We can recommend this place; the food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the value for money is excellent.

Just ok. My vegetarian pizza had little taste. The pasta carbonara of my table companion was also mediocre but ok. Not bad food but just average.

Stellar service. Pizza was a bit on the salty side (maybe it is just my preference), however, the orange duck ravioli had very minimal flavour of the actual duck. Food overall is slightly disappointing.

Three times three courses, all different dishes and all very good, wine delicious, all around a success 😋

I don't really recommend it, I ordered tuna carpaccio, it's not clear what it tastes like😬 pasta with truffle, you can't feel the truffle at all, and truffle always has a sharp taste. The most important thing is the beer, unfortunately it was not brought chilled😩 The pizza that my friends ordered was not the best. The toilet was certainly impressive😂

We reserved a table for 7:00 p.m. Upon arrival, we asked if we could sit outside. It wasn't possible. After 2 minutes, we asked the owner (?), and then we were able to. One of the four dishes was forgotten. This was the case even after reordering twice. The waiter asked who had taken the order, even though he had taken it himself. The waitress (who was responsible for us) had left the stove on at home and had to leave for a moment. They apologized, I still don't know exactly what for, but it was fine. But the whole thing had nothing to do with the service. It's a shame; we like going there every now and then. Not anymore. The food and price are okay, but nothing more. Service 1/5.

An absolute insider tip for anyone who loves authentic Italian cuisine! The ingredients are fresh, the dishes are prepared with love—you can simply taste the passion for good food. The warm atmosphere in the restaurant is particularly noteworthy—you immediately feel welcome. Whether it's pasta, pizza, or the rotating specials: everything is of the highest quality. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

After a day trip in Aachen, the seven of us went to eat here. Friendly welcome (especially by the young lady). Most of us ordered pizza. Well cared for and tasty. Tiramisu for dessert (decent portion) Definitely worth repeating.

The meat was tough and the sauce was not well seasoned. The waiter refused to give us a receipt and was unfortunately very inflexible. I was disappointed.

Unfortunately, the ribbon noodles with rump steak strips were missing the rump steak strips. Instead of strips there was rather tough goulash. I doubt whether the oversalted pasta in the “Bistecca al pepe verde” dish is homemade. The service was very friendly and also offered a small compensation

Everything was great all around, but the fact that there was no affogato was disappointing.

The restaurant itself is beautifully located in Aachen's old town, the rustic ambience fits the location very well. The service is nice, but unfortunately we were only moderately enthusiastic about the food. A very good starter was unfortunately followed by very salty pizzas, the base of which was very difficult to cut and chew (except in the middle, where the base was completely soaked from the toppings).

Very friendly, good food, even Sardinian Ichnusa beer is available here! 😃

Review of Macaroni Restaurant in Aachen First Impression Walking into Macaroni, the restaurant feels somewhat dated. The interior, with its old-fashioned decor, and the clientele give off a slightly outdated vibe, which doesn’t immediately inspire confidence. Starters The meal started on a high note with the soup, which was genuinely delightful and full of flavor. However, the carpaccio with arugula was a letdown. The arugula was piled on excessively, overwhelming the dish and throwing off its balance. Main Courses The steak was a solid performer, cooked well and satisfying. Unfortunately, the spaghetti was a miss—overloaded with chervil, which gave the pasta an unpleasant, soapy taste that was simply too much. The tagliata toscana also disappointed, with oversized slabs of cheese and an overly heavy-handed balsamic dressing. Nothing felt balanced, and the flavors were out of sync. We raised this with the staff, and to their credit, they offered us a complimentary drink to make up for it. Overall The service was decent, earning a 7/10 for attentiveness and the gesture of the extra drink. However, the food was a major letdown, scoring a 4.5/10 due to the lack of balance and overpowering flavors.

Frozen pizza baked in the oven. Not recommended because it only has the name of an Italian restaurant.

Nice restaurant right next to the cathedral. Even though we didn't have a reservation, the waitress squeezed us in. Luckily, because the food was great. It's not for nothing that the restaurant is so busy.

The first time we visited was in October 2024. Sunday afternoon, we came for lunch and the service was very nice. Today was our 2nd visit, we came excited to experience the food and hospitality once again. However, it hasn't happened. Saturday afternoon, around lunch time, barely 6 guests in the restaurant. From the entrance already they gave an unpleasant attitude. We were seated, and after being served, I can only say that our first impressions are watered down. Raviolis were bland, grocery store cheap bag flavour, for 24EUR. You could do it better at home. Lamb chops were decent, but nothing more. Rose wine was good. Anyway, we will hardly go back again.

Very tasty food (I had pasta with strips of rump steak) in a lovely, authentic atmosphere. The service was also very friendly, but at times a bit inattentive and not proactive enough. All of this is complaining at a very high level ;)

Everything here tastes simply fantastic! When I'm craving authentic Italian food, this is my first choice. Plus, the super friendly service – I absolutely recommend it!

War sehr kurz entschlossen hier essen zu gehen und hat mich nicht enttäuscht, im Gegenteil das ich hier eine authentische Küche erleben durfte, mit Meiner Meinung nach exzellenten Küche und Personal kann ich nur allen nahe legen hier mal vorbei zu schauen und sich verwöhnen zu lassen. Auch die Lokalität selber war eine Augenweide. Komme, qwenn ich hier wieder mal bin auf alle Fälle wieder.

Nous avions choisis ce restaurant pour une soirée en amoureux et sur base des commentaires ainsi que la carte proposée. Le cadre et le service sont vraiment agréables, le repas était bon (entrées, plats et dessert à partager plus bouteille de vin) mais il manquait d’ajustement, d’assaisonnements, sur base de la carte et des ingrédients on s’attendait à plus de « saveur ». Le vin était très bon.

I can definitely recommend it here. However, I didn't use the toilets at all, there was no need. Very nice service and very tasty food, we had salmon noodles with recommended and very tasty white wine. The only thing I personally didn't like (hence deducting a star) is that the tables were placed too close to each other, not even half a meter apart. You couldn't talk much because the people sitting next to you at the table were sometimes so loud that you were constantly distracted because you inevitably heard everything.

A warm visit to the Italian restaurant at Christmas time We visited the restaurant spontaneously without a reservation and were warmly welcomed and quickly shown to a table despite the Christmas crowds. The festive atmosphere and the friendly service made the evening particularly pleasant. The food was served quickly, was warm and delicious - you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. The mix of excellent service, delicious food and Christmas flair was simply perfect. We'd love to come back!

To sum it up briefly: Location Top. Eating a flop. Unfortunately the pasta was almost tasteless/watery.

We were there yesterday with a group of girls and we were all very disappointed. The food was oversalted, some of it was undercooked and the prices were extremely overpriced.

I was at Macaroni with my mother (walker). Although it was very busy, the service was attentive and tried very hard to shorten our waiting time. The food tasted good (salmon and lasagna). We'd love to come back.

I've never experienced anything so inflexible! When ordering there was a simple extra request, pizza without cheese (due to intolerance) not possible -> the waitress said: "Only what is on the menu, no special requests as there is too much going on in the restaurant". Then we got up and left.

I’ve passed this restaurant many times and assumed it was like the pasta/macaroni restaurants in the USA. I was very pleasantly surprised to see such beautiful decor and enjoy one of the best authentic Italian pizzas that I have ever had, including those I’ve had in Italy. The table of 8+ people next to us were all enjoying the pasta. I heard them tell the waitress how pleased they were with their meals. My adult niece and I highly recommend Macaroni and I look forward to visiting again the next time that I bring guests to tour the city of Aachen. Special thanks to the chef and to the very friendly host/waitress.

More than 5 stars in my opinion – this evening was truly exceptional! Everything was just right. The stylish, special ambience immediately created a feel-good atmosphere, which was perfectly complemented by the attentive and warm service. The food was not only excellently prepared, but also a real treat for the senses, and the selection of drinks left nothing to be desired. Every detail testified to quality and love for the guest. It was a great evening that I will remember for a long time. I'm sure it wasn't my last visit - I'm already looking forward to the next time!

Walked past it a thousand times... In this part of the city center, almost everything, especially the restaurants, is geared towards tourists... Nevertheless, they also go out for a good meal occasionally 😉... I was here because of an appointment with friends and I'm wondering I'm sure you can eat and drink well here in a historic atmosphere! Also: friendly service! So: gladly again!

It was so pleasant to eat there. Friendly service. Nobody was upset that my guest was 20 minutes late and I had taken the table. The meals were tasty, especially the scallops starter and the dish 44, black spaghetti with salmon, calamari rings and small prawns. The friendly smile of the waitress and the owner asking if everything was okay rounded off the evening. And the atmosphere made you feel good. The prices are anything but exorbitant. I will definitely eat there again on my next visit to Aachen.

It's just that the restaurant has been recommended many times and I'm really looking forward to it. It was just after 9 p.m. and the restaurant was busy. There were a 4-seater table, a 6-seater table and a 2-seater table available at the front left. When asked if the kitchen was still open, the gentleman behind the counter said "until 9:30 p.m." He told us from the counter that we could sit down, so we headed for a table for four in the corner. The waitress immediately came, slammed the menus onto the tiny table for two and turned on us with the words: "No, don't sit here, if there's another big group coming I'll need the table." We politely asked if we could take a seat, and there was another loud announcement: "Nah, I said" We then left the restaurant. The lady then complained about us to the gentleman behind the counter, that's not possible. When you scare away your guests like that... We definitely won't be coming back and won't recommend the place either.

Again in beautiful Aachen and I can only say the restaurant is super good from A-Z. Great service, cozy atmosphere and delicious food, whether homemade pasta, steak or pulp, etc. everything was top.

Ich war tatsächlich über die negativen Bewertungen verwundert. An diesem Donnerstagabend waren wir mit Kollegen inkl. Chef (waren für drei Tage auf einem Seminar) beim Macaroni essen. Die Begrüßung war offen und herzlich. Uns wurde unser Tisch gezeigt und direkt die Menukarten ausgehändigt. Allein die Karte zu lesen hat mir das Wasser im Munde zusammenlaufen lassen. Meine Kollegin und ich haben uns eine Vorspeise geteilt (drei Variationen von Bruschetta). Diese waren für uns zwei definitiv ausreichend, waren super lecker und haben uns Lust auf mehr gemacht. Nach dem jeweiligen Aperitif wollten wir eine schöne Weinbegleitung haben. Die absolut sympathische und authentische Kellnerin Iris hat uns einen traumhaften Wein empfohlen (dieser gehört ab sofort zu meinen Lieblingsweinen-> danke Iris!🫶🏼). Es folgte der Hauptgang, der sowie das Dessert wieder top waren. Im Großen und Ganzen ein wunderbarer Abend mit tollem Essen und Service. Ich würde definitiv wiederkommen!

Letzten Sonntag habe ich mit einem befreundeten Paar das Restaurant besucht. Das war auch mit Rollstuhl kein Problem. Nachdem wir die vielfältige Speisekarte studiert hatten, haben wir uns alle 3 für eine Pizza entschieden. Jeder hatte eine andere und wir waren alle sehr zufrieden. Die Bedienung war freundlich und das Ambiente angenehm. Wir kommen gern wieder! In den Sommermonaten empfiehlt des sich allerdings, zu reservieren. Das Restaurant ist sehr gut besucht und bietet sowohl innen als auch draußen Tische.

We were at Macaroni with a larger group on a Saturday evening. Even though it was very busy, the service was friendly and quick. All of the food for our group arrived at the same time and we were all satisfied.

I have eaten several times in one word, great, very good food, good, extensive menu, excellent service, I would love to come back here and so would my sister and her husband.

The ambience is very nice, unfortunately the food was not convincing. When we visited Aachen, we decided on Macaroni because we had a very good meal there a few years ago. Our disappointment was therefore all the greater. The bruschette's bread was soggy and the topping was disappointing. The lamb chops were so-so and the pesto that came with them had a bitter aftertaste. The crème brûlée was reminiscent of an egg custard 🫣 Unfortunately a disappointment across the board

We had a great evening at Macaroni. Nice friendly atmosphere. Our server was lovely - can’t remember her name but she had excellent English having lived and worked in Manchester. Food was excellent. I had Vitello Tonnato and Saltimbocca - both excellent. Very good value too. Highly recommended.

We were in the restaurant today and got a miserable impression: there is an unpleasant smell inside, the interior was probably very chic once (30 years ago), today - in need of renovation, the food was inedible and too expensive: a pizza - 15 €, Dumplings - 17€ Never again!

This is a great place to spend an evening. The building itself is full of character and the food and service is excellent. We arrived without a reservation and Iris went out of her way to find us a table so we were not disappointed. The evening was made extra special by the great wine, and we were given plenty of time to enjoy this after our meal, and did not feel under any pressure to leave as soon as our meal was finished. We will definitely return the next time we are visiting the area.

What we received was of good quality; After about 90 minutes we canceled the order for the main course; We had the impression that they had forgotten to order this in the kitchen. Unfortunately, communication was quite poor and it was difficult to keep things in line. There was also no further order for drinks; a shame as what came out of the kitchen looked very good. Another try will definitely follow - everyone has bad days.

Restaurant verspricht viel mehr als es bietet 6er Tisch für 7 Personen ( mit Reservierung) kein Platz für den Salatteller! Geschmacklich waren weder Pasta noch Pizza überzeugend lieblos arrangiert und serviert Preis/Leistung unterirdisch…..eine Flasche „selbstgesprudeltes“ Wasser ( 0,7) für 7 Euro , Salat Calabrese( 1 Tomate , 4 Scheiben Mozzarella, ohne besonderen Geschmack )…16,50 Euro Unfreundlicher Kellner , vergisst die Hälfte und rennt beim kassieren ständig zum Telefon.
