L'Osteria Hannover Lavesstraße in Hannover

We ate there with a group. One waiter was very difficult to understand and also quite rude and annoyed. He kept looking at his watch provocatively, as if telling us to leave the restaurant quickly. When we ordered drinks again at 10:15 p.m., he rudely told us they were closing soon. The restaurant is actually open until 11 p.m., and you can actually finish a drink in 45 minutes. We felt pressured the whole time. A nice, relaxed evening looks different. When we paid by card, we had the option to leave a tip. On the card reader, from top to bottom, there were options for 20%, 15%, 10%, another amount, or no tip at all (as I recall). I rate the food three stars – we all had pasta dishes.

The food is delicious and the value for money is good. The fact that you can top half of the pizza with two different toppings is especially great. The staff was friendly, but quite overwhelmed and understaffed.

You should definitely make a reservation. All tables were occupied. The pizzas are not only mega big but also mega tasty. It's great that you can order 2 types on one pizza. Or even share a Puzza. The tiramisu is also not to be despised. The service friendly and quick.

Service could be a little quicker when it comes to reordering drinks, but otherwise the concept works.

The food was impeccable. Very tasty, everything was super fresh and the (huge) pizzas were baked perfectly. The service was very quick, extremely friendly and very attentive. Unfortunately, it was quite loud overall, making conversations a bit difficult. However, it was also very crowded. If there isn't so much going on, it will probably be quieter. Overall we felt very comfortable here.

We went here for lunch with a group of 20 people and the service was really great! Great service, everyone got their food almost at the same time, generous portions, even the men were well fed. We would eat again at any time! Big praise to the team 💖

In itself it was a great dinner, but there was a misunderstanding with the staff and we had to wait quite a long time for our food. The next table that came after us had food on the table in front of us. The waitress apologized several times, but that made eating with two children quite stressful, as everyone next to us had almost empty plates before we finally got our food. In the end, the noodles in the children's meals were unfortunately not fully cooked and extremely al dente. The children then ate them because no one wanted to wait for food again, otherwise we would have let them go back. It was simply unfortunate, as we have always been satisfied L'Osteria guests. What was incomprehensible to us was that we had a children's portion of pasta with tomato sauce and a "normal" portion with Bolognese. This was the same size as the children's portion and cost three times as much. The price difference is definitely not acceptable. Unfortunately we only saw this once we had paid. Here too, we would otherwise have spoken directly to the staff.

Very good food, fast and friendly service and the right atmosphere.

It's a very bad experience. German is not my native language, so sometimes I have to translate a few words. A waiter rudely asked me what I wanted to order, I said I still had to look, and he left very dismissively. And after a few minutes I want to order, a waitress will let me wait. And I waited 10 minutes! Every waitress and waiter act like they don't see me. The service attitude was very bad! As a restaurant chain, it is very disappointing to hire such service-oriented waitresses and waiters.

The service was very nice and accommodating, but the table we sat at was a little too close to the other guests for my taste and too small for two pizzas. We ordered the vegan tuna pizza from the January menu as well as spinach pasta (Mezzalune Spenaci). The latter were quite good, but the pizza was a bit disappointing. It was nice and big, but the covering was sparse and should have been better distributed (more towards the edge). Unfortunately it didn't taste like tuna, but the vegan pizza melt stuck to your teeth. I've had much better pizzas in other L'Osterias. The vegan dessert (chocolate mousse with Amarena) was very tasty, but it should be described as a thick cream. Addendum: We went there again yesterday and had the Nduja Pizza and the Orchiette manzo al limone. The pizza was good but incredibly spicy and a bit oily. The pasta tasted homemade and had a great consistency. Unfortunately, the sauce hardly tasted like anything, but the abundant beef was super intense and fried to perfection. That was really perfect. The dessert of the month (Piccolo Tiramisu with Bailys and strawberries) was delicious, but could taste a little more like Bailys. I also had zoodles here again and they were great. Not soggy and a good portion. The Piccolo Dolci Tiramisu for dessert was unfortunately mainly wet sponge cake with just a little of the delicious cream.

When we arrived at the restaurant, the lady at the reception made a strange grimace at us and seemed very unsympathetic. Because of this behavior we left the restaurant and looked for a new one.

L'Osteria has maintained a high gastronomic standard for more than ten years. Since then, I have enjoyed eating there regularly. Thank you Jan Hausen and your excellent team!! Highly recommended!!!!

Medium to large size dishes at decent prices. Pizza is at least 40cm in diameter, tasty as well. Staff is also very friendly, the overall atmosphere is pleasant.

Good pizzas, both in quantity and quality.

Overall, a good place to have a nice casual dinner. The pizzas looked amazing, but I had beef and mango salad. The salad was let down by the small portion of beef but it did taste very nice.

Of course, on Saturday evening, at the best German dinner time, everything was very, very full. Nevertheless, after a short wait, we were assigned a place at the counter and at this point it becomes very subjective, because in the basement at the employee service area, in the back of the trash cans. There are nicer places, that's just to classify the rating, it didn't particularly bother us, but certainly not everyone will see it that way. Otherwise there is nothing to complain about. Service was friendly, pizzas were huge and very tasty, so the price-performance ratio was right again. The lasagne was also good, but I would say that hungry stomachs do better with the pizza 😊

Went there for a business lunch at lunchtime on January 23rd, 2025. Food great! What should be highlighted is the extremely friendly and attentive service at our table. Great respect to be able to employ such employees!

Good location near train station. Nice and attentive service. The pizza is larger than the plate, but is very flat and difficult to cut. The noodles are normally good. Good, but not cheap...

Went in spontaneously and were served early despite the store being full, so we arrived on time for the theater performance next door. Super courteous service and of course very tasty food!!! Monthly pass highly recommended :)

Have eaten here. The pizzas were good & plentiful. The waitress was standing a little off. Ordered food & drinks had to be requested several times.

First I would like to note the positive experiences: Even though we came to a full house, we were given a table at the bar after a short wait - that was great. The order could also be placed quickly and the drinks were delivered quickly. We chose the Buschetta as a starter - it was pleasantly seasoned and the bread was fried until it was delicious and crispy. The bread that we were served with our meal was also impressive - it was fluffy and light, and tasted really good! I can only say so much about the main course - perhaps the main dishes we ordered just exceptionally weren't good - there are numerous good reviews here. However, the dish (Orechiette di Manzo el Limone) was very blandly seasoned, the meat was partially burnt, and this sooty taste unfortunately also permeated the sauce. The tortelloni were okay - although they could have cooked a minute longer - they were quite firm. The service was characterized by curt waiters who of course tried their best, but somehow couldn't create the cozy restaurant atmosphere that you know from classic Italian restaurants. All in all, the visit was okay, but unfortunately we cannot recommend the restaurant and will probably not come back for a while.

Reservations are highly recommended, especially during peak times. There are basically zero parking spaces nearby.

The experience was excellent in every way. The pizza was simply delicious: perfectly baked crust, fresh ingredients, and well-balanced flavors. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff. Additionally, the cozy and pleasant atmosphere made the evening even better. I was recommended to eat here by the reception staff at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, and it was definitely worth it! Definitely a place I would return to!

L'osteria is really a great restaurant with very tasty food. I love the pizza there, have been there over a dozen times and it won't be my last time. Now to my criticisms, which is why I deducted 1 star (which is very petty) because of the ambience, if you sit near the door it gets cold quickly, especially in winter, which is unpleasant. And because of the food, it's a shame that the pizza gets cold too quickly, but that's a luxury problem because the size and taste is really great, but if the last third of the 4 cheese pizza gets cold, then it doesn't taste as good anymore. Otherwise a top restaurant, definitely visit it if you want good pizzas.

I was here yesterday for the first time, but definitely not the last! The pizza was delicious, the service was first class and even though it was full, the noise level was within a good range (and I'm very sensitive to noise...😅) The pizza is huge, I'll eat the rest for lunch today and I'm looking forward to it very excited 🤤. The option to put different toppings on both halves of the pizza really helps with my indecision. I would highly recommend this restaurant 😊

For the Parmigiana pizza, I would recommend frying the eggplant first to make the pizza even tastier.

Food was great, there was a defect that was easily remedied. We were here in a large group in the run-up to Christmas and received nice and friendly service, but the hectic pace due to the many large groups damaged the ambience and the well-rounded enjoyment of the evening. I wondered whether pizzas really had to be that big ;-), but our group liked it!

Creepy shop. The food (tortellini with ham and cream sauce) tastes bland and musty. Pooh. Everything unseasoned and poorly done. Portion for almost 15 euros is so small that you might think it was a children's meal. What should you expect from a chain?

Incredibly great shop. The service is incredibly nice and friendly. The pizza is gigantic and almost impossible to eat, but extremely tasty. The lasagne is well prepared and extremely tasty. Found a new local restaurant.

Enormous pizzas but really fresh soft dough, delicious!

We had reservations for 9 people. We had to sit far too close together, which wasn't particularly fun to eat given the size of the pizzas. We also sat in the basement and had to collect candles from the tables around because the ceiling light didn't work and you could hardly read the menu. The waitress wasn't very attentive either. We were left stranded at times. However, the food came quickly and, as usual, was delicious.

The pizza did not disappoint. It was a nice evening.

Waiter was rude to us twice when making both the drinks and food orders respectively. As the only all African table, we could observe a more pleasant exchange between the waiter and other patrons. When we tried to raise this concern about this lack of courteousy, the waiter arrogantly dismissed us. Needless to say, we were forced to cancel our food order and pay for our drinks before looking for alternative restaurant.

We were the only poc table and the main waiter (long white shirt guy) treated us poorly. He was rude, impatient, and didn't pay attention when we were making orders. When we asked him to speak to us calmly, he was dismissive so we cancelled our food order and decided to finish the drinks and leave. This was extremely unpleasant, pocs should never come here!!!!

Very friendly staff, super delicious food. We had a nice evening with friends. Oh yes, the prices are reasonable.

Unfortunately far too loud, acoustics terrible, reminiscent of a train station hall. Pizza of course delicious & huge.

I was very disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. The service was not only slow and disorganized, but also disrespectful. The staff seemed to have no interest in providing guests with a pleasant experience. We had to wait a very long time for the menu, without any apology or explanation. When we asked politely, we were treated with an unfriendly and dismissive attitude. This disrespectful attitude is absolutely unacceptable in a restaurant that wants to present itself as hospitable. The ambience of the restaurant may be fine, but such poor service ruins the entire experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant and hope that those responsible will work on the quality of service to avoid similar disappointments for other guests.

The pizza was good as usual, but not quite as tasty as last time. Maybe it was also because we waited 45 minutes for the food and were a bit annoyed. It was also really cold today because the door was left open for too long and the curtain didn't really hang.

The food was okay. I think a lot of people here rely on the name of the restaurant and thereby compromise on quality. Unfortunately the service was a complete disaster. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait 10 minutes for our table, but if you are late as a guest, the reservation is cancelled. Our order was taken with a roll of the eyes at the special requests that were on the menu. When we asked if we could have another dessert, this was accepted very reluctantly with a view to the clock and the kitchen. Only 2 stars due to poor service. I'm better off with a pizza at home.

I have never been disappointed with food. No matter whether pizza or pasta - always delicious. As a vegetarian, I also think the selection is very good. If you can't make it, you can take the food home with you. The service yesterday was also excellent. The woman was very attentive but never intrusive. Orders were delivered quickly despite the house being full. Always happy 😁

By far my favorite pizza restaurant. Everything works for me there: super delicious pizzas (especially the Parmigiana 😋), special salad variants (Cesar's salad with chicken breast), good wine, delicious desserts (tiramisu and pana cotta). All of this combined with a cozy ambience and at the same time a lively atmosphere. And last but not least: Super-fast and friendly service that I hardly ever find anywhere else. 👏 Now new: The l'osteria bonus system (love hearts). 👍

The ambience is very nice, unfortunately it always feels very cold as soon as the door opens. The service only gets 4 stars because we didn't ask if we would like something more to drink. And when we wanted to pay the bill, we had to ask three times until someone came. The one point deducted from food is that my pasta contained far too much parsley. The paprika cream sauce was extremely tasty, but the parsley often overpowered it.

I had a side salad, a half 4 cheese pizza half tuna. As usual, the pizza is huge and very tasty. The salad was dressed a bit too much with balsamic vinegar and the waiting time was long. Therefore only 4 stars

Waiters top, food too except for the black edge on the bread. Bacon is the main ingredient in pasta dishes. Vegetarian and even vegan pizza are very good. It's just the volume in the room that makes you walk faster than planned, simply because you're forced to scream at each other. A little more air between the tables and sound-absorbing elements would help compensate for the lack of seats through reordering.

A really nice restaurant that I didn't even know about until then. Huge pizzas that you could eat for two with different toppings. Unfortunately, I didn't know that beforehand, then we would have shared it too. The service was prompt and friendly Cleanliness gets 1 star deducted from me, the table and floor were not completely clean. The toilets were bad. They should be checked every now and then!

The three of us ate here again this afternoon and, as always, it was excellent. It didn't take long before we had our starters. Antipasti plate and soup. Simply delicious. The main courses: pasta dishes with shrimp and turkey strips, as well as the really huge pizza were also delicious. Despite the hectic pace, the waiter asked attentively whether everything was okay. What I like best here is the casual atmosphere with high-quality food. Always happy again 👌

First of all, sorry that I don't have any pictures with me today. Food (pizza half BBQ, half vegetarian and pasta of the month) tasted delicious. The tiramisu was also delicious as always. But today I still had to deduct a star today. Reason: we waited almost 30 minutes for food, I'm not used to that. While everyone else around us had already had their food even though they ordered after us. It usually always happens quickly. And then unfortunately a large part of the pizza crust was not filled. Both are annoying. But the waiter was super nice and gave us the tiramisu on the house. Super nice and good service. We'll come again and maybe things will work out the way we're used to.

Ordered food from Wolt. The pizza was cold (delivery error) and the tortellini was delivered incorrectly despite comments. The price of the pizza was refunded through Wolt. The tortellini should be reimbursed by L'Osteria (after telephone consultation). Unfortunately, there was no response when we asked via email and the contact form. Unfortunately, food was so inedible and intolerable for me. Too bad! Unfortunately, more than one star is not possible

Staff incredibly quick in service and yet super friendly and concerned about the guest. For example, it was immediately noticed that my drink was empty when the store was full. The pizza was very tasty, I don't know anything different at L'osteria.

We went there together as a family for dinner. We were able to choose a huge pizza with two different toppings, with the price being calculated depending on the expensive pizza. The dough was nice and thin and crispy, the topping was delicious. My wife chose an offer of pasta with burrata that she really liked. Our children each had a pasta dish with bolognese and tomato sauce. (The waitress offered us these off the menu when we asked.) With drinks we came out at 62 euros. Gladly again.

We were there at lunchtime. The place was 75% full, but only one waiter. There also seemed to be very few staff in the kitchen. We had to wait that long. Unfortunately, a strong draft could also be felt near the door. But the food was very tasty

I was at L'Osteria recently and had a pizza. It was super delicious! The dough was crispy and the ingredients were fresh. The staff was nice too. If you want a good and very, very large pizza that goes outside the box, I can recommend L'Osteria.

It just has its name, nothing else...it doesn't taste good and it's not clean either. There are better places e.g. Lucca and Grossen Hillen.

I ordered the mushroom risotto, which was very bad and didn't have much in common with risotto. In a very nice conversation with the waitress, I found out that the rice was delivered ready-made in bags and that the risotto was not freshly cooked. No wonder you can hardly eat it.

The pizza was very tasty and large, but unfortunately the knives were extremely dull, so you had to press really hard to cut the pizza. I found the drink prices a bit high. (0.33 iced tea for just under 5 euros.)

So it was my first time in this restaurant. Made a very positive impression, really nice. Food was also very good and, above all, cheap. Good price-performance ratio. 👍
