Little Italy in Einbeck

Guests not welcome? We arrived a little late for our reserved table, and only one of us wanted to eat. After taking our food and drink orders, the owner came over and told us that they had run out of food today due to the large number of groups, and that she couldn't offer us anything. She didn't answer our incredulous question as to whether there really was NOTHING to eat. We sat there, somewhat confused, waiting for our drinks. After a while, the other waitress came over and told us that she had to tell us that this restaurant only served drinks with food. She couldn't serve us anything. We were speechless and left the restaurant in a huff. That's never happened to us before, anywhere in the world. A blatant eviction. Our table couldn't be used for other guests so late in the evening. I have to assume that there's no need to make money here. I don't understand customer service at all. I won't be visiting this restaurant again!

A curious blend of Vietnamese and Italian cuisine, perfect if you're traveling with children who aren't so keen on Asian dishes. Our kids really enjoyed the homemade pizzas and penne with chicken in tomato cream sauce, and we loved the summer rolls and curry dishes. In addition to the à la carte menu, there are also daily specials. The restaurant has a small dining room and a terrace. The service is friendly and attentive.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend it at all. The food was cold and took forever to arrive. The service staff seemed to prefer playing on their phones to attending to the guests...

The worst customer service I see in my life!

I can't understand some of the very negative reviews. I often wonder if the "competition" writes them. 👎 We went there yesterday, despite recommending another Italian restaurant and reading the reviews on Google...and we didn't regret it. 👍We had the daily specials: veal liver with onions and spaghetti and the grilled squid with vegetables. Both were absolutely delicious, as were the wines. The service was fast and very attentive...full marks from us. If we're ever in Einbeck again, this will be one of our two favorite places in Einbeck.

I ordered homemade pasta (strozzapreti) from the menu, but I got bland packaged spirelli drowned in a careless sauce made from canned tomatoes. Instead of basil, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar, cheap pesto from a jar was poured onto the Caprese salad. Absolutely unacceptable. The service was friendly, but that doesn't make up for the poor food. I wouldn't recommend it. I have no idea how the 5-star reviews came about.

Very tasty food, friendly staff. The restaurant is very small and a bit cramped, but the food is delicious and prepared with love.

The meal was very bad. The curry didn't taste like curry at all; it tasted more like water. The noodles were also very bad. They were like they'd been reheated. The salmon on the noodles wasn't fresh either... As for the ambiance, everything was dusty and very uncomfortable. You could save your money; you'd be annoyed if you went there.

We received a very warm welcome. The food was super fresh, super delicious, and the portions were great value for money! My birthday is coming up soon, and I'll be spending it here. Great boss 🙏🏼 Thank you for this experience in Einbeck. We had almost given up hope of good food, service, and a cozy atmosphere. We would have loved freshly ground pepper to accompany such delicious food.

My first and last visit to this restaurant. The ravioli tasted terrible—the pasta was hard, the filling not tasty. It came with a bit of sauce that tasted of nothing. The atmosphere was unpleasant. The restaurant was dead silent, and instead of pleasant background music, a radio with traffic and weather reports came from the kitchen. The service was initially perfectly fine. However, after we had finished our meal and sat there for about 20 minutes, instead of asking if we wanted another drink, we were asked to leave with the words, "Do you really want to pay now?!" Mind you, there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant next to ours, and it was nowhere near closing time.

Great place, awesome food! Be patient, the owner, who is wonderful, also prepares all the food. Definity worth it.

A beautiful little restaurant with a warm, friendly owner. Just like every time today, we enjoyed eating with joy, veal liver with pasta, onion and parmesan... delicious... and salad of course. Unfortunately there were only three of us today, Easter Monday, and we all ordered something different, each of us, as always, thrilled with the food, the atmosphere and the boss, who cooks excellently. You're already looking forward to the next time.

Never had such a bad pizza. We were out and about in Einbeck and the shop looked like a nice little Italian restaurant. At least that's how it sells when it comes to pictures, tablecloths and names. At second glance we saw that other international dishes were also offered here. International restaurants usually mean nothing good, but we gave the place a chance. The pizza was really inedible. Every frozen pizza is 100x better. The pizza was so dry that the dough was falling apart, I can't judge the tomato sauce because there was so little on it that you couldn't taste it and the cheese was just disgusting. I suspect analogue cheese. And €11.90 for that. By the way, I've had diarrhea since today and I didn't eat anything else yesterday. Please avoid this store. How this store can have such good reviews is beyond my comprehension. I recommend turning the place into an Asian takeaway or restaurant and staying away from foods they can't do! According to the other reviews, the Asian food doesn't seem to be bad?!

A nice little restaurant in Einbeck City, right on the market square. Space is limited and the dishes in “Marco Polo” are based on the historical long-distance traveler Marco Polo. Hence the concept of combining Italian and Asian cuisine. As I think it should be for a restaurant in Einbeck, Einbeck beer is also offered, in addition to the usual selection of drinks. There is a menu with standard dishes and a daily menu. We ordered veal liver with penne arrabiata and penne with chicken in tomato cream sauce. Very tasty prepared with a reasonable waiting time. The price-performance ratio corresponds to the portion size. Highly recommended when visiting Einbeck.

The food was not professionally cooked. It wasn't very clean in the dining room. The room was too narrow and a guest brought a large dog.

We were looking in the evening, after a long car ride, on December 26th. an open restaurant. By chance we walked past this little restaurant and stopped in. The welcome was very friendly and the food was delicious.

Went to visit friends in Einbeck and stopped here. Service was great and so was the food. We had fried veal liver with spagetti aglio olio and tagliatelle with fresh salmon in cream-tomato-parmesan sauce. Both were very tasty and here the boss cooks herself. I would recommend making a reservation as the Ristorante only has a few seats.

We sat down at the table outside and just wanted something to drink. We were then turned away from the table with the statement: “You can’t just drink, you can eat too.” Doesn't work at all...

Had dinner there last night. The first thing we wanted to do was order a flat wine. Answer, we didn't just have the very large bottles, well, it's a shame an Italian doesn't have any bottles of wine, so a glass of wine. Ordered food, starter bruchetta, well halved tomatoes on dry bread and then I ordered a pizza, unfortunately my husband ordered a Thai curry with prawns, so that was really terrible, never again

Quite small, but with seats in front of the restaurant, nice atmosphere and quick service. We had a really tasty meal there and at good prices. The menu was very tasty and sufficient. Next visit to Einbeck, then our destination again - highly recommended!

There was no one in the restaurant, just in the kitchen. I called about 10 because I wanted a menu. At some point an annoyed waitress came. Since I didn't want to disturb, I left. A pity

This is how gastronomy works! We originally wanted to order pizza there, but at the time this was only possible with a wait. So we changed our minds, chose other dishes and were pleasantly surprised! The restaurant is small and fine, delicious food, absolutely correctly portioned and a great ambience, nothing crazy! The service was very good and not so artificially distant. Not least thanks to the stunning owner, we felt very comfortable and have fond memories of the visit! A real insider tip, probably not for long... Keep it up dear Linh, the concept, cuisine and charm are unmistakable!

Never again!!! I've never eaten such bad pizza. The frozen pizza is 100% better. What surprises me is the reviews about the best pizza in town.

The food here tastes really delicious. The selection could be a little more. The staff and the boss are friendly and accommodating. The ambience in the unfortunately small restaurant is also beautifully designed. Enjoy eating here.

A super cute little restaurant in Einbeck. There is really good Italian and Thai food here. There is also always a weekly menu with very tasty fresh dishes. I like being here. The conditions are very friendly and the shop is comfortably furnished. My conclusion 8/10 Definitely worth a visit. :)

We ate and drank in the locality with 4 adults. Since the restaurant is quite small, we reserved seats in advance. We received a very friendly welcome and were given plenty of time to choose the food. The menu is clear, but offers something for every taste. The food was beyond any doubt. It looked great and tasted very tasty. The service was friendly and very quick despite the store being full.

Small and cozy restaurant with great cuisine. To put together the Italian and Vietnamese menu you just have to read the "instructions" in the menu; this is chosen intentionally. In any case, my wife and I had ordered dishes from both nations, both great and obviously freshly made. We were lucky to be the first, there was even more peace and quiet in the company and we were able to chat briefly with the operating family. Definitely we will come back when we are in the area.

Asian / Italian cuisine. A little special at first glance. We decided on Asian food with 4 people because the staff also came from Asia. That was the right decision. The food was extremely good. We can't judge the Italian food. Unfortunately we come from Hanover. Otherwise, Marco Polo would be one of our favorite restaurants. It gets 6 stars from us 🌟. Kleine schönes Restaurant, super freundliches Personal. Das Essen war ein Gaumenschmaus und die Portionen haben eine ordentliche Größe, so dass ein guter Esser satt wird. Auf Anfrage durfte unser Hund auch mit rein. Macht weiter so. Top Job.

Ich habe schon lange nicht mehr so was Gutes gegessen. Superfrisch, man konnte den feinen Geschmack der Speisen erkennen, kein 08/15 Brei mit Geschmacksverststärker sondern richtig gut, mit viel Know-how zubereitete Speisen. Mein Mann und ich waren begeistert und kommen definitiv ganz bald wieder.

Sehr schönes, kleines Lokal mit einem Aussenbereich in der Fussgängerzone. Eine sehr junge Bedienung, die sehr bemüht war freundlich und höflich zu sein, damit aber etwas überfordert war, weil ihr wohl noch ganz normale Umgangsformen fehlen......aber, wie gesagt, sie war bemüht. Der Inhalt der Speisekarte war etwas verwirrend....entweder italienische oder asiatische Gerichte. Wahrscheinlich wäre es besser, wenn man sich in eine Richtung konzentrieren würde. Uns hat das Essen nicht sonderlich geschmeckt. Preise völlig okay. Wir kommen nicht wieder, für unser Geld bekommen wir in Einbeck besseres.

Zur Begrüßung nur die Frage "Essen oder Trinken". Da wir essen wollten durften wir Platz nehmen. Als wir die Karten bekamen wollten wir, wie eigentlich üblich, schonmal ein Getränk bestellen, was uns verweigert wurde. Nach einiger Zeit kam die asiatische Frau, trotz weniger Kunden wirkte sie sehr genervt, wieder an unseren Tisch. Wir bestellten nun Getränke und unsere Pizzen. "Pizza nicht" gab es als Antwort. Da die Speisekarte nicht so umfangreich war, wagte ich mich die Frage zu stellen, warum sie dies nicht direkt gesagt hatte und wurde daraufhin von ihr angefaucht. Zum Glück sprach sie sehr schnell und undeutlich, so dass ich sie nicht verstehen konnte. Beruhigenderweise durften wir, während unseres Aufenthaltes in dieser Stadt feststellen, dass ein derart unfreundlichen Verhalten nicht dem Standart entspricht.

Getränke gibt es nur in Verbindung mit essen. Sehr unfreundliches Personal, ein Schlaglicht für das schöne Einbeck 👎

Wir waren schon oft im Marco Polo und wurden nie enttäuscht. Leckeres Essen, egal ob italienisch oder asiatisch. Und das beste Bruschetta gibt es hier auch :-)

Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich, aber voller richtiger Knüller !! Ein kleines unscheinbares Restaurant in der Fußgängerzone von Einbeck mit Asiatischer und Italienischer Küche. Ich hatte Triangolie mit Ricotta-Spinatfüllung in Weißweinsoße. Das war eine Geschmacksexplosion, einfach der Hammer. Meine Frau hatte ein Curry bestellt was auch hervorragend ausgesehen hat und schmeckte. Für die Kinder gab es Nudeln mit Tomatensoße. Die asiatische Serviceangestellte war sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Zum Schluß das Preis / Leistungsverhältnis war auch völlig in Ordnung. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder !!!❤️❤️❤️

Schönes, kleines Lokal mit Gartenterrasse mitten im verkehrsberuhigten teil der Altstadt. Die Auswahl der Speisen hatte ich so auch noch nie gesehen. Es gibt Italienische und asiatische Speisen. Wenn man die attraktive Chefin anschaut weiß man auch sofort in welche Richtung man bestellen sollte. Natürlich asiatisch. Das war dann auch sehr fein und reichlich.

Ein kleines Restaurant mit sehr gutem Essen. Ich hatte Pasta Carbonara und es war köstlich. Die Kellnerin ist sehr aufmerksam und unglaublich hübsch. Danke

Die Beschreibung Klein aber fein trifft bei diesem Restaurant ins Schwarze. Unser bester Italiener in der Stadt. Kleine Karte mit tollen Gerichten, Essen schmeckt immer super, am besten mit einem Lambrusco draußen in der Sonne genießen, Guten Appetit.

Tagliatelle Al Salmone, mein Lieblingsessen wurde hier perfekt zubereitet. Die Atmosphäre ist toll und die Köchin/Chefin super freundlich.

Italienisch haben wir gegessen (asiatisch gibt es hoch) Sehr lecker. Zu empfehlen. Kleine außergewöhnliche Karte mit zusätzlicher Tageskarte. Keine 0815 Gerichte.

Interessante thailändisch italienische Mischung auf der Speisekarte. Aber äußerst nette Damen die mit sehr viel Liebe kochen. Es hat alles hervorragend geschmeckt.

The restaurant is very cute and cozy. The staff there was very friendly and the service was quite quick also. They have a wide option of pastas and pizzas. They also have vegetarian options. The food was very tasty and the portions were very good and very filling for the price. I would definitely reccomend.

Komplett freie Tische, mit 4 Personen haben wir uns erdreistet einen Stuhl zum 3er Tisch zu holen, ohne zu fragen. Die Besitzerin hat angeschautzt, keine Getränke ohne Essen und das wir unverschämt sind, weil wir den Stuhl genommen haben (alle Tische draußen frei). Sie war richtig richtig unfreundlich und ich könnte schwören das sie uns in ihrer Heimatsprache beleidigt hat. Kurz zu uns meine Schwiegereltern beide Ende 70 und wir beide Anfang 40. Ihre Worte : geht weg hier gibt es für euch nichts

Die Pizza war so hart,dass sie leider nicht essbar war und mehr als 3/4 zurück gegangen ist.Reaktion auf unsere Aussage kam gar keine, bezahlt werden musste sie auch.Da kann man leider nur negativ bewerten,auch wenn die anderen beiden Gerichte okay waren.Schade aber nochmal werden wir dort nicht essen

Top Service. Sommerröllchen immer und vor allem bei bei +30 Grad sehr zu empfehlen :-). Curry auch sehr gut. Schönes Ambiente.

Bad staff! The girl working there is totally rude. After ten minutes of waiting at the table she came over. When we said we wanted to eat pizza, she said they didn't have pizza and that we should go somewhere else. Probably if we had ordered a more expensive dish, we would have been served express. I will never come here again, and I recommend it to everyone.

Wir sitzen einen halbe Stunden dort und schauen in die Speisekarte, damit sie mir dann unhöflich sagt das sie keine Pizzen mehr macht weil es ihr zu voll ist und wir sollten doch gefälligst wo anderes hingehen. Super service ( Ironie aus ) da gehen wir nie wieder hin.

Es sollte ein schöner Kinoabend werden, vorher noch schön Essen gehen, das war der Plan. Ins Marco Polo schien schön die Sonne auf einen Fensterplatz mit Blick auf den herrlichen Einbecker Marktplatz, den wir uns ausgesucht hatten. Leider wurden wir recht rüde an einen Zweiertisch mit schmuddeliger Tischdecke umplatziert. Begründung: der schöne 4 er Tisch am Fenster sollte frei bleiben falls noch Gäste kommen sollten. Den gefüllten Tintenfisch, den ich hier schon mal gegessen hatte und den ich unbedingt wieder wollte, weil ich mich schon den ganzen Tag drauf gefreut hatte, gab`s auch nicht. Die restliche Karte sprach mich nicht wirklich an. Wir haben daraufhin das Lokal verlassen, das war das erste Mal, dass wir so etwas gemacht haben. Nach dem wir sehr gut im "Gigant" gegessen hatten und dem Kino kamen wir hier wieder vorbei, im Lokal war nix los und Ironie der Geschichte: am 4 er Tisch saßen zwei Personen und genossen den Blick auf den Marktplatz… Fazit: so nett das Marco Polo von außen auch aussieht, einfach weiter gehen, es gibt genug gute Gastronomie in Einbeck wo man freundlicher behandelt wird.

Ich bin sehr happy mit dem Restaurant insgesamt. Die eher ungewöhnliche Kombination aus Italienischer und Asiatischer Küche passt erstaunlich gut, wir hatten das Curry und eine Pizza Hawaii, beides hat hervorragend geschmeckt. Auf der Pizza war viel Käse, weshalb ich erst skeptisch war, da mir das bei den meisten Restaurants so eher selten schmeckt. Der Käse hat aber sehr lecker geschmeckt und in Kombination mit einer Tomatensauce, die sehr frisch schmeckte, hat das dann auch wieder gepasst. Alles von Boden der Pizza, bis zum Belag hat gestimmt, eine sehr nette Bedienung und eine schöne aussicht auf die Innenstadt. Hierfür gebe ich gerne 5 Sterne.

Kein Service ist schlechter Service! Es erschließt sich mir nicht mehrere Tische unbesetzt zu lassen wenn nur noch 60min geöffnet hat. Wir man mit 4 Pers. mit dem Satz begrüßt: Keine Getränke ohne Essen. An einem Samstag Nachmittag bei 20°C in einer belebten Innenstadt. Aber wenn man sich schlechten Service leisten kann, dann verdient man sich auch eine schlechte Bewertung.
