Discovering this small terrace in the narrow streets of Hvar was an unexpected success. Between stone walls that whisper stories of yesteryear, the atmosphere became serene and evocative, like a refuge from times gone by. Rosa's impeccable and knowledgeable service elevated the experience to another level; it wasn't just about serving, but about knowing every detail that makes the difference. The dishes, a tribute to the Mediterranean, not only delighted the palate, but also challenged it. Each bite was full of freshness, balance, and perfection in every texture and flavor. It wasn't just a dinner, but a memory that will remain etched in your memory. A place where gastronomy not only satisfies, but also moves.

A disaster at a birthday dinner for four. The food cost €400, a total fiasco. Never again. The service was arrogant and irritated. The starters were okay. The main course was served frozen, the fish was inedible, and the "fresh" salad was clearly at least a day old. Other dishes weren't even brought to the table. We had to clear the plates ourselves. The birthday evening was ruined. We left the restaurant hungry.

Very friendly staff. Good food. Despite the high temperatures, it was warmer on the terrace than under the sun itself. Nevertheless, everything was very nice there.

Great Italian flair with a few unique specialties. The food was excellent, the wine outstanding, and the service exudes authentic Italian character. The restaurant is very busy, and the dishes are very freshly prepared. So, you need to allow some time for the excellent Italian cuisine, especially when it's busy. We had calculated less time than was ultimately necessary to enjoy all the courses. Our young guests couldn't wait any longer for their pasta main courses. When we decided to leave early and pay for everything except the missing dishes, the charming chef spontaneously decided to let us have the entire evening without paying. We were both unhappy about not being able to enjoy or demonstrate the full range of the cuisine. I hope this review makes up for the lost revenue. Ciao bene

Reserved, when we arrive the reservation is canceled digitally. Very unfortunate because we were traveling with guests on a Saturday evening, so there was a reduced alternative offer in the meantime. No guest orientation in the event of a problem (you could have called, for example, the number was available). We had a very nice evening at Lucullus and were warmly welcomed at the entrance. A candlelit path led to our table. Francesco immediately introduced himself as our waiter and was very friendly throughout and had good recommendations. The food was excellent, the eye is also known to be very good, the food looked very tasty. Francesco also made sure that we received our food at the same time, which is no longer a given today. Yes, you pay more, but in return you get very friendly and good service and excellent food. We'd love to come back.

We have just had the pleasure of visiting Lucullus for the first time and it was undoubtedly a special experience. Since we built our house three years ago, we have regularly explored the gastronomic diversity of the area, but rarely has a restaurant impressed us so completely. When you enter, the Lucullus impresses with its stylish ambience, a perfect balance between elegance and a feel-good atmosphere. A tasteful interior with excellent cuisine and outstanding service - especially from Francesco! The dishes were prepared to perfection and of very good quality. As a starter we chose the “Il Tataki” – with excellent taste. The carbonara was convincing with its authentic preparation, as was the risotto with octopus in its aromatic depth. An all around perfect evening! As soon as we entered the restaurant we were warmly welcomed. The service was first class throughout. Francesco, his colleague and Daniel impressed with their friendliness, professionalism and attentiveness. What was particularly nice was the gesture that our dog was immediately given a water bowl and greeted in a very charming way. As a dog owner, you are particularly happy about this, because that is not something that can be taken for granted. The food was excellent, prepared with high quality ingredients and great attention to detail. Yes, it is expensive, but the quality, excellent service and great ambience absolutely justify it. I've been there several times and the food was good. Unfortunately last night it was the complete opposite. The sea bream tasteless, mixed vegetables, although I only ordered broccoli, that too was completely tasteless. Unfortunately, the price did not correspond to the performance in any way. Too bad.

I have already reserved a table for 2 people for Boxing Day, i.e. December 26th, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. on November 22nd, 2024, and also received the written reservation confirmation on November 22nd, 2024. Today, December 20th, 2024, we were informed that the restaurant cannot "honor" the reservation and the reservation has been canceled. I can only describe such an approach as extremely unprofessional - actually even outrageous.

Overall a great evening! The food was excellent (beef fillet or veal chop) - perhaps the side dishes needed a little more sophistication to achieve true perfection. But for the location and food, the price-performance ratio is great. (But that shouldn't mislead anyone into thinking that it costs little) Particularly noteworthy is the really friendly service - a big thank you to Francesco - who accompanied us very warmly throughout the evening. Later, when it was completely full, it took a little longer - but still overall great service.

We like to come to Königstein every 1-2 months to spend a lovely evening at Lucullus. On the whole we are satisfied. We had a few evenings where it wasn't that great and some dishes still have room for improvement (e.g. the carbonara), but other dishes and especially everything "from the sea" are great! The same is true with service. :-) Only the noise in the dining room is sometimes very high, but if you have a table at the edge, it's okay. We find the selection and advice regarding the wines to be absolutely appropriate.

very good mood, cozy atmosphere, great taste. you should skip value for money here. this is the place where you spend money and fully enjoy your time by focusing on whom you are with and what you eat. the only thing whjch could have been better was attitude of staff. i felt kind of unfcomfortable pressure when i ordered. he pushed me to be in hurry to finish order. it was definitely uncomfortable feeling.

[Update] Nachdem wir nun inzwischen regelmäßige Besucher bei Lucullus in Königstein sind möchte ich die Bewertung nochmals aktualisieren. Die gesamtheitliche wirtschaftliche Situation (durch Corona, Inflation etc.) hat viele Gastronomen vor verständliche Herausforderungen gestellt. Nichts desto trotz ist Lucullus eine der wenigen/einzigen Adressen (im eigentlich so verwöhnten Vordertaunus), die gastronomisch noch immer auf einem Top-Niveau mitspielt. Ausnahmslos empfehlenswert, Speisen raffiniert und qualitativ top, Service geschult, Ambiente klasse. Der gehobene Preis passt zur gebotenen Leistung nach wie vor. [ursprüngliche Bewertung Anfang 2022 // 5/5 Sterne] Die Preise sind gehoben, die Leistung ist es aber auch! Servicegedanke, Professionalität und Qualität der Zutaten passen, waren nun dreimal hier zu Gast und dreimal äußerst zufrieden.

Klassische italienische Küche auf hohem Niveau. Seit über 20 Jahren existiert das Lucullus in Königstein am Eingang des Kurparks, und es ist eine erste Adresse für die klassische gehobene italienische Küche. Das Lokal ist in dunklen Brauntönen gehalten, und man sitzt gemütlich an kleinen Tischen vor Weinregalen oder im Wintergarten mit Blick in den Kurpark. Die Speisekarte bietet für Antipasti, Primi und Secondi jeweils eine Handvoll Gerichte von hoher Produktqualität. Zudem gibt es immer Tagesempfehlungen. Alles ist sorgfältig zubereitet und schön präsentiert. Hervorzuheben die Mareggiata (Tagliolini mit Meeresfrüchten und Edelfischen in sehr schönem Fischsud) sowie der gegrillte Seeteufel auf Gemüse oder das Filet vom Steinbeißer auf perfektem Risotto. Beide Fischgerichte waren Tagesempfehlung. Dazu ein offener Südtiroler Chardonnay aus St. Michael in Eppan - perfekt. Die Preise sind gehoben - die Primi liegen bei Mitte 20 Euro, die Secondi Mitte 30 Euro, aber das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Freundlicher, aufmerksamer Service, der immer genau zur Stelle ist, wenn man ihn braucht. Für einen besonderen Abend ist das Lucullus lohnenswert.

Top! Sehr gastfreundlich. Es wurde extra ein Tisch für uns hergerichtet, obwohl alle Standardtische auf der Terrasse besetzt waren. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

I thought most of the food was tasty, I didn’t care much for our first course, but the main and dessert were good, however the price was very high for a normal restaurant, as high as a Michelin restaurant. Over 100€ p.p without a bottle of wine.
