MA Bremen-Schlachte in Bremen

The food and drinks were really not tasty. The pizza rolls were burnt, hard and completely dry and a layer had already formed on the top of the dips because they had been standing for so long. The fries were extremely greasy and disgusting and in general it was very noticeable how much food was left standing, so it was probably not just our food that wasn't tasty. I would never eat there again. Apart from that, the staff was really nice. It wasn't there often, but there was a lot going on :)

I read through the other posts and I have to say nothing has changed. The toilet looks like shit and I was also able to look into the kitchen and was shocked at what it looked like! And yes, I wouldn't have eaten there. I'm sitting at home with nausea and diarrhea!

Today we had breakfast at the Schlachte. We sat outside, it's wonderful there with a view of the Weser. The staff is very accommodating, even changing the order was possible. The drinks arrived quickly, breakfast was a long time coming, but there were a lot of guests and everything was served in order, which is perfectly fine. My companion and I would be happy to be guests in the restaurant again in the future, especially because we would like to try out other dishes, as the other guests' dishes looked very appetizing.

We were mostly very happy here. Food and drinks are a little more expensive, but tasty. Unfortunately, waiter Tim disappointed us very much this time. Anyone can be in a bad mood at times, but it shouldn't be taken out on the customer. He was very mushy both at our table and at the neighboring tables. He often rolled his eyes and didn't seem like he wanted to serve you. That totally dampened the mood. We won't be coming back again.

The shop offers delicious drinks and an ideal location right on the river. The setting becomes particularly lively and atmospheric in the evening. Here, you can enjoy a refreshing drink and feel the gentle breeze – simply relaxing. The stylish furnishings and warm lighting create a romantic, cozy atmosphere. A perfect place to unwind!

Based on a recommendation, we went to the MA at Schlachte with 8 girls to eat and drink cocktails. The service was great, the food and cocktails were very, very tasty and the menu is really great!! Reservation by phone in advance worked great. The loud music made it a little difficult to talk to everyone at the table, but the playlist was great! :) The only point of criticism: we sat downstairs directly behind the stairs in the middle of the room and it was extremely drafty, so we were all really cold despite wearing cardigans/sweaters. The waitress reacted immediately and closed the curtain (which was really nice!!), which made things slightly better for a short time... unfortunately it only moved on because of the constant going in and out of guests and staff. We probably would have had two or three more cocktails and sat longer if we hadn't all been so cold. That was a bit of a shame for both sides. On the whole, we would be happy to come back, but we would ask in advance for a table further back in the restaurant or on the edge. :)

A must at Schlachte in summer! Great design right on the water! Very nice, hard-working service staff who are unfortunately often understaffed...as is so often the case in restaurants! The menu has something to offer for everyone and the preparation is fresh and delicious! There are lots of green and healthy things to feast on, but also small sins! Tip: If the weather is good, enjoy the sun on the Weser for breakfast in the morning!

The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Unfortunately the music was too loud, so you could hardly have a conversation without “screaming”. Ambience like a canteen in rush hour, unfortunately too many tables in a small square meter, this would be perfect for speed dating. Excellent waterfront location. Unfortunately, mice are also guests during the meal. I had lost my appetite. I would certainly recommend it, given that you can suddenly have such little guests on the canal.

Unfortunately we had to wait a long time before we could order and even when we wanted to pay we had to tell someone four times before we could pay. Overall, cozy atmosphere, but inattentive staff.

Great location, delicious breakfast buffet on Sunday and a nice team. You'll be happy to come back there. Only the volume at 10 a.m. was quite high. That changed from 11:30 a.m. So maybe it's better to sleep in 😉

I went to dinner in the MA yesterday afternoon. There was pizza that was served relatively cold. Plus tons of onions, which unfortunately weren't on the menu so I could have canceled them and the aforementioned basil was missing. When I made a note to the service staff, a few sheets of paper were placed on the table with the comment: I can please put them on myself... okay, that's not the worst thing that happened to me, but all in all the service staff was rather annoyed and unfriendly. What was really bad, however, was the view into the kitchen on the way to the toilet. If I had seen this before eating I would have left immediately, it was hard to beat in terms of uncleanliness. I was really shocked

We were there with 6 people. Staff impersonal, food was only lukewarm. We won't go there again!

Was there this week, can highly recommend. Food was very tasty and plentiful. Good service, everything went very quickly. The ambience is of course excellent. Next time I visit Bremen I'll probably be back at the start.

Great service, and the food is good too.

While looking for a way to find good lunch, we came across this restaurant. The ambience is very nice to look at. What we liked best was the large pot with the lid in the air. The food was also very tasty and plentiful. A little insider tip.

When we arrived on January 16th When we went to eat at Ma, we listened to Christmas music 😅 which is a bit funny. The food was okay but not really good, the service was catastrophic, the waiter didn't have time to clear up because he urgently had to smoke five cigarettes outside. When I wanted to go to the toilet, the passage was full of garbage, baskets and boxes and the pantry etc. was open……. When we paid and pointed out the grievances to the waiter, he said; Have a nice evening….. nothing more needs to be said. We never again.

Individual ambience, exciting audience, great food selection.

We spontaneously went to MA Bremen- Schlachte during the Christmas market season and luckily got a table. The atmosphere was really nice and matched the cozy Christmas atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive, everything ran smoothly and without any noticeable waiting times. The food tasted very good and the prices are absolutely reasonable for the location on the Schlachte. The only small criticism was the high noise level, which made it difficult to have a conversation at a normal volume - but that is probably due to the lively atmosphere. All in all a great experience, we would love to come back! 🎄🍴

We were in MA on Monday evening to satisfy our craving for sweets. Although the restaurant was quite full, we got a table straight away and were served quickly. I had the Dubai Chocolate and the Las Vegan. Both were super tasty and the portion sizes were just right. I was particularly pleased that both the hot chocolate and the coconut porridge were not completely over-sweetened, but had a really pleasant sweetness. The only thing that bothered us during our visit was the loud music. Due to the conversations of the numerous other guests, there was already a certain level of noise and it felt as if the music was supposed to drown it out. You had to pretty much bark at each other to understand each other. Otherwise, we were very satisfied with the food, service and pricing, so we would be happy to come back.

Initially, I planned to put four points about our experience, but one incident prompted me to revise my thoughts. We ordered Schnitzel, and the waiter offered us a choice between original and sweet potato fries. We opted for the sweet potato. However, upon settling the bill, we noticed an EXTRA charge of 1.5€ for the fries, which the waiter hadn’t mentioned. While we did find this detail in the menu, our limited proficiency in German made it a bit challenging for us. My girlfriend decided to address this with the waiter or manager. Unfortunately, instead of receiving an apology or at least a calm response, we were met with a rather loud reaction directed at her. This was surprising and disappointing, as respectful communication is important, especially in 2024. While I must say the food was quite enjoyable, I did have some concerns about the freshness of something in my salad. Overall, the staff interaction overshadowed our dining experience, and I hope my feedback can contribute to better communication in the future. Thank you for considering my perspective.

I spontaneously went to a concert in Bremen and was looking for something for breakfast. There is a buffet here, as I read. Since I was spontaneous, everything was reserved, but the lovely service still had a little corner for me. Very cozy location, the service came across as friendly and humorous. Food and coffee were delicious. Next time I'll try the buffet with a reservation.

I have never received such an inedible dish in a restaurant etc. If only I had read the feedback beforehand. The vegetables in the Asian Chicken Bowl were overcooked, you could hardly tell them apart in color, and they were garnished with raw carrot sticks, which were unfortunately dry and sandy. The breaded chicken sticks were also very dry. We previously had pizza rolls that weren't fresh either, the dips (tomato etc.) with them were sweetened, maybe. because they got mad. You don't know. The iced tea was very watery, with hardly any taste. I won't eat there again and won't recommend it to anyone else. The service staff was more busy with the tea lights than asking if everything was okay. The chef should take a look at bowls on the Internet so that he doesn't keep serving guests this kind of crap or he should take it off the menu. Chicken bowl 16.50 + iced tea 6.00 + pizza rolls 8.00 = €30.50 I should pay €31.25 Unfortunately there are worse toilets but there are also much better ones.

Beautifully decorated restaurant with a lively atmosphere. We were there with a group and the reservation worked wonderfully (I would also recommend it for the weekend, every table was occupied). We were very satisfied with the drinks and food, the burger was really good. There was only a bit of a problem with the drink replenishment; after we had finished eating, it felt like no one came by to take a new order. It may be due to staffing levels, but it was a bit of a shame for both sides. Overall, definitely worth a visit.

The only good thing about this place is the beautiful location and the beautiful design inside. Unfortunately the quality of the food is terrible. Things are not very fresh, especially vegetables and fruits, not seasoned at all. I tried it a few times and each time it was a huge disappointment. The chef doesn't use any spices, you get tomatoes, cucumbers that are half dead, without salt, pepper or even olive oil. Maybe it's okay for a drink, but I would definitely avoid food.

Nice restaurant with great decor. The food tasted very tasty and was prepared quickly. Unfortunately, billing and ordering took a relatively long time. We had to wait about 40 minutes for the bill. It was a Saturday evening and therefore very crowded. So maybe bring a little more time on the weekend. Otherwise highly recommended.

It was our first time there for dinner and I was actually looking forward to it. But my stool was very stained and my food wasn't particularly good either. It stood at the counter for a very long time until it was brought. The sweet potato fries were lukewarm and well burnt, the avocado dip was not a dip, just mashed avocado. The vegan burger was made with very thick slices of brown bread that were very rubbery. None of us liked the dessert, the cheesecake cream, which was much too runny. My daughter's dessert was supposed to contain chocolate sprinkles. They weren't available, instead there were large, hard chocolate drops. But it wasn't mentioned when it was served. Not recommended.

Good drinks and nice service! Celebrated a friend's birthday there and the waitress spontaneously turned on birthday music. Definitely a very nice experience! Aside from that, the store is extremely chic.

The terrace/beer garden right on the Weser promenade - that's THE top location in Bremen's beautiful city center! And that's why I can only give the ambience (obviously we weren't inside) the best rating! Really wonderful! Unfortunately there was the small drawback of the service. Well, the young man tried hard, but was clearly overwhelmed. This was partly due to the fact that (perhaps because of the Freimarkt parade, but certainly because of the nice weather) the terrace was fully occupied. Despite all understanding of the lack of personnel, a single person for this large area is a major misplanning! And especially in a city as surprisingly young as Bremen with many students, it should be possible to recruit a few more people to the team - of course only if the working conditions are right. Maybe you'll do something about it until we come back! 😉

Super delicious breakfast buffet, absolutely great value for money! There are just a lot of tables in a very small space, so the background noise is loud and if you sit in the aisle, it can quickly happen that every second person bumps into your chair due to the lack of space. The food and selection were very tasty!!

Phew. It was reserved for 7 people. Was asked by phone how long we were staying. 3 hours were agreed. So 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. At 7:15 p.m. we were told we had to leave because there were more reservations. Really bad trick. I could have understood if we had clung to our drinks. But we ordered diligently. The food was great, but it's questionable whether we'll give it to ourselves again. Embarrassing number from Ma.

Burger because we had a voucher. First impression, the chairs all have stains... that's not possible! Service okay. But why does a burger take 30 even though the store is hardly busy?! No, that's it for us, there are better stores. Oh yes, the X~CutFries were lukewarm!!

A little too loud to have a conversation.

The MA is a restaurant that looks modern. However, it does not have any extraordinary aspects. It is clean and tidy but also a little sparse/empty and without any eye-catchers. Unless you want to look at yourself in the mirror. The menu is larger, probably to try to suit everyone's tastes. The children's meals were priced OK. However, I found the remaining dishes to be a bit too high. The pizza we ate was topped with good products and the own cheese mixture on it was very good and, with a diameter of 32cm, quite large. The staff was friendly and gave us the uneaten food for the children without any problems. Even if it didn't blow me away, I would still come back.

Great view, delicious food and fair prices - we liked it so much, we went straight back to 'Ma' two days later! PS: Best tip: order the 'chocolate dippers' for dessert 💯

Great restaurant with very friendly staff, the food is simply delicious and the portions and prices are reasonable. There is also a lot to see here. The furnishings make you think you're sitting in a kind of museum. Many objects from bygone times make a visit here a nostalgic experience.

I was there for brunch on a Saturday and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow, which was a big deal since we didn't have that much time. Unfortunately I have to say that the changing corner is horrible. It's super small and really doesn't offer any space. There is a fear that the baby will fall if it moves a little more

You can eat delicious food here, the bowls are super tasty. Even larger portions than 2 years ago. Only the sunrise bowl doesn't taste as delicious as it did 2 years ago... The peanut curry bowl is recommended.

We sat in the front row on the Weser in the best weather. The service was always present and very friendly. Our food came after about 20 minutes. Our schnitzels were hot and very tasty. Everything seemed fresh. Furthermore, the portion was really big. My only small criticism is that the sauce could be served in a separate container so that the schnitzel stays crispy. The ambience in the restaurant is also very nice.

You have to drive from Berlin to Bremen to get a really good cheeseburger. All around great restaurant with wonderful views, excellent service and great food and drinks. It was really like a vacation, just in Bremen. Great, keep it up.

Nice restaurant on the Schlachte. We chose the lunch menu and were very satisfied with the price-performance ratio. The service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is very modern and cozy. Eik star deduction: The seating and menus in the outdoor area could be a little cleaner.

I am particularly enthusiastic about the menu. It was not only creative, but also written with a lot of humor, which immediately created a friendly atmosphere. We had two cocktails to drink: the Lollipop and a seasonal soda. Both drinks tasted solid and rounded off the experience well. One point of criticism is the seating, which was really uncomfortable (outside). Overall a nice visit. 💫

We were there with a larger group on a Friday evening. Drinks and food were delivered quickly. Everything tasted good. I had to leave early because I was there with a baby and unfortunately had to ask for the bill several times. Yes, Friday evening and it was busy. But I waited about half an hour for the bill. This is very annoying with a baby.
