I ordered a pepperoni pizza, assuming it would be pepperoni slices, but it turned out to be sliced ​​peppers. Since I don't eat (raw) tomatoes, olives, etc., I decided to leave them off. They were just there. I told them I don't eat them, and they bluntly told me, "This is what you ordered." This sparked a "his word versus mine" argument. I wasn't even asked if I wanted something else. After that, the waiter simply left the table. My wife ordered the tagliatelle, and it was also utterly tasteless. In short, once, never again.

The Hot Aperol they were selling at the Christmas market stall was the worst Hot Aperol I've ever had. It was undrinkable. I didn't realize that Hot Aperol was white and not red/orange like regular Aperol.

Fairly inexpensive, but unfortunately, nothing special. I had meat with noodles, which were warm but tasteless. The meat with the filling was odd. The appetizer, "Bagutte with garlic," was also simply bitter. But the name fits the ambiance. It was cozy!

The menu lists a "large cup of hot chocolate for a whopping €4.20." What comes next? A latte macchiato glass, half filled with hot chocolate, the rest with whipped cream... Not again...

The best restaurant on Kennedyplatz. I always enjoy coming here. Super friendly service. The pizza is truly delicious. During the week, the lunch menu offers great value for money.

I wasn't a guest. I politely asked a waiter if my 3-year-old daughter could use the restroom. For guests only. I think that's a disgrace. We're talking about a toddler, and there were no public restrooms nearby. If they had asked me to pay 50, I would have even considered it somewhat polite, but this is the worst thing I can do.

The waiter behaved like an authoritarian person, when asked why the bottle of wine ordered was open, his answer was "Here you are in Germany, you little mouth, zero professionalism 0000000", the food is good but it's a shame about the waiter's unprofessional behavior, and I mean the waiter with earrings and tattoos, I think his place is not there, but somewhere else....avoid this place, I DO NOT RECOMMEND AVOIDING THIS PLACE.......

Friendly staff, nice ambience but mediocre food. The location is quite central. They have a selection of pizzas in the menu and a decent oven but the taste was disappointing. Slightly above frozen pizza quality. Ordered anti pasti plate including veggies, olives and mozzarella. All bland. The salad was also not significant. Supposed to come with olive oil and balsamic vinegar but came totally dry. Hundred meters to the right there is L'osteria. Even though it is a chain restaurant it is better and definitely more Italian than this place. They have decent pizzas..

It would actually be more pleasant if the customer service mentality took over again. It can't be that guests in the bar area have to freeze through the open entrance in the fall so that the waitress can more easily serve outside, and then make angry eyes at guests' displeasure. After a very positive experience in the afternoon, we returned in the evening for dinner. Unfortunately, the guy with the mustache arrived at the table, and after ordering a bottle of wine, he came to the table with the bottle already open. When I told him that it wasn't right, he told me to keep quiet. Telling him that the bottle should normally be opened in front of the customer, he told me that I was in Germany and that I should keep quiet. I told him I didn't want that bottle anymore, and then he told me to never come to this restaurant again. It was the worst experience I've ever had anywhere. We've lived in Essen for years, but never had a chance to visit Leo's Casa. We did today and were extremely pleasantly surprised. The food and drinks are of very high quality and pleasantly priced. The location is excellent and invites you to linger. We will be back 👍🏻

It's actually nice because it's downtown, but unfortunately, I wasn't even allowed to charge my e-cigarette at the outlet. The waiter with glasses was more concerned with keeping the stupid floor lamp on in broad daylight. Last time here!

The service was stressed, but still friendly. I've never had a cross-in-the-bread served so carelessly. Especially for the price. No garnish, just three mini slices of bread with oil and a rosemary sprig on a plate where they looked lost. Salt and pepper were missing. A primary school child could do better. I've also never eaten such a sparsely topped and extraordinarily dry pizza. There were seven of us. Three orders were wrong. Lots of sticky cheese and not enough of everything else. Fresh tomatoes were four to five cubes instead of slices. Garlic was just oil instead of fresh, and that was only announced and then forgotten. Five strips of onion. A total stingy pizza. The air outside was better, but there were too many smokers on all sides.

The weather was perfect for sitting outside and sharing Prosecco and three delicious pizzas with the three of us. A wonderful start to a night of best friends, followed by a hearty laugh at the fitting "Weiber!" (a true-to-life performance) at Stratmann's.

We were just before the kitchen closed and hurried to order. 70% of the tables on the terrace were unoccupied. It was a very warm, balmy evening. Since there were several of us, we put two tables together. I would have understood that the waiter wouldn't be happy about it and that we would have simply been reprimanded for it. But the waiter insisted that we leave our seats and move to the next table. There would have been less space, even though everything around us was empty. Despite asking, there was no explanation given. Only that they always do it this way. We felt uncomfortable from the very first minute and so we left.

The food at Leo's was really good, I had tagliatelle with cream sauce, which tasted good. The atmosphere was also pleasant. But unfortunately our visit was massively marred by the service and the waiter. From the beginning we had the feeling that we were treated differently by the waiter - probably in my opinion because of our origin or skin color, I can't explain it any other way with the best will in the world. Nothing was said directly, but you can feel when you're not welcome. While other guests were served courteously, for example, we were... B. the water was simply placed on the table while it was poured at the neighboring tables. Little things that add up to say a lot. Nevertheless, we remained friendly and deliberately ignored it. But the interaction continued: When I wanted to take the rest of my food with me, it was simply wrapped in aluminum foil - no box, no plate, nothing. And that with ribbon noodles with lots of sauce. When asked, they simply said: “There is no other option.” That's simply wrong - we regularly order from Leos, and the food is always delivered neatly in packaging boxes. This experience was disappointing and felt disrespectful. Good food is not enough if you as a guest do not feel treated equally. Dealing with guests is at least as important!

After seeing a play at Stratmanns, we stopped in here (WITH RESERVATION). I've never been ashamed to be here before🫣 and that's because I'm from Essen. We were warmly welcomed and taken to our place, drinks were taken, WE needed something for the meal😜 I had a vegetarian pizza with wok vegetables, super tasty. Hello everyone, I recently went to the Leos Casa restaurant for a business dinner. The restaurant is very easy to reach on foot as it is located directly on Kennedyplatz in Essen. The furnishings are cozy and functional. The service staff is friendly and courteous. The selection on the menu is generous and for everyone. I can recommend the pizza Americano and the very tasty tiramisu.

Well, it's more of a tourist thing. Unfortunately, the waiters are very inattentive. Orders are sometimes forgotten, but asking after 20 minutes helps. The place itself was empty. The portions were okay.

Ich hatte für den gestrigen Sonntag bereits im Dezember einen Tisch reserviert, da wir zu dritt vor dem Besuch im Stratmanns Theater gemütlich Essen wollten. Am Dienstag, also 5 Tage vor unserem Termin, habe ich sicherheitshalber nochmal nach der Reservierung gefragt und erfahren, dass alles in Ordnung ist. Als wir jedoch pünktlich um 17.00h ankamen, wollte niemand etwas von unserer Tischreservierung wissen. Äußerst ärgerlich! Es hat sich auch niemand für die Unannehmlichkeiten entschuldigt oder versucht eine Lösung zu finden. So mussten wir eine knappe Viertelstunde im Eingang warten, bis dann zufällig ein "Katzentisch" frei wurde. Die drei bestellten Hauptgerichte sowie die drei Desserts waren dann allerdings hervorragend, ebenso das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Dennoch finde ich den gesamten Vorgang sehr unprofessionell. Wir fühlten uns als Kunden nicht wirklich ernstgenommen. So überlege ich, ob ich beim nächsten Theaterbesuch nicht besser ein anderes Lokal ausprobiere, denn ich möchte mit den Freunden, die ich auch noch zum Essen eingeladen habe, kein weiteres mal solch eine negative Überraschung erleben. Booking more than a month in advance with confirmation is apparently not enough to have a place in this restaurant. No response, cooperation or customer friendliness to be expected at all. No drinks while standing. Actually a nice place, but if you want to have a drink at the standing columns before you go to Stratmanns, they say no drinks while standing. There's no better way to scare away guests... I don't want to sit here anymore...

Wir waren gestern mit sechs Personen auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt und wollten gegen 17 Uhr ins Leos Casa essen gehen, da wir hier in der Vergangenheit immer wieder eingekehrt sind. Auf Nachfrage, ob noch sechs Plätze frei sind erhielten wir auf unfreundliche Art und Weise die Anrwort, dass alles reserviert ist. Auch die Frage ab wann die Tische denn reserviert sind, wurde sehr unfreundlich beantwortet: Die sind reserviert und die kommen gleich. Vor der Tür haben wir, mit Blick ins Restaurant, ein paar Gläser Glühwein getrunken. Es blieben über 90 Minuten sechs angeblich reservierte Tische unbesetzt. In der Zeit hätten wir zweimal gegessen. Wenn die Geschäftsführung so ein Verhalten der Bediensteten billigt, geht einiges an Umsatz verloren. Oder ist das von allen so gewollt? Wir werden alle sechs diesen Laden in Zukunft meiden! Wir sind dann ins Extrablatt geganden, hier wurden wir freundlich empfangen und bedient.

Before visiting the Stratmann Theater we wanted to order a cocktail. Since all the tables were occupied, we stood at a bar table on the supports. Unfortunately it was not possible to place an order because, according to the waiter, "service is only given to seated guests"...whoever wants that can understand that...

I was here for dinner yesterday and would love to come back! Really attentive staff and the food was delicious too. The ambience in the living room flair is, above all, totally cozy! I deducted one point because of the noise. Unfortunately, at the large table you could only hear the people sitting next to you, as it was generally very loud despite the good layout of the shop. The selection of food isn't huge, but it's absolutely great! Requests for changes will be gladly taken into account. You mainly get pizza and pasta here, then there are a few meat dishes and a changing seasonal menu. With the seasonal menu as a supplement, I found the selection really great! The pizza dough is given enough rest time and is prepared in a visible, open pizza oven, which I personally think is really cool. €15.50 for a portion of pasta in garlic sauce with tomato pieces, rosemary and shaved parmesan & a glass of white wine (Soave). You really can't complain about that. Absolutely recommended!

Seven of us ate there and we all really enjoyed it. I can recommend the tagliatelle e gamberi, but there was one drawback. The shrimp had been fried 2-3 minutes too long, so they were a little rubbery. The portion size was a little small, but just about enough for most people. The price-performance ratio was also very good, the noodles cost me €14.90 and my non-alcoholic Hefeweizen cost €5.10. The ambience on site is also really nice. The service was really very good at what she did there. All the handles were correct and it wasn't cleared away while someone else was eating. I can only recommend the restaurant.

The taste of the food has deteriorated over the years - a simple tomato soup tastes like canned tomatoes mixed with water. You have to season it yourself, but you can't save it with salt and pepper. The César salad also tastes 0815. Salmon pasta doesn't taste bad, but there are no noticeable flavor notes, everything tastes the same and is very heavy in the stomach. The ambience consists of over 50 gestures that look at a normal loud conversation with laughter and contemptuous looks.

We (two adults) went to Leo's Casa for lunch today. The Italian specialty restaurant is located in the middle of Essen city center on Kennedyplatz, not far from the theater and opposite the Motel one hotel and the cathedral. The restaurant is very large and, according to the menu, can accommodate over 200 guests. Because of the excellent weather, we sat on the large sun terrace under the umbrellas on rustic wooden chairs, but that didn't detract from the upscale ambience. We ordered a non-alcoholic strawberry colada cocktail, a large bottle of San Pellegrino, caprese as a starter, a pizza agnello (pizza with lamb strips and garlic sauce), tagliatelle pollo e pomodoro (ribbon pasta with chicken and tomato sauce) and a chocolate pyramid as dessert. We paid 55.60 euros for this, which is a rather low price compared to other cities. The quality of the food was good (the tomatoes in the caprese starter were a bit watery), the dishes were served hot and pleasantly presented. The taste of the food impressed us; there was no reason for criticism, which is why we gave it full points. When it comes to service, we first have to say that the waiter was very friendly and attentive. However, a colleague served the drinks and generously swirled the bottle over the glasses while pouring the water so that the table was also "served". This in no way fits with the upscale ambience or standards of the restaurant. However, the waitress made no move to wipe away the water if necessary or to put a napkin under the bottle. Unfortunately, the drinks only came after our starter, which didn't really suit the hot weather and the menu. It's a shame, but this is part of good service, which is why we made deductions here. Because of the attentiveness of the waiter (second cutlery after the starter, as the pizza needed a sharper knife) and the friendliness shown to us, which we also rewarded with a 5 euro tip, we received a 3 star rating overall. Regarding the ambience, it should be said that the outside terrace, the inside rooms and also the toilets are clean and well-kept, and inside, attention is also paid to detail in the table decoration. One point was deducted for the single-layer and very thin toilet paper, the dispenser of which was more reminiscent of a train station than an upscale restaurant. It's incomprehensible to me that the guests are being saved here and that the female guests in particular certainly find it rather unhygienic. That's why we deducted one star, although there shouldn't be any real criticism of other things. Every lover of Italian cuisine who is visiting Essen and staying in the city center should visit Leoś Casa. We can give an unreserved recommendation here. The price-performance ratio convinced us, give it a try.
