Great medieval-themed "event" dining. However, you're buying more of an experience than the food itself. To explain: The ambiance is great, beautifully decorated, with comfortable seating and fitting music. The service was excellent. Attentive, articulate, and very friendly. And the food was good. But nothing more. I was hoping for more traditional or period-appropriate dishes. The appetizer platter was okay, as were the burgers. I've had better elsewhere. But it just didn't fit the restaurant's style. I think there's a lot of potential here.

This was our second visit, and we weren't disappointed either time. It definitely won't be our last. Both times, the food was plentiful and delicious. Whether it was the appetizer, main course, or dessert, everything was a true culinary delight. The staff are passionate about their work and fully committed to their roles. Everyone is friendly, efficient, and attentive. Whether the dining room upstairs or in the basement, both are very stylish and thematically decorated. It's simply a wonderful experience. We're already looking forward to our visit in December.

The barman really gets into his role There was plenty of fun to be had with the feast. All in all, the only question that remains is, when will we come back? Not if - when. We're already counting down the days. 👆 But now for the review. No rhyme, just a factual account... We've been there twice in a short period of time. And regardless of whether the place is just opening (first visit) or already buzzing (second visit), the staff is attentive, quick, and professional. Especially since everyone there is passionate about what they do. The first time we were in the upstairs dining room, this time we got a table downstairs. And what can I say? Both rooms are an experience. Lovingly detailed and thematically designed. A truly relaxing atmosphere, I'd say. We certainly attracted attention in our period costumes, but who cares? The staff were delighted, and the other guests had something to look at. That's the blessing and curse of social media: you attract a lot of people who aren't really into the topic. 😁 But now for the most important part – the feast. We largely stuck to what we ordered on our first visit and weren't disappointed. Generous portions, well-seasoned and flavorful. Served in style on slate, drinks in earthenware mugs, pitchers, or drinking horns. All in all, another wonderful experience, and we're already looking forward to our next visit in December!

A cool place to feel like medieval plebs in a tavern for a moment. The burgers are really tasty and were prepared quickly. The service is very friendly and attentive. I was there three years ago and can say that everything has held up very well so far.

A beautiful restaurant with a special medieval flair. Reservations are required for dinner, as the restaurant gets busy.

Well, we can't say anything about the food because we weren't even given the opportunity. My partner and I drove all the way to Cologne just so we could eat there. We requested a table at 6:00 PM, and were offered a table at 5:30 PM... we were already on our way there, only to be told that the table had already been booked "on the spot" due to a mistake. We still didn't get our 6:00 PM table... driving so far for nothing, what a shame... Addendum: Well, we didn't receive a call asking if we were coming. We called after receiving an email canceling the reservation. And if a table at 5:30 PM or 6:00 PM is given or offered, we assume we'll get it. And we would have gotten it anyway, so I don't understand the argument that you have to make reservations weeks in advance. Apparently, it wouldn't have been necessary, especially if "on the spot" guests are accepted, but not those who had reserved a table. It didn't even take us an hour to respond...it was maybe 40 minutes before we could come. If so many guests were coming to you spontaneously and you had to make reservations weeks in advance, then I think it would have been okay for us to respond after 40 minutes...especially since it wasn't stated anywhere that you had to respond within a certain time or you'd lose the spot. They could have called us a second time before canceling by email. However, you can't check emails every minute or answer your cell phone immediately. You say you didn't want to risk losing money if we suddenly didn't show up, but since you seem to have a lot of guests coming to you, as you say, you could have still booked the table spontaneously if we hypothetically hadn't come. And as I said, we usually assume that if communication and a reservation have already been made, we'll get the table. We've never had such problems with table reservations before, not even in other busy restaurants, and I don't think that should happen. I didn't consider my message an "angry letter," and it wasn't meant that way. But of course we were disappointed. I didn't give the 1* for the food, but for the service; I made that clear in my review, and of course, I didn't include the rest. Thanks for the explanation anyway.

If you're into medieval times, this is the place for you. The waiters live the Middle Ages, complete with their pompous language and, of course, their costumes. Costumes are also welcome, and they even provide equipment for great photos. The food is rustic and MEGA delicious.

Truly, a pleasure that is unparalleled. The food and drink are excellent, but the atmosphere is even more magnificent. Stop in here and immerse yourself in another world. The staff quickly puts you in a good mood, making you want to stay longer. We will continue to spread the word about what's happening there and will certainly return. Listen, you noble travelers and gourmets from near and far, This is your faithful court jester, who recently set out with his lovely maiden to the truly magnificent inn "Lord of the Grills" in Cologne-Zollstock. I, a jester on a merry journey, was immediately greeted by the so hearty innkeeper that my little bells almost danced with joy. The lovely innkeeper also proved to be a master of acting and theatrical art—a truly merry couple! The room radiated medieval splendor, as if we had leaped through time. To the table, I, a bold companion, took the legendary dragon eggs, which I thought I had slain myself with much courage and cunning, along with the dragon and all the delicious booty. This was followed by a juicy steak and a mighty burger, so tender and flavorful that even kings would be envious. A truly delightful dessert crowned the feast. I also gorged myself on Viking blood and pine mead, which quenched my thirst admirably. The music and acting made me completely forget that we weren't really living in a bygone era. So I proclaim loudly throughout the land: Whoever wants to experience a meal like in the old days should hurry to this inn – I have rarely been treated to such delicious and cheerful hospitality!

Well done, noble knights and fair maidens! This inn quickly transports guests to days long gone. Torchlight, stone, and the music of musicians create a truly intimate atmosphere. The food is delicious – the meat is tender, the vegetables fresh, and the drink a refreshment for body and soul. The servants serve with great friendliness, so that every guest feels like a nobleman. Anyone who desires to indulge in medieval entertainment and dine exquisitely at the same time will be well served here.

This place stands out from other restaurants with its medieval theme. The interior is stylish and authentic. The cellar could use a bit more knightly decor. The cellar was a bit stuffy, but the acoustics were more pleasant than a crowded brewery. Our server was fully in tune with the place and didn't lose her composure. That was really great. We ended up paying with "Monetomagie" (contactless). What has fallen victim to the mainstream here is the menu. There are salads, burgers, and steak. Not exactly medieval. The burgers we had were consistently really good! The only criticism here, as almost everywhere these days, is the prices. We had a nice evening.

We were there for the first time today, very spontaneously. It was so great there, the ambiance was a 10 out of 10, and the service rounded everything off perfectly. There were five of us, and everyone was very impressed. THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT EXPERIENCE AND FOOD!!!

We've been wanting to go to this medieval grill house for a long time because large groups regularly gather outside, and it looks very inviting from the outside. The steaks and burgers are simply amazing and definitely the signature dish of the place. There were eight of us there, and everyone loved the food...even the vegetarians. The ambiance is absolutely worth highlighting. The way this ancient venue has been restored is fantastic. The old bar has been preserved in its original condition and could truly date back to the Middle Ages. You'd love to spend the whole evening there.

This restaurant is a true experience! The food is extremely delicious and perfectly seasoned. There was hardly any wait time after ordering (max. 15 minutes), and the waiters were perfectly suited to the medieval theme. The ambiance on the ground floor was more designed with furs and "separate" benches, while the basement area is decorated more in a knightly style – everything is truly true to the theme. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're into that style.

For a restaurant permanently operating in a medieval setting, it's very good, but don't expect a classic knight's feast with a lot of showmanship. The steaks are very good, and the food and drink menu is creative and full of attention to detail. Prices are objectively a bit high, but they're OK for the quality, presentation, and ambiance.

The ambiance is fantastic for all medieval fans! The service is equally excellent. It's a must-try experience. The food is also good and reasonably priced. For a burger with a starter, dessert, and a few drinks, I paid just over €40. Which is reasonable for the amount.

The shop captivates with its unique medieval-inspired design, making a visit a memorable experience. The employees are all firmly in their roles, and even if it may seem provocative to some, the style is well-executed, and if you try your hand at the language, it's well-integrated. However, no one will look at you strangely if you stick to standard German. The food on the menu sounds good and has a stimulating description. Unfortunately, my burger wasn't that convincing, and at €23, it was a bit frustrating. It was explicitly too spicy for me, even though it wasn't marked (there was definitely some chili in the sauce), and the burger patties, although very filling, were unfortunately very bland in flavor, and the onion ring was completely overshadowed. I was full, though. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the mead and other flavors are a nice touch for connoisseurs. My dessert was reasonably priced and delicious, but another guest's apple strudel was disappointingly small for €9. All in all, I would only recommend a visit if you're looking for the atmosphere, service, and location based on the theme.

Well then, noble people, hear my news of a place that seems out of this world: the venerable inn "Lord of the Grillz"! We had barely crossed the threshold when we were greeted with most gracious words, as if speaking from ancient times. The servants, dressed in medieval costumes, welcomed us as knights once welcomed their guests to the castle. The halls of the house are decorated with wooden furniture, candlelit, and all manner of ornaments known only from chronicles, accompanied by music to match. The table was lavishly laid: hamburgers so juicy and flavorful that even a hungry dragon could be appeased. French fries as delicious and crispy as a knight's doublet. And lo and behold – alongside the popular drink, mead, delicious chocolate milk was served, along with a cheesecake that was even sweeter than the lovely maiden who served the food. It's truly commendable that even those who abstain from meat can find a variety of dishes here. My lovely companion was delighted by the vegetarian variety, something you'd hardly expect in a grill house. 💰 Payment – Gold or Witchcraft Payment was made with gold coins or with newfangled magic (credit card or NFC), a witchcraft that would astonish even Merlin. I've never experienced so much joy at a meal. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the food was divine, and the ambiance a dream from days gone by. If it were a simple inn, I would have given it five stars – but for the experience we were offered, I'd even pluck a sixth star from the sky. Well done – we'll certainly be back soon! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

It's an experience. The meat is incredibly juicy, the seasoning is just right, and all the ingredients are fresh and carefully selected. You can feel the passion with which each dish was prepared. The service is attentive and offers exactly the kind of warmth you rarely find. We weren't just full, we were inspired. If you're eating in Cologne, you can't miss this place.

The maids and servants of the house were courteous and accommodating, always ready to enhance our well-being. The ambience was supremely harmonious, a harmony of light, sound, and fragrance – and the music fit in like the final jewel in a royal crown. Truly, everything was of the finest quality – a place where heart and stomach rejoice alike! Quaint and cozy—those are probably the appropriate descriptions for this hearty restaurant in the style of knights and bows. The burgers came with black patties, but mind you, not charred, but simply because the dough looks that way. Original and quite tasty, and the price/performance ratio is still decent. We'd happily come back again; in school grades, I'd give it a solid B.

The place offers what people want these days: an experience, entertainment. You can even come in costume. Very authentic atmosphere with great service, the food was delicious. Card payments accepted, parking if you're lucky in the side streets. The only drawback is that it's relatively cramped and quite noisy, but then again, that was the case in medieval taverns ;)

A message to traveling stomachs and hungry wayfarers: Hear, hear! I will tell you of my recent visit to the hospitable house called "Lord of the Grillz," situated on a fragrant road of meat and roasting! When I entered there, plagued by great hunger and tired of wandering, the servants of the house received me with a cheerful spirit and a well-chosen greeting. "Greetings, noble sir!" they called to me – and I immediately felt protected by hospitable walls. The refreshment on a wooden table was immediately served – not divine, but also not accursed. A meal of passable spice, enough to soothe the stomach, but not so sublime that I would fall prey to love over such fare! Imagine it a meal for a peasant and a knight's squire at the same time – not royal, but honest. But – oh gods of amusement! – I was granted a strange pleasure, for anyone unaccustomed to medieval activities might slap their forehead in amazement! I could barely contain my laughter, almost spilling my mead all over my robe, thanks to the fountain of noble tongue! What a spectacle for the palate and soul! So now, my advice to you: If you seek good food and a touch of foolishness and mischief, head to "Lord of the Grillz." But be warned – this is not a place of quiet contemplation, but one where the sizzling of meat and the rejoicing of the servants fill the air! Verdict: Four out of five roasted hams – with a wink and a full belly. Praise be to the spit, and long live the grill!

We got a table for four at short notice. Service was friendly and attentive. The food was a 12/10. The location had a medieval theme. The four of us were thrilled and can highly recommend it. An experience for the whole family and friends.

The ambiance is well-executed. Just something different. The staff are friendly and have a good grasp of the language. Perhaps a bit overly pretentious at times? I just don't quite understand the concept: everything is medieval, and then instead of roast pork and pea puree, there's burgers, steak, and chicken wings... I had the Metal Burger and found it quite tasty, but not something I'd go back for. People definitely go here for the "event" rather than for culinary reasons. It's not particularly cheap either.

We were guests at the Lord's again, and everything was simply fantastic. The food, the service, everything was top-notch. Once again, we had excellent food and drinks. We would especially like to emphasize the prompt and courteous service. It was busy that evening, but all the staff were completely on top of things and very friendly.

The medieval lady serves me well and crowned me with a tiara before I glutonnously consume my meat patty and wheat doughs.. ok I can't do medieval talk. Good experience - the staff speaks medieval and some customers even went there with traditional medieval clothing for fun for their dinner. Food is good .. people are nice. Good atmosphere. Too many guests for so few staff! The staff try hard, but they can't seem to accommodate you. Far too loud! Once you see it, everything's fine. No need to go back a second time!!!

If you want to switch off from everyday life and immerse yourself in another world, this is the place for you. We reserved a table for 5 p.m., so it wasn't too crowded. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is very inviting. With good music, an attentive waiter, and good food and drink, you can unwind. Fantastic restaurant! I come here often and am enchanted every time. The service is nice and speaks perfect medieval standard German, the music is good and you feel like you are in a dark medieval tavern.

Everything is just right. The ambience, the decor, the music, the service and the food. I've eaten burgers at many local and restaurants - but none come close to this. I definitely ate the best burgers here. I can only recommend Black Knight and Merlin's Meal. The right mead is also included. Definitely one of my favorite shops

We came for the medieval theme. But it was really the best restaurant we visited this weekend. Really super tasty. Some drawbacks: it was incredibly warm in there. But the 5 stars are deserved.

Very nice meal here. Decoration and service completely in medieval theme. Even the order is recorded in medieval terms. Very pleasant and the service is clearly having fun. When we arrived, we didn't really know what to expect. The restaurant is an intermediate building and from the outside you cannot see the nice atmosphere inside. And last but not least, the food is delicious. We ate here with 2 families and mainly ate the hamburgers. It was really delicious and more than enough. Definitely recommended. We spent approximately 25/30 euros per person with 8 people (4 children / 4 adults).

Only with reservation! Mainly burgers, but also chicken wings or steak available. Delicious beer, different types. Medieval flair is lived there in clothing and jewelry.

I expected more... The burger patties were bad. Drinks delicious. But what's not possible: you're served half a liter of beer at 9:55 p.m. and 3 minutes later you're told that you have 5 minutes to finish it...

You could almost call it an “event location” ;-) It's a very small place with maybe just under 10 tables. When you enter there is quite dim lighting coupled with the smell of candles and food. Somehow it is as if when you cross the threshold from the present you are catapulted somewhere into the past. A voice immediately comes from the darkness behind the counter: Greetings, I'll be with you in a moment. Then a nice lady in an original dress comes and greets you in a friendly manner and asks about the reservation. So everything just fits there. The service is nicely and authentically dressed, the music, the interior. Great concept! But nobody goes there just because of the concept ;-) So here are a few more notes about the food: My wife and I shared the “Fresh bread with garlic dip” as a starter. --> Super tasty! For the main course, my wife had the burger “The Prince of Zollstock” and I had the “Metal Burger”. Both burgers were super tasty and cooked to perfection. The Metal Burger had a slight spiciness to it. Perfect for me, it would have been too spicy for my wife. The portion, even if it doesn't look like it, is very generous and we both had to "fight" ;-). Unfortunately there was no room for dessert. We'll do that next time. We drank a total of 2 Cokes, 2 Radler, 2 Jägermeister The bill came to EUR 66. Perfect! Conclusion: 1. Cool concept 2. you feel welcome as soon as you enter 3. friendly service 4. extremely short waiting time until the food comes 5. very tasty food 6. The price is completely reasonable 7. Due to limited space: BOOK! While we were sitting there, people were sent away three times with the statement: We are fully booked today Thank you for the lovely evening

Simply amazing! I was overwhelmed by the great atmosphere there. We know about medieval restaurants, but in most cases it's just a somewhat medieval-decorated tavern with people in costumes. Here in the Lord of the Grillz, the medieval theme has been implemented down to the last detail. You walk in and immediately feel like you've walked through a time portal. Granted, it's more of a modern interpretation of the Middle Ages, but just consider it a fantasy interpretation. And then the food!!! Simply delicious!!! Kudos to the kitchen! The ambience is super stylish in medieval style. The staff are dressed in the same way and speak the language of the time. Fans of this era will get their money's worth. The food is always delicious. Have been there several times and will always recommend it to others. But you should ALWAYS reserve a table if you want to stop there.

Simply awesome! We were there for the second time now and are absolutely thrilled again. The team is super friendly, attentive and lives their role with real passion - you feel completely at home. Like last time, the food was a real highlight: fresh, tasty and prepared with love. There were three of us, we each had a starter and main course as well as two drinks each - and all for an absolutely fair price of €96. We'll definitely be back. Clear recommendation!
