Very good restaurant in the center of Dortmund. Great pizza 🍕 and friendly service.

All in all, ok, nothing special…like any other L’Osteria.

The price/performance ratio was great! For 7 people, around €210 including 3 bottles of wine – totally fine. The pasta dishes were delicious, the pizzas were huge, and the service was pleasant, very friendly, and always approachable. They did a great job!

The pizzas are very, very, very large, so if you're smaller, it's better to share one with two people. Both sides can be topped with different toppings.

Sorry for the bad review, I can only give it 5 stars. Four people were there, and unfortunately, everyone's food was simply delicious... and then the service was so good... outrageous. And then the price... not cheap, but you only get a super delicious meal with fresh ingredients! What was not good, though, was that we were all completely full and extremely satisfied. Unfortunately, I have to tell you that this won't be our last visit. It's simply a disgrace how delicious it was and how good the service was!..........I need to give more stars 😉

Good starters, lasagna could be a bit bigger, but otherwise good food

I was here with my brother and thought I was the only one who thought it was so fantastic until we got our food and were more than satisfied. I would like to thank Iena's very much. Thank you for still having waiters who take their jobs seriously and place such value on customer satisfaction. We will definitely come back and wish everyone only such service and food in the future. If that's what you want, go to the Losteria at Friedensplatz. 5/5 stars in every respect.

The pizzas are great, nothing to complain about. The pasta is also delicious, but often there could be a bit more on the plate. What we didn't like about last night were the salads. They tasted good, but the quantity, for almost €16, was a complete disappointment. A little less and it would pass as a side salad. Apparently, something has changed in fast-food restaurants, because a good seven months ago, they were large salad bowls. Too bad, only 3 stars from me!

We had to wait almost an hour for the pizza, which was delicious. The guy who came after us had already finished his food. And when we ordered dessert, they only listened with one ear. It was also delicious, but just not what we ordered. It wasn't their best day, even though it wasn't busy.

Unfortunately, I can't rate the food because it never arrived! The waiter was arrogant and rude! Not recommended!

Large store, large selection, mediocre food

We had a lovely evening at Losteria. Our server, Gigi, was very attentive and entertaining. We'd love to come back.

The salad was a bit bland, with a lot of sauce, and I missed the bread. Apparently, you have to order that with it. After complaining about too much sauce, I was told to order it separately next time. The antipasto and salad were served at the same time. This was definitely not a good experience.

I went there with a colleague during my lunch break. We ordered a Caesar salad with chicken breast strips. It was remarkable that we were offered different types of olive oil. We opted for the slightly spicy olive oil, which went perfectly with the salad. It tasted excellent. The service was friendly and professional. However, I felt a little lacking in the genuine attention to the guests. The point with eye contact and introducing one's own first name, and the hint that she would be happy to take care of our well-being today, would have been perfect for this place. The ambiance is excellent; I felt at home.

We had a reservation. Two adults and one child. When we entered the restaurant, someone came immediately. We wanted to point out our reservation, as we would have preferred to sit at the edge. We just didn't get a chance. The response was something like: reservation doesn't matter, sit here, and the waitress was gone. Overall, a very unpleasant greeting. Nothing happened for a while, and we didn't want to make a huge fuss about our child. The second waitress, very friendly, came and took our order. Everything came very quickly, although the pasta came well before the pizzas. Not ideal for a table of three, and it wasn't full. Overall, there was a bit of a "processed" feeling. Drink, eat, pay, goodbye. The food was excellent. Everything tasted very good. Overall, though, it was a so-so visit.

"Would you like a drink beforehand?"...a common question in the restaurant industry, and also an understandable approach. Especially since guests can reorder drinks during their stay. However, it becomes unusual when the food arrives before the drinks despite reminders, and the server then notices it again and immediately returns with a completely different drink. It's also unusual because the same procedure happened here in Dortmund a few months ago. The server was clearly uninterested in the grievances raised when paying later, but they did show a very specific keystroke sequence on the card reader...cheeky and a real shame. Also worth mentioning: In terms of taste, both in the pizzas and pasta dishes, L'Osteria Dortmund is now far behind other restaurants in the chain, so much so that we will be giving this restaurant a wide berth from now on.

An absolutely wonderful evening at L'Osteria Dortmund! The pizza—huge, crispy, and full of flavor—is simply unbeatable. But what really made the visit special was Gigi. With her charming manner, attentiveness, and infectious smile, she didn't just serve us, she spoiled us. Thank you, Gigi—you were the centerpiece of the evening. We'll definitely be back!

Review – L’Osteria I recently went to L’Osteria and had a pizza there – and I have to say: It was a thoroughly enjoyable visit! The pizza was huge, crispy, and absolutely delicious – exactly what you'd expect from L’Osteria. A special shout-out goes to Gigi, our waitress. She was extremely friendly, attentive, and provided genuine service. Despite the full house, she was always in a good mood, served our tables quickly, and always had a smile. You could tell she was passionate about her job. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience – delicious food and great service. I'll definitely be back!

This is definitely the best L'Osteria in Dortmund. The pizza sizes are still the same as before; at other restaurants, the pizzas have shrunk. Everything was delicious, served quickly, and the staff was very friendly. You get more than enough for a normal price. I'll be happy to come back.

Unfortunately, no staff member came to us, even though we turned around and looked toward the bar. The staff were more engaged in private conversations than paying attention to us. It was a shame, so we just left.

In 2025, in a fairly large city, it’s surprising when a waiter doesn’t speak any English. Another waiter, who was very kind and spoke English, ended up serving our table — but this led to long waits, as he seemed to be the only one able to help. Staff didn’t seem to notice that we were dining with two children, and service was generally slow. First of the starter was served after the main course, which was unusual. When we ordered dessert, it took a long time to be served, probably because it had started to rain, and the staff were busy moving everything inside, and many guests wanted to pay. Coffee was served, but the desserts were forgotten. The food was OK.

The biggest pizza I've ever eaten... DELICIOUS 😋 🍕

Unfortunately, it's much too loud for me. The music drowns out every conversation, and the guests talk louder as a result. This level of noise stressed me out, and I left immediately after dinner. Unfortunately, it wasn't a relaxing restaurant experience for me.

I ordered a pizza here through Wolt and received an ice-cold one. I didn't get a receipt either. I tried to get a (partial) refund through Wolt, but I didn't get a refund.

Carlito Alcaraz and I had a wonderful evening with a great atmosphere and an incredibly good Nduja Calabrese. Gigi, our waitress, was also really friendly, and we got along really well with her! We'd love to come back :)

We recently ate pizza at L'Osteria. The pizza is top-notch, as at every L'Osteria! Unfortunately, this restaurant seems a bit crowded. However, the staff is trying hard. I can imagine it can get quite busy due to the high volume of customers. I don't recommend visiting during peak hours.

A wonderful place, with exceptionally friendly service. The spaghetti with red wine was delicious. The Lugado wine was first-rate. The carbonara was different from the Italian version, creamier, but still amazing.

Amazing Pizzas! Best relation price/quality

The service is completely inattentive. Orders aren't taken at first and then forgotten, something she only noticed after 30 minutes. When asked about it, there's no apology, just an outrageous response. The waitress, however, had enough time to take a quick photo of the freshly made lemonade. As a waiter or waitress, you should be concerned with your guests first, not with Instagram and the like.

Went there as part of a company outing. Very friendly service, who responded quickly and efficiently. It's rare for 22 people to have almost everything arrive at the same time, and that's fantastic. The food was delicious. My pizza could have been a bit more toppings, but that didn't affect the final rating. The dessert was a bit overpriced and can't compare to a real Italian restaurant. Still, the best rating possible.

One of my favorite restaurants in Dortmund. Good service, reasonable prices. You're always served friendly – ​​with a smile. And what's especially important to me: The dirty dishes are always cleared from the table in a timely manner. The restaurant is clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. You always get tips and support. I usually order pasta there, but unfortunately, I once tried a vegan pizza – and I didn't particularly like it. The vegan meat on the pizza could perhaps be prepared differently – perhaps seared or marinated. It's something to experiment with. Nevertheless, I'm overall very satisfied with the restaurant and will keep coming back – for my beloved pasta. I love going there with my boyfriend or family, just eating and enjoying the atmosphere. The interior design is very creative and harmonious. Even the different pieces of furniture somehow fit together well. A truly beautiful restaurant!

2 stars, but only because the pizza was delicious. Dirty tables, long waits, even for drinks. Ordering a second drink wasn't even possible. Many tables around us simply left after waiting a while because they weren't served. Full ashtrays, just disgusting. And the location is also rather mediocre, with some really strange characters wandering around.

The food was delicious. However, the portion was outrageous. For 15 euros, 12 measly tortellini with a little sauce. That wouldn't even feed a child.

The pizza wasn't cooked well, and the meat was raw. Despite the exorbitant prices, the taste and quality were very poor. Unfortunately, a rating below one star isn't possible. I can't recommend this restaurant.

There were two of us there, and it was really great. Very friendly staff, incredibly delicious food, and we didn't have to wait long. Neither for the drinks nor for the food. We both had a pasta dish, and it was truly delicious. We're very satisfied and will come back next time we're in Dortmund.

I was extremely disappointed with my visit to L'Osteria Dortmund. We ordered two beers and politely asked for tap water, as I've done without any problems at other L'Osteria branches. However, the waitress (a blonde woman in a white T-shirt) rudely stated that tap water is only served with an espresso—a completely absurd and unprofessional statement. Later, another waiter brought our beers and also had tap water on his tray. When I asked, he confirmed that tap water was available. However, the waitress had already decided to bring us the smallest possible bottle of water for €2.50 instead, even though we had specifically asked for tap water. The service was not only rude but also completely inconsistent. The sad thing is: If the waitress had simply responded kindly and brought us tap water, we would have happily tipped, as always. But because of her behavior, others didn't receive any tips either. This is the direct consequence of poor customer service. If I come back again, I won't tip. I come for the food, not to argue about a glass of water. Very disappointing experience in Dortmund.

The food is excellent, always tastes good, and is prepared with love. The ingredients are fresh and high-quality, which is to be expected at this price. A few points that might not be for everyone: the ambiance is generally really nice, but it's very loud due to the large number of customers and the music. It's also really warm and sometimes stuffy inside if the windows aren't open. My recommendation: If possible, sit outside or near a door/window and reserve a table in advance, as it does get quite busy. Reservations aren't mandatory, but I highly recommend it.

Our order simply never arrived. The lady who was supposed to serve us served the tables that arrived after us first – they already received and finished their food while we were still waiting. What's the point of good taste or quality if you can't even get the food or if the service is that poor? One more thing: As long as the older, blond-haired waitress with her discriminatory behavior works there, I will never visit this restaurant again and cannot recommend it to anyone reading this review. If you are not "German," please do not expect fair service. Our order never arrived. The lady who was supposed to serve us took orders from other tables who sat down after us, and they even received and finished their meals while we were still waiting. What's the point of good taste or quality if you can't even get the chance to eat, or if the service is that poor?
