A piece of Turkey in the heart of the city: warm hospitality, fantastic music, and pure culinary delights! I recently visited Lyly Restaurant and was absolutely thrilled! This place is much more than just a restaurant—it's an experience. The moment you enter, you immediately feel at home. The atmosphere is wonderfully intimate and warm. You immediately feel the love that goes into making it. The absolute highlight, of course, was the live music. The musicians are fantastic and create such an exuberant yet deeply moving atmosphere that you'll want to stay until the early hours. The selection of music was perfect—traditional yet captivating. But the cuisine is no less impressive: the food is simply magnificent and authentically delicious. We had a mixed grill and noodles, and everything was freshly prepared, perfectly seasoned, and of the highest quality. You can taste the Turkish cuisine in every bite. The service is attentive and incredibly friendly, which further underlines the family-like feeling. ​Conclusion: If you want to spend an evening with genuine Turkish hospitality, excellent live music, and outstanding food, this is the place for you. A must for all lovers of Turkish culture and cuisine! We'll definitely be back! ​

Highly recommended if you want to enjoy Turkish cuisine, live Turkish music, raki (anise liqueur), and friendly people. Everyone can sing along or dance as they please. I really like that!

Great location, great food, great service!

We had such great service here. The lady and gentleman looked after us so well and even rescued our children from a wasp! They were welcoming and helpful. The food was good, a little expensive but not compared to others locally.

This is the only restaurant in the entire square with comfortable seating. You can really linger here. I was there alone and was very warmly welcomed and served excellently. I'll be back.

Food was tasty, cant recommend the shrimps, you better go for the salmon pasta

We recently visited LyLy Restaurant in Cologne and had a mixed experience. Ambience: The interior is inviting and nicely decorated, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. However, the space was uncomfortably warm and felt quite stuffy. Unfortunately, there was no noticeable air circulation or air conditioning, which significantly impacted the comfort of our dining experience, especially on a warmer day. Live Music: The live music performance was excellent and added a wonderful touch to the overall experience. It was tasteful, well-executed, and created a pleasant vibe without being overwhelming. Definitely one of the highlights of our visit. Food: We ordered the turkey schnitzel, salmon, steak, and hamsi. While the hamsi and steak were decent, both the turkey schnitzel and salmon were disappointing. The schnitzel was very dry and clearly overcooked — a real shame, especially given the portion size was extremely small. It couldn’t have been more than 100 grams, which is not acceptable for the price of €19.90. The salmon had a similar issue — it was over-seared, with the bottom side already browned and a bit too crispy, lacking the tenderness you’d expect. Overall, while the service and certain dishes were satisfactory, the value for money and temperature control in the dining space leave room for improvement. LyLy has potential, but some key elements need to be addressed for a truly enjoyable experience.

Even though we only drank six small Kölsch beers, we were asked to pay for nine. When we refused, the waiter became rude and insisted we pay what was on the bill. Never again! Ayip

Surprisingly good! The food was good, "rump steak and kofte plate." Normally, you get rushed at tourist hotspots, but not in this case. The service was excellent, and the food exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend it.

Very expensive, and you pay extra for tiny sachets of mayonnaise and ketchup, with no warning beforehand. French fries are served without mayonnaise and/or ketchup.

I had dinner there with my wife yesterday and the restaurant was chosen spontaneously without any local knowledge. The service was friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious, although I stuck to Turkish cuisine and my wife to German cuisine. Plus crispy flatbread, there was nothing to complain about. On the contrary, I haven't eaten so well in a long time.

That old man singing is sooooo DISRESPECTFUL. The food is okay. It's not a place I'll go as long as he's there. A group of women went for March 8th, the man told us that we should mourn on March 8th and if we wanted to have fun, we should go somewhere else. But he is walking around and having fun, with a glass of raki in his hand. It doesn't fit there anyway.

The food was very delicious. The employees were also very attentive. It was a little overwhelming only because there was a lot of intensity during the music hours, but everything was great.

It was my first time in this location and I was very positively surprised by the atmosphere with live Turkish music - we really liked it. The starters were very tasty, there is nothing to complain about. My main course tried hard, but wasn't entirely convincing, which is why I can't give it five stars. The service could be improved, but overall the price-performance ratio was okay.

First we went there they said the place is full, come back at 10pm and until that time look around. And then they said we have a place but you can only sit until 10pm. The waiter's behavior was also rude. We were there as three Turkish girl as a tourist so we don't know german and even he knows we don't know the language sometimes he kept talking german. And taking order must not be taking so long. Also when it's almost 10 he said you need to go but before that another person who works there told us it's okay to stay. And when it's exactly 10pm the waiter bring the bill and left. How are we supposed to pay? We waited like 10-15 minutes for paying. Also you can't split the bill equally, why is that?

Great Turkish restaurant in Cologne's old town at the Alter Markt. Live music on Saturdays

Food is fine, rest is mediocre: apparently the restaurant has to be full, so couples are simply 'crammed' together, cutlery arrives late, drinks arrive late, price slightly out of proportion to quality and service

We were welcomed as if we were part of the owner's family. Well attended to, they pleased the child who accompanied us and the beer and food were delicious and exactly what we ordered.

Went to a concert and came across this live music bar afterwards. Were served immediately, very polite and courteous. The singer had a great voice and set the mood. The whole store took part, it was a lot of fun. I can definitely recommend it

Paramos aquí para tomar unas cervezas durante los euros en el verano. La plaza estaba llena de aficionados al fútbol y afortunadamente logramos conseguir algunos asientos aquí. Las cervezas tenían un precio razonable de 5 euros y sabían muy bien.

Unlike the name would have one assume, they don't only serve burgers. The beef steaks are also nice, the classic schnitzels and the mushrooms in olive oil were also a delight. If you order different meals it will take a while though, so keep that in mind. The drinks are on the pricey side. Overal a good experience and would certainly recommend.

There were 8 of us there and the singer hit on us in a very rude way because we were supposedly talking too loudly. If he wants to give a concert, he should go to the Live Music Hall and not shut the guests up. The service was also poor and the food was very overpriced. Can't recommend the shop and won't eat there again.

The food was good really nothing to complain about! But the host was terrible, very unfriendly to his cook. Swearing, discriminating and shouting is too bizarre. The cash register was defective, so everything took a little longer, which is understandable. But if customers are also verbally abused when they want to pay with their debit card, this really goes too far. And when other customers don't tip, he shouts: what do you mean, no drinking money!!! Poor colleagues of that man!

It's a family restaurant that we entered by chance and felt the warm atmosphere inside. The meals are very delicious and satisfying. We preferred lamb. Prices were generally reasonable. If you talk about the atmosphere, Mr. Mehmet Ali and Ms. Esma will make you feel the Turkish hospitality with their smiling faces when you enter. Since there is live music, it is best to make a reservation if you are coming after a certain time.

There were four of us there and we basically had fun... ate a lot (3 courses) and drank a lot... with the food, it was ok... but nothing more... A little more attention from the waiters would be appropriate here. In some cases drinks were not brought and side dishes were forgotten. The live music and location were great…

Because the food was so praised, it was like everywhere else. There was nothing special, not even in taste. I had these meatballs with rice and a tomato sauce. I don't normally eat the side salad but it was okay. To quote my father, the main thing is that the nutritional value is right. The cellarer was completely overwhelmed with the order. But we were also a large group.

We had an awful experience at Lyly. We had diner on the terrasse and my guest bag (with phone and passport) was stolen by a pickpocket. We immediately asked for the waiter assistance but he basically yelled at me saying it was not his problem and he was too busy. Her colleague was more polite and said they would call the police for us and check on their security camera. The waiter yelled at her too for this and on several other occasions, it really looked like he had a mental disorder... They kept us waiting for 45mn until we found out that they never actually called... We left to go to the closest police station without any word or any support of any kind, just anger words in German from the guy... Cherry on the top, when I paid (230€ for 6 for average Turkish food) I realized they over charged me 12€ for extra service (!!). They tried to take advantage of the situation as we were anxious to find a solution for our friend. I had to argue to get a refund... I travel a lot, I think I rarely saw such bad hosting and rudeness in a restaurant. I would definitely not recommend the place.

A very nice restaurant 2 minutes from the river and the Cathedral. The food is perfect whatever you choose, my recommendation is the steak in mushroom sauce with potatoes and green salad. The staff is very friendly and you won't have to wait long for your meal. Any recommendation for this restaurant which is the only one with cushions on the chairs and you will be comfortable!

Contrary to what was previously mentioned, good food for a competitive price. We tried 2 schnitzels, the Wiener and the one with mushroom sauce. Both were delicious with plenty of fries and vegetables. In our opinion, highly recommended

For an evening with musical accompaniment it's actually quite ok, but unfortunately the food is not recommended - we're just talking about very simple dishes here... By the way, the starters have absolutely nothing to do with the originals from Turkey, some of them were unfortunately inedible...

The drink prices have taken off

We enjoyed a Turkish evening and can only report positively about the live music. The facilities are actually nice, but unfortunately very neglected/unkempt. The lady (probably the boss) didn't care. The food (meatballs) was very hard, the rice was also too grainy and hard, must have been left in the pot for a long time. Dede salad just as boring. Everything was simply slapped onto the plate very carelessly, for a lot of money. If you do it again, then it's better to eat somewhere else first!

It was an unforgettable evening and I can highly recommend this restaurant. My own experience at the Lyly restaurant was very positive. The atmosphere created by the live music and the friendly staff made my visit a real highlight. A visit to the Lyly restaurant is definitely worth it and exceeds all expectations and leaves nothing to be desired!

The night we spent at Club Lyly was truly amazing. The food was great, and the restaurant's management and service were extremely customer-oriented. The quality of live music was outstanding. I would especially like to express my special thanks to Aykut Sahin. He gave a terrific performance and was definitely a center of attraction for many restaurant guests. I definitely recommend both the restaurant, the music and especially the artist Aykut Sahin.

We left the place immediately due to Mr. Aykut's rude behavior that offended people. Disappointment for business. I do not recommend.

We went with great enthusiasm and left with even greater disappointment, and the behavior of Mr. Aykut that caused this was extremely surprising. As a group that went to live music, naturally we were there to have fun. It is very wrong for him to blame his inability to adapt and concentrate on the stage to us, the audience. It was interesting that he was talking bad at our table where we were chatting with our friends, asking us to request songs, but not singing the songs, or even reading only a few bunches of all the songs, drinking raki and forgetting to perform on stage. The orchestra was very disturbing. I definitely do not recommend it.
