Lucullus Nero in Frankfurt am Main

Lara at Frankfurt was absolutely welcoming and phenomenal, she has made our experience at this airport 12/10. Highly recommend asking for her!

A wonderful place to have dinner or lunch! We were stranded for 2 days at Frankfurt and had both our dinners here!! Ferro helped us both days in giving food suggestions and being nice!! After all the airport drama it was a refreshing change!

With a long transit in Frankfurt airport, had a lovely dinner here to kill the time, Ferro made our time even better with his hospitality. Always a pleasure transiting through Frankfurt airport and stopping by Lucullus for a bite and drink.

Been there twice once in Dec 2022 and then on Jan 2nd 2025. Likely the best place to eat and stay for a bit if you don’t have access to the Lufthansa lounges in Terminal Z. Convenient for US outbound flights. Food is great. We ordered Pizza and dessert. Addressing other reviews talking about overpriced food, the food is not terribly overpriced, however the water is at 9EUR. Just don’t order the water. Staff is friendly considering this is an airport restaurant and there are no repeat customers. Be nice to them and you will be treated well. They are very busy and overrun with orders. They don’t bother you to leave or treat you bad if you order smaller portions. Robot regaled us and other customers as well. Capture a video as it arrives with your food and smiles at you !!

Great place to eat well, recharge phone, and generally spend time... Better than paying for a lounge:) Ferro and the team provide good service.

We had an 8 hour layover at the airport and after visiting various restaurants we are satisfied with the Lucullus. The service was polite and nice. We ordered a tuna pizza 🍕 and bruschetta as well as two cokes. The food came after 15 minutes. Both were delicious 😋, pizza with a crispy base and well topped, Bruschetta Classic well topped and tasty. It's a good place to stay and eat. Thanks

The food and atmosphere aren't bad, but the service is really bad. I saw a review late after ordering that a tip was required, but when I looked at the menu, it said that you had to volunteer, so I just ate in peace. I hadn't finished eating yet, but he passed by and handed me the bill and said something. Then he came back again and urged me to pay because he had to go quickly. This is the first time something like this has happened and I am speechless;;; Anyway, while I was doing that, I saw a woman paying with a credit card, and she added a 10% tip as she wanted. The server did that on her own without any consent, so the woman got angry and said something, but she continued to ignore me and said she didn't know. It was already like that. I witnessed this and was upset because of the attitude of handing over the bill before the meal was over. I paid the exact change, but they said something about it not being this amount (and asking for a tip). This is what it says on the menu. When I asked him if he didn't, he made a threat that didn't even seem like a threat, saying that I would remember you. Haha; Don't worry, I'll remember it and never go again. He kept his bad attitude and put the coins back on the table. Who do you think is a beggar like you? Anyway, please read the reviews as carefully as possible before visiting. They say that if you write something in a review, you can do it voluntarily, but in reality, you don't..

Mr Harris is a true gentleman. His serrvice is impeccable. This restaurant lives up to its motto "authentic Italian dining".

Food and drinks were exceptional, so fresh and fast prepared. Service is excellent, especially Haris, who was so nice and responsive. All recommendations!

Food was good. Airport prices. Food came quick. Staff was friendly.

The taste and quantity are okay. Service is a mess. There weren't many people, but when I raised my hand to order, it took a while for it to arrive. As soon as the meal came out, the person who served me brought out the terminal to quickly ask for a tip because he had to go. 10% checked on the terminal. While I was eating, he asked for money and said he would pay later. A lady at the table next to me paid with a credit card, but she added a tip without permission, so I was embarrassed. My wife was upset because she asked me to give her a quick tip 3 times while I was eating. I paid with cash and change, but they told me to pay for the service separately. I was taken aback when I saw that the service was included on the paper menu. And since tips are separate, I was confused when I showed them that tip was optional on the menu. I kept complaining, “I’ll remember you guys, I’ll never let you come here again,” and cleaned it up, making the kids stop eating, and left.

It was such a treat to sit at the airport, during an 11 hour layover, and have a delicious meal (with real crockery, cutlery, and glasses!). My meal was stunning and Haris was an attentive and lovely server. Definitely recommend!

I had a great cheeseburger with rosemary potatoes. Service was friendly and efficient.

The food is ok, but nothing more. But the service doesn't deserve a star. You have to keep in mind that the people who eat here are almost exclusively people who are waiting for their flight and therefore don't have endless time. But the service ladies don't seem to care. First they forgot what we ordered which made it take longer. When I asked to pay, I was kept waiting unnecessarily long. And when I expressed my dissatisfaction with the service while paying, the lady suddenly switched to English, apparently to avoid a discussion. Before that, she had no problems speaking German.

Steven took care great of us while we waited for our flight. The service was excellent and the food was good too. A huge thank you to Steven!

Pizza in Germany, don’t expect too much here. Thin crust style, not much flavor to the dough or even the ingredients. The weirdest thing happened was when this bus boy picture added, snatch some napkins from me for no reason. That felt very bullyiish and sexiest. My waitress saw it and handed me a napkin afterwards. He gave me some bar napkins. I needed the thicker napkins because I spilled some water in the floor. Telling him he didn’t care. Watch out for him if he’s lurking nearby, he is the napkin gatekeeper.

Haris did a great job and the pizza was awesome.

Food meh. Mixed salad pretty poor and too much balasimic dressing. Tomatoes looked like yesterday’s. Pizza was oily and bland, the ham too thickly cut yet tasteless, and there was some sort of pesto on the pizza which detracted from it completely. Service was ok when it was human - but they have a dinky robot that brings you food. Sounds good in theory, but it stops 1.5 meters behind you to one side, and then speaks quietly and it’s easy not to notice it or realise what it is there for. Then you look at the screen and it says a table number, but the tables have no numbers, so it’s still not clear it’s for you. Eventually you get up and look at what it is carrying (the tray is at the back and you can’t see it unless you walk around it). If it looks right, you hesitantly take it, hoping you’re doing the right thing and not taking someone else’s food or uneaten reject. If you ignore it, staff come, pick up the plate, and look equally confused while they try to figure out what it is and who in the vicinity ordered it. Apparently they don’t know the table numbers either. Prices don’t make up for it - 40 eur for a pizza, small salad and water! Expensive event for an airport. Large portion sizes, but that’s hardly a plus given that I didn’t finish and felt worse after than I did before. Then they asked for a tip… No redeeming features. Avoid.

I wasn't able to experience the quality of the food because after almost an hour of waiting for someone willing to take the order, I gave up and went to a nearby bakery - which I highly recommend, by the way. I haven't seen a staff so focused on their job for a long time. The situation of the place was somewhat saved by robots delivering orders - if it weren't for them, orders would probably have to be placed 3 days in advance

We didn't get served after waiting for 30-40min. Yes, the restaurant was full, but the waitresses worked as in the slow motion, the robot bringing food moved 10x faster than the staff. It's unacceptable on the airport when people are often in a hurry to catch the plane and with such prices...

The service deserves zero stars. It's a shame that you can't forgive them. Let's go!

Really bad service. First you have to wait to get a table, if you are lucky to get a table, you again wait to get someone to serve on table. If you get one to come, they will hand over the menu and disappear - even if you already know what you want and request them to take the order immediately, they will just decline it. I was told "this restaurant does not have a quick service". Food is okay. "Atmosphere" is noisy.

The pizza is delicious, it’s the only hot food restaurant here while waiting for your flight🫶🏻 Also, it should be good to see a lot of people ordering burgers.

It was a wonderful morning break for us . We found this nice restaurant in the busy Frankfurt Airport and had a great coffee and breakfast there . The waitress who served us ,Wai Tha ,was so nice and pleasant , patiently letting us know what the restaurant had to offer. A little robot bringing our breakfast was such a cute addition :) . We enjoyed our experience & we’ll definitely come back there when we travel thru Frankfurt again.

The menu says tip is included. But lady writes on the recipe that suggested is 10% and that it’s not included. Watch out :) Good place for Italian food at Z gates. Smells very very good and service is quite quick but cheating.

Inattentive wait staff just on their phones. If you value your time go somewhere else. The food was okay but not great.

The food was exceptional! I got the Pizza Diavola and it was the perfect amount of spicy and flavorful. Our server, Wai Thu, was polite, professional, and made sure everything was perfect! There was a neat robot to bring out the food too

Because I was in a hurry, I ordered while I was getting sit but the service person asked me to order when her colleague come in a min. I waited 20min, and my flight time was soon so I went out to get sandwich. Than she came back and it’s not possible that I just go without paying and she said I should pay and she might call police and so on. So I came back to table and had food, and the menu plate were still on my table :) if she took my order, there must be no menu plate anymore on the table. Well, at least I’m a “paid” but criminal person

Wait to be seated. You will wait. For ages. The staff must be terribly badly paid because they don’t really care. Eventually we got seated and waited another 10mins before we could order. The kitchen was pretty slow too and the food when it arrived was just tasteless. We ordered simple stuff like basic pasta dishes and they were all tasteless. All dishes were 15-20 euro apiece. Frankly I don’t know this place survives. Airport restaurants are always expensive of course but at least they are quick. They have to be quick. This place is geologically slow and the food is awful. Hopefully someone will read this review while they are waiting to seated and save themselves the time and expense.

The restaurant's ambiance was cozy and inviting, but what really stood out was the exceptional service provided by Wai Thu. Wai was knowledgeable about the menu especially the Rumpsteak that I wanted to try, her prompt service and warm demeanor made me choose to dine here and the experience was truly delightful. Highly recommended!

The burger was delicious, offering —exactly what you need during a busy travel day. A special shout-out goes to Harris, who truly elevated the experience. His calm and professional demeanor made the meal even more enjoyable. Harris was attentive, kind, and made sure everything was perfect without being overbearing. If you're passing through Frankfurt airport, Lucullus is definitely worth a visit, and if you’re lucky enough to have Harris as your server, you’re in for a treat!

The food is awful, at least the breakfast with the same name as the restaurant. The robot is cute and all, but it's hard to get distracted from the fact that you're being robbed. A lot of plates get returned nearly full.

After weeks of travel & headed home, i craved a good burger. Their burger was excellent on any standard and far above any I've had in an airport. Steven, my server, was attentive and welcoming. The kitten robot he works with ensures your food comes out fast and right off the grill.

I had a voucher from Lufthansa. This was not accepted. The waiter was rude. The dishes are ok, but don't expect authentic Italian cuisine. I suspect there are better restaurants at Frankfurt airport.

Staff very mindful and create good atmosphere. I am an SSP multiunit shiftmanager from Finland, I give the staff and the whole experience and the food 5/5.

Food is slightly above average. Prices are high, as expected at an airport restaurant. The overall experience is ruined by a waiter who did not speak English very well and quickly forgot what you just asked for. I ordered a starter and a main. I was barely gain way though the starter, when the main arrived. I tried to explain to the waiter that I want to finish the starter before having the main. Took me 3 minutes to make her understand. I also ordered dessert and espresso. Guess what. The dessert came well before the espresso. Would I recommend? Maybe. Not sure.

This is a restaurant where the employees are racist. After eating with my companion, I paid with cash, and the employee told me to wait for about 5 minutes so she could give me change. I thought they were telling me to wait because they didn't have any cash, but they cleaned other's table and welcomed other customers as usual. They were never busy. I realized it was unfair treatment and asked for the change again. The employee asked me to wait again, so I protested that I had already waited over 5 minutes, and the employee immediately gave me the change. They apparently deliberately delayed my payment for no reason. This is clearly racism and employees should feel ashamed of their actions. Especially in Germany, we need to be more careful about this behavior. This is a store where the employees are racist. After eating with my companions, I paid with cash and the clerk told me to wait about five minutes so he could give me change. I thought they were telling me to wait because they didn't have any cash, but as usual they cleared the table and greeted other customers. They were never busy. I knew this was unfair treatment and again asked for change. The employee asked me to wait again and I protested that I had already waited over 5 minutes and the employee immediately gave me change. We had a wonderful experience at Lucullus Nero while waiting for our flight. Our waitress, Tisch, was absolutely fantastic and friendly throughout. She took great care of us, ensuring we had everything we needed. Her warm and attentive service truly made our visit enjoyable. If you're ever at Frankfurt Airport, I highly recommend stopping by Lucullus Nero – especially if you're lucky enough to have Tisch as your server! We waited about 30 minutes to order. The drinks then came quickly. When we asked after 50 minutes when our food would come, we were told that it was coming now. But it didn't come. All the other people who entered the restaurant at the same time as us had eaten and paid. When we asked further questions, we were cheekily lied to, saying that all orders had been canceled and that it was therefore taking longer and that the waitress was alone, where I saw her colleague serving at another table. Absolutely incompetent and rude. Unfortunately I can't recommend it as a stopover.

This restaurant doesn't know they're in an airport. It is the slowest restaurant here. It very overpriced too. You should try another spot.

We didn't have any expectations for this place, just wanted a quick pizza and craft beer before our flight. I was very surprised by the delicious pizza we got! Expensive as any other airport restaurant, but nothing else negative. Funny to be served by a robot!

After 20 minutes we still couldn't place an order. Have and then sat in the bistro. We picked something good looking (Black Forest). €9 for flour poisoning is simply too expensive. The thing was so dry. There was no ketchup either, that could have at least moistened the thing a little.

I stopped here while at the Frankfurt airport. The environment was comfortable and it was nice to sit down in a proper restaurant. The service was slow, but that is because the server had so many tables. She was super busy. They needed more staff for the number of customers. Menus were available in German or English. The server spoke pretty good English and seemed very used to working with all kinds of guests. The food was good, though a little expensive, it seemed to me. This is a good place if you are looking for a sit-down meal at the airport.

Surprisingly great Diavalo pizza and spaghetti carbonara! Also, they have a fabulous wine collection with some real gems if you ask the manager.

on a 5 hour holdover @ Frankfurt Airport (so bleak, one of my least favourite transit airports) en route back to Sydney from hiking across the Balkans I was fortunate to find Lucullus Nero & experience the excellent service provided by Haris - he is a credit to your restaurant, so friendly & obliging. However I feel the ambiance of the restaurant is being adversely impacted by the food delivery robots - personal service is what matters! no robots please!

People are EXTREMLE unfriendly and rude and pretend they dont speak german

Nice and relaxed service (was served by Haris 🙂‍↕️), the food was tasty and I also found the atmosphere very pleasant; the facilities are very nice! Since there wasn't that much going on, I was able to sit and relax and recover from the airport stress :)

Very good service with both Steve and a robot taking care of us. A relaxing environment in a busy airport gave us a nice break from long travel.

Ich war irrt die Geldschein, und er hat 20 Euro mehr genommen .... I think the person serving me was the owner. I got confused about the bill for a moment and paid it by mistake. He swallowed it like nothing happened... Something's not working out, huh? I was doing it Rather, it's like asking what's the problem.. When I calculated it later, I found out that he took 20 euros more.

We ordered a margherita with vegan cheese and got one with mozzarella. When we pointed this out to the waiter, he said we'd get a new one, but seemed like he thought it was our fault (not his). The Margherita with vegan cheese arrived after what felt like an eternity, but new cutlery was only available upon request. At least we didn't have to argue about the bill; we were charged straight away for just one Margherita. In general, we had the feeling that the employees had to do far too much at once and therefore - understandably - seemed to be very overwhelmed with the overall situation in the restaurant, and we asked ourselves how a restaurant could do so in such a "foolish" way can be operated at all. Not a recommendation from us.

We spent the waiting time here after our missed connecting flight. The food was very tasty and Haris served us really personably and attentively.
