Lon Men in Berlin

As we all know, tastes differ, so it's a shame this wasn't my taste... I had taken my food with me. It looked delicious at first when I got home, but my first bite was directly into a cilantro "ball"... I don't like that at all. And there seemed to be an infinite number of them in the dish (see photo). If you like that, this is the place for you.

I eat here often, the food is delicious. The service is very enthusiastic.

For over 30 years, and now in the second generation, we have been a regular guest at Lon-Men, now Lon-Min. The food is simply delicious and reasonably priced – the peanut sauce with the chicken is particularly fantastic. The ambiance may be a bit dated, but for us, that's what makes it so iconic, shabby chic. In summer, the terrace is a wonderful place to sit. The service is very friendly, and special requests are no problem. Some people say that Lon-Men was better before the change of management. That might even be true, but that would be complaining at a high level.

Came here for a lunch date with friends and we loved the food. Two of us are vegetarians and wanted to try their vegetarian menu. Ended up ordering the veggie beef and it was amazing, especially with the candied walnuts on top. Very satisfying portion size, you can ask for more rice if needed, definitely wanna come back to try another vegetarian option!

It's been a long time since I've been here again because the local bars around were all full and loud. We ate very well and reasonably priced. A varied menu, nice selection, well cooked. Attentive and friendly service, original ambience. Friendly drink prices.

Highly recommended, delicious duck for 4 people, 4 courses very good

The restaurant is already showing its age. So the ambience could do with a refresh. The food, however, was amazing. I haven't had such good Chinese food in a long time! The waitresses were very friendly, attentive and unobtrusive. The prices were OK. Gladly again!

😘 201 delicious. The terrace looks untidy, the table wobbles😰. The first impression is dirty for such a wonderful place, I would like better. It will not hurt to renew the design and new things, walls with cracks look bad. Make repairs and there will be more people 😍

We stayed here at Lon-Min with 4 people in the 2nd week of April to spend a nice evening. Reserved in advance by phone. Of the two round tables in the entrance area, we were given the slightly smaller one, but it is large enough for 4-6 people. Unfortunately, the bike couriers from the delivery services constantly coming and going with their large panniers are a nuisance at the entrance. The dishes chosen for the main course were a bit disappointing, as the famous “whistle” was missing, both in terms of taste and presentation. The “spicy” sauce in the vegetables was ultimately just a soy sauce that was thickened and served uniformly with all dishes. The service around us had little interest in us and processed the orders indifferently without a smile. We expressed the wish to eat with chopsticks, which we received, but the dinner plates were not exchanged for small bowls from which one usually eats with chopsticks. So the enjoyment of eating was quite limited. The starters, spring rolls and wonton soup, were ok, as was the baked banana for dessert. This traditional Chinese restaurant could do much more with a little more individuality and a personal approach. As it is now, it unfortunately doesn't stand out in a positive way from the large circle of existing Chinese restaurants and is just one of many. The presentation of the menu online and on site also urgently needs to be changed.

Get2 wasn't accepted. Unfortunately, the food wasn't impressive. Only one other table was occupied. Apparently, they're mainly serving delivery.

Oldest chinese restaurant in Berlin, food was delicious (i tried some appetizers) and they have a lunch time menu very complete with good price. Friendly stuff and for my taste really nice decoration and music. Nice atmosphere.

Really good cuisine and above all not as overpriced as other restaurants!!

We traditionally only go out to eat once a year because none of us live nearby. Our group of women then eats a Peking duck menu for 4 people. Soup, starter, main course and dessert are always delicious and plentiful. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

I can highly recommend the Peking duck menu. Service is friendly and quick. The atmosphere is a bit old-fashioned but still cozy.

One of the oldest Asian restaurants in Berlin.

I have to honestly admit that we haven't ordered from Lon Min for a long time because we were no longer impressed by the quality of the food. After initial hesitation, we ordered again today and were absolutely thrilled. We can honestly say that we ate some of the best food in our entire lives. It was very tasty, fresh and traditional Chinese cuisine. The delivery also worked perfectly. As long as the quality remains as it is now, we will be happy to order regularly again and are already looking forward to the next time.

Super delicious food. Very nice service and authentic atmosphere. The prices are very good. If you are in the capital and are looking for a delicious Asian restaurant, you have found it.

Soup is ok, but the noodles are the worst I've ever eaten...

We ordered a Peking duck but got a completely different menu. We noticed this in the third course. Apart from a verbal apology, there was no accommodation whatsoever, but the higher price of the menu that was not ordered was charged.

There were four of us and we had the Peking duck. It was really tasty, the service was friendly and attentive, all in all a lovely evening.

The food, ambience and service are consistent in this lovely restaurant. We always enjoy coming here and can happily recommend it to others.

Delicious food Friendly service

Old-fashioned restaurant with the charm of the Wilhelminian era offers dishes with extensive glutamate side dishes. Yes, the price is okay, but don't expect much. The constantly ringing telephone for take-out orders further reduces the feeling of well-being. The supposedly oldest Chinese restaurant on the square lives up to its name. You don't have to have it.

I used to always order online That's why I come here with friends, If you are looking for “okay eating” pass. But different foods have their own taste. Service I don't feel comfortable Couldn't really answer us about food information and felt a bit uncomfortable with the service. Has no reception but does not offer WiFi. It's a shame and we certainly wouldn't come again.

That was nothing. Poorly seasoned, the rice (Nasi Goreng) so dry that it was uneatable. The spring rolls only tasted like cinnamon.

We ordered via Uber Eats, which was 30 minutes late at lunchtime, which wasn't a big deal. But the food didn't taste good at all. A dish was sent incorrectly, the breading of the chicken was completely soggy and in the same packaging as the rest. The mushrooms are not fresh but dried. They weren't even soaked long enough. The cucumber salad had nothing to do with Chinese cucumber salad. And what's more, everything was cold. The supper alone was ok. Overall, a sad meal and unfortunately not worth the money.

The three of us went out to eat today and treated ourselves to a 4-course menu. Despite the fact that there were only three of us, we always got one for four people. I thought that was very good. Price = performance was good. I would have liked more noodles instead of the whole mushrooms in the last step. The ice cream was good.

Since the name was changed from men to min, the quality has also plummeted. Have been going back or ordering for years! Actually, it was extremely good until it was renamed! Above all, the new LonMin has nothing to do with the LonMen from the 60s! I find it questionable whether one should really advertise that they have been there since the 60s. And to eat the following, sweet and sour soup very watery and without taste. Meat soggy because sauce was poured over it. Zero concept and zero love invested. Unfortunately no longer worth a visit

The best Chinese restaurant we know. The Lon-Men became Lon-Min, and the very good quality has remained. The waiter is unique and very attentive, thank you very much. Despite the long journey, we always enjoy coming back.

Price/performance and service was great

Four of us had Peking duck at a very good price. The food was very good, it is highly recommended, the price has been reduced by half of the regular price.

The lunch menus are cheap and taste very good

We've been coming here for 7 years and it's always a treat. The waiter always greets us in a friendly manner and provides great service. Pay attention when a drink is almost empty. Super clean and always delicious food. We'd love to come back... Kind regards from Rostock

I've ordered food there twice via Uber Eats. I don't know what they put in their food. Both times I had stomach cramps, diarrhea and felt sick. This is now a case for the health department. I will never eat there again. Stay away from this restaurant.

Always very satisfied, the food is very tasty and filling. The boss with the glasses is very likeable and likes to chat with the customers. Can only recommend the restaurant!

Good lunch with absolutely fair prices. The waiter was also friendly and offered good service. The dishes were delicious, but the side dishes weren't to our liking. The rice was extremely hard and too grainy, as if it wasn't cooked yet, the same with the noodles, which didn't really taste good. Since we always eat a lot of it and value quality, there are unfortunately points deducted.

Nausea, nausea and diarrhea were free in my experience with Lon-Min Spend your hard-earned money somewhere else, this group certainly doesn't deserve it

We were in the restaurant for the first time today, but definitely not the last time. We had the Peking duck through a Groupon voucher and were very satisfied. The food was hot, tasty and the gentleman in service was very friendly and accommodating. The price is absolutely not to be sniffed at and even though we have to travel further, it is absolutely worth the journey. Thank you for the great afternoon.

The ambience may be a bit cheesy, but the food is great and so are the people; There were six of us there today and everyone was really happy, thank you very much!

As of: 03.2024 We've eaten here a few times, but mostly had the Peking for 4 people. This time we were in the area "briefly" due to a doctor's visit. We were warmly welcomed and offered a free choice of tables. Personally, I always found the interior to be a bit too dark (light), but you can also sit outside when the weather is good and sunny. The menu is manageable, but there is still enough choice. We ordered 1x large juice spritzer, 1x large cola for 4.20 euros each and 2x of the lunch special Duck á la Chef for 10.00 euros each. The food was brought relatively quickly. The portions are completely okay for the price. There's nothing wrong with the taste. We'd love to come back when we're nearby 😀.

We were there today and had a delicious meal. It is a cozy restaurant with very friendly and fast service. We had crispy chicken with dried chilies and Szechuan pepper, which tasted good and was very special and spicy as promised. Prices are very fair. We'd love to come back!

Four of us came here for the Peking duck menu. It was very delicious. The service was super nice and explained everything well... Personally, the room temperature was too cool for me that day, despite the thick curtain on the entrance door. We will be back definitely.... Maybe even in summer, as there is a large outdoor terrace.... Thanks for the delicious afternoon

We had delivery service! Unfortunately disappointing! The sour-spicy soup didn't taste good at all. None of the flavors except “spicy” tasted really peppery. The chicken egg rice had no flavor and tasted dry and unseasoned. A pity!

I have been an extremely satisfied customer for many years. Enjoyed PekingEnte 2go for the first time at the end of 2023 and, as always, I was thrilled with the taste. I am still of the opinion that a good price/performance ratio is offered here; The lunch menu is even very good value for money.

We've been here several times in the past and wanted to take a look again. Unfortunately, the restaurant no longer impressed us. It looks in need of renovation, not really comfortable. When the menu says vegetables, I expect more than onions, green peppers and spicy thickened soy sauce. The taste experience was limited, and the moderate prices and friendly service didn't help either. We will taste our way through the many other restaurants in Berlin.

We were here for the 3rd time today. Today with friends who have eaten here several times, including... the Pekigente for 4 people. We were very satisfied again and will definitely come back. I would also like to mention the always friendly, attentive and humorous waiter.

It's very tasty, although not the best Chinese food I've had but it was very tasty, the waiter was very nice and the restaurant itself was also nice, plus it's all worth it for the price you pay

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Lon Men, drawn in by its promising reputation for Chinese cuisine. Unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired, particularly with their highly touted dish - the Chinese Duck. I went to 2 years ago and it was better, at the end the product is decreasing its quality.

I don't recommend ordering an Uber Eats delivery from this restaurant. The pork was greasy and messy, looks like only the worst part of the meat were used, the shrimp dim sums had a foul taste and overall everything was looking grey and not fresh.

Kleines feines Restaurant. Wir hatten einen Gutschein über Groupon für 4 Personen, für ein 4 Gänge Menü. Es war alles sehr lecker. Der Service war hervorragend! Wir hatten einen tollen Abend!

Das Lokal ist gemütlichen klein, obwohl wir wegen eines Staatsbesuch zu spät kamen, war Service super. Der Kellner war super drauf. Hatte für jeden Wunsch ein Ohr , auf dem Kien. das Essen prima und schmackhaft. Wir sehr zufrieden. Hatten unseren Tisch reserviert.

War heute das erste Mal in diesem Restaurant und sehr zufrieden schnelle und freundliche Bedienung und geschmacklich gut werde des ôfteren dort vorbeischauen und auf der Terrasse sitzen das Essen war sehr lecker

Das Essen war sehr lecker, vor allem die Erdnusssoße ist sehr zu empfehlen. Bis 17.30 Uhr gibt es Mittagstisch mit sehr guten Preisen. Die Bedienung war schnell und freundlich und erfüllte jeden Extrawunsch. Wir werden dort gern wieder hingehen.

Also noch mal bestelle ich da ganz bestimmt nicht.

Mein Essen hatte absolut keinen Geschmack, Gemüse war zerkocht und die Ente zäh. Nach langer Wartezeit mussten wir uns vom Personal noch anhören lassen dass “gutes” essen halt seine Zeit braucht.

Am 10.06.2023 gingen wir zu dritt ins Restaurant LonMen. Ich hatte meinen SchlemmerBlock dabei. Vor der Bestellung legte ich diesen dem Kellner vor. Wir wurden super nett bedient und das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Ein Platz auf der Terrasse ist auch empfehlenswert. Besten Dank dafür. Monika

Ältestes chinesisches Restaurant in Berlin. Sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung. Wir hatten Suppe, Hauptgerichte und Dessert - alles hat gut geschmeckt. Gute Auswahl an Getränken. Es ist stimmungsvoll in rot und gold eingerichtet. Für die warme Jahreszeit ist eine Terrasse außen vorhanden. Mittags-Angebote für 7,50 € Preis.

Lecker Peking Ente für 4 Personen

Wir waren als Familie mit 4 Personen im Restaurant und haben das Peking-Ente-Menü gegessen. Nach dem freundlichen Empfang erhielten wir zunächst Pflaumenwein bzw. die Kinder Lycheesaft. Dann wurde uns die gebackene Ente gezeigt und danach zubereitet und fertig an den Tisch gebracht. Hat sehr lecker geschmeckt. Als Hauptgang gab es wahlweise kross gebackene scharfe Ente oder geschmorte Ente. Beides war ebenfalls lecker. Es war auch kein Problem auf die Sonderwünsche der Kinder einzugehen und die Pilze wegzulassen. Abgerundet wurde dies durch überbackene Banane mit Vanilleeis. Einziges Manko waren die vielen auf der Terrasse rauchenden Gäste. Wir kommen bestimmt mal wieder vorbei.

Sehr freundlich, Laden könnte man eine Renovierung bekommen (aber ist wohl Tradition), Essen etwas einfach und ohne Pfiff, waren mit Gutscheinheft da und durften diesen für den zweiten Besuch wieder mit nach Hause nehmen :)

Das Pekingentenmenü (muss man vorbestellen) macht dieses Chinaresraurant besonders. Preis-Leistung ist super, Personal ist freundlich. Super für ein schönes Essen mit Freunden oder Familie

A very good restaurant good service

We came here 2 times in the recent weeks and were surprised by the great taste of the Szechuan fish dish, duck with Szechuan peppers and the pork belly. The service was really friendly and fast. The dim sum was average, but overall a very good Chinese option in Berlin.

Das Restaurant scheint sein Hauptgeschäft mittlerweile mit Lieferungen zu verdienen. Waren die einzigen Gäste am Abend, dafür kamen die Auslieferer alle Paar Minuten. Das Essen war sehr lecker und ein sehr freundlicher Service. Im Sommer auf der Terrasse zu sitzen ist bestimmt netter und entspannter.

Wenn ihr Ente kross anbieten dann erwartet der Kunde auch eine krasse Ente. Aber ihr die krosse Ente in die Folie mit dem Essen und der Soße packt um paar Cents zu sparen dann kommt beim Kunden keine krosse Ente sondern eine eingeweichte Ledersohle. Traurig das ihr nicht mit der Zeit mir geht..schade um mein Geld. Als langjähriger Kunde werde ich hier nicht mehr bestellen und auch nicht besuchen und werde euch auf jeder Plattform schlecht bewerten
