Mein Mann und ich verbrachten einen wundervollen Abend im Les Valseuses, nur einen Steinwurf von der Oderberger Straße entfernt. Alles war perfekt: das Essen, der Service und die herzliche Gastfreundschaft von Julien und seinem Team. Die Küche war raffiniert und gleichzeitig herzhaft, voller köstlicher Geschmackskombinationen, die uns immer wieder überraschten. Die Zutaten waren frisch, saisonal und meisterhaft verarbeitet, und die Saucen waren makellos. Die Weinauswahl war erstklassig, und Juliens Empfehlungen waren durchweg treffend. Das Bistro besticht durch seine offene Küche und die gemütlichen Sitzplätze und schafft so eine wirklich originelle, behagliche Atmosphäre mit einem typisch Berliner Flair – stimmungsvoll beleuchtet, lebendig und voller Charme. Wir können es wärmstens empfehlen und kommen so schnell wie möglich wieder! Vielen Dank für diesen wunderschönen Abend.

Wir hatten ein wunderbares Abendessen im Les Valseuses. Ich habe mir drei Vorspeisen gegönnt. Alles war hervorragend: hausgemachte Pastete im Teigmantel von höchster Qualität, perfekt gewürzter, gepresster Oktopus und ganz besonders die gegrillten Lauchzwiebeln mit perfekt gekochtem Ei – die besten, die ich je gegessen habe. Großartig, weiter so!

Ein tolles und gemütliches Steakhaus in Berlin, das eine wirklich gute und preisgünstigere Alternative zu anderen, schickeren Restaurants darstellt. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Einziger Nachteil ist die offene Küche, die viel Rauch produziert – wer in der Nähe sitzt, wird möglicherweise selbst etwas verraucht!

Als ich eine Reservierung vornehmen wollte, war der Mitarbeiter unhöflich und respektlos. Er erhob die Stimme und schrie mich an, weil ich ihn nicht deutlich verstanden hatte. Dann schickte er mich weg. Diese Erfahrung allein reicht mir, um diesen Ort NIEMALS wieder zu besuchen oder zu unterstützen.

Very long wait for the food, most likely a bad one. Otherwise, a great atmosphere, friendly staff. Value for money is debatable.

Food was extraordinary good, everyone in the family loved it. Female waiter was great and super attentive, the other waiter could’ve been a bit more so e.g. when we asked for ketchup and an extra drink when we already had food on the table. Dont need ketchup when the food is eaten x) Other than that everything super lovely! Thank you!

Hmm there was some hugging of regulars which I always dislike and makes the rest of us feel like we won't be looked after, even though this is maybe our fifth time here. Doesn't set a good tone. Our mains were left for a while on the counter while the server fussed around over someone he knows. Not super happy. Standard of what came out of the kitchen was good. Gonna look elsewhere and go to other places we like before giving them another chance. Schade.

Latest visit a bit of a let down. Food amazing, but the service was not up to expectations. Seated in the back, menus dropped on the table, no water brought out, had to ask to light the candle. It was busy, so this all fine. But mains (rare) were left for about 10 mins on the service counter before being brought to the table so were over done by the time they arrived. Bit of a shame to the chefs working hard in the hot kitchen on a warm in night. Compared to our last visit in the winter, no comparison. We've been 5-6 times previously over the years and this time did not match. Will stick to other, more consistent places next time

Underwhelming. Not a particularly large menu and the steaks we ended up ordering were reasonably well cooked served with fries. The Pulpo entree was decent though. Not worth the price.

A wonderful evening at Les Valseuses in Prenzlauer Berg! There were seven of us and we opted for the house classic: entrecôte with fries – perfect, juicy, and full of flavor. The vegetarian dish, stuffed eggplant, was also very delicate and harmoniously balanced. For starters, we had snails, veal tongue, and octopus – delicious, although the portion of octopus could have been a bit more generous. The atmosphere is pleasant and typically French – you almost feel like you're in Paris. The service was friendly, but could have been a bit more attentive in some places – then we probably would have ordered another bottle of Sauvignon 😉 A definite recommendation – we'd be happy to come back!

Les Valseuses is the kind of spot you stumble upon and immediately want to come back to. The atmosphere is cozy, unpretentious, and full of character — with a mix of Berlin cool and a touch of French charm. The menu is short but curated with care; everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, laid-back, and attentive without being intrusive. Great wine selection too. Perfect for a relaxed dinner with friends or a date night. Highly recommend booking ahead — this place fills up for a reason.

Nuestra recepcionista del hotel había recomendado Les Valseuses y nos complace que seguimos su consejo. Reservamos a través de Instagram ya que era un día festivo, y nos alegramos de que lo hicimos. Fue solo un corto viaje en tranvía desde nuestro hotel hasta el restaurante, y fácil de encontrar. Ambos comimos bistec que estaba delicioso con excelentes patatas fritas servidas con un delicioso vino. Gran comida y gran servicio del equipo.

Recommend 100%! I'm a steak lover and this is one of the best steaks and fries in Berlin. Best part is that you don't need to pay very expensive to eat such quality dishes.

Dined here alone tonight, got the 300g entrecote steak frites, which was amazing, but the highlight of dinner was most definitely the dessert; get the chocolate lava cake, out of this world. Service was also impeccable, would definitely come back here.

Yes, I'm not the only Frenchman in the place anymore, but the attitude is that way. Service is more Berlin than Francois (annoying... just be polite and attentive 😉) Steak/frites still great! But the map needs more variety 😗

Limited choice in menu but they are of great quality and quantity. French frites is top - it’s not industrial style but authentic one. The broccoli soup was a little salty for me. But other dishes compensated :-)

El lugar tiene un ambiente acogedor, poco iluminado que disfrutamos. No había muchas opciones para elegir, lo que indica la voluntad de prosperar por la calidad. La textura del pato me pareció encantadora; sin embargo, era bastante salada, lo que fue desalentador. Además, las frituras de pommes de mi compañero estaban empapadas y poco atractivas, y su apuesta era promedio. Dijo que estas papas fritas eran como las de su madre, y no es su fuerte, por decir lo menos... La ensalada tenía hojas enormes, y no era nada acogedor. Debo reconocer los postres y aperitivos que disfrutamos mucho. En general, pasamos una agradable noche aquí, pero no por la comida o el servicio, sino más bien por el ambiente y lo más importante compañía de cada uno. Es muy poco probable que volvamos.

Lovely restaurant. We had the escargot, rabbit skewers, duck and steak and each plate was delicious. Despite being pretty full, we ordered the creme brûlée for dessert which finished the meal perfectly. The staff were friendly and attentive with offers to help translate the menu, should we need.

Been there again after a long time. Food, service and atmosphere wonderful, will have to go back more often. Everything tiptopsy

Average steak, tries a bit too hard to be 'french'

The French imprint is discreet, the atmosphere is pleasant, the guys at the tables are quick, precise, really nice. Oysters and coq au vin not exceptional, potatoes and entrecote excellent. Interesting wines, even natural ones. Beautiful evening in Prenzlauer

They fry their fries in beef tallow, which adds a really nice taste. They have perfected steak frites. I have never been disappointed.

Like a trip to France, a trip to an authentic, lively bistro with really good food and good vibes, love it. I haven't experienced anything comparable in Germany, except for the legendary Themroc.

The term “authentic” is a bit outdated, but it best describes what is on offer here. Typical bistro with benches that are a bit too hard, nice service and very good French food. And as usual in France, the carafe of water is free. My fresh tartare was to die for, my wife's fish was simply perfect. Absolutely recommended!

Save yourself the trip to Paris and just get the entrecôte here! Stick around for schnapps o’clock and crème brûlée. The music is always great and there is air conditioning in the back. Dogs welcome.

I always come here with my French friends when we want a good meal, good wine, and a catch-up. The quality of food is incredible, the staff are friendly, and we always have an amazing night. It's a small menu, but perfectly cooked. The fries are the best in Berlin

The dishes are very good and very fine. The cooking of the vegetables in the vegetarian dish is very elaborate. That was delicious. Dessert (pear and hazelnut crumble) was a little simpler. Very friendly and smiling staff. The decor in the back room is a little too “rough” for my taste.

Gorgeous little place. The food was amazing and the server was very sweet (and hilarious). I will definitely be returning! I can especially recommended the chicken with romesco and asparagus and the steak tatare.

We went there spontaneously based on the reviews and were totally satisfied. The map is super small and clear. There is also a changing menu that lists other specialties. We had snails, tartare, steak, cremant and a red wine. The service was great, everyone was from France and really attentive. We will be back.

The first time I thought it was so good that I wanted to show it to my friends yesterday. Yesterday three fries that were far too soft and too greasy :-( The fondant was slapped down very carelessly. For this price I expect something different. The meat was good, as was the service. Unfortunately, overall it was too loud and the ventilation was too bad, so you smelled very strongly of a barbecue afterwards.

No-frills French. Spartan interior and only a few dishes on the menu, but top food and the best ingredients. If you like sirloin steak, entrecôte or mussels with fries plus a few other classic French "messes" such as tartare, this is the place for you. Casual, unpretentious and even child-friendly.

Good, small French menu with partly changing dishes. Absolute no brainer, for steak fries and tartare at a fair price. Very nice and attentive service. We'd love to come back.

Amazing evening last night. The food was delicious, the team are the most lovely people in the world. They celebrated the last day of my job so generously with my friend and I! Special shout-out to the razor clams and the baked prawn special and the desserts. Oh my god heaven.

As an out of towner, I went in thinking this was just another restaurant in the neighborhood. Boy I. was wrong. Amazing food, (I had the vegetarian risotto), to charming and witty staff. This stablishment really cares about providing a memorable experience for every guest that comes in. I highly recommend you dine in and see for yourself. Just be mindful, they change the menu often.

Good food and great wine list - all well priced. Service was good and the seating is comfortable. Asked for a steak cooked medium and specified "no red". We were told they refuse to cook the tenderloin in that manner and we would have to order the entrecote instead. Steak arrived with a deep red center and had to be sent back.

A bit biased about my experience: loved the starters, the duck and the meat but didn’t like french fries a homemade mayo as much. Nice vibrant atmosphere and good service in general. Noise level was way above average, we could hardly have a conversation and it felt like you’re surrounded by a cloud of voices coming from neighbor tables. This was the first time I ever had a problem with it since I’m not very sensitive. Might come back and just pick a table in the front room next time
