I recently visited my favorite restaurant, and as always, the experience was outstanding. The two staff members, Argena and Francesco, made our visit even more special. Their professionalism and warm hospitality made us feel welcome and well-cared for. The chef's legendary dishes are beyond compare—simply phenomenal. Their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction are truly commendable. Highly recommend visiting this place to experience great service and delicious food!

Reserved, when we arrive the reservation is canceled digitally. Very unfortunate because we were traveling with guests on a Saturday evening, so there was a reduced alternative offer in the meantime. No guest orientation in the event of a problem (you could have called, for example, the number was available). Won't make another attempt, there are enough alternatives in the area, friends told similar incidents.

We had a very nice evening at Lucullus and were warmly welcomed at the entrance. A candlelit path led to our table. Francesco immediately introduced himself as our waiter and was very friendly throughout and had good recommendations. The food was excellent, the eye is also known to be very good, the food looked very tasty. Francesco also made sure that we received our food at the same time, which is no longer a given today. Yes, you pay more, but in return you get very friendly and good service and excellent food. We'd love to come back.

We have just had the pleasure of visiting Lucullus for the first time and it was undoubtedly a special experience. Since we built our house three years ago, we have regularly explored the gastronomic diversity of the area, but rarely has a restaurant impressed us so completely. When you enter, the Lucullus impresses with its stylish ambience, a perfect balance between elegance and a feel-good atmosphere. A tasteful interior with excellent cuisine and outstanding service - especially from Francesco! The dishes were prepared to perfection and of very good quality. As a starter we chose the “Il Tataki” – with excellent taste. The carbonara was convincing with its authentic preparation, as was the risotto with octopus in its aromatic depth. An all around perfect evening! As soon as we entered the restaurant we were warmly welcomed. The service was first class throughout. Francesco, his colleague and Daniel impressed with their friendliness, professionalism and attentiveness. What was particularly nice was the gesture that our dog was immediately given a water bowl and greeted in a very charming way. As a dog owner, you are particularly happy about this, because that is not something that can be taken for granted. The food was excellent, prepared with high quality ingredients and great attention to detail. Yes, it is expensive, but the quality, excellent service and great ambience absolutely justify it. We felt completely comfortable and would love to come back.

I've been there several times and the food was good. Unfortunately last night it was the complete opposite. The sea bream tasteless, mixed vegetables, although I only ordered broccoli, that too was completely tasteless. Unfortunately, the price did not correspond to the performance in any way. Too bad.

I have already reserved a table for 2 people for Boxing Day, i.e. December 26th, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. on November 22nd, 2024, and also received the written reservation confirmation on November 22nd, 2024. Today, December 20th, 2024, we were informed that the restaurant cannot "honor" the reservation and the reservation has been canceled. I can only describe such an approach as extremely unprofessional - actually even outrageous.

Absolutely amazing. Had a business dinner, food was amazing, our waiter - Francesco - was amazing and incredibly attentive, atmosphere is classy and timeless. I cannot recommend enough, you will get what your money worth.

Overall a great evening! The food was excellent (beef fillet or veal chop) - perhaps the side dishes needed a little more sophistication to achieve true perfection. But for the location and food, the price-performance ratio is great. (But that shouldn't mislead anyone into thinking that it costs little) Particularly noteworthy is the really friendly service - a big thank you to Francesco - who accompanied us very warmly throughout the evening. Later, when it was completely full, it took a little longer - but still overall great service.

Very stylish atmosphere, very nice service (English) and a small selection of food. I had shrimp risotto and even though I'm not a fan of risotto, I found it delicious. I only have to deduct a star for a few leftover shrimp arms in the risotto.

We like to come to Königstein every 1-2 months to spend a lovely evening at Lucullus. On the whole we are satisfied. We had a few evenings where it wasn't that great and some dishes still have room for improvement (e.g. the carbonara), but other dishes and especially everything "from the sea" are great! The same is true with service. :-) Only the noise in the dining room is sometimes very high, but if you have a table at the edge, it's okay. We find the selection and advice regarding the wines to be absolutely appropriate.

very good mood, cozy atmosphere, great taste. you should skip value for money here. this is the place where you spend money and fully enjoy your time by focusing on whom you are with and what you eat. the only thing whjch could have been better was attitude of staff. i felt kind of unfcomfortable pressure when i ordered. he pushed me to be in hurry to finish order. it was definitely uncomfortable feeling.

This restaurant is a bit more expensive, but you get great food, excellent service in an inviting atmosphere. Well worth it if you are in the area and have a reason to really treat yourself and/or others!

[Update] Nachdem wir nun inzwischen regelmäßige Besucher bei Lucullus in Königstein sind möchte ich die Bewertung nochmals aktualisieren. Die gesamtheitliche wirtschaftliche Situation (durch Corona, Inflation etc.) hat viele Gastronomen vor verständliche Herausforderungen gestellt. Nichts desto trotz ist Lucullus eine der wenigen/einzigen Adressen (im eigentlich so verwöhnten Vordertaunus), die gastronomisch noch immer auf einem Top-Niveau mitspielt. Ausnahmslos empfehlenswert, Speisen raffiniert und qualitativ top, Service geschult, Ambiente klasse. Der gehobene Preis passt zur gebotenen Leistung nach wie vor. [ursprüngliche Bewertung Anfang 2022 // 5/5 Sterne] Die Preise sind gehoben, die Leistung ist es aber auch! Servicegedanke, Professionalität und Qualität der Zutaten passen, waren nun dreimal hier zu Gast und dreimal äußerst zufrieden.

Klassische italienische Küche auf hohem Niveau. Seit über 20 Jahren existiert das Lucullus in Königstein am Eingang des Kurparks, und es ist eine erste Adresse für die klassische gehobene italienische Küche. Das Lokal ist in dunklen Brauntönen gehalten, und man sitzt gemütlich an kleinen Tischen vor Weinregalen oder im Wintergarten mit Blick in den Kurpark. Die Speisekarte bietet für Antipasti, Primi und Secondi jeweils eine Handvoll Gerichte von hoher Produktqualität. Zudem gibt es immer Tagesempfehlungen. Alles ist sorgfältig zubereitet und schön präsentiert. Hervorzuheben die Mareggiata (Tagliolini mit Meeresfrüchten und Edelfischen in sehr schönem Fischsud) sowie der gegrillte Seeteufel auf Gemüse oder das Filet vom Steinbeißer auf perfektem Risotto. Beide Fischgerichte waren Tagesempfehlung. Dazu ein offener Südtiroler Chardonnay aus St. Michael in Eppan - perfekt. Die Preise sind gehoben - die Primi liegen bei Mitte 20 Euro, die Secondi Mitte 30 Euro, aber das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Freundlicher, aufmerksamer Service, der immer genau zur Stelle ist, wenn man ihn braucht. Für einen besonderen Abend ist das Lucullus lohnenswert.

Top! Sehr gastfreundlich. Es wurde extra ein Tisch für uns hergerichtet, obwohl alle Standardtische auf der Terrasse besetzt waren. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

I thought most of the food was tasty, I didn’t care much for our first course, but the main and dessert were good, however the price was very high for a normal restaurant, as high as a Michelin restaurant. Over 100€ p.p without a bottle of wine.

Alle negativen Rezensionen waren entweder in einem anderen Lokal oder haben seltsame Erwartungen. Das Essen ist einmalig. Wer von überteuert spricht, hat eine verschobene Linse. Günstig, rustikal mit einem ganz einfachen gradlinigem Charme. Aufmerksame Kellner, tolles Essen und alles sehr schnell. Bekamen ohne Probleme unbürokratisch einen Tisch trotz vieler Reservierungen. Einer der besten Griechen der Stadt.

Sehr flexibel im Arrangement der Tischreservierung bei unerwartet mehr Personen. Die Qualität des Essens war hervorragend, die empfohlenen Weine sehr passend. Wir komnen bestimmt wieder.

Alleine schon das Ambiente lädt zum Verweilen ein. Das Fleisch ist ein Gedicht aber auch die selbstgerechten Pastagerichte suchen Ihresgleichen. Die Portionen sind nicht zu klein, wenn man also Vor- und Hauptspeise nimmt, sollte man auch genügend Hunger mitbringen. Die Weinauswahl ist ebenfalls extrem gut und das Servicepersonal lässt keine Wünsche offen.

Ich besuche schon seit beinahe 10 Jahren das Lucullus regelmäßig mit meiner Familie. Ausgefallenes italienisches Essen auf hohem Niveau, stilvolle Einrichtung und ein ausgezeichnetes Personal. Sehr empfehlenswert!!

Exquisite Italian restaurant with outstanding food! Had the Fusilli with truffle cream which was perfect. Served on pre heated plates! For main, we had the catch of the day, a wild halibut with saffron sauce on a zucchini risotto, accompanied by a Pinot Bianco white wine from St Michael in Eppan, Süd- Tirol. Everything was wonderful and we will be back!

Angetan von einigen Besuchen vor der Pandemie sollte dieses Essen nach der Wiedereröffnung nach Corona etwas Besonderes werden. Es wurde aber leider eher eine Enttäuschung. Die Speisekarte war klein, was zunächst nicht unbedingt schlecht ist. Wenn dann aber bereits einige Gerichte ausverkauft waren und damit die Auswahl eingeschränkt war wurde die Vorfreude stark getrübt. Die Auswahl an Fischgerichten beschränkte sich auf zwei (!), aber auch die Auswahl an Fleischgerichten war sehr überschaubar. Die dann bestellten Vorspeisen waren nicht gewürzt und somit nahezu geschmacksneutral. Der Salat war nicht angemacht, Spuren von Dressing fanden sich dann am Tellerrand. Die Hauptspeisen waren lediglich ok, wobei wir durch vergangene Besuche sicherlich verwöhnt waren. Wenn man dann überhaupt noch von einem wirklich gelungenen Gang sprechen konnte dann waren das die Dolce. Sehr schön angerichtet und auch gelungen zusammen gestellt. Der Service war unaufdringlich und wie sonst gewohnt höflich. Wir vermuten, dass durch Corona der Betrieb noch nicht wieder so in Schwung gekommen ist und die Besucher durch die Wiedereröffnung zahlreicher erschienen sind als geplant. Wir würden uns wünschen, wenn zukünftig die Speisekarte dem Rechnung trägt und der Koch zu alter Stärke wiederfindet.

Ich habe heute das erste mal dort bestellt. Das essen würde zum Vereinbarten Zeitpunkt geliefert . Es war sauber und ordentlich verpackt und noch sehr warm. Die Burger waren super lecker und der Preis durchaus gerechtfertigt. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Wir haben das erste mal unser Essen an Silvester abgeholt. Ich kann nur sagen es war alles PERFEKT!! Hoffe das wir einen kleinen Beitrag zu diesen DESASTER Lockdown leisten konnten. Freuen uns wieder auf 2021 wenn alles wieder normal ist!!

Wir gehen 2-3x im Monat ins Lucullus und sind noch nie enttäuscht worden. Gerade in Corona Zeiten hält man sich hier vorbildlich an alle Auflagen, die Kellner sind immer freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell. Das essen hervorragend. Das Lucullus ist nicht gerade der günstigste Italiener, aber mit Abstand der beste.

Das Lucullus Restaurant ist einfach perfekt für einen schönen Ausklang - nach einem Spaziergang durch Königstein. Die Location ist großartig - die Auswahl an Getränken ist super und hochwertig und zudem kommt die italienische Küche mit speziellen Aromen! Der Service zudem ist absolut überzeugend. Schnell und sehr professionell! Hier kann man es sich wirklich gut gehen lassen - ein Aperitif, danach ein kleines Dessert - und der Nachmittag ist perfekt! Wir kommen wieder!

Außgezeichnete Ausgangsprodukte, originelle Rezepte, perfekte Zubereitung, gute Weine und ein sehr aufmerksamer Service. Das Lucullus ist eines der besten italienischen Restaurants in der Region. Klar sind die Preise hoch, aber auch nicht höher als bei anderen Top-Italienern im Rhein-Main-Gebiet!

Ich hatte hohe Erwartungen an Geschmack und Qualität. Bin leider sehr enttäuscht. Kein Gewürz, kein Piff und auch noch kalt. Die Qualität der Zutaten war aber so gut, sodass auch ein schlechter Koch die Mahlzeit nicht gänzlich verderben konnte. Schade, werde demnächst wieder woanders Essen gehen

It’s an Italian place but I decided to get a beef tenderloin from the owner’s recommendation. It was very good. Had a salad to start with. I’m glad I didn’t have a bigger appetizer.
