Llorona in Bad Tölz

Great food, top service with excellent advice.

Yesterday, I visited Llorona on my way through Bad Tölz. First of all, I'd like to say that I was very satisfied with the service; the two young employees were incredibly friendly. I decided to have a drink in a cozy atmosphere, and since they serve Augustiner beer, I quickly found what I wanted. They have a very extensive drinks menu with all the usual aperitifs, several cocktails, a great selection of coffees, and many soft drinks, etc. The food also looked very good, but unfortunately, I couldn't try anything that day due to my hospital stay. I'll definitely try it another time. The only major drawback, which the restaurant can hardly control, is the heavy traffic. The terrace is right next to a main road, and there was a lot of honking, speeding, and the revving of souped-up cars. I could live with it, but if I wanted to go out for a nice dinner in the evening, it would bother me. In that case, I recommend the spacious interior of the restaurant, which felt very cozy.

I'd never eaten Mexican food before and was surprised by how many different dishes there are. It took a while to choose, but the food was absolutely delicious! Pleasantly spicy.

Delicious margaritas and amazing tacos and tortilla chips. If you are looking for the best place outside of Mexico, go here! We are definitely coming back!

We went there spontaneously a few days ago without a reservation. The service was attentive and very friendly. The food didn't take too long to arrive. The taste and quality were excellent, and the price was perfectly reasonable. We'll definitely stop by again and try something different.

A lovely Mexican restaurant with good service and delicious food. Outside, there's a beer garden overlooking the Isar River. Inside, it's cozy and beautifully decorated. The menu is varied.

This was truly our best restaurant experience in a long time! The food was presented with such a variety of fresh vegetables. The quesadillas and fajitas with pollo were absolutely amazing! Large portions and wonderful service.

There were five of us girls and we had made a reservation for May 15, 2025. We received a friendly welcome and were asked for our drink preferences shortly afterward. The restaurant was very full. Our food was delicious, and our requests were met whenever possible. Freshly prepared food takes time, so the wait was perfectly acceptable. We highly recommend it - if you're really hungry, have an appetizer beforehand. 🙂 We'd love to come back and would like to say thank you to the great team, but especially to the friendly "Thursday waitress."

Awesome! They also have smaller dishes like tacos. My recommendation: chips and cheese. Although not on the menu, they also offer dips, which are absolutely delicious and not expensive!

We had a very pleasant experience at this Mexican restaurant! The food was fantastically delicious, with authentic flavors and excellent quality. The service was outstanding, the waiters were kind, attentive and fast, which made the visit a special experience. I would like to especially highlight chef Heni, who did a fantastic job - the taste and presentation of the food are also worthy of recognition! It is a pleasure to see someone do their job with such passion and professionalism. We will definitely come back and recommend it to everyone who loves real Mexican flavors!

I've visited many Mexican restaurants, but I haven't had something as tasty as Llorona's in a long time. The kitchen is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+ and the service was also great. When I'm here again, I'll definitely come back 👍🥰

Waited too long for food, but it didn't taste good at all.

We had a good appetizer, then we waited an hour for tacos and enchiladas that never came and then left hungry. The chef was sitting at the next table!! Too bad

Unfortunately I have to report the following: I was a guest at Liorona today: everything was okay until I asked about the bill. The service was good, the outdoor space in the sun was a dream. After I asked the waiter three times for the bill, 40 minutes passed before I asked for the bill again at the counter inside. The ladies behind the counter immediately reacted angrily and called me rude, which was then loudly repeated outside in front of the other guests. An amount of €15.90 was then called, which I rejected because it was obviously too little. The request for a receipt was rejected. Quote: then give me 20 € and that's it.... I then accepted, again pointing out how rude I was as a guest. Thank you very much... Gastronomy is different... certainly in Tölz too.

Absolute juice shop. We waited three quarters of an hour for a beer. My colleague is already shaking badly. After asking three times, his beer finally arrived. Insane performance. Simple portion of sweet potato fries still not at the table after an hour. Where do we live then? The drinks taste like weed. All of this in combination with the main street, not recommended.

We had to wait forever for our drinks + the waitress with the white dress was super unfriendly and couldn't even make an effort to say hello. Our second order was also not served when asked. Unfortunately I can't recommend going there.

It's nice to sit outside, even if it's right on the side of the road. It's quite tight inside and we had to wait quite a long time for anything to happen. However, the food is very good and tasty 😋 And there is still room for improvement when it comes to cleanliness 🙄

“Great Mexican food!” The tacos were super fresh, the guacamole was to die for, and the salsas had just the right amount of heat. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was totally relaxed. Perfect for a chilled evening with delicious food. 9/10 – I’ll be back!

Great restaurant with good food from great people. Every time a highlight and an absolute win for Tölz. Portions are more than decent, always of great quality and without exception everyone in service was friendly and extremely accommodating. The ambience doesn't have to hide from the Jailhouse, which is four times as big and well-known.

We had a take away and in my burrito came two big pieces of an extremely SPICY chili, which I didn’t order to! The food is amazing, but it was very uncomfortable to eat that spicy unadvertised.

There is nothing to complain about when it comes to food. One of the few restaurants that offers authentic softshell tacos. Burgers top, burritos top, quesedillas top, beer selection also top. Of course it's not the cheapest in terms of price, but you can taste why. Everything is homemade (except for the extra chili sauces, of course). Unfortunately I have to agree with the many reviews regarding the service. We were there on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The terrace was full and all but three tables inside were reserved. At the beginning there were only 2 completely overwhelmed waiters in the restaurant. One was constantly busy at the bar and the other brought out orders and took them from the terrace. They were obviously trying hard and tried their best, but on a day like this (and the weather forecast had predicted this for a long time) and with so many reservations, I can't have just 2 people for the service. After about an hour a waitress came and took over at the bar, but that was just a drop in the ocean. We saw several couples and groups come in, sit at a table and leave without being able to place an order. Of course, we don't know whether someone lost service at short notice, but the many reviews regarding the service suggest a systematic problem. Of course, this spoils the whole experience in an otherwise excellent restaurant.

The food is good, the service and cleanliness needs improvement. We had to wait for about 15 minutes for a waiter to come and take our order. The place had multiple flies at our table. Meanwhile the waiter / barista was chatting with a friend and petting her dog. He did not wash his hands afterwards. For the drinks we ordered we again had to wait another 10 minutes. The food took over 30 minutes to arrive. The food itself was very good and authentic.

Because of a bad weather front, the two of us spontaneously came in here in the evening and luckily got a place. The restaurant is decorated in a suitably Mexican style and offers various delicacies from Mexican cuisine: burritos, quesadillas, tacos, ... There are hot sauces at the table to spice things up. The drinks menu is also great, there are various types of Spritz and a refreshing Radler with a touch of rosemary. The service is very friendly.

Unfortunately the vegetarian bowl was a complete disappointment. Comparable to a supermarket salad. Only the very nice service saved it. After the complaint brought 2 different sauces. The Chesodillo tasted good. Hence 2 points

Excellent, authentic Mexican place in the very Bavarian Bad Tolz. Fajitas, quesadillas, tacos were great. Well, maybe a little towards Texmex, but forgivable :)

The Llorona (Crybaby) is directly opposite a paid car park and the Isar. You can sit well outside and present yourself on the side of the road, so to speak. It's quite tight inside and sometimes you have to wait a long time for something to happen. However, the food is very good and the drinks (caipi) are also delicious. Personally, I would never come back if they offered Caipi and couldn't do it properly. So... I'll be back! :)

Delicious! Everything was tasty especially the tacos de cerdo.

The tacos are very good, we tried everything: beef, pork, shrimp and chicken. They are corn tortillas. All very good, as Centeo-Americans we approve of the place. We will return 🫶🏼

We discovered this restaurant purely by chance and were completely thrilled. From the inviting ambience, the detailed decoration to the authentic, very tasty food. The portions were sufficiently large. Great value for money. The service was very courteous and friendly. Extra requests, such as a delicious hot sauce, were fulfilled. In addition, the service was very understanding of food intolerances and the kitchen was very flexible in this regard. It was a very delicious evening. Many many thanks. And thank you also for the leisure tips in this beautiful holiday region.

The location is central to the pedestrian zone, opposite the river. The location is therefore very nice. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside and enjoy the sun. There is enough seating in the restaurant. The menu was clear and there was something from all the classics. You shouldn't expect high Mexican cuisine, but it wouldn't fit either. But to sit nicely and enjoy a tacco, burrito and chili con carne, it's all worth it. The food was well made and tasted good. There was no dedicated parking space. The service was nice and helpful. Conclusion: recommended if you want to eat nicely, with a good view and fancy Mexican food.

We've eaten there several times. The food has always been very tasty. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. There is a waitress there who is extremely snotty. If you don't want the job, please do another one. Once the wrong food was brought and we were kicked out for it. Sometimes we had to wait about an hour for the food. It would be nice if the service became more professional.

I love Mexican food, but unfortunately my expectations were not met. I don't like coriander in my food at all. You can't cancel it either, as the dishes are already (pre?)cooked with it and the herbs aren't just sprinkled on at the end. The tuna carpacchio as a starter and my friend's burger were great, but if I had wanted something like that I wouldn't necessarily have had to go to the Mexican restaurant. Sorry - I tried the tortillas anyway, but unfortunately it wasn't quite my cup of tea.

Fantastic food, great service; very kind personnel and nice and cosy atmosphere with cool decors. I had the burrito with gamba’s, spinach mozzarella abd a lot of other tasty things and it tasted sooo good! The home-made tea was great as well! So yummy! I loved it!! We’ll definitely be coming back if we ever visit Bad Tölz again!
