The restaurant makes a great first impression with its beautiful ambiance, which perfectly complements the menu. The service is pleasantly quiet and unobtrusive, creating a relaxed atmosphere – there's nothing to complain about here. Unfortunately, the food doesn't live up to this positive impression. The appetizers already revealed significant shortcomings: the shrimp, labeled as prawns, were excessively salty and barely palatable. The "garlic bread with cheese" consisted of briefly warmed, pre-baked rolls topped with cheese – disappointing in both taste and quality. The meat, on the other hand, was of good quality, and the steaks were cooked to perfection. However, this positive impression was marred by several side dishes: the salad dressing was a simple, ready-made vinaigrette, the guacamole tasted almost exclusively of cumin and lacked any freshness. The chimichurri sauce was neither aromatic nor appealing. The so-called "king prawn" served with the steak was particularly irritating – it was actually just an ordinary prawn that hadn't even been deveined. After complaining, two new prawns were served, but these were prepared just as carelessly and tasteless. All in all, the restaurant is visually appealing and the service is good, but it only manages to meet culinary expectations to about 50%. The overall impression remains disappointing. I will not be visiting this restaurant again and unfortunately cannot recommend it.

What was going on??? Reading the reviews here, I'm thinking: change of ownership, wrong restaurant, ....??? We were a group of over 60 people, had made a reservation several months in advance, and the menu was handed out over the phone more than an hour before our arrival, based on a significantly reduced selection. Even the drinks service was slow, and it wasn't until the second hour of waiting that the first person in our group received their pre-ordered meal. The last person didn't get theirs for a full 3.5 hours after we arrived. And even then, it wasn't what we had ordered. Many of our food was cold, but surprisingly, it tasted okay. What's unacceptable is not only the way you expect the customer to put up with it. For every employee (I'm thinking of the waitress, who looked utterly ashamed…), and nobody seems to consider that, such a situation is an ordeal for the customer. The unprofessionalism of the staff was palpable. Not a word of apology, not a word of regret from the "boss," who was completely unempathetic, irresponsible, and clueless about what he was doing, and to whom one could then pay. The tip was likely correspondingly meager, which is in stark contrast to what the employee deserved after what he had to endure. Oh dear, this is not how the restaurant business should be; it's not enough to "want" to do it, you also have to "know" how! Never again...

We went to this restaurant yesterday as a large group. We had requested the food in advance, and they only had to ask for the side dishes when we got there. What can I say? The first meals arrived an hour and a half later, and the last ones after three. The staff seemed poorly organized, and many things were forgotten or didn't arrive at all. The food itself was good, but many of the others have a lot of room for improvement.

Disappointing – Confirmed Reservation, But Restaurant Closed It was my birthday yesterday, and my girlfriend had reserved a table for two at the Longhorn Bautzen for 6:30 p.m. The reservation was confirmed. However, when we arrived on time, the restaurant was closed. There was simply a note on the door stating "Closed due to personal reasons." We received no information or cancellation – that was truly disappointing, especially since it was a special occasion. Luckily, we were able to spontaneously find a table elsewhere, but that's not how you should treat guests. A quick message or phone call would have been perfectly sufficient. Addendum: I read the owner's response. The reservation was made via the contact form on the website and confirmed by email – I'm happy to provide proof of this if needed. If it wasn't listed in the guest book, that would indicate an internal issue. There was no mention of a closure on the website at the time of the reservation; there was only a note on the premises. I think it's a shame that the owner's reaction was so defensive, creating the impression that the guest is responsible. This seems unprofessional and contradicts the principle that the guest is the focus. A simple apology would have made a much better impression. Nevertheless: We will give the restaurant another chance and try the food when we get the chance – I'll be happy to review the food and service as well. I hope this visit will be more positive.

Simply the best in Bautzen's gastronomy. The attentiveness and charisma of the hosts are indescribable – you simply can't miss this experience. They are simply the best.

I've been coming here regularly for lunch for over a year now, and I'm always impressed. There's usually a choice of three different dishes in different price categories, so there's something for everyone. The quality of the food is simply impressive – and not just for the price. A dish for €7-8 here has a quality that would easily fetch over €20 in other restaurants. The value for money is unbeatable. What really sets this restaurant apart, however, is the creativity of the kitchen. The dishes are always a bit unusual and special. More than once, I've sat there after a meal and thought to myself, "I've never eaten anything like this before." It's always incredibly delicious and a true taste experience. Add to that the warm and friendly nature of the owners, who make you feel immediately welcome. Everything is just right here. An unreserved recommendation – my absolute favorite for lunch!

We booked a table for 8 people at short notice, which was no problem over the phone. The steaks of your choice are a great idea and incredibly delicious, with a choice of sides to round out the selection.

The menu is varied and there's something for everyone. The service was very friendly, and there weren't long waits. We'd love to come back.

Well, what can I say... ordered a medium steak... got it raw and ice cold... a sorry from the staff? No... fries were too salty... the restaurant was full of flies, and the bill was for drinks we didn't even get... there were two of us!! No, sorry... there are 10 times better restaurants in the Bautzen area... Longhorn, not again.

We were at Longhorn in Bautzen yesterday, and it was simply fantastic. Everything tasted incredibly delicious. The spices, fresh ingredients, and authentic recipes truly bring the feeling of Latin America to the plate. The service was warm and attentive; you immediately feel welcome. The atmosphere is also very pleasant. I especially recommend the dorado frito (fish), but every dish was a highlight. The value for money is excellent. We will definitely be back! Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

We visited the Longhorn Bautzen for the first time on August 13, 2025, at dinnertime. It was a good thing we had reserved. The outdoor seating was well occupied. In our opinion, this is a top-class restaurant with the potential to definitely return, with very friendly and prompt service. The menu is exceptionally long, featuring a variety of North, Central, and South American dishes. Our meal was exceptionally plentiful and delicious. We definitely want to come back to try more.

Our expectations from other reviews were not met. The waitresses didn't seem to care about sales, as it took a long time to get our drinks refilled. The appetizers were very tasteless but okay, except for the after-dinner drinks (they taste better at every cinema and are also cheaper). When the main course finally arrived after 1.5 hours, we were very disappointed with its taste. The meat was dry and lacking any seasoning. Overall, unfortunately, NOT worth the money.

A highly recommended restaurant. It has that certain something… friendly service, excellent food, and a wonderfully comfortable atmosphere. I'd happily return. A visit that's always worthwhile.

We ate at your place today for the first time since the change of ownership. It was for a birthday party for 15 people. Making a reservation was no problem. Drinks were promptly served, and we had a hearty chat with the new owners. Thank you for that! The food was excellent! It's freshly cooked with love. The price-performance ratio is just right. At the end, there was a surprise for Grandma's birthday :) We wish you all the best for the future and will be back soon.

My partner and I went there for the first time, and we were thrilled. We went without a reservation and got a comfortable seat right at the front of the bar. The service was friendly, prompt, and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the baked potato with sour cream, the fried mushrooms, and the chicken with mushroom cream sauce. God, all of it together was a taste explosion for me. ☺️ We'd love to come back.

I had a lovely evening with my husband. The food was freshly prepared. We had chicken breast with rice, salad, and a chicken burger. It tasted good. The service was very friendly.

Unfortunately, we don't give it many points. We haven't been there for years. Aside from a new owner, not much has changed. It was somewhat disappointing. It's showing its age. Lots of broken, run-down corners, both inside and out. The plants are dried out and unkempt. The candles in the candlesticks are broken or broken. Some of the decor has nothing to do with Texas/steak/barbeque, etc. The music is completely unsuitable for a restaurant like this. It doesn't reflect the atmosphere. I didn't look at every corner, but the restroom definitely needs a good cleaning. There are dark splashes everywhere, including on the walls. The dirt on the restroom isn't just a day old. The food, however, was quite good. The meat was tender, although it could have been seasoned more strongly. But that's a matter of taste. The onion rings were delicious. The waiter, perhaps also the owner of the restaurant (unfortunately, we don't know), was nice but rather taciturn.

Dominica from Goschwitzstrasse has been at Longhorn since this year. The kitchen offers American and Dominican dishes. The food is delicious and served in a fitting atmosphere. The restaurant is definitely a culinary asset in Bautzen.

After many years, we decided to go to Long Horn again and weren't satisfied. 45 minutes after ordering, we received the wrong burger, and it was cold, too. We complained and received a new one. The quality wasn't any better, though. The other orders were fine, but below expectations. Perhaps a tip for the owners. Warm plates would be beneficial, and for dishes like chicken wings, a bone plate would be better.

Dominican-style food is rather questionable. Chicken Pico Pollo Dominican style was 3 larger chicken legs fried in deep fryer (too long). No taste of the typical local preparation. Food overall not particularly great for the price. Not recommended. Service rather ghostly. No question about whether the guests enjoyed it (he probably knew why). No reply to our farewell. Weird place. The competition in the area can only be better.

Positive: We were served very friendly. The food was served quickly. Negative: We were there with 5 people. 3/5 had ordered ribs. ->For one person, the ribs were completely inedible (very tough/firm) and returned almost untouched. ->The other person's rib was about 75% fat ->In the third person everything was fine, even tough in some places. Overall, the portions were pretty small for the price (at least you didn't overeat). There was hardly any sign of the BBQ marinade. The other two people's dishes were completely fine in terms of quality. We weren't thrilled at all. We won't end up there again. I wouldn't recommend it to family & friends either. In my opinion there is much stronger competition in the area.

We had dinner here for my partner's birthday. Making a reservation for the lecture was easy. We were given a place right next to the play area. Perfect for our two children and we could keep an eye on them the entire time. That was very comfortable. The food was excellent and freshly prepared. The rump steak we ordered was fried to medium rare as requested. The children's portions are very generous. Everything tasted very good. As a surprise, the birthday child of the group received a little gift. We would love to come back and have already made many recommendations. Thank you 🙏🏼

The Longhorn was my favorite restaurant for a while and this was my first time there since the restaurant had a new owner. My expectations were correspondingly high, but unfortunately they could not be met. The selection of dishes was very appealing, but I wasn't really impressed with the taste. We had to wait a little longer for the dishes. The service staff still seemed a bit unsure and the coordination between the kitchen and service as well as among the service staff still needs improvement. However, the price-performance ratio is good. It wasn't bad, but I liked it better before.

The food was very good, a steak so tender and to the point. Highly recommended. Very warm hosts, we would be happy to come back. Thanks for the good food.

Today we visited the Longhorn with its new owner. I had a 300g fillet steak, fries and mushrooms. The fillet was ordered medium rare and was buttery and well seasoned. I had nothing to complain about compared to its predecessor. We'll be back

We went to this restaurant for dinner for the first time today. It was relatively cold in the restaurant.. The drinks were served to us quite quickly. After waiting 50 minutes for our food, we received lukewarm burgers. The plates were cleared while one person was still eating at the table... We were then left sitting with empty glasses and the waiter made no attempt to ask for the bill. Instead, new guests were sent away who could have eaten from our table. If we hadn't ordered the bill after half an hour, we would still be waiting.

Service and kitchen are poorly organized. Drinks and food took far too long to be served. There wasn't enough cutlery on the tables. Food was then forgotten and mixed up. Card was short, which was good with an additional Christmas card. Food was also tasty, but nothing special. There is definitely still room for improvement!

Ready-made food out of the bag The day I was there I had fried potatoes with minced meatballs. The fried potatoes were 100 percent straight from the bag. The meatballs were all identical, but I can't decide on them. The food was freshly prepared, but not homemade. I didn't say it wasn't tasty. But when I go out to eat somewhere, I don't want ready-made food. What is the internet for? If I am asked by Google to give my review about the restaurant. I didn't insult anyone. That was my experience that day. I know what ready-made fried potatoes taste like. Maybe my mistake was that I was there at lunchtime. Unfortunately there were none of the delicious dishes that are on the menu on the website.

Wir waren vor einen Monat hier essen und habe eine Bewertung bei Google hinterlassen die der Inhaberin nicht gepasst hat somit schreibe ich sie hier. Ich muss sagen das die Speisekarte sehr überschaubar ist ein zwei Burger mehr wären ganz schön. Der burger war schon okay. Dann hatten wir noch ein Rumpsteak mit Knoblauchbaguette und Champignons für denn Preis muss ich sagen war dieses nicht schön die Champignons waren aus der Dose bzw. TK das Knoblauchbaguette war leider auch fertig und für 4,20 bekomme ich im Laden 4 von denn fertigen Knoblauchbaguette. Der Service war okay aber müsste etwas mehr auf die Gäste eingehen. Die Karte war klein und wenige Gerichte und dafür noch TK Produkte zu verwerten ist sehr schade. Da bei einer kleinen Karte keine TK Produkte nötig wären. Es steckt Potenzial dahinter. Was ich mir wünsche für meinen nächsten Besuch wenn die Karte Liebe-voller gestaltet wird und mehr frische Produkte verwendet werden wie bei denn Champions. Da diese wirklich nicht so teuer sind auch da Brot könnte das nächste Mal doch frisch sein und kein fertig Baguette was man im Laden bekommt.

Six of us had dinner this evening. All of us ordered a fillet steak with various side dishes. One of the steaks did not have the quality of a fillet and was therefore criticized. This got so badly into the boss's nose that it was the end of it - the steak was removed from the plate with the cleared cutlery of another guest, as we didn't have to pay for it, and to top it all off, the stranger's fork was placed on the table with kind regards Plate left lying around. Disgusting and a huge mess!!! We were given a waiver of drinks and one meal, but at the end we were said goodbye: If we don't want to come anymore, then it's not a big deal. Unfortunately, a world of difference from the previous owner!

We can only advise against visiting at lunchtime. Nothing to order from a menu, only 3 dishes to choose from, but only one can be served. Service and service at the lowest level, but high prices - a glass of ginger ale €5.00!

Staff: Dominican Republic/Venezuela/Germany. The German language is no problem. Special requests will be accommodated. Friendliness and dealing with guests at a very good and high level. The chef himself comes from Venezuela. I would like more food. Steak prices are TOP because the quality is outstanding. I would say PERFECT. All other dishes are also 100%. Ich habe dieses Restaurant geliebt, das Personal ist sehr nett und freundlich, es herrscht eine sehr schöne Atmosphäre. Das Essen ist spektakulär, gut zubereitet und man merkt, dass es mit viel Liebe zubereitet wurde Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist großartig. Ich würde auf jeden Fall wieder hingehen.

Tested the lunch menu for the third time today after the change of operator. Conclusion: Far from the level of the previous operator. Fried potatoes taste okay, but only slightly warm, fried egg "fried to death", lukewarm and without taste, slice of meatloaf only 3-4 mm thick, salad was already falling apart... not a fourth time so quickly.

We had reserved for 12 people. Only after about 30 minutes did we get a card to order drinks. After about another 30 minutes we asked if we could order food, as up to this point (1 hour after arriving on time) no food order had been taken. There were around 12 other guests in the restaurant besides us. We had three small children with us who were becoming restless. Further drink orders were only brought after repeated reminders. Dishes were mostly cold, steaks were cooked through despite being ordered medium, rump steak was cold and only about 1 cm thick, burger was cold, potato wedges and sour cream were unseasoned. Unfortunately, the Longhorn cannot be recommended at this time.

We were there on Saturday evening and were unfortunately absolutely disappointed. - NEW OWNERS - After half an hour we were asked what drinks we wanted - until then we didn't even have a menu, but we were then given two tickets for three people. We were later informed that one of the two cards was still from the previous owner and was no longer being used. Then the pen to write down our order was missing and it dragged on like this... We left after the starter and will definitely not come back. Lack of staff is definitely not an excuse for this poor service! It's a shame for the name "Longhorn", it's no longer what it used to be - unfortunately the website isn't updated either. We hope that we remain an exception and that the other guests can have a better experience with the new owners.

Never again. I don't know how these people can drag the Long Horn name so badly. The first impression was frightening. Dried flowers and dusty balloons from the housewarming party lay in the dining room. Stale beer was the next disappointment. And the highlight was the sirloin steak, which was completely cooked through and tasted like the sole of a shoe. The garlic bread we ordered was from “Gut und Günstig” from the discount store. Every snack bar and canteen has better food and better service.

I have to say that the menu is very manageable, two more burgers would be nice. The burger was okay. Then we had a rump steak with garlic baguette and mushrooms. For the price I have to say it wasn't nice. The mushrooms were canned or frozen. Unfortunately the garlic baguette was also ready and for 4.20 I got 4 of the ready-made garlic baguettes in the store. The service was okay but needs to be a little more responsive to the guests. The menu was small and there were only a few dishes and it was a shame to use frozen products instead. Because with a small card no TK products would be necessary. There is potential behind it. What I hope for my next visit is when the menu is designed with more love and more fresh products are used like at Champions. Since these are really not that expensive, the bread could be fresh next time and not a ready-made baguette that you get in the store.

There has recently been a new operator here. I was there for lunch and had a fantastic fish risotto with coconut milk. They used to be regular customers. It doesn't work with the new owner and the old concept. You should do what you can and that's really not it! Ordered medium steak - it was really very well done! Good thing it was only 200g. Even the potato wedges were messed up, left in too old frying fat for too long. The burger was bland and tasteless. There were maybe 12 other guests in front of us and it just took too long. And please. You can only advise against the gratinated herb baguette. White and unappetizing, a refrigerated baguette sprinkled with a little cheese - there really is a better way. Our recommendation to the operators. Try something different - different name, different dishes - nothing that draws comparison to the food from the old Longhorn. Maybe the old staff was special (But Lovable!) - but there was never any criticism of the food!

Very friendly service, unfortunately the staff made a small mistake but this was quickly and brilliantly resolved by the service and kitchen. The food and drink was excellent and I can only recommend the restaurant. Price-performance ratio definitely fits. Personally, I will definitely come back. Please keep it up. Even though there were a few small initial errors, we were very well looked after and the food was really delicious!! Keep it up, we'll see each other again in November at the latest!

Very friendly staff, very accommodating, always careful to fully fulfill the customers' wishes, even if there is a short waiting time, it is still worth it. Food in pleasantly large portions so that both young and old get their fill. We'll definitely be back!

The food was ok except for the steak, which was tough and had a thick edge of fat/cartilage. The service was outrageous. The atmosphere is very nice.

The unfriendly greeting we have ever experienced in a restaurant. Brittle charm That's still a gross understatement. If you only want to work with reservations, you should write this on the website or at least on the outside of the restaurant. This way you can save yourself the trouble of having to go there or go in and be handled by the unfriendly older gentlemen in the dining room. (You can't smell it or imagine how some people tick or think they have to run their business.) As I said, customer friendliness looks different and I would say a very bad example for the Bautzen gastronomy. I can't judge the food on offer and won't because we'll never visit this place again. By the way, afterwards we found a fine restaurant in downtown Bautzen where everyone was nice, friendly and accommodating. We were happy to pay them our money. Conclusion: If you want to know what it felt like to go to the restaurant in Eastern Time, you are in good hands at the Longhorn. The one star was only given for being able to write the comment here, so 0 points. Best regards

rustic Texas atmosphere... Food is delicious and the steaks are exactly how you want them... for example, medium inside and slightly crispy on the outside...

We've been there several times. Now it's been a long time and quite spontaneously for 2. We got a place without a reservation - but it's still recommended to reserve in advance. Service was great. Quick, prompt and friendly. Years ago this wasn't always the CASE, so it's great. Food came quite quickly and it was very tasty. My onion rings were a bit greasy - see picture on the left - but it was okay - since I didn't finish everything anyway. Everything else was delicious and will be back soon. Ambiance is also perfectly fine. Plenty of parking spaces. What more could you want? We go home happy and full ;)

A great restaurant! Birthdays, celebrations, just go out to eat - you can't go wrong here. Nice and authentic service, great food and lots of choice, but always authentic in style and taste. An absolute recommendation for everyone!!!!

High quality steaks with a perfect degree of doneness

It's been a while since I dined at the Longhorn... I was obviously amazed at the great offerings, it was very good and the service was friendly and quick. Everything was fine...gladly again :-)

It's a real shame that the (apparently) owner isn't interested in random customers (2 people). Nowhere is it stated that you can "only" enter the restaurant with a reservation, according to the statement of the rather unfriendly gentleman who sent us out again at 6 p.m. on April 3rd, 2024, even though many tables were still free. We come here very rarely because we come from Bavaria and are visiting friends. But from now on the restaurant will no longer see us, there are much friendlier and more flexible hosts in the area.

Have been here twice now with colleagues and were thrilled both times. The steak was on point and the side dishes went well with it. Whenever I'm craving a good steak again, the Longhorn will definitely be my first choice. It's great what you offer.

Lunch from Tuesday to Friday from 5.50 euros or 7.00 euros. We recommend. Delicious home cooking.

Habe eine Woche vorher telefonisch reserviert und am Tag der Reservierung stand ich vor verschlossener Tür. Es gab keine Info warum, wieso,weshalb. Erst nach Google Recherche haben wir herausgefunden, dass wegen Krankheit. Können die nicht telefonieren und Bescheid geben?
