A classic self-service beer garden. The yeast dumpling was filled with strawberry jam, which I personally found difficult to get used to. Otherwise, just Wannsee prices. Restrooms are only available below the restaurant, and you have to walk a few steps.

I was there again recently, the previous one was at least two years ago. I had a pork schnitzel with fries, my son had cheese spaetzle, and my wife had liver sausage with coleslaw. I didn't like the schnitzel very much. The deep-fried breading was still slightly moist, making it seem a bit mushy. It also had a strange, slightly rancid taste. The fries were okay, though, and nicely crispy. I also tried the cheese spaetzle. I found them too dry. They should have been much softer, and the cheese should make them pull slightly when you pick them up with a fork. The onion flavor was there, but I would have preferred more homemade fried onions and fewer, or even none at all, of the dry, ready-made fried onions. The liver sausage was okay. I really should have complained about the schnitzel.

Beautiful beer garden on the Wannsee. It's a bit odd sitting in the Paulanergarten as a Bavarian in Berlin, but the atmosphere definitely comes across well. Dogs are welcome, there's plenty of space, and the food is delicious.

We ate there with eight people on the covered terrace (with waitress service). The menu wasn't exactly focused on Bavarian cuisine, which is what you'd expect. Some of the food was lukewarm to cold, the fried potatoes were soggy, and the hamburger was a disaster. We've never had such a bad "Backhändle" (a kind of fried sausage) before! Everything was very poorly presented. And: The value for money is absolutely terrible! All in all, a total disaster for a bill of over €200.00!!! Never again. There are better beer gardens in Berlin, including ones with a water view and authentic Bavarian cuisine. (Check out the imprint and the branches of the operating companies)...

I was there at 12:30 p.m. They open at 11 a.m., and the lunch specials weren't ready yet, so I had two currywursts with fries and a large beer, which came to €22. I think that's way too expensive. The fries weren't in the fryer long enough, and when you walk to the outer tables with your tray, it's a balancing act on the loose gravel. If that doesn't bother you, I can recommend it! 😂😂😂

The atmosphere and staff were very nice, but unfortunately, my veal goulash came with about three small pieces of veal and 20 mushrooms with the spaetzle, which weren't mentioned on the menu at all. So, half the meal had to be returned. It was a very small portion for €24, too. A shame.

The beer garden didn't score highly in terms of food quality at this event either. Although it was a Thai Rice Festival from August 23rd to 25th, 2025, I didn't taste any of the advertised Thai flavors. Quite the opposite: it was so boring, and the chicken noodle dish had a rather off-flavor. The price of €10 for that was completely excessive, and €5 for a Thai beer was relatively reasonable. The stage program could also be debated, but as we all know, everyone has different tastes. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with what was otherwise a good idea.

I can't really give the service a ⭐️ because Loretta am Wannsee only offers self-service. 😉 Otherwise: great atmosphere of a Bavarian beer garden under tall oak trees, with a beautiful view of Lake Wannsee. The chicken is okay (depending on the time of day and the crowd, sometimes a bit dry, which can lead to an increased consumption of ketchup and/or mayo 😝), the fries are always fresh and crispy. General rule: They simply can't make Leberkäse (liver sausage) and pretzels in Berlin. You'd have to go south of Thuringia for that! Beers are freshly bought, prices are okay.

We've been regulars since the move from Lietzenburger Straße to Wannsee. We were very happy that it continued last year. Yesterday, Sunday evening, we tried again with two simple dishes. Half a grilled chicken and a currywurst with French fries. Both dishes were almost cold, only the fries were okay. The sausages were piled high on the probably cold charcoal grill. They had just come out of the fryer, were pale and oily. When I ordered the grilled chicken, the cooks looked at each other, and I could see them shaking their heads. The broiler was barely moving. It was almost cold, and the skin wasn't crispy. The two dishes together cost €25. The non-alcoholic draft beer and the Aperol Spritz were good (€13). Bottom line: the staff are probably afraid of the heat and turn off all the equipment early. Last night, however, it was only 23 degrees. We'll be back, but only for drinks.

So, I've known Loretta am Wannsee for ages and am very happy that it's staying put. For me, it was almost like it used to be. There have been a few renovations, but the charm has remained. The view is wonderful, the drinks are made quickly. The requested food was out, but the alternative was also delicious. Prices are completely reasonable for such a beautiful place. The live music wasn't my thing, but that's how people like it... For me, it was another beautiful summer evening. Oh, the toilets are fine to walk to when your stomach is full of food ;) and I think a little change for the cleaner is a must. Loretta am Wannsee! The classic restaurant on the Wannsee near the steamer pier! Well-known for many years and a favorite whenever the sun comes out! Pros: It's great to sit outside, a bit away from the road, yet still be able to see the boats and steamers and the Wannsee. Theoretically appealing cuisine and refreshing drinks. Cons: Mass processing. Leberkas (salted pork loin) and baked potatoes were served COLD, which is unacceptable -> 1 star. Pretzels were good but expensive. The prices are generally high, too high for what's on offer! For several years now, Loretta has been only average in terms of price/performance. Since people/tourists are flocking to the place, quality seems to be secondary. New guests are always coming here anyway! Can we recommend the garden restaurant? No. Would we come again? We come here about ONCE a year...and although we're full at the end, we've not been enthusiastic about Loretta for a long time!

WEITERE KOMMENTARE IN Google

Almost a year after reopening, the ambiance remains the special something of Loretta am Wannsee. The service was okay, and the draft pilsner was well chilled. Unfortunately, the veal schnitzel with warm potato salad, for around €30, falls significantly short. Visually appealing, but unfortunately dry, tough, and bland. Presumably, this schnitzel wasn't personally pounded and breaded on-site, or at least, you couldn't hear it through the open kitchen door. This doesn't create the usual anticipation of the veal schnitzel soon to be served. Compared to the veal schnitzel from the Bernsteiners at Spinnerbrücke or Krumme Lanke, it unfortunately doesn't stand a chance in terms of price and quality. Maybe go for a refresher course... Good luck for the future! I'll try the beer garden again when I get the chance; it looks exciting with its new roof. I won't visit the restaurant again. I was full, but it really wasn't good.

Even one star is too much! 1. Dried-out pretzels 2. Over-salted Leberkäse (meatloaf) 3. Dry, tasteless, industrial-style Obazda (traditional German sausage) 4. A disaster for people with walking disabilities using a walker on the coarse gravel. No way to move without assistance. 5. Restrooms so far away, you have to walk downhill almost to the exit. Tourist trap! It may have once been nice and delicious here, but apparently the food is a matter of trepidation. What a shame. Those who like it will love the garden, but those who appreciate a good beer will probably have to look elsewhere. Otherwise, it has more the charm of a self-service canteen. The service leaves much to be desired. The beer garden opens at 12 p.m. My father and I arrived at 1 p.m. to eat. While ordering, we had to search for a slotted spoon and a fork. The server didn't know what the side dish was for the grilled knuckle of pork. While we were ordering, the cashier noticed that the mustard couldn't be pumped out of the mustard bucket. They didn't follow up. It stayed that way. There's just no mustard. The chef was unfriendly, both to the staff and the customers. The value for money is definitely NOT right. My father's grilled knuckle of pork was dry, tough, difficult to cut, and couldn't be separated from the bone, and then it cost €25 with the side dishes. I don't even want to mention the side dishes. My schnitzel was dry, and the fries were soggy. I definitely can't and don't want to recommend this beer garden to anyone.

Today was a day as it should be: pleasant, sometimes sunny, sometimes cloudy, with pleasant temperatures around 24 degrees! So I set out to visit a familiar place I've known since childhood: the Loretta beer garden on the Wannsee! Easy to reach by public transport! Either by bus, S-Bahn, or your own car! Of course, a lot has changed! But the wonderful large, shady trees are still there, as are the 40 steps from the entrance to the benches in the garden! And of course, the view of Lake Wannsee! But unfortunately, only from two narrow parts of the beer garden! There is a concrete ramp for wheelchair users, but you can't reach the destination under your own steam!! Service has been completely converted to self-service, because who these days can find employees willing to lug heavy, fully loaded trays for little money in the summer heat, only to be yelled at for having to wait "for hours"?? The food selection has also been reduced, but bratwurst and currywurst are always good, and the "Leberkäse" or meatloaf is a perennial favorite, as is half a chicken!!! Today wasn't a day of pushing and shoving, and I didn't notice any complaining guests or scowling service staff! And anyone who confuses a beer garden, where everything is casual and uncomplicated, with an exquisite restaurant where every guest is escorted to their table by the chef, is beyond help, and their judgment is irrelevant! Next to the beer garden at the intersection, there's also the Restaurant Loretta, or more accurately, the "Kneipen-Restaurant Loretta." Here, you'll find good, home-style cooking, two dining rooms downstairs, and a large dining room up the small staircase! The staff serve at your table and are pleasant and friendly! I ordered a homemade Kaiserschmarren and almost fell off my chair when it arrived: a portion for three!!! There was nothing wrong with the Kaiserschmarren, it's just that it was just good craftsmanship! If I want excellent Kaiserschmarren, I have to go to an excellent (but also several times more expensive) restaurant in the capital (for example, "Einstein Unter den Linden")! So: you can only compare like with like!!! Otherwise, this place is still well-suited for families looking for a carefree day, or groups who just want to enjoy a good draft beer!!!

Overpriced and sometimes bad food, but a nice atmosphere and attentive staff. The so-called salmon sandwich for €13.90 consists of a slice of bread with salmon topping, the croissants for €6.90 were three overcooked mini croissants, the scrambled eggs for €10.90 came with feta cheese in the pan, and the classic pancakes for €9.50 were three palm-sized pancakes with maple syrup. If you want a drink in good weather and a beautiful view, this is definitely a good place, but you might want to consider an alternative for breakfast.

A beautiful beer garden located high up. Typical of a beer garden, it's self-service. There's a small playground (more suited to children up to 5 or 6 years old). Prices are okay, but it's not cheap. You have to walk a bit to the restrooms, which is okay, but it's a shame they're closing along with the bar.

The food offered in the beer garden is nothing short of gastronomic outrage! Dried-out schnitzels and poultry with soggy side dishes and soggy salads... It's simply a disgrace to charge for this!

The view of Lake Wannsee is beautiful. The noise level is a bit high, but you can still have a conversation. There's no table service, so you have to take care of your own needs. This isn't necessarily a negative, but it actually has its advantages. The system works. The restroom is less convincing. It's a bit farther away and hardly wheelchair accessible. That's unfortunate. The prices are quite high. For example, a beer costs €5.50, and a mediocre currywurst with greasy fries costs €10.50. Neither particularly impressive in terms of taste nor appearance. The beer could also be a bit colder. What's left? A beautiful view, shady and sunny spots, and a pleasant atmosphere. But also the negative points mentioned above. It's definitely recommended for a beer, but not for a longer stay.

It was quite okay. Classic beer garden fare. Update: July 5, 2025: It's been made worse, at least as far as the food goes. I'm a bit shocked: old, dried-out Obadzda (a kind of fried sausage) and a dry pretzel for 8 (!) euros. I didn't find the rest of the menu particularly appealing either. Expensive, too. No, sorry Loretta, not like that! 😕 I left hungry; that dried-out stuff seemed too risky...

The beer garden atmosphere above Wannsee is truly beautiful, BUT: The food is a disgrace, self-service cafeteria fare at restaurant prices. The currywurst is a bonsai specimen and the cheese spaetzle are carelessly slapped onto the plate, with no garnish (tomato slices, cucumber pieces, parsley, etc.) other than the fried onions from a bag. Definitely not a second visit.

The beer garden is still one of the most beautiful in the city, with a view over Lake Wannsee. The new operator has significantly improved the beer garden area, adding a playground, a small petting zoo, and more. But: The food is unacceptable. Very expensive, but the ingredients and preparation are cheap. Completely unambitious and misses the (actual) target audience. Please put more effort into this, and you'll win over the locals. A clear decline from the already not-so-good predecessor. I didn't visit the separate restaurant of the same name. But the beer garden experience doesn't whet your appetite for more from the kitchen team.

I've rarely eaten so badly! What a shame about the location and what a waste of money!

It's a shame about the location. Unfriendly staff across the board. The food is slapped onto plates like in a prison cafeteria. The prices are outrageous for the quality. Chicken for €15 is dry as a shoe sole and inedible. Cheap ketchup. The new owner seems to have one goal: maximize profits and then close down. Why is the restaurant industry in Berlin getting worse and worse?

It's great that the beer garden is open again. A large part of the front area has been roofed over, which works well thanks to the rustic seating. The rest is as it was. It's a shame the Alpine hut is no longer there... a playground has been built there instead. The prices are still reasonable - the food is okay.

I was there last Monday with colleagues. The restaurant is in a great location, but the food on offer unfortunately doesn't live up to it. When I ordered my food, a customer came in and very politely informed the waiter that the sauerkraut was no longer good and could not be sold any more. It was a Monday and a half, about 30 degrees outside. The person just wanted to let us know and didn't even ask for a refund. The kitchen staff thanked us and apparently called the chef to the front. He didn't even try the sauerkraut, just chatted with the staff and then disappeared back to the back. The sauerkraut was NOT removed, but remained on the sales counter. That's completely unacceptable, we won't be back, what a shame!

Unfortunately, our team visit for breakfast (approximately 20 people) was a huge disappointment! Despite a prior reservation, there weren't enough seats at one table, so we had to sit scattered around the terrace. The portions were very small, and instead of the appealing breakfast menu, we were served only scrambled eggs. No one in our group enjoyed or liked the breakfast. Overall, it was a disappointing experience that we can't recommend.

Loretta's is open again, and that's a good thing. The food is just like in a beer garden, but the seating is really nice. They have a great, spacious roof over the food and drink counter. A must-visit when you're at Wannsee.

I was looking forward to a cold shandy. What was served was a sweet swill made of something with orange and a drop of beer. Never again.

Great beer garden under the trees with a view of Lake Wannsee. Prices are a bit on the high side. The food could be more typical of a beer garden... but it has potential.

The Chinese pan-fried food tastes incredibly good here ♥️ with beef and various coffee flavors. I was here with two people a few weeks ago and it was good. I had to drive a long way to visit here. The staff were very competent and very friendly. I highly recommend coming here. Best regards, Adonis
