Nice location. Terrible, slow, inattentive service at the restaurant. Waited 20 mins for service even after alerting them to the fact we were waiting, they still ignored us. They did eventually turn up only to bring (completely unnecessary) cushions but no menu so we gave up and went to the bar which is much nicer with great service.

Size booked for 350€ plus is looking like YMCA hostel. Unflexible staff. Restaurant crew on other side very caring and good. The Hotel Falkenstein Grand, in the Landgut restaurant, is a fantastic place to dine at a very high level and enjoy your time. We were warmly welcomed and had a wonderful evening. The service staff is very attentive and fulfills the guests' wishes. What makes the whole hotel unique is the location and of course the historical story. The hotel certainly meets the standards of a 5-star hotel in terms of service, cuisine and wellness; However, the house and the rooms are clearly showing their age. This is probably most visible in the underground tunnel that connects the main building with the outbuildings. I avoided this as much as possible if possible. The tunnel was run down and had the charm of a poorly lit bunker. This urgently needs to be improved! The last renovation in the room itself was probably a few years ago. Nevertheless, all in all a positive experience, especially due to the mostly very friendly team, the very good spa treatments and the great location.

I had dinner in this restaurant last night and was unfortunately very disappointed. When I ordered I was told by the waiter that the truffle was not available for the truffle pasta. I then ordered the pasta with butter and parmesan. Still, I had to pay full price for the truffle pasta, even though I knew from the start that the truffles were missing. I find that absolutely disgraceful. The remaining dishes were also carelessly prepared and the price-performance ratio was in no way justified. The service also seemed inappropriate and unprofessional. Overall, my visit was unfortunately a big disappointment!

Family celebration on Saturday evening in the restaurant and there was nothing to complain about. The table was prepared as requested and the food was, as expected (given the price), very tasty, both the meat and the fish. Our waiter Burak contributed significantly to this successful evening: attentive and courteous, without seeming intrusive and, above all, very friendly and helpful. The suggestions (be it for aperitifs or wines) or the special requests expressed corresponded to our ideas or were fulfilled without any problems. We'd love to come back!

Only stayed overnight before flying out, and I wish I'd had more time to spend there. The room was amazingly nice. Not sure about other's experiences - I know they've been doing a lot of renovations, so maybe they got one of the unrenovated rooms? The view from our balcony was breathtaking, and the room was very large and top-notch by ANY standard. Clean, comfortable, with lots of amenities. The king bed was amazingly comfortable - I definitely didn't want to get out when it was time to go to the airport. The restaurant was very good, as was their newly renovated bar. "Our Hero" the bartender was great with us, and makes a mean martini. He (and most of the staff) is multilingual, so us being English-only speakers wasn't an issue. Our time there was short, but we plan to return. The only very minor annoyance is parking when loading/unloading bags. The hotel sits high on a hill, with beautiful grounds, so the driveway up to the front door is rather narrow. Still, they'll get your bags for you and bring them up if need be, so not worth removing a star there. Again, this place is first-class all the way.

We always like to come to this hotel when we have business in Kronberg or Frankfurt. Fantastically quiet location with a great view of Frankfurt and the surrounding area. We also like to take some relaxation and short hikes in between as you can start directly from the hotel. Breakfast and dinner in the hotel are highly recommended. A special thank you to Burak and his team in the evening for great recommendations, unobtrusive and very courteous service! We look forward to our next stay.

Large suite in the next building 2. Lots of space, but that's about it. The suite smelled really musty and wasn't heated. Unfortunately the radiators only got lukewarm. The furnishings were more reminiscent of a furnished apartment without any feel-good atmosphere. The carpets in hallways and the elevator are stained, the underground passage to the main building/spa looks like a catacomb. All in all not worth 3 stars. I would like to exclude the restaurant and the service at dinner, both were very good! The view over Frankfurt from the terrace is also fantastic. All in all, the hotel is not worth the price, so we cannot recommend booking it.

In wonderful late summer weather, we spent the afternoon with delicious Negronis and breathtaking views from the skyline terrace in the Falkenstein Grand. The staff was consistently attentive, refreshingly young and approachable. Our move inside when it got cooler enriched our grand experience: an Art Nouveau lobby lounge to feel good. At the end we were given a short tour of the Imperial Hall and the library. We'd love to come back!

A hotel that breathes the time of Kaiser Wilhelm in its architecture and some of its furnishings. We arrived early and asked if we could charge our electric car at one of two free charging stations. In any case, it didn't work with the in-house charging card. The friendly lady at the reception also made the way to the charging stations free of charge. An employee vehicle ultimately has to move from one of the two functioning charging stations and the column's fuse must be reactivated. Two of the four charging slots don't work at all, but that is known. Well, at 4:30 p.m. we get the room, a suite two buildings away. Large, with lots of space, but unfortunately without any homely feel. Why does the room have a kitchenette without accessories? There is furniture and lights in the room, but no one has turned up the radiators even a little. The tables and walls are devoid of any homely accessories, apart from the few picture frames, which makes the large rooms appear even bare and colder. We have the impression that everything that cannot be attached has been removed. We turn on the radiators and go to the wellness area. The underground passage reminds us of the casemates of the Maginot complexes of the last war in Alsace. Bare walls, plain, dingy carpets (especially in front of the elevator in building 2), torn door stops and scratched walls accompany us on the at least 150 m long tunnel path. The so-called wellness area is very well equipped with almost a dozen comfortable loungers and plenty of towels provided. There are high quality teas to choose from, including water from a dispenser. Unfortunately, the sauna, like the bio sauna, is very small and has an interior with no windows or ventilation. If you want to shower off your sweat with a warm shower, you have to go a few rooms further to the men's or women's locker room. The outdoor pool is heated and filled to an attractive size with soft Taunus spring water, but it has not been cleaned for a while and is surrounded by a rusty metal frame in the entrance area. External day guests complement our weak impression of the so-called five-star wellness area. When children arrive in the wellness area, we go back to the room quite quickly. There is no serve service in the room, and information about free drinks is also missing, although something was put on the table. Even after entering several times, the rooms and the tunnel connecting the buildings exude a military-barren and uncomfortable atmosphere. The kitchen performance and restaurant service under the direction of Burak are completely different. Professional, friendly and attentive without being intrusive, we enjoy perfectly prepared dishes (soup, carpaccio, Viennese schnitzel and Iberico cutlet), but of course also at an appropriate price. The advertised bar is not in operation. “Because of the summer”, that means they offered garden entertainment in the summer, but they didn’t realize that autumn (12 degrees and rain) had long since begun. This weather outside also makes us get over the fact that the view of the Frankfurt skyline cannot be seen from any of the three windows in our suite; the trees in front of the house obscure any view in this regard. In the morning we would like to make two teas in the room, after all we have a kitchenette. But there is no container for hot tea and the two espresso cups are also unsuitable for the coffee lungo on offer. The bathroom also lacks any small hygiene items, such as cotton swabs, shower caps, etc. In short, the equipment is haphazard. Conclusion: Kitchen very good, restaurant service very good, interior/equipment and condition at least poor, wellness area very weak. Recommendation for going out to eat, yes, but not for staying overnight and/or doing some wellness.

I spent my wedding night there last weekend. On the positive side, we got a free upgrade. The receptionist was also very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, there are a few negative points to note: - the shower was broken - only the rain shower worked, unfortunately the normal shower head didn't work at all! - The telephone next to the bed was broken, despite a reminder to reception this problem was not remedied. - Despite repeated email requests to bring a dessert plate to our room in the evening, this was completely forgotten. Our request to make up for the omission was no longer complied with when we pointed out that the kitchen was closed (10 p.m.!! - normally open until 11 p.m.) - Breakfast buffet on weekends is offered until 11 a.m. Already largely empty by 9:45 a.m. The rest of the dishes were already unappetizing and not worthy of a 5 star hotel. (Fresh fruit juices either empty or dead wasps floating in them.) As an apology we were given a Cola Zero from the minibar!!!!!!!!!

We tested the Falkenstein Grand a few weeks ago and booked a quiet “Taunus Suite” in one of the adjacent buildings. The room category and location were confirmed to us in writing and verbally one day before arrival. We cannot recommend the Falkenstein Grand and can only rate it unsatisfactory: The hotel can only be reached by phone with considerable waiting times, The room booking staff appear uninterested, are unfriendly and not very competent in booking and detailed questions, In room check-in or in room check-out is not possible, so unfortunately Waiting in line at the reception is announced, Agreements on the room category are not adhered to, rather “the reception allocates rooms on the day of arrival” (sic), There is no welcome gift, not even in our alternative “allocated suite”, not even a small welcome card is given, For possible room service you have to pay a deposit of at least Euro 100.00, the hotel restaurant and hotel bar closes at 11 p.m. on Saturdays, which is certainly remarkable and unusual for a so-called 5-star hotel, The hotel has a number of so-called dirty hotel corners (worn corners and walls, luggage trolleys and laundry trolleys standing around in the corridors, door closers that don't close, dirty carpets, etc.) It is not enough that there was no AC or an extra toilet in our assigned “alternative suite”. It was also astonishing that guest management apparently does not take place at the Falkenstein Grand. This hotel has an interesting old history, you can say that the spirit of past eras is felt in it. However, if from a historical point of view this is positive, then from a practical point of view the hotel needs reconstruction, because past decades were sometimes preserved in it along with the smells. The once luxurious hotel now gives the impression of being old-fashioned and behind the times, which is not saved by modern televisions and wireless Internet. At the same time, it should be noted that the place in which it is located is very picturesque and the hotel offers a beautiful panorama of Frankfurt on the Main. Also, there is more than enough parking space and the breakfast is excellent, quite consistent with the hotel category. In conclusion, I have to report one more unpleasant feature of the hotel. It is not unusual to be charged a deposit upon arrival and upon departure to pay extra for accommodation and the restaurant if you have used one. When checking out, you are given the usual printout about the paid services and it would seem that this is where your relationship with the hotel ends. However, on the third day after this, you will be charged the full amount again, although the previously paid amount continues to be withheld for some time. I was unlucky; in my case, the funds in my account were unfrozen almost three weeks after I left the hotel. So, if you are planning to visit this hotel, be prepared to reserve double the amount for services and accommodation for a while. And about the restaurant. The price of dinner there is too high and does not correspond to the level of the cuisine.

Everything was prepared in advance, there was a room upgrade on top as a Bonvoy member and so check-in went super smoothly. Mr. Welter presented the hotel professionally without exception, so that you really enjoyed your stay. The room was excellent and everything was neatly in place - Great Housekeeping! My parents celebrated my mother's 90th birthday in a small group at the Grand Falkenstein on Whit Sunday. The service (Mrs. Kim Meyer, very nice) was wonderful. But this anecdote is particularly noteworthy: The parents initially made a mistake and parked at the sister hotel in town and understandably wandered around a bit. A friendly employee recognized the situation, didn't mess around for long but said "I'm driving ahead of you now, just follow me" and guided the old gentlemen happily and safely to their destination. He also quickly arranged access on site and the small celebration could get off to a great start. Thank you for this, I am writing the review on behalf of the parents. Keep it up!

I was there last week. Guest house No. 2 with a room at the back. I found the room very cramped, I didn't even know where to open my suitcase. "Not everything that glitters is gold." For years, the Falkenstein Grand was my first choice for business trips to Frankfurt. The special peace and location in Königstein offered an ideal retreat from busy city life. However, based on my last experience, I unfortunately have to advise against booking this hotel again. Recently, a personal emergency forced me to cancel a reservation I had made through a booking platform just the day before. Hoping for understanding and goodwill, I contacted the hotel directly instead of canceling via the platform. However, the response I received was less than forthcoming. Despite explaining my situation and pointing out my previous loyalty to the hotel, the "reservations and revenue manager" refused any possibility of a flexible solution. This rigid attitude makes me seriously question what standards the staff is trained to in a hotel of this price category. One expects a significantly higher level of service and customer orientation from a company with such standards. The inflexible and impersonal treatment of my urgent request deeply disappointed me and left a lasting negative impression. It is regrettable that there was no willingness to provide a customer-focused solution at a time when understanding and flexibility were needed. I would like to emphasize that it is particularly a shame because I have always found the other employees to be extremely authentically friendly. I will definitely not make any more bookings at your hotel in the future and will also share my negative experiences with my professional network.

After much thought and with a heavy heart, I had to write this review. At the beginning of 2023 we got married in this house, in the Penthouse Master Suite, it wasn't 100% perfect, but we overcame it. - Jacuzzi in the bathroom moldy - We were allowed to get our luggage out of the trunk ourselves in the pouring rain, while two young men watched us standing dry under the roof, despite speaking to them. Actually they were sent to get the suitcases...etc As I said, we wanted to overlook all of that and emphasized several times before checkout that we would like to and will stay in this Penthouse Master Suite EVERY YEAR on our wedding anniversary. We booked ages in advance, only to be called/emailed TWO DAYS before check-in, which was so EMPATHYLESS & so service-free that I really thought we were at the hidden camera. Because there was a technical defect that could have been prevented, we should either CANCEL or come and pay the FULL amount... you really can't make that up. As I said, on our WEDDING ANNIVERSARY weekend. We're not talking about a youth hostel or a motel, we're talking about a (actually) more upscale house in which I have to leave several THOUSANDS of euros for three nights...then I also want the performance and service! No independent concession at all, only with repeated requests and even then so half-heartedly that we could have saved EVERYTHING. Anyone who works in such establishments should also have a corresponding service and quality concept... accordingly, I would recommend that the entire team, especially the leading positions, attend training courses or seminars so that the service concept corresponds to the establishment and not a hostel. It's our wedding anniversary. We wanted to start a family tradition. But apparently the house doesn't need SATISFIED GUESTS or even money...accordingly, as hard as it is for me...I can't recommend it. Price-performance Service thought How to treat your guests... I would like to save everyone the disappointment.

We spent 2 nights in this 5 star Marriot Group hotel. First of all, the building is a listed building and was used in the past as a sanatorium and hospital, among other things. The rooms: Unfortunately I can only say something about the rooms in house 1 that have not been renovated. Although these are spacious, they are very old. The room has a small kitchen, which is only equipped with 2 coffee cups and 2 water glasses, no dishes, although there is a dishwasher, hob and microwave. The furniture is classic, but quite old. Unfortunately, the television does not have smart access, e.g. for Netflix. Sockets are available, but inconveniently placed, for example not by the bed. A bottle opener was brought to my room, but I also look for it in vain. There is classic branded stationery from the company and a branded postcard for today's influencer ;) Service: Unfortunately, after the room was cleaned, tea and coffee capsules were not refilled, which is a shame. I know it differently from 5 star hotels. The employees are nice. Breakfast: The breakfast is priced very high, but I would actually have expected a better selection of fruit and possibly a waffle iron for the younger customers. The sandwich maker was there too. Spa/Fitness: The hotel has a heated outdoor pool which unfortunately doesn't really invite you to linger at 11 degrees, it's too cold. The indoor jacuzzi can accommodate 4 people, more will be comfortable. The fitness area, especially the cardio area, is better than most hotels. I can't say anything about the sauna. Marriot Bonvoy Advantages: The hotel used to belong to Kempinski and for a few years to Marriot. First of all, as a Platinium customer you don't get a greeting, nor were you offered a late check out (refused when asked) or an upgrade in the room category. This is actually the first time that a hotel has not offered any of the Bonvoy benefits. Conclusion: Would I book the hotel again under these circumstances? Probably not. Unfortunately, the 5 stars can't really be found anywhere, there are other houses that have better prices and facilities and offer more for the money.
