I bought a doner kebab and the meat was cold. It wasn't sliced ​​fresh; the meat had been sitting there for a while. It was tasteless, and the bread was hard, like it was stale. I also bought an ayran, which tasted like water, and the fact that they still call it ayran is outrageous. I definitely wouldn't recommend it. I won't be going back there anytime soon.

I went there on a Monday specifically to try the vegan doner kebab. Unfortunately, there was no kebab on a spit, but rather, as is so often the case, warm strips of soy meat. I'm not entirely sure what that was. Then, sadly, the only vegan options were hot sauce and hummus, so the whole meal was quite dry. The portion was also very small for €13. The service, however, was super friendly.

Good, solid doner kebab with very good service. The atmosphere isn't great, but it's okay. There's sometimes a bit of a wait, but it usually goes relatively quickly. They offer free tea after your meal, which is really cool.

All in all, though, it was great, and we'd definitely go back.

I ordered a doner kebab box with just meat, tzatziki, and hot sauce. What I received, however, was half a box full of fries and maybe 50-60 grams of meat, if that. For €9, that's really disappointing. The taste was okay, but the value for money and the execution of the order were completely unacceptable. I'm unlikely to order from them again.

The doner roll and the doner plate were delicious! There were three different meats to choose from (chicken, yaprak, and veal skewer). The meat was very tasty, well-seasoned, and juicy. All the breads were baked in-house; you can even watch them being made. A fantastic, diverse selection of salads and sauces. You can even get feta cheese for no extra charge. We were given lentil soup, dips, fresh bread, and tea, all on the house! The service was very attentive and polite. The only drawback: it was very loud and hectic due to the high demand. But it moved quickly; the guys and girls were great at what they did. We'd be happy to come back! Highly recommended!

The best kebab in town! They always serve super fresh salad in kebabs and rolls. The sauces are fantastic. The Lister salad is highly recommended if you're not in the mood for meat. Huge portions and super tasty. And after all these years, the owners still seem to be really into it. Don't let the long line put you off; it just means it's definitely worth the wait. They often even offer little treats like apple tea or samplers if you have to wait a bit longer, but it usually goes very quickly. Great place!

About five minutes after leaving the shop, I was already sitting down to eat – only to discover that the doner roll wasn't warm enough and the dough was neither crispy nor crunchy, but rather wobbly. A real shame. I know a few kebab shops, especially in Dresden and Leipzig, and I have to say: There's a world of difference between them and the Lister Döner – in terms of taste, preparation, and atmosphere. Therefore, I only give it three points. The staff, however, were very friendly and cheerful despite the hustle and bustle.

Hey, what I really don't understand: It was packed, and for all the hype, the kebab was a total disappointment. There was far too little meat, but there was endless salad, and for €8, sorry, I expected more. We'll stick with our regular kebab place; they have more meat and sauce, the €6 price is great, and the kebab is filled to perfection. But the place was really awful, sorry.

No wonder it's considered one of the best kebabs in Lower Saxony! Despite the crowds, the service is top-notch: The team works quickly and efficiently, and you'll often even be offered a tea or a snack while you're waiting in line—a really nice gesture! When I'm in Hanover, I like to eat kebabs here. Unfortunately, the last two times I've had the experience that the steak kebab was stringy and stringy. A quarter of the meat was inedible. I think that's a shame. It's advertised as a steak kebab and didn't meet my expectations. I asked the waiter about it. I was told that this was unavoidable and normal. I don't understand why. With select meat, the quality can vary. I hope this was an exception and that I can enjoy the usual quality again in the future.

Yes, ... I was there today during the evening rush. Still, a fair comment: Unfortunately, the bread wasn't toasted crisply, and the meat was lukewarm (relatively not). For me, the competitors from Linden are clearly ahead. And one last question: Why do you have to navigate a labyrinth of racetracks and barriers before ordering?

But that's completely understandable given the high customer volume, but all in all, a good, solid kebab, no question... A warm family and staff who definitely give their best, and what they do is really good 👍🏼 Still, I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the best kebab in Lower Saxony, because you just have to be fair to the other competitors, but it's certainly one of the best in town!!! I've had Lister Döner on my list for two years. I was in Hanover for work and took the opportunity to eat here. I tried both the steak doner and the chicken doner. I really enjoyed the meat in both, especially the steak doner. I'd leave out the pomegranate seeds and radishes on my next visit, though (I just wanted to try it, but it's not my thing at all. Tomatoes, cucumbers, and iceberg lettuce are, in my opinion, the best combination with a little Pulbiber and maybe a dash of lemon juice). The bread tastes good, but because it's round, some of it falls out when eating, so perhaps they could change the shape. For ayran lovers, the homemade ayran is a must; it's among the tastiest ayran I've ever had. In terms of appearance and presentation, no ayran can compare to this one. If you were to paint a picture of the most beautiful ayran, it would probably look something like this. Elephant Bay also offers iced tea, which I think is the most delicious iced tea ever (my favorites are pomegranate, mango-pineapple, and watermelon).

Whenever we're in Hanover—even just passing through—we always go to Lister Döner. Today we were there again for the conclusion of the German Target Shooting Championships. My "championship sports shooter" tried the steak doner for the first time and loved it. I had one with veal. Everything with herbs, spices, and pomegranate seeds in homemade doner bread, served personally at our table! And the ayran from their own "fountain" is so refreshing. For me, the best doner in Germany!

I went for a kebab for the second time today. It was the best kebab I've had in ages. I had one with halloumi and a large kebab. Both were absolutely delicious. For dessert, I had tea and baklava. Highly recommended. I'd be happy to come back.

I never expected it to be this good. Extremely good meat, fresh salad, fantastic sauces, and the homemade bread paired perfectly. I've never had Sigara Börek as good as it did here. The chef was incredibly friendly, and the service was exceptional. And in Hanover, a must-try in my opinion.

The Better Kebab Shop You'll have to wait in line like you're at a club, but you'll get a reasonably priced kebab with very fresh ingredients. My personal tip is to go for the beef. But that's a matter of taste, of course.

For me, Lister Döner is by far the best kebab shop in Hanover! The meat is always fresh and perfectly seasoned, the sauces are homemade and truly delicious, and the vegetables are crisp and aromatic. What truly makes this shop special, however, is the owner himself: He warmly greets every guest, takes the time for a quick chat, and makes you feel immediately welcome. You can tell he's passionate about what he does and wants to offer his guests not only great food but also a taste of hospitality. Anyone who's been here once is guaranteed to come back – highly recommended!

Very stable, but not quite living up to the hype. Update: I was back after a year's hiatus, and the impression is the same. Tasty, but horrendously overpriced (€8.50 for the doner kebab) and simply nothing special if you're used to above-average doner kebabs.

I'd love to give the service another star, but unfortunately it's not possible. We had a nice chat with the staff and were given baklava and tea. And all this despite the fact that the food was amazing anyway and spoke for itself. We'd be happy to go back!

I came here because they're supposed to have one of the best kebabs in Germany. I got there around 12pm and there was no line, so I was able to order straight away. I was immediately greeted by a friendly member of staff. You can choose from three types of meat. I went for the classic veal. The kebab was prepared quickly and brought to my table. While eating, you could tell that you were eating something really well thought out. The bread is homemade and tasted really good. The veal was juicy and good, but not overly tasty. The salad and sauces were simply fantastic. I also ordered baklava and ayran. The ayran was homemade and incredibly tasty! The baklava was also a real treat. I even got a free tea, which I've never experienced before; world-class service! I could have even had a second one, but there wasn't room after such a good and plentiful meal. The place rightly has such a good reputation!

I don't understand why these kebab shops are the best in Lower Saxony 🤣🤣 The steak meat tastes like it's half-plastic and the veal tastes like Domestos. So many people still go there for fake kebabs, I don't understand it, but I think marketing does everything.

The only criticism is that there are unfortunately very few seats inside. It's probably difficult to eat there in winter or in bad weather. Despite everything, I'd like to say again that the kebab is absolutely amazing. I had the one with steak and grilled vegetables. We've been here more than once and are ready to return. It's delicious, the meat is incredibly tasty, there's lots of vegetables and sauce. I absolutely love the pomegranate in the shawarma. The potatoes are very crispy and juicy. The ayran is not salty and very tender. We were lucky that there weren't many people in front of us, but sometimes you have to wait for 10-15 minutes.

We're visiting Hanover and wanted to try the kebab because of the many positive reviews and positive media coverage. The line, and therefore the wait, wasn't very long for 6 p.m. that evening. The staff was very friendly, and we were offered tea while waiting. The men had rather assertive looks but weren't rude either. Because we wanted to eat in, a very nice young woman escorted us to our table, who then brought us drinks and cleared our plates at the end. She also offered us more tea, which we declined. All in all, it was a nice visit, but the Lister kebab won't be our top priority on our next visit to Hanover.

I came across the Lister Döner through Instagram and YouTube. With high expectations, I ordered a doner kebab. The ingredients were all fresh, and the meat looked good. But I didn't like the bread or the sauces. And I doubt it's the 7th best kebab in Germany. There are at least 10 better kebabs in Berlin. Okay, you can't compare it to a Berlin kebab. But I felt like something was missing.

Another visit to Lister and, as always, TOP! I highly recommend it! The guys are doing a great job!

We had a halloumi doner kebab, a large fries, and a doner roll with halloumi. It was my first time at the shop and I didn't see the point in queuing for a doner kebab. A doner kebab is still a snack, not a refined gourmet meal. After surviving the line, I was treated like I was at a train station: no "hello," but rather the order was recited without a menu. I was prepared and had the menu open on my smartphone. Then I was told to get into one of the three rows and wait until my name was called. Here, too, it was like being in a departure hall. They asked for sauces and meat. I added my order as requested and continued waiting. Then they pressed the bag with the goods into my hand, and I was free to leave. No "thank you," no "bye." When I got home, I have to say that the size was reasonable for the price, but they used hardly any sauces or seasonings. We ate dry lamb and—at least—fresh salad. The doner kebab had nothing to offer in terms of taste. I've never had anything so neutral. The roll was similar. The ingredients left almost no flavor in the mouth. You ate it to fill you up, not to "experience" something. The fries tasted good - at least. Bottom line: you really don't need to stand in line and be rudely served for a tasteless doner kebab and roll. You'd be able to handle that if the food was unique. But in our case, it wasn't. We won't be going to "Lower Saxony's No. 1" again.

The three of us ate and drank exactly €40. They deducted €46 from our bill. I remembered that on the way back. I also paid a €4 tip. Of course, there was no receipt. Who knows how often this happens?? The food was just average anyway. So, once and NEVER AGAIN! I'll be honest, and you can keep my €10. Since it was really rather subpar, we "HONESTLY" won't be coming back!!

I was recommended this great kebab shop on the plane; it's a great tip. The wait was worth it; they had a super-delicious big kebab sandwich with a choice of chicken, veal, or (for €1 more, I got steak and meat). My plate was brought to my seat. I was also asked if everything was okay and if I wanted any other drinks. They make the delicious ayran themselves. A must-try next time I'm in Hanover. I was there again the other day. I was at Lister Döner once and wanted to check out the hype that the community is making about. And I have to say, yes, the community is right. It tastes excellent. I had a doner kebab parcel with beef and vegetables prepared for me. And it really does taste different to other doner kebab parcels. The difference to other kebab shops is that it is better seasoned. Here, whether it is meat or tzatziki, they prepare it with special spices and a lot of love. If you don't notice a difference at first bite, you have a confused taste. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Abdullah for the excellent tea. It brightened my day on a rainy day. Thank you, Abdullah, for being there, and thank you also to the brothers for bringing us such a delicious doner kebab to Hanover.
