Yes, as everyone knows, Bona Me is very expensive, but really, it's extremely expensive. However, the service was top-notch, very friendly, and we celebrated our birthday there; they lit candles and played a song for us. It's just that it's incredibly expensive.

We were a large group, sat outside, had difficulties ordering and then had to pick up the food ourselves, so fewer stars for the service

Unfortunately, this restaurant has lost a significant number of stars in my rating. What's advertised as crispy on the menu isn't crispy at all. The food was also served cold. And it's extremely noisy.

What more could I want?! The food is exciting and packed with freshness and superfoods. The pide is simply amazing and deserves first place for me – even ahead of the pizza. At the self-order terminals, all the food and drinks on offer are explained visually with pictures and text, along with additional info buttons. Using the chip card, which you receive at the entrance, all guests can move around the restaurant at their leisure and order their desired food and drinks independently at the terminals. The staff in the restaurant and in the open kitchen are incredibly friendly, and it's easy to strike up a conversation. Moving freely around the restaurant also encourages conversations with other guests, and suddenly "bona'me" = my home becomes a reality. Sometimes the service could be a little more attentive, but you'll manage that too! All in all: great food at a very fair price in an authentic atmosphere with wonderful people on the team and as guests. Keep it up!! 🍀🍀🍀

Easily accessible in the Zollhafen area, the tram stop is about a 2-minute walk away. The decor is very modern, yet very cozy. The menu is available online, but a little difficult to navigate on a mobile phone. Orders are also placed online at the restaurant, which works perfectly. You have to pick up your food (and in our case, drinks) yourself. The selection is extensive, and the food is absolutely delicious. We'd gladly come again.

Ordered via Uber. Half is missing, the other half is broken… Bonsme couldn't find the order for 10 minutes. And they couldn't help us at all!!!! Complete amateurs.

Update 10/25/2025: I was in Cologne for a weekend once again and was back here again. We got a seat without any problems. You can read the details on site in my first post – absolutely nothing has changed, and the food was once again excellent. You can see what we ate in the pictures, and this time it also says what we ate 🤭. I can highly recommend bona'me at Rheinauhafen, especially if you're vegetarian, and some dishes can also be prepared vegan. Simply fantastic. 08/2024: I was visiting Cologne over the weekend and went here for dinner with friends for the first time. The heat and the beautiful, large, modern outdoor area appealed to me. A seat was available within 3 minutes. Depending on where you sit, you have a small view of the Rhine, and despite the heat, there was still a pleasant breeze in the evening. I was initially surprised that it was a self-service restaurant, but when you ordered drinks inside, which you could see immediately, you were also given a pager. You ordered via smartphone (a QR code was displayed on the table), and as soon as, for example, the food was ready for pickup, the pager would alert you. The food was truly outstanding, and as a committed meat eater, I enjoyed the vegetarian option (bulgur with vegetables, tomato sauce, herb curd, and fried chickpea flatbreads -> it was truly outstanding and flavorful). I didn't miss the meat here at all. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to EVERYONE, especially vegetarians, but also vegans, as they also offer vegan dishes. Definitely an excellent place; I will be back in Cologne soon and will go to this restaurant again.

The bona'me in Cologne Deutz was a lovely location. The ordering process took a little getting used to, but it was okay. The food was delicious, and the service wasn't much to deal with, other than bringing drinks to the table.

One of my absolute favorite restaurants 💕👍🏼😊 The food is really delicious and plentiful. I think the variety is really well-executed and beautifully presented, and I like the casual atmosphere.

My initial skepticism was offset by the delicious food. The mixed starters were excellent, as were our main courses. Only the very loud background noise, in my opinion, somewhat spoiled the evening. But I definitely recommend the food 👍

A great experience – you can taste that everything is freshly cooked.

Despite reservations, there were no more menus available. Cutlery trays were partially empty. If you have to do everything yourself, cutlery would be the least you could ask for. There was hardly any staff outside.

Very good dishes, the portions are great, the food is delicious, and I love the wide variety, especially the vegetarian and vegan options! I highly recommend it!

We arrived as a group at 9:45 p.m., according to the opening hours it was open until 11 p.m. and were simply sent away.

The place used to be much better in the previous years. Food and service got worse, a downgrade from my previous 5 starts... Unfortunately.

The typical ordering process. Everything's done digitally on a tablet. You wait with a pager and pick up the food. A bit complicated for older people who aren't so up-to-date with technology. But they help you. So, all in all, it's good and tasty.

We spent the final part of our team event here together. The food was very good. The service was always attentive, but somewhat confused. If you're visiting the restaurant for the first time—like us—the self-service menu isn't particularly easy to understand. It's best to ask for help right away!

I went to Bona'me with a friend. The restaurant is beautifully located, and we still had no problem finding a seat. The food was really delicious and the prices were reasonable. I have to deduct two stars because of the lack of service, the self-service, and the resulting fast-food restaurant feel. With drinks, you have to be careful what you get. I ordered a 0.5-liter apple spritzer and only received a 0.3-liter. After I complained, the order was changed. Furthermore, the number of restrooms is too small for the size of the restaurant. As a woman, you're at a disadvantage here and have to wait in line for a long time.

Well-intentioned 1 star. Honestly, how can something be so badly organized? At the beginning you are given a menu which you are supposed to use to order. Then you go to a screen to order and to register this menu and a pager. We queued for 15 minutes for a few clicks which could have been done quickly online if it were possible. Even I, who already knew what I wanted, spent ages searching because the screen is laid out differently to the menus. Incidentally, it is nowhere to be seen that there is no service here at all; it varies from branch to branch. Then you look for a seat and with luck there is something free. You wait for the pager to respond so you can collect the items. Everything one at a time. Depending on when something is ready. So the drinks took longer than the food. Tasted OK - but nothing special, priced rather average. Afterwards you don't want to queue again for more drinks and you quickly feel unwanted. (Line up again and wait 20 minutes for a Coke? Hardly.) To pay, you go back to the reception desk; you could have left at any time without paying. It wouldn't have been noticed anywhere. There, too, you line up again and wait a few minutes. When asked why you couldn't order and possibly pay online, there was no answer. A polite reminder that the vinegar/oil was too vinegary was also skillfully ignored. For me, once and never again. Self-service is one thing and perfectly fine, but not when the service is bad.

We were there for dinner. I ordered the truffle manti, and it was just swimming in a watery sauce. The pasta in tomato sauce with the extra ready-made kofte was inedible. The ambiance and location are good, the ordering system isn't my thing, but it seems to be a hit.

Delicious oriental food in a cozy atmosphere. Orders are conveniently placed at the restaurant's kiosk. The food is prepared quickly, making bona'me a great place for a lunch break. Even though ordering is done at a kiosk, you'll experience oriental hospitality from the service team.

The food is typical of the region and good, although it sometimes takes a little longer for the dishes to be ready. However, ordering via displays is annoying. Some dishes are hard to find on the confusing display if you don't know the Turkish group names. At least a search function would be helpful here, as long searches slow down the entire ordering process. The outdoor terrace is a huge plus!

The ordering process didn't work for me at all. First I ordered a cocktail. The ringer rang and when I wanted to pick up the drink I was told that they only have non-alcoholic cocktails. My question why I was able to order an alcoholic cocktail in the first place remained unanswered... I then ordered some food (several starters). The ringer never went off. When we left I had to explain everything to the cashier, who checked with the kitchen. At least I got an apology...

You order a drink and the employee notices that it's missing an ingredient. That's understandable, but then, as a customer, you have to walk across the entire restaurant to cancel your drink order. Apparently, the owner trusts his employees so little that they're not allowed to cancel it themselves. At the same time, the customer is expected to entrust their health to these apparently untrustworthy people, since they're serving drinks and food. How can I trust employees who aren't even trusted by their employer?

It was cozy, but we didn't like the homemade ice teas. We were disappointed, as we were expecting sweet drinks. Instead, the taste was similar to bread kvass or apple cider vinegar. The service was nice and gave us syrup to sweeten it, but it definitely wasn't ice tea for that price :( Still, the atmosphere was nice.

I expected a nicer atmosphere, but the food was great

Unfortunately, the brunch is too expensive for what's on offer. There's basically no service. You get everything yourself and order via touchscreen. The ambiance is good both inside and outside.

I met a friend there for dinner. The food itself was good. Service is lacking. You choose your food on a monitor, put it on a chip card, and then see a screen that tells you when you can pick it up from the counter. Unfortunately, my friend didn't get his food, and they offered him drinks that weren't even available. However, everything was charged to his chip card, so he ended up with a bill of over €30 at the checkout. We had to wait for quite some time at the checkout until the matter was resolved. Any chip shop does a better job. It's a shame.

The location directly on the Rhine is beautiful. There's a boat for the little ones to play on outside. The concept is self-service at the computer. The food is then prepared within sight of the guest and can be picked up by the guest after the whistle blows. Payment is made at checkout. The price/performance ratio is right, and my meal was delicious.

I ordered iced tea to go, as if I'd ordered hot coffee. The store also needs renovations. The store looks like a gas station. If you lose your card, you have to pay €50, which is pretty cheeky. They shouldn't have a system like that at all.

I love Bona Me, I ordered takeout. All the staff were so friendly. And the food is so good!

Meals must be ordered via a vending machine. A buzzer sounds to indicate which dishes are ready for pickup. Everything is freshly prepared. A large selection, with and without meat. Very tasty!

Unfortunately, I can't agree with the positive reviews. The meat was very dry and poorly seasoned in our opinion. The bulgur salad, in our opinion, was too oily and lacked flavor. The lettuce had a lot of brown spots, in our opinion. The pide with mushrooms smelled and tasted really weird, so we couldn't eat it at all. The shrimp tasted like old cooking fat. All in all, a bitter and very expensive disappointment in our opinion.

If you know how the machines work, everything is easy

The location is a great place to chat with friends. The food, however, was very greasy, oversalted, and not seasoned properly. Some of the ingredients listed on the menu were missing. If you're vegan, you should avoid the restaurant. The drinks took 40 minutes to arrive, but they were delicious.

We went there for dinner with our company about four weeks ago. The food was excellent, and despite our group of 15, everyone received their food at the same time – kudos to the kitchen and the service! While the billing process was a bit more complicated than necessary, it worked out in the end. Next time, things will definitely go more smoothly 😊. We'd definitely be happy to come back!

This is the first time I've felt as comfortable in a restaurant as I did at my parents' house. The food is freshly prepared with top-quality ingredients. The food was delicious and arrived quickly, but the self-service concept could be improved: we had to run back and forth several times because something went wrong with the order card. The vibration of the batteries is very annoying and puts you on alert (plus the vibration of neighboring tables). The ambiance outside is quite nice, but the chairs are very uncomfortable, and even the cushions don't help. There are wooden benches as an alternative, but they don't have a backrest, unfortunately not suitable for people with back problems or children. If you can pick up food here, I would consider getting it; I won't be coming here to eat in again. I don't know why you should pay a tip; here you really do everything yourself except for the cooking, which is fine if you know how to do it.

The atmosphere right on the Rhine is relaxed, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The prices are also absolutely fair. The value for money is excellent across the board. Highly recommended.

The food is super delicious. The menu on the store's portals is nonsense. Unfortunately, I don't speak Turkish and don't know what to do with the names if there are no explanations in German or English. I find it stupid that I have to ask the chef what this or that means before I can make my selection. Why can't ordering be easier? Why isn't it possible to register online anymore? Secondly: Four meals were ordered on one menu. The time between the first and fourth meal being ready = 23 minutes. Absolutely unacceptable! I go out to eat with friends to eat with friends, not to watch others eat. I also find it stupid that everyone leaves the tables and leaves a bit of a mess behind without cleaning up themselves. The wait staff try their best, but it's not manageable.

Unfortunately, the food was consistently cold, hence only two stars. If it had been hot, it would certainly have been very enjoyable. Although it was freshly prepared, the pide was the only thing that was still hot. The prices are perfectly reasonable, though, as are the portions.

A friend and I ordered two drinks that absolutely did not taste good. The drinks were undrinkable. We reported it to the staff and were told that my drink was supposed to taste like it. They diluted my friend's with water. When we paid, we were asked if we were satisfied. We said no, and the payment was simply silent.

The food was delicious, and we barely had to wait. The atmosphere is pleasant, and you can sit there in peace. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable visit—I'd be happy to come back.

The ordering system was new to me; you order food and drinks at a terminal and a device vibrates when the order is ready. You then pick up the food and drinks yourself. The dishes themselves are very tasty and the selection is large. A small introduction for new customers by the staff would be good.

Mice in the kitchen, staff do nothing, the “problem is known - they are not eating”. Unfortunately, this is not entirely correct. Negligent and absolutely not okay in my opinion.

A place where you can have a nice time by the river

The location is fine as is the staff, but for the money I would rather eat in Mülheim. Authentic Turkish cuisine is still better in Mülheim... this is food adapted to the German palate, which in no way represents what Turkish cuisine stands for.

A restaurant is all about the quality of the food. And unfortunately this is not true here at all. Bulgur with meat skewer: Bulgur watery, meat absolutely inedible because cheap, full of fibers and the food overall is much too cold, pasta with kofta: pasta soft and watery, kofta pre-cooked or pre-fried, so not freshly prepared. Beyti with poultry: Vegetables (zuchini) not fried enough and therefore too hard, Beyti overall with little taste. Everything that isn't casserole or pide and pizza has been pre-cooked and prepared and tastes like cheap fare, all at a basic takeaway level. Service not rated because you have to pick up the food yourself, which is part of the concept.

Unfortunately, the employees at the counters are very unfriendly and reluctant to help. It's not that difficult to show where glasses etc. are and help. The food was good, although portions are sometimes saved here. But the quality was good as always.

Delicious food, friendly people, fair prices. At Boname you usually get fresh and very tasty food. The meze tomato with bread is simple but very tasty, you can get as much bread as you want. The Beyti vegetarian is a large portion, for which you should also be hungry. I can recommend the dish without reservations. As usual with Boname, the business space is simple but very inviting, with a great lighting concept and the kitchen can be seen. The Boname concept is also very pleasant and uncomplicated. The staff is mostly friendly and accommodating, with small exceptions. The prices are very fair. As I said, the portions are large. You can pay by card.

Since there were 5 of us, we ordered 5 different dishes to share and try a variety of dishes, all excellent and we spent an average of €12 per person. When you enter they give you a card, on it you load what you want with a machine (it has photos and details). They deliver very fast. The very nice place. Keep in mind that to go to the toilet you have to go down a spiral staircase.

The food was ok, the bread wasn't as freshly baked as you normally would find it. The stairs to the toilets are really dirty and the floor too. It's a shame for such a beautiful location right on the Rhine.

The food is too expensive for the portion size. But I was even more annoyed when paying with the card. You are almost forced to give a tip of 7.15 or 21%. For a self-service concept, I find that really outrageous. This borders on fraud.

We went here for dinner with friends. I was very surprised by the self-service concept. Every drink and every meal must be booked on the screen and picked up yourself. The comfort is lost. The staff took care of my concerns politely and quickly, for example we received the starter with the three dips. The dips were rich, but they were served with three mini strips of bread. The waitress was kind enough to provide us with enough bread upon request. Overall, I would have expected more in terms of taste. The food was not very seasoned. I know it differently.

Not a single vegan breakfast. The selection of food is just as disappointing, for example over 16 pide variants, but not a single one is vegan. It's a shame if you otherwise label yourself as vegan-open. Update: Dear Bona'me team, thank you very much for your answer. And thank you for understanding and discussing the issue. If you have more vegan choices, we would be happy to come back to you!

Great concept, great service and fantastic food!

I asked for a table to be reserved by phone as normal and spoke calmly. Suddenly the lady on the phone said: “You don’t have to shout at me” – completely unfounded and rude. This kind of behavior does not belong in the catering industry. After that I didn't feel like eating there anymore. With the exception of this one lady, my impression of the rest of the service and the employees has always been positive - which made this experience all the more disappointing.

If 0 stars were possible, I would give them! The food was acceptable, but the service was a disaster - rude, disrespectful and completely unprofessional. When I voiced my complaint, I was brushed off with “You don’t need to argue with me.” Such behavior towards guests is unacceptable. Never again!

When guests wanted to pay, the young man was there quickly. Hospitality doesn't work! Now for the system: You choose something, order it at the terminal, and receive a pager. Unfortunately, this was far from a comfortable meal: the starter was ready before the drinks, and as soon as we sat down at the table, the phone vibrated again. We were constantly interrupted – and since we, like many others, ordered with two cards, it was a constant rush in an already crowded place. The food was definitely good – but for the prices, I would have expected a bit more. Especially a welcoming gesture when you enter a restaurant as a customer. What a shame!

Simply great food, relaxed atmosphere and very nice staff, that's all you need. I have visited the bona'me at Rheinauhafen several times, and each visit was simply great. The food tastes delicious, fresh and has just the right amount of spice. Whatever you order, you can't really go wrong. The drinks also go perfectly with the food. Added to this is the atmosphere: it looks modern, cozy; a place where you like to stay longer. The staff is relaxed, friendly and always in a good mood. Honestly, if you haven't tried it yet, you should do it as soon as possible. I'll definitely be back!

We were here at lunchtime during the week, so it was relatively empty, and the service/kitchen was very fast. The beyti and pitas were very tasty. I'd had the same dish (beyti with chicken) at the Münster location before. Here in Cologne, the ingredients were much fresher, the vegetables crispier, and the meat better cooked. The ordering system has been updated and now bears a strong resemblance to McDonald's and the like, with ordering kiosks that somewhat detract from the restaurant experience. However, in my opinion, it's now simpler and more customer-friendly than before.

Sat outside in lovely weather. It's okay there, right on the street. It doesn't seem very comfortable inside. Food was perfect (had Meze 3). The ordering system takes some getting used to if you are a first-time customer and have it explained to you. It's not mature either. For us, the drinks were ready 10 minutes after eating. Service at the counters was uncharacteristically rude for Cologne. Toilets i. O. You can go there, but there is a lack of atmosphere.
