We were there before a concert. The employee at the entrance looked rather dismissive when we asked for a table for two without a reservation. He went to a colleague, and they both shook their heads. I was already mentally considering where else we could go. Then he came back and asked the next two men behind us. They also wanted a table for two, also without a reservation, and he shook his head again. He went to his colleague once more and suggested we sit at a table for four, but we only had an hour. Since we didn't plan on staying long, it was fine with us. Otherwise, we would have left after that strange greeting. The four of us ordered two pizzas, a lasagna, and I had the scampi with mushrooms on pumpkin. Our drinks arrived after 25 minutes; it's worth mentioning that not all the tables were occupied. After 40 minutes, our food arrived—well, almost—the lasagna turned into spaghetti a olio. So, back to the kitchen we went, and our table neighbor was waiting for his food again. My meals were more like pumpkin soup—basically just pureed pumpkin with mushrooms and scampi on top. Not very flavorful, and to be honest, the presentation wasn't great either. The pizzas had very thin crusts but tasted good. After we'd finished our three meals, the lasagna for the fourth person finally arrived. We watched him eat, and the waiter was practically standing next to the table, constantly checking his watch. We sat at a long table with one extra seat in between before more concertgoers arrived. There were plenty of free tables in the restaurant itself to give us one for just the two of us, but they apparently didn't want to. The service left something to be desired, and we wondered how long it would take to get a drink if the place were packed. Next time, we'll find a different restaurant in Dortmund.

The pizza was delicious, and if I'd had another evening, I would have also tried the deliciously fragrant truffle pasta.

The ambiance is very inviting and chic, and the restaurant has an overall upscale feel. The service matches this – attentive and stylishly dressed. In keeping with the style of the establishment, there was a welcome from the kitchen. Unfortunately, we weren't entirely impressed with the food: the vitello tonnato had too much of a mayonnaise-like sauce for our taste, and the pizza was a bit dry. Given the great ambiance, the price-performance ratio is overall okay. The bottom line is that it's hard to rate the experience: the food would be more in line with three stars, but the service and atmosphere were top-notch.

The food was really good. But what happened to us was unacceptable. We had reserved a table for 6:30 p.m. We arrived a few minutes early. The receptionist showed us to a table, telling us we had until 8:00 p.m. So far, so good. At 7:30 p.m., the receptionist came over, tapped me on the shoulder, and told us we had to vacate the table immediately. The next customers were already waiting 15 minutes for that table. Honestly, that's unacceptable. According to their logic, we only had 45 minutes to eat?! Sorry, but that's no way to treat guests. That was the last time I'll ever eat there. The only reason I'm giving it one star is because of this way we were "kicked out." The food and the service at the table were good.

We had made a reservation for a Saturday evening - after 10 minutes we still hadn't gotten a table because the restaurant was overcrowded - very disappointing!!!

The food took forever, and when it finally arrived, the lasagna was burnt on top. To top it all off, the service was rude. Overall, our visit was very disappointing. A real Italian restaurant, packed house, almost like Oktoberfest... I'm here for the ARTe art fair, right next to Hall 1 beside the Westfalenhalle.

Very delicious food. From the appetizers to the dessert, everything was excellent.

The food isn't cheap, but it was tasty. Unfortunately, the drinks are, in my opinion, overpriced. My orange juice tasted like colored water, and juice isn't cheap. The service wasn't up to par either. When a few more people arrived, we waited 20 minutes just for the menu to order dessert after dinner, and after ordering, another 20 minutes for the dessert itself, which didn't need to be cooked, just plated and served.

Despite a spontaneous visit after a Borussia Dortmund home game, we easily got a table for three. The service was fast and very attentive. The pizza was top-quality and highly recommended. Due to the size of the room, it was quite loud—but completely understandable after a home game. On quieter days, it's definitely more relaxed here.

I had reserved a table outside, but it was full. Then we were seated inside at a table for two. The tables are so close together that you hardly dare to talk because your neighbor can hear you. The service was very unfriendly. The shouting there is completely unacceptable...we were glad to get out.

I can definitely recommend it, but it's also geared toward larger groups, so it's quite busy and a bit louder. The staff is very well-organized and friendly.

The two of us were there on September 8, 2025, and arrived around 4:15 p.m. We felt UNWELCOME from the very beginning. No smile from the waitress, just a reminder that we should leave by 5:30 p.m. Since we weren't familiar with the area, we stayed and waited almost an hour for a pizza. Conclusion: unfriendly, unprofessional, never again.

Due to an unfortunate circumstance, we ate at Ciccio's today. After trying a nearby burger joint, we arrived hungry. We received a friendly welcome and were seated right away. The service was quick and very attentive and friendly. The pleasant ambiance made the short wait for our food more pleasant. And the food was delicious. We would eat here again anytime.

The food was okay, but the portion size was very manageable. The service was, unfortunately, a complete failure. It started with an annoyed escort to the table. The next item was the drinks order. Two people were sitting at the table. Person 1 ordered theirs, Person 2 was completely ignored and had to shout their drink order to the waiter as they left. The whole thing had a touch of mass production. Empty plates were constantly being cleared away impatiently in front of our noses, and questions about whether we could have another drink or dessert were clearly not in the server's best interest. Hopefully, the guest would leave faster, which was confirmed with a brief "thank you" upon payment. Goodbye? Thank you for your visit? Nope. The service had absolutely no Italian hospitality. The food was okay, but it in no way compensated for the impersonal, superficial service.

We were there in the afternoon before a concert. The pizza was quite good. However, we would have liked to try something from the huge antipasti counter. We sat outside, which was cozy. The only disappointing thing was the service. The man with the spiky hair only came when asked, but he never really looked at us. He wasn't very friendly either. It's a shame, but all in all, it was okay.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't as tasty as hoped, and the strips of beef fillet with chanterelle mushrooms in a cream and mustard sauce were quickly gone. It was an unpleasant return trip. The ambiance is very nice, parking is difficult, and the service is very attentive and friendly.

Prices are higher than elsewhere, service is unfriendly, and the pasta is mediocre. Check your receipts, because you might find things you didn't order or in a different capacity.

We tried to reserve a table on the website. They gave us a standard "We'll get back to you" response. When we still hadn't received a confirmation after three days, we called again. Then we got the confirmation. There's no parking on a Saturday night anyway. A large restaurant, live music, lots and lots of tables. No one wanted to know if we had a reservation. We were shown to a table. We ordered drinks and chose our meal from a clear menu. We were served warm bread with a dip beforehand. The food, a salad, and a pizza, arrived relatively quickly. The noise level increased with the number of guests, as everything is very open. The food was average in taste and slightly above average in price. We probably won't be back.

Authentic Italian, very good food

Italian lunch break – and the right way! Ciccio's is our new insider tip for a lunch break where you briefly forget that you actually have to work. We had the lunch special – and what can we say: Authentic Italian food, lovingly served, and served faster than you can say "Buon appetito." We started with a small salad and bruschetta, both fresh and well-seasoned. Then came pizza Napoli (with anchovies and olives – as it should be!) and a pasta dish with cream and bacon, straight from the Italian soul food department. Taste-wise: molto bene! Particularly commendable: The service was attentive, friendly, and even kept up with the pace of the courses – no stress, no waiting, but also no "Here comes the next plate while I'm still chewing." Just right. The only minor drawback (but not a point deduction!): The baguette, which came with the truly delicious tuna cream, was a bit underwhelming in terms of flavor. Maybe it was just jealous of the rest of the food 😄. Finally, an espresso – short, strong, Italian. Just the way it should be. In conclusion: If you're looking for a true Italian feel during your lunch break, Ciccio's is the place to be. We'll be back. And not just because we fell in love with the bruschetta. 🇮🇹

We've been enjoying Ciccio's for many years. We've tried a variety of dishes, all of which were delicious. The prices are reasonable. We've always found the staff to be friendly and attentive, even when it was very busy. The ambiance inside is pleasant, and the painted ceiling is a real eye-catcher. We can't comment on the outside area; we've never sat there. The only downside: for someone with mobility issues, finding the restrooms (which are supposed to be very clean) is a challenge, as they can only be reached via a staircase. Our conclusion: We definitely recommend it.👍 It would be a good idea to reserve a table in advance and, if you're coming by car, allow some time to find a parking space.

For the second year in a row, we were guests at Ciccio's Restaurant. We attended a major conference and dined at Ciccio's in the evening. Because of the conference, the restaurant was packed, and the waiters were very busy. We received a very friendly welcome, and the service was perfect. The wait wasn't too long—under the circumstances mentioned above—in fact, it was quite quick. The food was good and there was a pleasant atmosphere. A compliment to the kitchen and the waiters; everything ran smoothly, despite the large number of guests. The atmosphere among the staff was great, and we were able to spend several pleasant evenings with them. Thank you again for your professional and friendly service. We look forward to being your guest again next year when we are in Dortmund.

This is a truly fantastic Italian restaurant! I was completely impressed. The food was incredibly delicious. The service was authentic, very friendly, and attentive. The ambiance was very appealing and stylish. We felt completely at home. It's just a shame I'm not from the area; if I were, I would definitely go there more often. The next time I have the chance, this restaurant will be my first choice!

Beware of large groups! They tend to charge for dishes twice! Not right. It's happened twice already. Very noticeable - so even though the staff was nice, I left feeling sad. Be careful ⚠️

A large, charming Italian restaurant with delicious food. Even larger groups can easily accommodate and enjoy their meals together. We enjoyed the pizza, lasagna, and panna cotta. The service was friendly and efficient. Special requests were fully accommodated. Prices are mid-range. The opening hours are good, but the restaurant is closed on Sundays. Unfortunately, there's no Coca-Cola on offer. The interior doesn't seem to be air-conditioned, but there are several pleasant, shaded outdoor areas. As city dwellers, the adjacent main road didn't bother us. Parking is difficult. Card payments accepted.

The food tasted good, nothing to complain about. However, I think the prices are too high for pizza and pasta, even if they taste exactly the same as at other good pizzerias. It didn't necessarily taste any better. I can't comment on the meat and fish dishes. The restaurant was very, very busy at 6 p.m., and the waiters were naturally very busy as well. It was way too loud! Unfortunately, it was very difficult to have a conversation, and the back of the restaurant is so crowded with tables and chairs that if you want to go to the bathroom, you end up having unwanted physical contact with almost every guest because you have to squeeze through the narrow aisle.

i had a steak, sauce, cabbage with carrots and crisp potatos. tasted really good. steak done good, its was roasted on both sides which is good. potatos tasted good and some crisp tho could be a little bit more crisp. there was missing salt/peper/seasoning on the steak and potatos, tho can put it on yourself so its fine. great service, friendly people. the tone in the room was nice, tho room for improvements.

What a great pizza I ate today 🍕. I had an arugula pizza. It was crispy, but not too crispy. It was generously topped with Parmesan and arugula. I also ordered salami. It tasted amazing and I'd definitely order it again next time! Highly recommended!!!

Nice shop, and pleasant to sit in the first room. There is a train station atmosphere in the large one. 3 stars only because we had to clear the table after 60 minutes for the next guests. We know hospitality differently.

We were there in the afternoon before an event in the Westfalenhalle. The restaurant was well attended and reservations are recommended. Service was top, as were the pizzas. The atmosphere is more like a check-in hall, it seems very stressful. I would visit it again to eat reasonably and at normal prices.

We arrived at 5.30pm on recommendation and were surprised by the ambiance inside. No matter the ceiling or the beautifully set tables. A waiter brought the 2 of us to a table for 2 and the table waiter was attentive. What I found very nice was that when my husband asked, he got his favorite pizza, Four Seasons, from the pizza baker. Thank you. The answer from the table waiter was: "If we can make the wish possible, then it will be fulfilled." The food was delicious 😋 and the pizza was very large. Paying in cash wasn't a problem either.

There were three of us on a Saturday evening and we each had a starter, main course and dessert. All dishes were tasty and attractively presented. The dessert variations for 2 people could be larger. The overall price level is already high. The service staff is quick and the courses were served quickly and at the same time, but a little more time with the guest would be nicer. Things got better towards the end of our visit and with fewer guests, but at the beginning it didn't seem inviting. The table positioning is catastrophic, the neighboring table was about 20 cm away, so that you had the impression that there were 5 people sitting at the table and not 3 people. Due to the high frequency of the restaurant, it was extremely loud and restless. We would come back for the kitchen at any time, the service and atmosphere can be improved at the price level. Therefore, unfortunately not the first choice for us if we wanted an Italian evening.

The food was okay, what can you expect from a pizza at an Italian restaurant. But the restaurant was to crowded, the tables are 5cm from each other. So not a lot of room for a bit of private conversations. And the que was amazing to get in, the couple behind us had a table much sooner than we had. And we even had a reservation at 1830 and we got a table just after 1845.

Food was good, but simple. Restaurant was full and service was a bit overloaded. Otherwise ok.

Great selection of food and drinks in a spacious setting. Plenty of outdoor room when the weather is warm, which is a plus. Service was a bit lacking, but got the job done.

Ate once on site, food good but expensive. Then ordered to be picked up. Out of 3 pizzas 2 were wrong, after changing it still cost €21.50 for a margarita!!!! settled and received a bottle of water as “compensation”. Impudence!

We stopped here for lunch on a spontaneous visit to Dortmund. There was a very good seafood pasta, very nice service, and everything was okay in terms of price. We will definitely come back on our next visit.

There were two of us in the restaurant at 12:35 p.m. The ambience was once again very appealing. The friendly, Italian service went out of its way to ensure that we as guests had a pleasant stay in the restaurant. Our freshly prepared dishes left nothing to be desired. This Italian restaurant is definitely highly recommended as it is located in the middle of the city of Dortmund.
