This restaurant is fantastic - so fantastic we came back the next days. We had the escargot, muscles, steak, tartar and more. The staff are friendly and joyful, and the atmosphere is great. If you’re looking for some French food cooked to perfection, I would recommend this restaurant !

Like a trip to France, a trip to an authentic, lively bistro with really good food and good vibes, love it. I haven't experienced anything comparable in Germany, except for the legendary Themroc.

The term “authentic” is a bit outdated, but it best describes what is on offer here. Typical bistro with benches that are a bit too hard, nice service and very good French food. And as usual in France, the carafe of water is free. My fresh tartare was to die for, my wife's fish was simply perfect. Absolutely recommended!

Save yourself the trip to Paris and just get the entrecôte here! Stick around for schnapps o’clock and crème brûlée. The music is always great and there is air conditioning in the back. Dogs welcome.

I always come here with my French friends when we want a good meal, good wine, and a catch-up. The quality of food is incredible, the staff are friendly, and we always have an amazing night. It's a small menu, but perfectly cooked. The fries are the best in Berlin

The dishes are very good and very fine. The cooking of the vegetables in the vegetarian dish is very elaborate. That was delicious. Dessert (pear and hazelnut crumble) was a little simpler. Very friendly and smiling staff. The decor in the back room is a little too “rough” for my taste.

Gorgeous little place. The food was amazing and the server was very sweet (and hilarious). I will definitely be returning! I can especially recommended the chicken with romesco and asparagus and the steak tatare.

We went there spontaneously based on the reviews and were totally satisfied. The map is super small and clear. There is also a changing menu that lists other specialties. We had snails, tartare, steak, cremant and a red wine. The service was great, everyone was from France and really attentive. We will be back.

The first time I thought it was so good that I wanted to show it to my friends yesterday. Yesterday three fries that were far too soft and too greasy :-( The fondant was slapped down very carelessly. For this price I expect something different. The meat was good, as was the service. Unfortunately, overall it was too loud and the ventilation was too bad, so you smelled very strongly of a barbecue afterwards.

No-frills French. Spartan interior and only a few dishes on the menu, but top food and the best ingredients. If you like sirloin steak, entrecôte or mussels with fries plus a few other classic French "messes" such as tartare, this is the place for you. Casual, unpretentious and even child-friendly.

Good, small French menu with partly changing dishes. Absolute no brainer, for steak fries and tartare at a fair price. Very nice and attentive service. We'd love to come back.

Amazing evening last night. The food was delicious, the team are the most lovely people in the world. They celebrated the last day of my job so generously with my friend and I! Special shout-out to the razor clams and the baked prawn special and the desserts. Oh my god heaven.

As an out of towner, I went in thinking this was just another restaurant in the neighborhood. Boy I. was wrong. Amazing food, (I had the vegetarian risotto), to charming and witty staff. This stablishment really cares about providing a memorable experience for every guest that comes in. I highly recommend you dine in and see for yourself. Just be mindful, they change the menu often.

Good food and great wine list - all well priced. Service was good and the seating is comfortable. Asked for a steak cooked medium and specified "no red". We were told they refuse to cook the tenderloin in that manner and we would have to order the entrecote instead. Steak arrived with a deep red center and had to be sent back.

A bit biased about my experience: loved the starters, the duck and the meat but didn’t like french fries a homemade mayo as much. Nice vibrant atmosphere and good service in general. Noise level was way above average, we could hardly have a conversation and it felt like you’re surrounded by a cloud of voices coming from neighbor tables. This was the first time I ever had a problem with it since I’m not very sensitive. Might come back and just pick a table in the front room next time

Was ein tolles französisches Bistro! Julien, Le Patron, ist ein toller Gastgeber. Wunderbare Servicemitarbeiter und mit viel Liebe und Freude zubereitet französische Gerichte sind in jedem Falle ein Besuch wert. Ambiente und Stimmung ist einfach entspannte französische Lebensart. Les Valseuses, eine Filmlegende ist auch spürbar im Restaurant!

Mindestens ein Abend – meist jedoch eher 2 oder 3 – im Les Valseuses ist seit der Eröffnung des leger geführten Restaurants vor über 10 Jahren für uns jeden Sommer feste Tradition. Egal, was man bestellt: alles ist verlässlich gut bis sehr gut... klassische Entrées wie Enten Rillettes oder Escargots, aber auch die wechselnden saisonalen Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte sind immer mit viel Liebe und Talent zubereitet. Besonders gut haben es diejenigen, die der Fleischeslust frönen, da sowohl das Tartar als auch Steak Frites wirklich ausgezeichnet sind. Für Steak Frites hat man die Wahl zwischen Entrecôte oder Filet, und beide werden mit traumhaften, in Rindertalg frittierten Pommes & einem großen grünen Salat mit einer klassischen Senf-Vinaigrette serviert; die Steaks kommen auf den Punkt perfekt nach Wunsch wahlweise mit Estragon-butter, Blauschimmelkäsesauce oder grüner Pfeffersauce, in welcher ich glücklich ersaufen könnte. Der Service ist auf sehr entspannte, charmante Weise professionell, das Lokal selbst modern und unprätentiös. Die Weinkarte ist klein aber fein. 10/10

Hip ambience, friendly service, modern and tasty food. I was quite impressed by the Tartare and the lamb cutlet, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and paired well with the rest of the plate. The wine options are also extensive and quite nice.

A typically French brasserie, and one of the best places in Berlin to have a great quality entrecôte or tartare, accompanied by a great selection of wines and friendly service. The big entrecôte (300gr) is coming with delicious fries and a small salad. There is also a smaller entrecôte (250gr). You can choose one side sauce that is coming with the meat. The blue cheese sauce and the pepper one are both good. The tartare can be either a main course or an entree to share. The selection of wine is great, and the writers are very prepared to give you suggestions. Ask them, if you are not convinced with what you see in the menu. Make a reservation if you want to go during the weekend.l because it’s usually packed

Toller Ort zum verweilen mit Freunden auf ein paar Gläser Wein und dazu leckeren französichen Gerichte. Immer wieder eine tolle neue Auswahl an Gerichten, unter anderem auch sehr gute vegetarische Gerichte. Die Fleichliebhaber kommen u.a. mit dem Steak und den sehr guten Pommes auf ihre Kosten.

Teuer zu essen und arrogantes Personal, sie sind keine Gewinner, aber mit einem großen Ego..Nie wieder.

An amazing french Bistro experience in Berlin. Amazing food, generous portions, great service, perfect prices. Steak and frites with blue cheese sauce: 300g cooked to perfection with crunchy fries. Moules et frites with a tasty sauce. Waitress is trilingual and fun with good recommendations and complimentary apperetivo shots at the end.

Es wäre unverschämt dem Restaurant keine 5 Sterne zu geben. Tatsächlich französisch - und erwartbar etwas pretentious - im Ergebnis solide und natürlich gut. Vielleicht war die Küche an diesem Tag nur etwas überfordert. Die Gaumenexplosion ist jedoch bei mir ausgeblieben. Der Service professionell und sehr freundlich, hat mir einen exzellenten offenen Wein empfohlen. Wird nicht mein Lieblingsrestaurant aber ich habe es sehr genossen. Und auch die Gäste waren ein Augenschmaus. Merci beaucoup.

Best french restaurant in Berlin! The food is very delicious and authentically french as well. Everyone who works there is either french or at least speaks the language. I highly recommend the entrecôte steak that is served with a generous portion of fries (which are homemade style and not the frozen type!) and a side salad. I tried both the pepper sauce and the blue cheese sauce, I would definitely recommend the second! The mussels are also served with fries, and they are super good as well. Even their house wine is good and very cheap! The price to value ratio is great. The service is amazing: very fast service and super friendly. Overall: highly recommended. Make sure to reserve a table in advance.

Unsere erster Besuch. Die Hauswein war lecker und billig,echt toll, das Essen Auswahl ist klein aber Fein, mein Man hat Rinderfilet bestellt, war echt gut, ich habe Entrecôte bestellt, leider das Fleisch hat viel zu viel Grillaroma bekommen und dadurch hat etwas bitter geschmeckt. Das Dessert war echt gut, sehr lecker.

Wunderbares franzoesisches Restaurant mit offener Kueche!Die Karte wechselt woechentlich, ausser die Standards wie Filet und Tartar. Man wird immer freundlich empfangen, das Essen ist fantastisch, die Muscheln mit Pommes sind ein Muss und dazu gibt es immer tollen Wein mit guter Musik. Dankeschoen!!!

Die von der Gruppe georderten Hauptspeisen ware Filet-Steak frites, entrecôte frites und Kabeljau. Alle waren sehr angetan. Die Wildschweinvorspeise war köstlich! Es gab nichts zu bemängeln. Die GrünePfeffersauce hätte für meinen Geschmack etwas mehr nach grünem Pfeffer schmecken können. Preise waren nicht preiswert aber alles in allem i. O. Nette Beratung zum Wein. Aufmerksamer Service.

Un accueil chaleureux, un personnel souriant. Une savoureuse entrecôte dont la tendreté défie les lois de la physique; elle-même sublimée par une délicieuse sauce au bleu. Mules frites, Austern, SANCERRE der Himmel kann so nah sein, dazu ein bezaubernder Service. Viel zu lange war ich nicht mehr hier. Demnächst wieder öfter.

Die Vorspeisen waren super. Danach wurde es jedoch geschmacklich langweilig. Überall fehlten Gewürze. Und wir haben wirklich lange auf unsere Hauptspeisen gewartet. Die Weine, die wir probiert haben, waren auch alle recht flach. Die Bedienung war jedoch super!

I can't start to explain how sweet the people working there are. A bit messy in organization but it makes the whole french restaurant aspect even better haha. I ordered the entrecote 300g and it was so good, a bit on the pricey side but it's so worth it! I loved every second in that restaurant and I'm definitely coming again next time I visit Berlin!

The wine was great, and we really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere at the restaurant. But the food lacked that extra spark of taste and flavour. For this reason, as well as the fact that service didn't feel great, I don't think I'll be coming back soon.

Poussez la porte de cette brasserie. Un accueil chaleureux et une ambiance cosy. Nous avons mangé un Jean-Claude (400g de bœuf façon tartare cuit minute) et une fricassée de poulet au maroilles... Délicieux. Un ti punch en apéro et bien sur le tout accompagné d'un très bon verre de vin rouge. Une chouette adresse que je souhaitais faire connaître (on ne la voit pas bien ds la rue).

Wir (2 Personen) hatten eine feste Reservierung für den 01.10.22 auf 21:15 Uhr. Als wir ankamen wurde uns nach 10 Minuten Wartezeit nur ein winziger Tisch am Eingang zugewiesen wo eine Person halb vor der Eingangstür gesessen hätte. Wir hatten uns wirklich auf einen schönen Abend gefreut und mit Vor- Haupt- Dessert und Wein sicher 150 -200 € ausgegeben, ein Sitzplatz wie in einer Imbissbude hätte leider nicht dazu gepasst, weswegen wir gegangen sind. Hochmut kommt vor dem Fall. Für uns ist der laden überbewertet und das Verhalten mehr als Arrogant.

If it’s either celebrating a special occasion, or satisfying the hunger before it’s time for a drink, I can always recommend this place. Even if you come by yourself, the team is more than welcoming! You don’t have to be a wine experience to enjoy their wide selection. They are happy to consult and offer perfect matching wines; wether traditional or natural. Although known for the traditional steak frites, don’t be afraid to try out the new dishes in the changing menu. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THE FRIES! Also the mussels! And to end…a cognac? A calvados?

Seriously wonderful food, both in quality of the dishes and in variety of the offer, good wine and location, and the kindest service. Will visit again for sure.

this place deserves 6 stars!! this is my all time favorite restaurant in berlin, and one of the best places to get authentic french food. the small daily menu offers a range of unique french dishes. the head chef creates remarkable and fresh dishes, synonymous with haute cuisine but at an affordable price. I have tried a variety of dishes here, from extremely tender ray to œuf cocotte to salmon tartar .. to classics such as boiled muscles and creme brûlée. and of course, the escargot (snails) are a “must have” every single time! the restaurant also has a wine bar, offering an assortment of fantastic french wines. the inside area is cozy and in summer, it’s possible to eat outside. they have an open kitchen in the center of the restaurant, so be prepared for your clothes to be a bit smelly afterwards.. the service is always slow, but the waiters are extremely friendly and are always up for a chitchat. this renders that true french dining experience, and it’s obvious that the staff takes pleasure in interacting with their customers. my guess is that the clientele consists mostly of people who come back for more!
