A truly wonderful experience, highly recommended. We just had lunch at ASKA for the first time and were absolutely thrilled. The ambiance, service, and quality of the food are excellent. All the staff were super friendly and accommodating, and the value for money is more than fair. I haven't seen a flat rate for water for €4 anywhere else in Hamburg, for example, and it's truly exemplary because it's so customer-focused. We'll be back soon. Thank you so much

Where do I begin? We had high expectations, if only because of the chef(s)' background and the good reviews here. Positive: the beautiful old boat. The kitchen was a huge disappointment: the mediocre dishes absolutely didn't justify the high prices. More on that later, but the service was especially disappointing. We (my girlfriend and I) have seen a lot and always put expectations into perspective. The service was chaotic and unprofessional, as you would expect here (especially considering the high prices). And not just at our table. In our opinion, they were (1) behind the curve and (2) lacking in friendliness, communication, and service. The head waitress, among other things, was pacing around like a bull in a china shop, dropping a few things throughout the evening. And now about the food: first of all, they forgot to ask for the main courses. It took a very long time! We ordered a lobster roll and four poached oysters for starters, and a sirloin steak and halibut for the main course. The lobster roll tasted okay (with lots of flowers that didn't smell or add anything to the flavor, so it was just because it looked funny), but the oysters were a disgrace. If the main flavor of a dish doesn't taste like it anymore, what exactly did you do as a chef? Let alone the large chunks of dill on those oysters. What are you supposed to do with them? The sirloin steak was fine, but 49 euros for overcooked vegetables, a piece of meat, and boring fried potatoes? Carry me away. The halibut was overcooked and therefore just a bit too dry, and otherwise nothing special. We expected hearty food with a Scandinavian twist. Nothing of the sort. After receiving the bill (just a rollout), the clerk suggested I enter my own tip on the payment terminal. I politely declined (you understand why), and after paying, he walked away without saying thank you or goodbye. So did we.

A very pleasant surprise! The food, service, and the boat as a location were all excellent. The dishes were nothing like the usual and were really well prepared in every respect. I have to honestly say that at first I thought ASKA was a tourist trap, but the higher prices are absolutely justified by the quality.

We really enjoyed this restaurant. It's housed in a boat floating on the water, with a typical and comfortable interior design. The large dining room offers well-spaced tables for guests' comfort. The black and brown interior tones are accented with bouquets of fresh flowers. Seated comfortably at our table, we ate the hamburger and the "land, field, and sea" trio. The dishes were beautifully presented and delicious.

As other patrons have mentioned, the location is fantastic - central and close to all of Hafen City's major landmarks... staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was fresh and incredible. We spent about 3 hours here and had a great time. It was raining heavily while we were dining which gave us an excuse to slowly enjoy our bottle of Riesling. Highly recommended!

Delicious food in a unique atmosphere. The restaurant is somewhat hidden away with a fantastic view of Hamburg's Speicherstadt (Warehouse District). A visit is definitely worth it! Very friendly, competent staff, and beautifully presented, delicious dishes. The value for money is excellent, as the quality is commensurate. Please judge for yourself. What a surprise! Totally unassuming from the outside, but a magical, stylish, and exciting place inside. The service was friendly, attentive, and dedicated. The young team rounded off the atmosphere perfectly. But the food is unbeatable! We travel a lot and love good food, and here it was incomparable—superb food! We'd love to go back when we're in Hamburg.

A culinary highlight in Hamburg. Here you can enjoy authentic cuisine in a great atmosphere. Back to basics - The main ingredients of the dishes speak for themselves. There's no unnecessary frills. The food impresses with its simplicity and honest preparation. We had the pleasure of dining there twice in a row and were completely won over by the dishes. The smoked mackerel is served lukewarm - simply delicious. Norwegian surf & turf - The scallops were perfect, and the crispy pork belly was to die for. Fish & chips sounds simple at first, but it was damn delicious. And of course, the three types of smörrebröd were a must. Yes, some might say, "They're just sandwiches," but what matters is what they're topped with. And these are loaded with delicious things. The service was exceptionally friendly without being intrusive; we almost felt like we were visiting friends.

We had a great time here. Daniel served us and made our evening truly unforgettable. We've never had such friendly service. The view of the HafenCity completed the visit. We'd love to come back :)

We visited ASKA for the first time yesterday and had a fantastic evening. Jonas gave us excellent advice and picked us up. The food was fantastic, and all his recommendations were spot on. The service was a solid A. We'll be back and can only recommend this restaurant, which, by the way, has incredible charm! 🤌🏻 The only improvement: I would really like an additional selection of sides.

Very tasty and prepared with a lot of imagination and love. The prices could actually be a bit lower. We're not stingy, and coming from the Frankfurt area, we're not spoiled, but it's about 10% overpriced. Still, a successful evening, and the atmosphere is worth it.

We enjoyed it. The portions were perfectly adequate. The chairs outside were rather uncomfortable. Service was very friendly. Unfortunately, it's very expensive. We'll be back.

Two years ago, my positive review couldn't be published due to a violation of Google's guidelines. It was surprisingly pleasant. First-class food and drinks. And even a cozy swing. That's what I wrote back then. Unfortunately, I haven't been there since then, and recently I read somewhere that there was a dispute between the chef and the co-owner, and now I don't know.

Great, stylish ambiance. The evening menu starting at 5:00 p.m. is unfortunately quite expensive. There are no restrooms in the restaurant (since the houseboat is apparently a listed building). You have to rely on the public restrooms on the nearby pontoon, which also cost money. The "Tomahawk Steak" menu for two people was rather mediocre. We mentioned it, but there was no reaction; just a shrug that it's just the way it is. It's a real shame. We had actually expected more from the food, especially for the price.

What a magical spot right on the water. We felt very comfortable and, above all, welcome from the very first second. The service was attentive, hospitable, and simply spot on. Just like the food. All around fantastic.

Interesting, but overrated due to good advertising. The dinner menu is extremely (100%) overpriced. 44 euros for a slice of white bread with 12 peas and potato chips. It tasted good, though.

Unusual place inside a houseboat (if suffering from rocking isn't the best thing) with few seats. Menu with little choice and certainly not cheap prices. My experience was positive tasting oysters, lobster rolls and finally scallops. The rest of the table was not fully satisfied, especially when comparing the cost to the food offered

We had the pleasure of trying the delicious Trio Smörrebröd as well as the Fish ‘n’ Chips – both were an absolute delight! The combinations of fish and meat in the Smörrebröd were creative and perfectly coordinated. Particularly noteworthy is the loving presentation, which allows the eye to eat right away. The fish ‘n’ chips were also impressive with their crispy batter, golden potato slices and delicious dips. The freshness of the ingredients could clearly be tasted. A real highlight: the chef prepared the fish outside on a fire barrel - a great, authentic detail that gave the whole thing a special atmosphere. A regular guest started talking to us and kindly gave us a few tips for our stay in Hamburg - you could hardly receive a warmer welcome. There is also a nice selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes on the evening menu - there really is something for everyone. Conclusion: An all-round successful culinary experience with a personal touch – absolutely recommended!

Great ambience, food (lunch menu) perfect and service very attentive and friendly. The beer selection is limited (only Pils with/without alcohol), but the water flat rate was a great idea and worked well for us. Because you are on a boat, there are no private toilets. You have to use the public toilet across the street and your money will be refunded if you wish. Another small "warning": the dessert portions are very large and almost inevitably lead to over-saturation!

We have rarely eaten so well!!! Despite the bad weather, we had a very comfortable place inside the restaurant boat, lovely staff and really excellent food! Top!

We were there in the afternoon and stopped for a quick drink on the terrace. Staff were super friendly and the vibe was great. Some fresh fish arrived as we were chilling, everything looked great.

This extraordinary restaurant is located in a permanently moored houseboat at the foot of the “EPHI” in Hamburg’s HafenCity. Not cheap, but worth it. The ambience is rustic and the charcoal grill with the delicacies prepared on it emits a smell that makes your mouth water. An absolute highlight! I had the panfish pictured and it was a poem.

5* more than deserved! My wife and I celebrated our 15th anniversary at WSC with our children. We had a special wish that was fulfilled more than perfectly for this occasion... a 15-course meal for 15 years of life together. Our children ordered a la carte. From the first contact to the communication and the service to the food... everything was excellent and we were more than happy and satisfied. We thank you for this wonderful evening with you and look forward to visiting you again soon.

Wild Scandinavian Cooking – A hidden gem on the water Wild Scandinavian Cooking is a restaurant that I would probably never have discovered myself, as we mostly test Asian restaurants. But thanks to an invitation from a partner, I had the pleasure of dining here - and it was worth it! The restaurant is located on a boat with a beautiful view of the Elbphilharmonie. The ambience alone is a highlight: stylish, cozy and with a maritime atmosphere. Since we attended a closed event, I can't say much about the regular menu. But what was served was excellent. I had a steak tartare as a starter and a perfectly prepared steak as my main course - both tasted at a high level. The service was consistently attentive and professional, so nothing was missing. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant that I will definitely have to visit again privately to get the full picture. A real discovery!

Yes, what a shame! Was there on a recommendation and with a voucher that I got for Christmas. Highly motivated and full of anticipation. Unfortunately the store could not meet my expectations. The food is far too expensive and uninspired for the quality. Tasteless fried potato wedges with halibut, really now. This has little to do with Scandinavia, what a shame!

Went to the wild for lunch today... WOW, that was delicious 😋, we had perfect steaks from the charcoal grill with mega crispy potato chips, delicious remoulade and sauce to dip into the meat... The side salad was also extremely sophisticated and well prepared, served with super nice service in a unique (for me as a country bumpkin 😀) location. Thank you very much again!

A great ambience on this houseboat, simply great atmosphere including an outdoor area, also for mulled wine in the cold season. The staff is super friendly. The food was rather unusual and very expensive in terms of price. For us as a family there wasn't something for everyone, especially since you had to be able to tolerate the rocking of the boat. But recommended as an attempt.

Beautiful, extraordinary ambience, in a floating restaurant in the middle of Hafen City, the Elfi is in sight, in the Museum Harbor. The boss and his staff are super nice, the food is made from very fresh ingredients. The brown bread was a hit. Here I was able to try fresh samphire for the first time. The haddock was wonderfully fresh. The menu has something for everyone, from fish to meat and also vegetarian. Some of the food is prepared outside on an open fire. Prices for the soft drinks are totally ok. It would just be exciting to know whether the dishes on the menu change from time to time. Takk for god matlaging- vi kommer gjerne igjen.

Very cool place with very good food - if you like seafood. We went for lunch and everything was really delicious. The place is sitting on the water in the middle of the speicherstadt, some nice views, but more importantly the inside is cozy, fisherman style, comfy and inviting. The bread is just amazing, do yourself a favor and take a loaf home. All the seafood is fresh, tasty, and prepared excellent! Great place, will definitely go back!

Best surf & turf burger 🍔 ever 🦞.. Went there again yesterday (December 29th). It was mega again. Whether salad, halibut, steak. 🥩 It couldn't be better. Great wine selection. Great service.

Perfect! Last Friday after our civil wedding we had lunch at Wild Scandinavian Cooking with around 30 people. First there was a reception on the beautiful terrace on the pontoon in HafenCity with a view of the Elbphilharmonie. There was also a very tasty snack that was prepared on an open fire and was also very visually appealing. Inside we had a seat at the long table with all the guests. The space is unique in Hamburg and you are on the water. There were beautiful Christmas decorations. The menu was excellently prepared, tasted great and the staff were always attentive when serving the guests. We were contacted in advance by Nova & co. Very well looked after and every wish was fulfilled. We can recommend the restaurant unconditionally. See you next time! Ruth and Jan

My wife discovered Wild Scandinavian Cooking by chance online and we spontaneously decided to reserve a table. We haven't regretted it for a second. Visitors can expect a great and cozy atmosphere that always welcomes them. The service was very commendable, always friendly and courteous, but never intrusive. And the food was simply a poem...! We have already had various culinary experiences, and the visit to Wild Scandinavian Cooking is one of the best experiences so far. Very exciting selection of dishes that delight with surprising taste highlights. There was nothing to complain about from our side, a culinary delight at a very high level without being excessive. The fact is, we were really full after the starter and main course and were able to experience a really successful culinary journey. When we are back in Hamburg, we will definitely visit Wild Scandinavian Cooking again.

Absolute enjoyment and pleasant relaxedness - big recommendation (!) Unfortunately, the toilet is not on the boat, but outside - but that's bearable!

Very tasty food, nice ambience and great staff. The fish & chips were great and the cranberry mayonnaise with it was really exceptional. We also loved the truffle mayo. The Smørrebrød was also very tasty, but if you want it to be a main course, you need two. (The price actually suggests it, but we didn't pay attention to it the first time, so here's just a note so that others don't overlook it.) The water flat rate is really a flat rate, the staff is very attentive and fills up super quickly. We also really liked the Geile Dane (beer in a 0.7 liter bottle). We've only been there during the day so far, so one small point of criticism: The selection of vegetarian options on the daily menu is very manageable. But we'll definitely be back because what we had was really tasty.
