tasted underwhelming. The ambiance, however, was very appealing, and the food was also of good quality – albeit a bit too salty in places. However, the behavior of the service staff was particularly negative: inattentive, unfriendly, and not at all customer-oriented. Those who value good service will likely be disappointed here. Therefore, I unfortunately cannot recommend it.

Absolutamente el peor servicio de cualquier restaurante en el que he estado en toda Alemania (creo que cientos) la anfitriona comenzó con ser mocosa porque mi esposa no tenía hambre y arruinó un día perfectamente bueno con una comida final terrible. Grandes yikes por problemas de actitud con no todo el mundo pidiendo, por no mencionar que los cócteles también eran terribles Quiero decir, ¿cuán difícil es hacer una buena bebida mezclada? Oh moscas por todas partes por dentro y por fuera, no se puede olvidar de ese pequeño pedazo encantador. ¡No vayas aquí!

One Tuesday evening, I wanted to show this restaurant to my mother, who was visiting Aachen, because of the nice ambiance. The food was okay, not outstanding, but the space might be worth a visit (I thought). There wasn't even a greeting, and we were told to wait for the older waiter to look for a table for three (there were a few, but still free, tables both inside and outside). After 15 minutes, the lady came over and said curtly and rudely, "We're not accepting anyone else," without even looking at us. I hesitated for a moment, as I was thinking about where else to go. This was followed by a loud and unfriendly "Did you hear me?!" I don't know if it might have been racist, since I spoke a different language with my mother (but German with her colleague and my boyfriend), or if I looked too stupid for the lady; in any case, I won't let myself be treated like that. After that, we waited outside for a bit and a group walked past us and were given the table straight away. The waitress said they had a reservation, which didn't look like one to us. But okay, you never know. Anyway, I asked again why they made us wait for 15 minutes and then just left. I said that was a disgrace and the waitress started to get loud. I have no idea who this place thinks it is for; they definitely need to learn some manners. I can't agree with the comments here about the friendly and nice conditions. I'm actually inclined to say that you're supposed to look rich and preferably German so that you'll at least be welcomed. Very disappointing.

Das "Macaroni" ist nicht mehr zu empfehlen. Unfreundliche Begrüßung, statt "Guten Abend!"- "Hier können Sie nicht sitzen, der Tisch ist reserviert" (Für Gäste nicht erkennbar; kein Schild!). "Ach doch, er ist doch frei". Die Speisekarten sind klebrig und schmutzig. Es gibt kaum vegetarische Gerichte. Die Vorspeise Tris di Bruschette besteht aus drei Scheiben durchgeweichtem Weißbrot mit verkohltem Rand und kaum gewürzten breiförmigen Belägen, billigen Tomaten, kein Knoblauch; serviert auf welken Salatblättern!? Völlig überteuerte Preise! Das Restaurant ist wohl nicht mehr an Stammkundschaft interessiert!?

The food was ready quickly, so there wasn't a long wait. The tables were a bit small, but the restaurant was very cozy. The restrooms were clean and well-maintained, but a bit small.

Stellar service. Pizza was a bit on the salty side (maybe it is just my preference), however, the orange duck ravioli had very minimal flavour of the actual duck. Food overall is slightly disappointing.

I don't really recommend it, I ordered tuna carpaccio, it's not clear what it tastes like😬 pasta with truffle, you can't feel the truffle at all, and truffle always has a sharp taste. The most important thing is the beer, unfortunately it was not brought chilled😩 The pizza that my friends ordered was not the best. The toilet was certainly impressive😂

We reserved a table for 7:00 p.m. Upon arrival, we asked if we could sit outside. It wasn't possible. After 2 minutes, we asked the owner (?), and then we were able to. One of the four dishes was forgotten. This was the case even after reordering twice. The waiter asked who had taken the order, even though he had taken it himself. The waitress (who was responsible for us) had left the stove on at home and had to leave for a moment. They apologized, I still don't know exactly what for, but it was fine. But the whole thing had nothing to do with the service. It's a shame; we like going there every now and then. Not anymore. The food and price are okay, but nothing more. Service 1/5.

An absolute insider tip for anyone who loves authentic Italian cuisine! The ingredients are fresh, the dishes are prepared with love—you can simply taste the passion for good food. The warm atmosphere in the restaurant is particularly noteworthy—you immediately feel welcome. Whether it's pasta, pizza, or the rotating specials: everything is of the highest quality. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

After a day trip in Aachen, the seven of us went to eat here. Friendly welcome (especially by the young lady). Most of us ordered pizza. Well cared for and tasty. Tiramisu for dessert (decent portion) Definitely worth repeating.

The meat was tough and the sauce was not well seasoned. The waiter refused to give us a receipt and was unfortunately very inflexible. I was disappointed.

Unfortunately, the ribbon noodles with rump steak strips were missing the rump steak strips. Instead of strips there was rather tough goulash. I doubt whether the oversalted pasta in the “Bistecca al pepe verde” dish is homemade. The service was very friendly and also offered a small compensation

Everything was great all around, but the fact that there was no affogato was disappointing.

The restaurant itself is beautifully located in Aachen's old town, the rustic ambience fits the location very well. The service is nice, but unfortunately we were only moderately enthusiastic about the food. A very good starter was unfortunately followed by very salty pizzas, the base of which was very difficult to cut and chew (except in the middle, where the base was completely soaked from the toppings).

Review of Macaroni Restaurant in Aachen First Impression Walking into Macaroni, the restaurant feels somewhat dated. The interior, with its old-fashioned decor, and the clientele give off a slightly outdated vibe, which doesn’t immediately inspire confidence. Starters The meal started on a high note with the soup, which was genuinely delightful and full of flavor. However, the carpaccio with arugula was a letdown. The arugula was piled on excessively, overwhelming the dish and throwing off its balance. Main Courses The steak was a solid performer, cooked well and satisfying. Unfortunately, the spaghetti was a miss—overloaded with chervil, which gave the pasta an unpleasant, soapy taste that was simply too much. The tagliata toscana also disappointed, with oversized slabs of cheese and an overly heavy-handed balsamic dressing. Nothing felt balanced, and the flavors were out of sync. We raised this with the staff, and to their credit, they offered us a complimentary drink to make up for it. Overall The service was decent, earning a 7/10 for attentiveness and the gesture of the extra drink. However, the food was a major letdown, scoring a 4.5/10 due to the lack of balance and overpowering flavors.

The first time we visited was in October 2024. Sunday afternoon, we came for lunch and the service was very nice. Today was our 2nd visit, we came excited to experience the food and hospitality once again. However, it hasn't happened. Saturday afternoon, around lunch time, barely 6 guests in the restaurant. From the entrance already they gave an unpleasant attitude. We were seated, and after being served, I can only say that our first impressions are watered down. Raviolis were bland, grocery store cheap bag flavour, for 24EUR. You could do it better at home. Lamb chops were decent, but nothing more. Rose wine was good. Anyway, we will hardly go back again.

War sehr kurz entschlossen hier essen zu gehen und hat mich nicht enttäuscht, im Gegenteil das ich hier eine authentische Küche erleben durfte, mit Meiner Meinung nach exzellenten Küche und Personal kann ich nur allen nahe legen hier mal vorbei zu schauen und sich verwöhnen zu lassen. Auch die Lokalität selber war eine Augenweide. Komme, qwenn ich hier wieder mal bin auf alle Fälle wieder.

Nous avions choisis ce restaurant pour une soirée en amoureux et sur base des commentaires ainsi que la carte proposée. Le cadre et le service sont vraiment agréables, le repas était bon (entrées, plats et dessert à partager plus bouteille de vin) mais il manquait d’ajustement, d’assaisonnements, sur base de la carte et des ingrédients on s’attendait à plus de « saveur ». Le vin était très bon.

I can definitely recommend it here. However, I didn't use the toilets at all, there was no need. Very nice service and very tasty food, we had salmon noodles with recommended and very tasty white wine. The only thing I personally didn't like (hence deducting a star) is that the tables were placed too close to each other, not even half a meter apart. You couldn't talk much because the people sitting next to you at the table were sometimes so loud that you were constantly distracted because you inevitably heard everything.

A warm visit to the Italian restaurant at Christmas time We visited the restaurant spontaneously without a reservation and were warmly welcomed and quickly shown to a table despite the Christmas crowds. The festive atmosphere and the friendly service made the evening particularly pleasant. The food was served quickly, was warm and delicious - you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. The mix of excellent service, delicious food and Christmas flair was simply perfect. We'd love to come back!

To sum it up briefly: Location Top. Eating a flop. Unfortunately the pasta was almost tasteless/watery.

Bonnes salades et pâtes. Bon dessert. J'ai été surpris qu'à l'addition un pourboire me soit réclamé. Après vérification ce n'est pas une obligation de le donner. Donc j'ai trouvé cela un peu "cavalier".
