Even though the food was very good, the service ruined everything. The takeaway window was chaotic, but that stress shouldn't be taken out on the customers. It was pure mass processing, with people constantly saying "next" even before you'd received your food. This completely defeated the purpose of this sales method, as you ended up waiting just as long. Very disappointing…

Unfortunately, our first visit was very disappointing. The three of us went in and sat at a table for four, as a friend arrived later. Since she didn't want to eat, she left the restaurant and said she'd come back for coffee. When the food arrived, and immediately afterward, presumably the owner, approached us and told us we should move to a different table because there were only three of us and it was a table for four! When we explained that our friend would be back, he simply shouted, "I'm not going to be made fun of!" This is no way to treat guests, especially since the restaurant wasn't even crowded. The food was good, but that was the only positive. We will definitely not be returning to this establishment or recommending it to anyone.

Today is the Christmas market and it's raining heavily, so my husband and I wanted to get something to eat. It was very busy, with only one table for four left. We had just sat down when a server came and pointed out that it was a table for four. I replied that it wouldn't be a problem if someone else joined us. Then the server for the table came and told us that she couldn't take our order until there were four people at the table. So we left. It's sad to be treated like that.

The food is really delicious. The prices are perfectly reasonable. It's also a nice place to sit. We've been there several times now. The children are always well looked after with straws, lollipops, or Capri Sun. However, what we always notice is the hectic pace of the staff. They are friendly, but they always seem stressed. One older woman with short blonde hair, in particular, stands out negatively every time. Last time, we believe she deliberately bumped into a female employee, so that she almost landed on our table because she was in her way. Furthermore, as is often the case, she snapped at everyone. When we were leaving, even though we were still getting dressed, she cleared the table and pushed us away. At that point, no one was waiting for a table. This kind of behavior is so annoying while eating that we won't be coming back for the time being.

We wanted to stop there, but unfortunately, there were no seats available. While waiting, I urgently needed to go to the restroom. I have a 100% severe disability, which is also documented by a corresponding ID. The arrogant, unfriendly chef with white hair forbade me from using the restroom. I explained my situation to him and wanted to show him my ID. "I don't even want to see it," was the very unfriendly reply. That's not how you behave, especially not in a spa resort. A solid 6 and never again.

Today, as a guest, I witnessed disastrous, undignified behavior by one of your employees towards a guest. The guest identified himself as a severely disabled person waiting for a free table and asked for permission to use the restroom, even if it was for a fee. This was very rudely denied to the gentleman, who refused to even look at his disabled pass! Such a person should not be employed in a restaurant or health resort....I recommend cleaning the restrooms at rest stops at night when there are no customers, as cleanliness in this place is clearly very important to this gentleman!

We sat at our table outside for half an hour, then went inside to ask when we'd be served. We were told someone would be right there—but that didn't happen. So we didn't even get a chance to order. Then we just got up and left. Not recommended.

We had a delicious meal with generous portions for a good price. However, it was very warm inside while it was 15 degrees outside, so perhaps the heating was already on? Another drawback was that the bass of the music was set way too high. That's irritating when you're eating and trying to relax.

When I wanted to try the place and order something to go, I unsuspectingly went inside to order. Not a good idea... then they yell at me in front of all the customers, asking why I can't order outside at the window. Even when I ate there with my family once, the staff was very unfriendly, especially the manager! Today I wanted to order something to go again. I went to the window to order as usual, because I didn't want to be bothered... There was a sign on the window: "For a bag of fries, please come inside." But since I wanted to order a hot dog, I waited a few minutes at the slightly open window. After waiting a few minutes, an older lady snapped at me, asking if I couldn't read, as I was supposed to order inside. I went in and wanted to order a hot dog and a burger... but the completely overwhelmed lady told me that the burger wasn't going to work, after all, she had too many other orders (there were about four orders at the counter). I really feel sorry for the few staff members who were courteous and friendly, but I definitely won't be eating there again anytime soon.

We had the Bad Rothenfelder salad there. It was advertised on the menu as fresh, seasonal salad. That wasn't the case. We searched in vain for the fresh salad. The only thing was the tomatoes and cucumbers that were freshly sliced. Everything else tasted like junk food. The floor near the restroom was also very slippery. Probably because they fry openly there. All in all, we expected more.

In some situations, this is entirely understandable! Unfortunately, I found the drink prices to be outrageous (a 0.33l bottle of Coke costs 3.70 euros), bordering on extortionate!! Unfortunately, the service staff set their own tips!! Overall, I would come back for the food, but I wouldn't consider tipping there again, and I wouldn't drink there either!! 3 stars are appropriate!!

"Body & Soul" What a mess... July 27, 2025 – an absolutely terrifying experience! I went to Leib & Seele in Bad Rothenfelde today with my wife, my 12-year-old daughter, and our 11-month-old son. We ordered two burgers with fries and a bratwurst. After waiting about 35 minutes, I politely and calmly asked the counter how long it would take – pointing out that we were traveling with a small child. The response from the kitchen was disrespectful and completely inappropriate: "If you want a quick meal, go to McDonald's – we're not McDonald's!" I remained calm and friendly, although I was very surprised by his tone. When we finally decided to leave, the cook loudly insulted us as we left the restaurant, saying: "You bum – go straight to McDonald's next time!" I was absolutely speechless. This is no way to treat guests. Especially not families with small children. And certainly not in a restaurant called "Leib & Seele." We left the restaurant without our food. If I could give negative stars, it would be -100. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional, but insulting and disrespectful. A place we will definitely not return to.

Very unfriendly. We once just wanted a takeaway fries, but we were very rudely asked to go outside. You're not allowed to order anything inside unless you want to eat it there. Outside, they simply ignored us, even though they saw us. After 10 minutes, we left pretty annoyed. I've known this place for a while. The food was always good, and the service was always friendly. Unfortunately, things have changed drastically in the last four years. Everyone is totally overwhelmed, irritated, and you feel like you're not welcome at all. There was a long black hair in between them (I'm blonde with short hair), and it was simply disgusting. I had to wait 65 minutes for my fries, and it was pretty loud. The service? That was even worse. The waiter insulted me when I asked him to remake my food because of the hair. Super rude and uncouth! The cutlery was dirty and had traces of red sauce on it...disgusting. This place is simply disgusting! Trust me when I tell you that the good reviews were written by the owner's friends and family. No one can tell me that anyone enjoyed it. Not recommended.

Honestly, this restaurant (a shame it even calls itself that) is simply inadequate. The service is unfriendly, and the owner, Dieter, isn't even that great. The interior isn't even nice; I wouldn't even go there to do my business. The food is a whole different story. The decor is a wild mix of "We wanted to be chic, but forgot" and "Grandma was cleaning out." Between the plastic flowers and wall art from the 80s, I felt like I was in a parallel universe. Conclusion: If you really hate someone – give them a gift certificate for Body & Soul. I'd rather walk to school barefoot in the rain than eat there again. ✌️

No "I'm sorry" or "excuse me." Only a restaurant that relies on walk-up customers can afford something like that. I have to give it a star because otherwise I can't post.

We were here to eat. We were not received kindly at 6 p.m. Turned out to close at 7pm. They actually looked away from you. Everything cleared away immediately. The shop is somehow a mixture of a fast food restaurant and a snack bar. Been there several times over the years. The burgers are quite okay. The coffee is mediocre, more like the bakery around the corner. Otherwise everything is typical convenience food, quick, easy, cheap. The potato pancakes are terrible, but they have nothing in common with potato pancakes; even the packaged ones from the supermarket are better. Side salad? Fresh - okay, a few drops of dressing, mainly white cabbage. You can, but you don't have to. You'll look in vain for modern, hand-made dishes, and certainly nothing for those who like veggies. All in all, it's more of a snack bar with seats, although the seating is sometimes very worn.

Wir bekamen einen Waldmeistersaft, der ungenießbar war und wollten ihn bezahlen und ein neues Getränk bestellen aber der Kellner hat es abgelehnt und wollte meiner Frau kein neues Getränk bringen, da es ihr vielleicht auch nicht geschmeckt hätte. Der Chef wollte sich meine Kritik nicht einmal anhören. Nie wieder!

Essen ist fürchterlich.... Service versucht nett zu sein, aber schaffen es nicht... Industriewahre, billigste, Reibekuchen aus Kartoffelbrei und dunkel braun frittiert dazu Apfelmus wie Babybrei mit Kristallzucker. Also billige Imbiss wahren für viel Geld... Nicht zum empfehlen.

Unfortunately I was very disappointed today. I had ordered wedges and wanted to have 2 fried eggs on the wedges. Unfortunately, this request was canceled because the wedges are only served in a wire basket. That was fine with me too and so I placed the order. The waiter who served us then went to the cook and made fun of her about my “weird” order. The food was just average. The day before, I had already ordered a portion of fries from the to-go window. I was served so cheekily by a visibly annoyed person that I was glad I ordered take-away. Apparently the store didn't want to take advantage of the second chance either, so I'll probably never set foot in it again.

Worst service. My wife and I, who sit in a wheelchair, were forbidden from eating the goods we bought at the window and eating them at the table next to us. When asked, the VAT difference was stated, although the price in the store was the same. Naughty and stupid. That's it. Thank you for that. Then we ate on the bench opposite at the bus stop.
