We had a wonderful evening at Limani and were amazed by the quality of the food and the warm atmosphere. The starters were a real highlight - fresh, aromatic and perfectly seasoned. We were particularly impressed by the Mediterranean mezes! The absolute highlight, however, was the entrecôte – grilled to perfection, incredibly tender and with a fantastic aroma. The side dishes were equally delicious and rounded off the taste experience perfectly. The service was attentive, friendly and authentic - you really feel like you're in Greece. We'll definitely be back! Absolute recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy Greek cuisine at the highest level.

Very friendly staff - great atmosphere

The quality and care in preparation have decreased significantly. The stuffed grape leaves were mushy, as if they had been in the microwave for too long. The calamari in the fritto misto was hard rubber and inedible. The veal liver is full of tendons and fried for too long. In return we got 2 espressos on the house. Didn't comfort us either

# A Greek Meze Paradise Along the Rhein Our evening by the Rhein River turned into an unforgettable Greek culinary journey. The outdoor setting provided the perfect backdrop for a parade of exceptional mezes that still linger in our memories. The mixed mousse, tarama, tzatziki and aubergine dips started our feast wonderfully. The beetroot salad with goat cheese created a perfect harmony of flavors, while the eggplant rolls with feta cheese in tomato sauce were quite possibly the most delicious we've ever encountered. Their homemade vine leaves demonstrated what this classic dish should truly taste like – tender leaves wrapped around fragrant rice with cooling mint yoghurt. The grilled octopus was masterfully prepared, tender and reminiscent of authentic dishes from Greek islands. The fried baby calamari were impossibly fresh and delicate – a true testament to quality seafood preparation. The Kefalotiri cheese in filo pastry with truffle honey was so delightful that we enjoyed it as both starter and dessert. Two meat dishes surprised us: veal liver with onions and white wine sauce was remarkably soft and juicy, while the rabbit Stifado featured the most tender rabbit we've experienced, delicately spiced with hints of star anise in a rich red wine sauce that left us wanting more. What elevated the experience further was the attentive yet unobtrusive service. When selecting our third wine, our knowledgeable waiter offered a generous tasting experience, pouring samples of three different wines while expertly explaining the grape varieties and characteristics of each. This personalized attention helped us make the perfect selection to complement our meal. The casual, cozy ambiance was enhanced by thoughtfully chosen background music that complemented both the Mediterranean cuisine and the flowing river nearby. The rhythm of the evening unfolded naturally as we shared plates, stories, and laughter with friends. Despite living quite far away, we're already planning our return visit. We had dinner at Limani this evening. Not only did we have to wait almost 2 hours for the food, but you also get a steak that is streaked with fat and fried as the chef perhaps thinks is right because the guests' wishes were ignored. There was also a small potato gratin, which was not fresh, and dried mushrooms that were briefly pulled through the pan. Everything is totally loveless. Starter was not fried feta cheese, but came from the microwave. Briefly heated up and ready. The prices are unreasonable for this poor service and poor food.

Recommended restaurant directly on the Rhine promenade. Outside in the spacious square there are little things to eat, Greek tapas and drinks, it's a lovely place to sit. It's quite nice here. Toilets well maintained, nice outdoor terrace with a view of the Rhine. Nothing was eaten, but what was taken out looked very good. Beer 0.2l €2.50, 0.3l €3.50 (2025/02). Waiter slowly gets used to me and that I don't want to eat today. Kir Royal is as hoped.

We always enjoy going there. Large selection of small dishes (from tzatziki, tarama, to pulpo or veal liver). Everything tastes very good. I don't think we've ever eaten main courses there because 3 or 4 of the starters are always enough for two of us. Nice selection of Greek wines and all with a direct view of the Rhine. If the weather is nice, you can also sit outside on the terrace.

Even though we had reserved, there was no table available. We then waited, but guests who arrived after us got the only free table because they had reserved online and not by phone like we did. At some point we gave up and went to eat somewhere else.

Was surprised with my 1 year wedding anniversary here. 1h waiting a booked table, we are still waiting. Another couple arrived and was sorted before us because the hostess thought “we were happy at the bar” - yes we are a happy couple but we’re not eating and waiting here for ever

Wir waren zu 9 Personen vor Ort und hatten einen sehr schönen Abend. Anfangs war es aufgrund der Fülle im Lokal sehr laut, sodass man sich leider kaum unterhalten konnte. Das wurde zu späterer Stunde deutlich besser und angenehmer. Mit den Speisen, Getränken sowie Service waren wir sehr zufrieden. Bei der großen Auswahl an mezedes (Vorspeisen) hat jeder aus der Gruppe was Passendes gefunden. Auch die Getränkeauswahl konnte alle glücklich machen. Und obwohl es sehr voll war, kam keine Hektik auf und wir waren vom freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Service sehr angetan. Wir kommen gerne wieder, - das nächste Mal vielleicht im Sommer, um die Terrasse und den Blick auf den Rhein zu erleben. Die Tiefgarage Rheinauhafen direkt unter dem Lokal ist praktisch, aber leider sehr teuer!

The best are the 2 Rhine terraces. The ambience is upscale, the staff is friendly and the wine list is extensive. Two of us ordered beef steaks, a starter and a salad and waited 90 minutes for the food. It didn't hit a cooked point and the spinach crunches between your teeth. All in all... Definitely great for a good bottle of wine. PS Having negative reviews removed by a lawyer for defamation etc. shows character.

Wir können nach heute Abend die negativen Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen, selbst ein Vorziehen der Reservierung um 30 Minuten war kein Problem. Die Vorspeisen (Schafskäse und Fritto Miso) als auch die Hauptgerichte (Maishähnchen und Entrecote) waren geschmackvoll zubereitet, das Fleisch war auf den Punkt. Der Service war freundlich und kompetent. Wir kommen wieder, keine Frage.

Our turkish friends invited us to this restaurant. The food was great. We had different meze such as shrimp saganaki, kalamari, grilled octopus, plate of greek dips. The seafood was cooked to perfection, and the waiter suggested us some wine to have with it. Really enjoyed the evening and friendly atmosphere.

Nuestros amigos turcos nos invitaron a este restaurante. La comida era genial. Teníamos diferentes meze como camarones saganaki, calamares, pulpo a la parrilla, plato de salsas griegas. El marisco estaba cocinado a la perfección, y el camarero nos sugirió un poco de vino para tomar con él. Realmente disfruté de la noche y el ambiente agradable.

Die mitarbeiter könnön nichts dafür wenn der Ober Chef völlig fehl am Platz ist. Darf man was sagen..? Nein ! Man wird ignoriert . Wir sassen viel zu eng. Man will dort nur Geld machen aber man kann besser in eine Kantine essen . Schade. Wir hatten viel mehr erwartet. Nächstes mal lese ich erst was die andere Gäste schon darüber geschriben hatten.

Navi blocked due to construction site. We would have to walk a long time! The terrace closed (October). Inside was very crowded. The room was too loud for me. We had reserved but no table was marked. Given that the restaurant is featured everywhere among the 10 best in Cologne, our visit was unfortunately disappointing.

We have eaten there again and again for years. The last time - about 2 months ago - we were disappointed with the service. Last night was catastrophic! The service as a whole (3 people) were completely overwhelmed. The food was "slammed" onto the table without any words. Several guests simply left because they weren't served after a long wait...The food itself is good, but in the end it's overpriced. We have never experienced such an uncomfortable and, above all, loud and hectic evening in a restaurant in this price range. Too bad! We'll try again in the summer, then at least you have a view of the Rhine - if you can sit outside.

If you order a coffee to go on the terrace, you won't receive a lid. What's the point of a coffee to go without a lid and it spills over while you're running. The food was okay, but I don't remember it so positively that I have to visit the restaurant again. When I visited Limani in the Agrippina shipyard in Cologne, I was excited about the food and the atmosphere. My wife and I decided on a steak and bifteki, and although the food was good, it didn't blow us away. The ambience was fine, but the real highlight was the terrace overlooking the Rhine - simply beautiful. It seems like many visitors have had similar experiences. Some praise the food, but don't necessarily find it outstanding. Others emphasize the beautiful location right on the river and the pleasant terrace. All in all, I would recommend Limani for a relaxing evening.

Best location for Greek cuisine in Cologne

For 120€ (with tip) for 7 excellent but small starters (mezedes), 3 small glasses of (house) wine and 2 small Greek coffees, we would have liked at least a small gift such as a sweet with the coffee or an alcoholic nightcap. Nothing like that received. The recommended Meteora wine was at best of good house wine quality and was overpriced. And for example there were only 4 sardines on the plate. No main courses beyond €30. Where is the proverbial generosity and filoxenia of the Greeks? Not in Limani in Cologne. And no paper invoice available, only electronically as a total for payment. Confusing and non-transparent. We are disappointed about this.

The food is good and well cooked, but the service is not commensurate with the price in my opinion. The reception is cold, or rather there is no organized reception. 5 people from the restaurant walk past you and back again without speaking to you for minutes. When someone finally comes to speak to you, you are told that your table is not ready and you will have to wait. I didn't get a table directly on the banks of the Rhine, as I had asked when making the reservation, as these tables cannot be reserved, but a group of four people who arrived without a reservation were able to get a table directly on the banks of the Rhine. The waiter on the terrace is very nice and helpful. There are lots of large spiders on the patio lamps above the tables and we were worried one might fall on us or on our plate.

There were also problems with the coffees: my coffee crema was only half full. After I pointed this out, it was corrected again, but this spoiled the experience. The food at Limani is excellent. No matter what dish we had, everything was so good that you would want more of it. The location right on the Rhine makes it even better. Unfortunately, the service gets two stars deducted because it is unfortunately only mediocre. You have to wait a long time until a waitress responds to the empty glasses. They all just run to the table they have in mind without even looking at the next table to see if anything is needed. So you sit drying for a long time and the empty plates remain standing.

So if you want to write hero stories, you have to deliver. The service staff was great, but of course they can only deliver if the kitchen delivers. But she didn't do it. We ordered 3 soups and the 2nd course with the same order. Unfortunately, we had to wait about an hour between the soup and the second course. @Kitchen: what was going on??? Unfortunately, what was delivered was not "Fabled" in the Greek sense... And the price-performance ratio - taking the portions into account - moves towards Hades, the Greek underworld. About the dishes: All delicious, but far from Olympus and far too expensive (perhaps the prices are also due to the lease in the exclusive location) Fish soup: clear soup, well seasoned, but the fish addition is very, very simple for 15.90 Octopus: ordered was braised, delivered was grilled! When asked, he commented that it was much better (no swap was offered) OK, the portion was also rather small, but the taste was great. Baby Calamari: Good Frit. Wir waren nur zwei Tage im Köln und wollten uns einen wunderschönen Abend, mit einem tollen Ausblick genießen. Das Restaurant an sich ist sehr renovierungsbedürftig. Egal, haben wir uns gedacht- vielleicht top dieser Location mit etwas anderes. Naja… 1. Erst wurde uns eine Aperitif Karte gebracht, gleich nach dem sie erst auf dem Tisch lag wurde gefragt: was darf sein? Obwohl man sieht, dass man nicht mal eine Chance hatte- diese aufzumachen! Wir wollten beide kein Aperitif, sonder einfach Wein. Weinkarte wurde nicht gebracht. 2. Weinkarte zu bringen fand der Kellner irgendwie zu kompliziert. Auf meine Anfrage, welche Weine haben Sie? Wurde nur geantwortet: wir haben viele Weine! Toll! Danke! 3. Wasser hat uns schon der 3.Kellner gebracht, der nicht mal in der Lage war” Guten Abend” zu sagen. Wir taten es als erste. 4. Die Speisekarte gabs nur eine. Auf meine Anfrage, ob es möglich wäre eine zweite Karte zu bekommen: “sind alle belegt!”. Danach kam aber die Kellnerin mit der 2.Speisekarte mit einem Spruch: “ Sie haben Glück!”. Wow..habe ich mir nur gedacht. 5.Die Krönung! Ursprünglich habe ein Tisch für 4 Personen reserviert. Als wir ins Restaurant kamen, wussten wir schon, dass wir zu dritt sein werden. Wir hatten Hunger und haben dem Kellner mitgeteilt, dass wir auf die 3. Person nicht warten. Nach unser Vorspeise kam dann ein Kellner, der uns im Saal angeschrien hat! Und gefragt hat: wo ist die 3 Person!??Und falls diese nicht auftaucht- dann kommt auch Hauptgericht nicht! Wie bitte???? So was habe ich noch nie erlebt!!! Als 3. Person kam- habe ich ihm gesagt: wir essen schnell und verschwinden! Da ich nicht mehr als 2 Minuten länger dort bleiben wollte! 6. Essen: ok 7. Es ist ein Restaurant der sich selber als “Gehoben” bezeichnet. Preis vom Fisch 37€

I was disappointed yesterday visiting the restaurant, for the first time I was on the large terrace. There was no food. I ordered dorado fillet, but they brought me a piece of the tail🤣 There was nothing to eat. We cut one and a half tomatoes for this and added herbs. A very unpleasant feeling. I've been here twice before and recommended it to friends, but this kind of nonsense has never happened before. Disappointed.

Schönes Restaurant in top Lage. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis miserabel, sehr überteuerte kleine Portionen und vom Geschmack nichts besonderes, dem griechischem Essen sehr fern. Es gibt eine ganze Reihe viel besserer griechischer Restaurants in Köln mit geschmackvollem Essen und guten Preisen. Von der Situation in den Toiletten ganz zu schweigen obwohl dafür Geld kassiert wird. Sehr nette Bedienung, der Möchtegern „Chef“ kundenunfreundlich. Nach 2,5 Stunden wurden wir regelrecht rausgeschmissen weil der Tisch erneut reserviert war. Wir waren häufiger dort hauptsächlich wegen der schönen Lage, nur selten zufrieden. Nach dem gestrigen Vorfall nie wieder.
