Living in Ofden-Alsdorf in Alsdorf

We had lunch at Living on a Saturday. The service and food were great, however, we witnessed a staff member outburst towards her colleagues. It was unpleasant and seemed unprofessional.

We spent a wonderful evening here. Great atmosphere and very good food.

The food was tasty, plentiful, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was super cozy. The service was very friendly and attentive. And best of all: they accept card payments! Highly recommended!

We had dinner here tonight. The food was absolutely fantastic; the homemade bread was served warm with herb butter. The fries, schnitzel, and salad were all worth mentioning. Our waiter, Jan, really spoiled us. We even got to help choose the music.

We were there yesterday for the Halloween special with a buffet and I was more than satisfied. There really was something for everyone, and the food was constantly being replenished. What I thought was fantastic was that you could see someone was putting their heart and soul into it; it was beautifully presented. The price was more than reasonable for what was offered. So, a huge thank you again to the entire Living team! Since I used to work at Denkmalplatz in Alsdorf myself, I know all too well that something like what happened yesterday can only be achieved through teamwork.

This is a really good place for breakfast – the selection of different breakfast items is large and everything tastes fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, we had to wait quite a while both to order and for our food to be served. Overall, though, it's a nice place if you have a little more time.

The daily specials were in the restaurant. I picked something delicious, but was told they didn't have the daily specials today. I ordered a burger instead, but the wrong one came out. There was no response when I asked. The table was dirty. I had to ask for cutlery. Never again.

We were there for lunch today. The lunch menu was great value for money, and the soup, in particular, was beautifully presented. Our waiter, Jan, also provided excellent service and made us feel very welcome. ☺️ Thank you for that!

The waiter told us that if we had any problems or if something was missing we should just let them know. Our gourmet platters were combined because there were four of us and we all chose the gourmet platter. They assume that with a platter for four people you get four copies of everything. However, the bread basket, for example, only contained two croissants. I spoke to the waiter and asked if we could get the two missing croissants and they were brought quickly. When we were paying, however, we noticed that the two croissants had been charged extra, at €3.50 each. When we asked why they weren't free, since it was a platter for four people and therefore should have included four croissants, he just replied that it was the chef's decision that you only get one per platter. It wouldn't have been a problem if we had been told there was an extra charge. We felt exploited and found the price of €7 for two croissants far too expensive.

A very nice lady recommended the accommodation in the beautiful, quiet, and relaxing Alsdorf Animal Park. I was happy to walk there for a coffee, a water, and a delicious croissant with jam. The service was super friendly and helpful. And my way back took me past the Broichbacher Weiher lake again. Even as a child from the Eifel region, I found it incredibly beautiful, with so much nature, peace, and relaxation between busy roads.

Unfortunately, I have to say I was very disappointed last night. We were alone on the terrace, and the drinks took forever. It wasn't full at the time. The waiter was very polite and friendly. We had a schnitzel with crispy fried chanterelles, onions, and bacon for a whopping €24.90. There were only fries as a side dish. The chanterelles weren't fried; the onions had only briefly seen the pan, but the bacon was completely burnt. For our second dish, we had homemade bread dumplings in a chanterelle cream sauce. You could tell the bread dumplings were homemade because I had the raw dumplings on my plate. It was horrible. To the waiter's credit, he took the criticism in stride and removed both main courses from the bill. Unfortunately, further visits have done you in for us. In this day and age, when everything has become quite expensive, I expect to get my money's worth. I'm happy to spend money on good food prepared with love. But unfortunately, that wasn't the case yesterday.

The food (vegetarian pizza) was good, and the portions were definitely sufficient. The service was attentive, but a bit slow, even though the restaurant was only about a third full. The ambiance was okay, but nothing exceptional. The value for money was good. All in all, a good restaurant. I would go again.

The food was okay, solid, but nothing exceptional. The ambiance of the small restaurant is cozy, which initially made the visit pleasant. However, from around 9:15 p.m. – on a Saturday evening – we clearly had the feeling that we were no longer welcome. They didn't ask for any more drinks or any special requests, which unfortunately gave the impression that they wanted to end the evening quickly. It's a shame, because the restaurant actually has potential. We'll have to think carefully about whether we'll return.

The support before and on the big day itself was fantastic – we were able to completely relax and simply enjoy ourselves. Our guests were also thrilled: from the food to the service to the atmosphere, the feedback was consistently positive. We particularly appreciated how individually and flexibly our ideas were addressed. They don't just "get things done" here – they work with passion. We've been here several times for breakfast. There's a wide selection of different breakfast dishes. Dogs are no problem at all; our dogs were immediately given water to drink. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

I've been a regular customer for almost a year and have breakfast there once a week. Unfortunately, it's getting worse every time! Today was probably my last visit. My mother ordered everything with cheese, which had a whopping two slices of cheese on it; otherwise, only salad. I always order the omelet with a basket of rolls. We got four rolls, whereas I usually get three times as many. The young man who served us really did his best and was very friendly; the problem seems to be with an older gentleman in the kitchen. It's a shame. I really enjoyed breakfast there and have recommended Living to many friends and acquaintances. Very disappointing...

So far everything's been great, the service had some difficulties today, but that happens sometimes.

I've been a customer for a while, but I'm currently very disappointed. A pizza takes 20 minutes from ordering to serving, with a restaurant capacity of about 8 guests. My empty glass was skillfully ignored, and due to the lack of attention from the service staff, I simply went inside to pay after 10 minutes with an empty glass and empty plate. Incidentally, the wrong food was served to the next table. Summary: Service rather inattentive, food delicious, but a tendency to order incorrectly. Review will be corrected when things improve.

We recently had breakfast at Living. The breakfast looked very good. Unfortunately, some of the salad was shriveled, some of the cheese was very dry, and the sausage and seed rolls were, in my opinion, pre-packaged and reheated. There were definitely too few rolls for the amount of sausage and cold cuts. The ambiance and service are excellent.

We were here with a large group and enjoyed the breakfast. Large plates, bread, rolls, and croissants, jam and chocolate spread, plenty of cold cuts and cheese. Even salmon. Everything was beautifully presented, with fruit and vegetables included. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The ambiance is lovely, and the staff were truly very friendly. 👍 There are indoor and outdoor seating options. The dog was allowed in.

We visited Living In in Alsdorf-Ofden for the first time and were absolutely thrilled. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was very cozy, and the service – especially Yasmin – was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be back!

Before any criticism gets deleted later, like with other restaurants, I'll stick to a purely superficial review and still not mention my well-intentioned criticisms.

We had breakfast there today and were really very satisfied. The cold cuts platter was beautifully presented, everything was fresh and a great selection of sausages and cheeses. The rolls and bread were also fresh and delicious. Since there was so much (and we'd already eaten a lot), we asked if we could have the leftovers packed up, which wasn't a problem at all. We will definitely come again and then also like to try the warm dishes - they smelled very good!

We were invited for a birthday and we enjoyed it. (Buffet) Attractive ambience and attentive, friendly staff.

It's not on the menu, but upon request some vegan options were possible, especially for the salads. The beetroot salad was super delicious! Really refined with mint, chicory and the great bread and a really good portion, good price-performance ratio. Even cheaper by leaving out the feta, thanks for that (unfortunately that's not a given). Sitting outside on the terrace was very nice, but it wasn't really quiet due to the occasional traffic (but the restaurant can't help that). Maybe in the future there will also be the possibility of labeling vegan options or writing something about them on the homepage. Unfortunately there is little vegan choice in Alsdorf, so I always try to find out more in advance.

The food was unusual and very tasty. The soup in the glass and the salad alone are simply delicious. Steaks good meat and tender, even the spagetti bolognese was excellent. Cozy facility.

On Saturday, February 1, 25, we had breakfast in Living for the first time. It was fabulous and very enjoyable. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and taken to the table. The entire team is very friendly and very attentive. The rooms are very pleasantly furnished and you feel very comfortable there. When you look at the overall picture, you immediately notice that it is very tidy and very clean. Our breakfast was surprisingly varied, there was something for everyone and it tasted delicious. The waiter who made us happy with the delicious “sparkling wine ~ sparkling wine” was particularly complimentary. At this point, thank you again for the recommendation. The staff really puts a lot of effort into customer satisfaction and this is very commendable. Our morning at Living was excellent, we felt very comfortable there and would be happy to recommend it. We were very satisfied and will definitely come back.

I would like to report very positively about this restaurant. I originally had a voucher for Living in Stolberg. Since this restaurant has been closed for a long time now, we were able to redeem the voucher there without any problems. The staff was extremely friendly and you felt welcome at all times. The food was sufficient and very tasty, I particularly liked the starter plate for two... I would have preferred more shrimp than olives, but that is ultimately a matter of taste. We were very satisfied.

I had breakfast there again today with my mother. Once again the slightly older employee was out and about with a face that looked like it had been raining for seven days. It's a shame because I think when you work with people you should bring some kindness to the surface. Otherwise it was delicious and beautiful there. PS: We still gave him a tip, but he didn't smile either😅

We had breakfast there a week ago with a larger group. When we arrived we were insulted because we weren't there with 18 people as reserved, but only with 15! We should have let you know if there were fewer people than registered. Since the restaurant opens at 9 a.m., there was unfortunately no time window to announce this, as we had also made a reservation for 9 a.m.! Then a more expensive champagne breakfast was charged, which we hadn't even ordered. In addition, you can only get packaged sausages and cheeses here. When we made the staff aware of the increased price, we received €50 back for 15 people! This did not come close to the price that had already been paid too much! We were definitely there for the last time. Impossible how you treat customers in this location!

There were 12 adults and 5 children who ate there on Boxing Day. I had a salad with goat cheese, which was very tasty… The service, however, was terrible... Unfortunately, the table was not prepared for so many registered people... even after 30 minutes at the table, our drink requests were only accepted upon request... and unfortunately each of us was stuck with just this one drink. The food was brought - no one was seen after that... No one asked if everything was ok, if something was missing or if anyone else wanted something to drink…. Very, very unfortunate….. At this point I would like to mention that all the employees were very friendly - but unfortunately that didn't work out in the end... unfortunately we won't be coming back.

We had dinner here with two couples and were very impressed. Both about the ambience and the service and especially about the food. We were thrilled with everything from the starter to the main course and the dessert. Once again I couldn't decide. There was also a day/season ticket. We were particularly pleased by the attention of the staff: When we went in we chatted because we were celebrating a birthday and there was a small champagne as a welcome toast. Today we were in Living for the first time. The food chosen was close - very close to perfection. Wonderfully tender meat, crunchy vegetables, an excellent pepper sauce with just the right level of spiciness and fries that couldn't be made better. It probably wasn't quite 15 minutes until the food was served after ordering, but this short waiting time was more than worth it. When we visited, the restaurant was well attended and there was a corresponding background noise, but this didn't detract from the culinary enjoyment in any way. Unobtrusive, friendly and brisk staff further enhanced the visit. Our food was more than worth every cent, and the price was clearly reasonable. Overall, a visit to Livin in Ofden is highly recommended. It certainly wasn't our last.

I had breakfast there and don't really know where to start. The establishment definitely leaves something to be desired in terms of sufficient staff in relation to the number of guests. This resulted in a 30 minute wait for a coffee. After about another 20 minutes, breakfast made it to the table. For a breakfast in this price range, the guest should receive something more than a meager amount of pre-packaged cold cuts. It was also loud and crowded! There is definitely no recommendation from me!

We had breakfast at this restaurant this morning with the family. At the beginning we were very overwhelmed by the volume and the narrowness of the rooms, as the place was far too crowded and the music was also booming from the speakers. When we were finally able to order our drinks, we waited a good three quarters of an hour and another same time for the food, as the organization of the waiters in this restaurant is unfortunately not well thought out - 1 waitress for around 100 customers is obviously far too little. They weren't particularly friendly either. The breakfast was nicely prepared, but you can only expect cold cuts from a package. Overall, the living is unfortunately more appearance than reality - nice for Instagram pictures, but not for a delicious and relaxed breakfast with the family.

We went to Living for lunch on a Sunday. The service was attentive and quick. The food was delicious and satisfying. Price/performance was okay, very nice interior design The only drawback was that there were a lot of flies at the table and on the windows, which was very annoying.

It's a nice restaurant, but located on Dorfstrasse. It was a bit uncomfortable on the terrace, just because of the street. The restaurant is warm, cozy and nice. Service was ok 👌 for a restaurant in a small village. The gourmet platter we ordered for 2 + 1x more was beautifully presented with fruit (fresh), cheese 3 types (2 slices each) sausage 3 types (2 slices each) 2 mini jam jars with plenty of butter as well as some smoked salmon and 3 slices of tomato with 3 slices of mozzarella Drink: either O juice or sparkling wine (glass). Rolls and bread coffee had to be taken separately. The price of 16 euros + coffee is really steep. Disappointed 😞 a bit because the neighboring table had the same amount for 2 people. 🫠 It was nice but not again for just under 70 euros

Hello, I was here again today. The breakfast was great as always. What I miss from you is a smile. No matter which one of you it was this morning. Smiling is good for the soul, for you and also for the customers. I was self-employed in the catering industry for 23 years; everyone has a bad day and a lot to do But with humor and heart it's easier. This is a friendly criticism, not a bad one. As I said, I'm usually there for breakfast with someone and unfortunately I keep noticing it. I'll still be happy to come, just for the comfort outside and the delicious food L.g. Irene

We ate here for the first time this evening. The service was good, the employees friendly. The dishes were delicious and freshly prepared. The restaurant was busy inside and outside, but the waiting time was still absolutely normal. Overall, recommended, we will come back again and try other dishes.

Had dinner here with 6 people. The starter platter was great and I can only recommend it, the main course was unfortunately dry with little sauce. The service was friendly but very slow, you would have to make a lot of effort to get drinks otherwise you would die of thirst. So unfortunately overall it wasn't a very good impression. It's questionable whether I would eat here again
