Eating like being at a friend's house. Friendly, attentive, and relaxed service with detailed advice on the menu and daily specials. The food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. We were there a few years ago and were very satisfied then. After last night, we'll definitely be back on our next visit to Travemünde.

Great service, despite the full house. Very friendly and accommodating, the food was plentiful and well-seasoned. The recommendation of the day was perfect. We felt completely at home. If we were here longer, we would come back.

Last Sunday, we dined at your restaurant. The proprietor recommended savoy cabbage rolls, which we ordered. They tasted excellent, but we felt the price of €23.90 was a bit high. Had the proprietor told us the price beforehand, we might have chosen differently, which we believe he should have done, as the price didn't seem quite right compared to the other dishes. Furthermore, the proprietor's service left something to be desired. Requesting the bill took a long time, and paying was also difficult. We ended up having to go to the counter to settle, which we found unusual. It seemed as if the proprietor was more concerned with entertaining his regulars than with us, the new guests. We spend time in Travemünde four times a year and have eaten at various restaurants, but we've never experienced anything like this. We were here on Sunday.

The chef/manager and head waiter were very friendly and accommodating. We ate from the menu, which was already very good. Once we chose the buffet, which truly surpassed anything Travemünde and the surrounding area has to offer. Incredible variety and excellent taste. The paella, however, topped everything for me. I've never had it in this form before. Absolutely delicious. A big thank you again to the chef and the waiter, who looked after us so well. We'll gladly come back to Travemünde just for this restaurant.

Very friendly service, cozy, traditional atmosphere. I popped in spontaneously on Saturday from 5 p.m., and there's a lovely buffet with everything you need. For €24.90, I ate my fill.

We were there when they offered all-you-can-eat options. Very tasty, a huge selection, and the food was constantly being refilled. The service was excellent.

We really enjoyed our visit to Leopold. The food was delicious and fresh. The visit to Travemünde's second-row restaurant was truly worthwhile.

Three of us ate there. Very friendly hosts, and most importantly, really good food. They even have a children's menu. The drinks and food came very quickly, and we were served well without a long wait. I can wholeheartedly recommend stopping by the second row. Thank you so much, and see you next time.

The restaurant is a bit dated, but at first glance, it appears clean and tidy. The staff was very friendly. We recommend booking in advance, as according to reviews and our impression, it's always busy. The fish platter was unfortunately a bit overcooked – probably depending on the day. The fish curry, on the other hand, was truly delicious and highly recommended. One clear drawback: no card payments are accepted. These days, that should really be standard. Somewhat irritating: The bill was handwritten on a Veltins notepad – there was no official receipt. This unfortunately seems unprofessional.

Veru nice place! Food was good and service was fast and very attentive - made an extra spot for us (there was 7 of us), took our wet jackets right away (it was raining heavily) and even gave small gift to the kids at the end. We were worried about precious reviews but those are far from truth! We liked it and would recommend .

Yesterday it sank slightly again. We need restaurants like this. The kitchen still cooks fresh. Plenty of fish, meat, and vegetables to choose from. Often a buffet on Fridays. Great service. Location in the second row, making it somewhat hidden.

We saw an advertisement and information about the restaurant on the promenade and thought we'd give it a try. We weren't disappointed. I can't remember having such good and friendly service anywhere else recently! We were able to sit outside—there are only five tables—and it's quaint inside—no frills at all. The food was really good and the prices were reasonable, even cheap! I definitely recommend it!

A fantastic restaurant! Friendly, personable staff, cozy decor, and first-class food! I had the plaice fillet with potatoes and salad. A huge portion with a great white wine for a very reasonable €24. Everything is absolutely perfect here, so it's definitely 5 stars!

We were there for tapas night. The food was excellent, and there was a wide selection. For €25 per person, it was unbeatable. The service was also very fast and super friendly. We had a very enjoyable evening.

What can I say, an absolute must! A bit "inconspicuous" in the second row, but absolutely top-notch. We went there for the mixed buffet, and it had everything you could wish for. It was always freshly cooked and well-replenished. Everything was delicious, from the tapas to the red cabbage with dumplings. The service was very friendly and accommodating! We'll definitely be back.

A very nice restaurant, centrally located but somewhat off the beaten track. Very friendly staff with good food recommendations. An extensive menu with something for everyone, including off-the-menu items. After our first visit, we followed the advice to make a reservation for the tapas buffet. Even though we were expecting Spanish tapas, we were not disappointed. Cream of asparagus soup, a great selection of appetizers, hot dishes for every taste (fish, beef, pork, poultry, liver, etc.), an extensive cheese platter, and desserts. Depending on the season, many asparagus varieties are available. All for around €25. It was great, thank you very much. If it weren't for the fat belly at the end :-)

I was the only guest and came on a recommendation. Everything would be freshly prepared, according to the recommendation. However, the fish fillets and the two shrimps were very dry and the asparagus in a lot of hollandaise sauce didn't appeal to me either. I passed on the criticism as well. The dessert was supposed to improve the impression, but unfortunately it didn't. Too bad...

Wonderful food, quick service and the service staff always has a quick saying up their sleeve. Even though it is in two rows behind the promenade, it is by no means second class. Always a pleasure when I visit Travemünde. ❤

Were there last night and loved the food and service. We then reserved a table for this evening. The waitress took our data. There were two tables to choose from. When we got there today, one of the tables had already been allocated to someone else and the second option was supposedly reserved for 'our own people'. You stand there like an idiot. There's a lot of chatter in the store, with the right saying for every situation. You simply don't need it.

Reiko the boss is at the stove himself and rocks the kitchen! We were too late for the fish soup today, but we made up for it with a great crab soup that was really particularly good and tasty. Afterwards there was herring fillet with well-fried fried potatoes and Graves salmon on potato pancakes. Highly recommended!

In April, there was no place to park. I walked around for a long time and couldn’t find a parking place, so I had to give up the tasting.

Went there, but were only served after more than half an hour (after requesting) then the main course came after another hour of waiting. Unfortunately the food was also miserable, a steak like a shoe sole, which the staff initially dismissed with "you don't have the right cutlery/knife" and then they tried my plate directly at the table. Then they didn't even give me a replacement steak, they only offered pork medallions or a schnitzel as an alternative. I really wonder if the chef couldn't have managed a steak in the same time, but who knows if it wasn't the last one?! Well, but the best thing was that you had to pay for the rest, which was also all soaked in oil. By the way, the vegetables were also from the freezer, nothing fresh. Thank you, never again!!!!!!!

We came here on our long weekend over Shrove Monday, without any expectations, just to have something to eat. We were really surprised on all sides and were more than satisfied not only with the food, but also with the staff, the owner and the service. You felt super comfortable, like at home. The food tasted excellent, the price is more than reasonable and the atmosphere in the restaurant was extremely welcoming and friendly. We would like to thank you very much for the wonderful evening and are already looking forward to our next visit to Travemünde so that we can stop off again at our newly found favorite restaurant. Eat tapas every first Friday! We had booked and were informed during the visit that unfortunately it had to be canceled because there were not enough registrations. Other guests arrived later but had their food much earlier. The tomatoes probably still had to be harvested for the bruscetta as a starter. The spare ribs were very tasty and soft as butter. But the sharpness is absolutely borderline. The fish plate was ok. An ouzo had to be ordered because it was forgotten. There was free schnapps at the next table. Ours was calculated. And a voucher about 10% was not deducted from the bill either. Card payment is not possible there. That used to be much better. So please exercise caution. For us it was the last time, although we were still very satisfied in September.

We visited on a Sunday when the weather was wonderful. Nice service, super tasty food. Can only be recommended. Although access is difficult with a wheelchair, the boss pitched in and helped my mother get in.

We were very lucky to get a table for four outside on a sunny spring day. We received a very friendly welcome. The chef was very helpful in choosing our dishes. We had various fish dishes and a meat dish with side dishes. Everything, from the fish to the meat, the homemade fries, and the homemade potato salad, was freshly prepared. The chef even made the remoulade himself. For dessert, we had a delicious crème brûlée with strawberries and cream. We were all very impressed, from the food to the service, and even had a nice chat. So, if you don't necessarily want to sit on the promenade and instead opt for a restaurant with good food and great staff, Leopolds is the perfect place.

Excellent food, good quality, and very nice and friendly staff. It's a shame they're closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. When we're in Travemünde, we like to eat at Leopold's.

Leopoolds advertises on its own website to be open until 22:00, thu 2.1.25. We asked to eat 21:10 and were told kitchen is closed. The request to advertise correct opening times on their own website was not understood. Typically kitchen closes 30 min before closing. Luckily other place in Travemünde was much more service oriented!

We were eating for the first time in the Leopolds for the first time yesterday. The service was 1a and the food was also very tasty. We were quickly provided with drinks and also given the daily recommendations straight away. The restaurant as such is beautifully and rustically furnished, you just feel comfortable. Highly recommended!

I just came from there and am driving back to Kiel. And I just thought: what a wonderful ending, because the food was absolutely amazing! I haven't eaten so well in a long time! Big praise again to the chef! Damn it! He knows what he's doing. It was simply exquisite! I will definitely go there again when I'm in Travemünde. I don't even need to look for a restaurant anymore, I'm so excited! Everything is great: cuisine, service, ambience! And, I normally never give 5 stars! Kitchen top. Staff super nice. Bring a little bit of time as the boss rocks the kitchen alone. It's worth waiting for every minute for the food. This is a great place to chat with the neighboring table. Oh yes, booking a seat in advance helps with eating.

An absolute disaster; we went again! The restaurant apparently doesn't have enough menus, so the waitress didn't have to take any orders. Since we were also supposed to be “unplaced” in order to apparently make optimal use of the tables (our table neighbors, who had already had their starters too, by the way…), we left again. The waitress was unreasonable and unwilling to discuss or apologize. You never treat guests like that!

We felt completely welcome and comfortable on our first (and certainly not last) visit to Leopolds, The service staff is top notch and the buffet was awesome! Conclusion: A visit to Leopolds makes you happy!
