We went there with a group and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Lovely appetizers, excellent food, and generous portions. A nice selection of wine and grappa, as well as non-alcoholic drinks. We will definitely be back!

The waiter was really rude. I have ordered a stake rare and he bring it medium rare and he was fighting with me and ask me to eat it as I have received it. The starter take a long time.

We were here for one evening during our visit to the Essen Games Fair, just like the last time we were there in 2023, and it was again very good. I had the Italian-style spaghetti carbonara without cream. And what can I say, it was once again incredibly delicious 👍

A restaurant that's quite hidden from the outside and easy to overlook. Inside, it's beautifully decorated, with so many details to discover. The service is excellent and adapts very well to the personalities of the guests. The food is consistently delicious, from carpaccio, pizza, and pasta to perfectly cooked steak and desserts. The prices are definitely reasonable for the quality.

I had diarrhea after the visit. My boyfriend had eaten my packed leftovers and then just sat on the toilet. Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't smell very clean at all.

I had lamb steak (medium rare) with potatoes + 2 drinks = ~€40 The steak was great, and the accompanying sauce was delicious and well-seasoned. The service was witty and friendly. It was a bit on the expensive side, but it wasn't bad. The location is also nice. You can take a relaxing stroll afterward. Conclusion: I would go there again.

We found the place thanks to the Google rating. The first steps inside had a strange effect on me because of the peculiar smell, not many people, and the decor... special. The service was also a bit taciturn, with no friendly remarks or smiles from any of the staff during the entire visit. However, the restaurant is very beautifully decorated. It perfectly captured the feeling of an Italian vacation and wanderlust.

We've been to Capobianco several times. It's worth a visit, but the experience as a visitor ranges from good to mediocre.

A great start with a bad ending. The food was delicious and the service very friendly. Only the next day did I notice that the lady taking the cashier had the audacity to take an extra €10 as a tip. Too bad, we'll never be back.

We've been there several times, but unfortunately, yesterday wasn't so great. We (4 people) ordered different dishes. However, my pizza arrived 10 minutes later than the other dishes. Too bad. Even the neighboring table of 10 people got their pizzas faster (even though they arrived 20 minutes later than us). The linguini in the Parmesan cheese shell was also swimming in grease. A real shame, probably under the heat lamp for too long. The pizza and the fillet were excellent.

We had the best eavening of our vacation. There was a live Italian performance and if you are in to that THIS is the place to be. I can advice this to anyone who likes real Italian fun!

It was our first time there. The atmosphere was quite nice and unusual. The pizza wasn't special; it was rather soggy on the inside and had a strong fishy flavor. Even for a pizza tonno, it was far too strong. Nobody cared that three-quarters of the pizza was returned. For this reason alone, we found the service impersonal, cool, and disinterested. The saltimbocca was good, but the large cheese-filled croquette on the side was rather out of place. The place was also very loud and hectic. All in all, it's below average and not recommended.

Four of us ordered pizza and pasta dishes and were very satisfied. Food was tasty and more than enough in quantity. The ambience is more rustic and everything fits together. One star deduction for the ambience because everything is pretty close together and some things are wildly mixed up. Otherwise really recommended to everyone.

We had booked a table for 8 people for Saturday. Unfortunately we had to sit at a long table with others. There was poor live music (unfortunately this was not mentioned when making the reservation). You felt like you were in a noisy train station. It was so loud that you could hardly order. We weren't used to this from there.

Insider tip for anyone who wants some good food late in the evening. Kitchen is open longer than most other restaurants in downtown Essen. The ambience is very interesting.

We have actually enjoyed coming here for many years. Unfortunately, the taste has deteriorated greatly over the years. Plus, you probably get a free hearing aid every Saturday. Live music is all well and good, but when the "musician" in a restaurant competes with Metallica and Manowar, it's too loud. When asked to turn it down, they just said it was live music. We and our friends will no longer set foot in the store. So definitely not recommended if you want to eat really well for the price or if you depend on your hearing.

The very particular environment with a (I imagine voluntarily tacky) fake imperial style of ancient Rome. On Saturday evening there was also live music with the classics of popular Italian music. In short, the maximum of clichés about Italy, but the atmosphere ultimately very fun and above all the dishes definitely up to par with a good Italian trattoria.

This is my 2nd visit to this restaurant, the food here is delicious, especially the pizza, and the house wine is very cool. This time the service was just terrible, it seemed like the waitress just kept forgetting about us, or ignoring us. Capobianco in Essen is a real highlight! The Mediterranean mafia-style ambience looks like a film set - stylish, unique and simply beautiful. The pizza was baked perfectly, with a wonderfully crispy dough and the taste was a hit. It definitely fills you up and leaves nothing to be desired. Service and atmosphere complete the experience. Absolutely recommended for everyone who appreciates quality and flair!

The receptionist was friendly and attentive and showed us to the table, which was immediately noticeable...the tables are quite narrow. The drinks and food were quickly consumed and there was also a delicious greeting from the kitchen with the drinks. A negative point was the menu, where the prices were marked with Edding. The wrong drink was delivered, after complaining we got the right one without much fuss. Our food then arrived and we enjoyed the delicious dishes with live music playing in the background...great. The plates were well filled and at a fair price, although it has to be said... both dishes had good slices of fresh garlic, which wasn't noted on the menu... it will bother some people. The restaurant can really be recommended.

It was a restaurant with friendly staff and a friendly Renaissance-style atmosphere. The anchovies on the Neapolitan pizza were disappointing compared to the raw taste. Pasta and waa are delicious.

The drinks were then brought to the table in glass bottles, which seems completely inappropriate for an upscale restaurant. At the back of the restaurant there was a small area separated by glass doors where background music was playing loudly. At the same time, a live entertainer was playing his music right outside. Hearing completely different music from two sides was more annoying than pleasant. The menu itself was in poor condition: prices were written over with Edding - an absolute no-go for a restaurant that presents itself as upscale. The taste of the dishes we ordered was okay, but by no means special. In addition, the pepperoni was forgotten in one dish. When we asked, the waitress simply said: “That was the case at the other table too.” No apology, nothing. In addition, you can't bring the food to the table at the same time. Just 4 minutes passed from person one eating to person two eating The overall service also left a lot to be desired. The staff was hardly visible and not very attentive. Neither a “please” nor a “bon appetit” could be expected here. Given the restaurant's big name and notoriety, we expected something much higher quality - both in terms of food and service.
