Bismarck-Hütte in Bad Rothenfelde

I celebrated my birthday here and it was fantastic! I can highly recommend it. The children had their own area upstairs, and everyone else was downstairs. There was plenty of space for seating, a dance floor, and DJs. We were about 50 people, including the kids. The guests were thrilled too. It was nicely secluded, just what we were looking for.

The hut makes a very good impression... Unfortunately, it was closed for a private event on Saturday afternoon. Absolutely disappointing... Many hikers made the trek in vain.

Unloved and questionably hygienic. The counter and other counters are full of dirty dishes. If the location weren't so beautiful, we'd have to advise against it. A real shame!

We were there yesterday and spent a good hour sitting in front of the hut, enjoying the beautiful scenery. There are very nice paths for walking to the hut.

Whenever we're in Bad Rothenfelde, we visit the hut. They offer simple but tasty dishes and a good selection of drinks. The price-performance ratio is excellent. The team is friendly and tries to please everyone. This becomes difficult when it's busy, though. But with a little patience, everything works out. 😉 Update 06/2025: We stand by what we wrote. However, on June 22, 2025, we went to the hut. This was the second time we've encountered the hut on a Sunday, and this time on a long weekend, it was closed. We weren't the only ones annoyed. Not so much about being closed, but about the lack of information. This could be announced on the website or on social media. Many people assume the hut is open in this hot weather if there's no indication otherwise. But not opening without prior notice is unacceptable. So, dear guests, be careful not to arrive to find the doors locked. We're deducting one star for this.

Great hut. You can sit comfortably here and enjoy food and drink. Unfortunately, it was scorching hot on the day of my hike, so I'll postpone my visit until next time 🌱

A rustic restaurant nestled in the forest between Bad Rothenfelde and Bad Laer. It serves light meals and homemade cakes. Outdoor seating is also available, as is a children's playground. The surrounding hiking trails invite you to take long hikes. Prices are reasonable, and service is friendly.

Very unfortunate that there is nothing about vacation either on the internet or on the notice board down in Bad Rothenfelde, now we are up here with the children for free. I think you can just specify something like that on Google or at least specify it at the bottom of the exit.

I discovered this beautifully located hut by chance on a hike. The hut is comfortably furnished and you can grab a bite to eat and drink something cold or warm. The service is good and the food tasted good too.

We had a celebration at the Bismarckhütte for the third time: wedding, birthday, Oktoberfest, and we were thrilled. The location is great and you can rely on the landlady Maike because she is a professional. Thank you dear Maike, we'll be back!!!

Unfortunately it was done in an amateurish manner. Can you do more with it? Toilets were very dirty.

It seemed like there was no interest in customers. After about 10 minutes, I took the initiative and ordered something myself. Toilets disgusting. Not recommended. 👎

Very nice place to take a break. The prices are high and the food is limited. I was a little surprised by the fries. I expected a little more here There was no vegetarian dish. The dark beer was good.

It's a nice place if you want to linger, the playground is okay, drinks are good and tasty. The service is good, you have to wait a bit when you order. The beautiful view and the spacious outdoor area make it better.

During a walk we stopped by the Bismack Hut and had something to drink there. We were warmly welcomed and very well served. The inside of the hut has a great atmosphere.

Nice excursion restaurant, but very inconspicuous from the outside. You can't immediately see whether it's even open. However, the interior is very successful and comfortable. Fast service and fairly moderate prices.

Very nice restaurant, especially in a great location in the forest. Even if you're not that good on foot, you can get up there without any problems because you can park in different places depending on how far you want to walk. But it's definitely worth it as a starting point for hikes in the Bad Rothenfelde / Bad Laer area

The right place to stop after a short walk. The fries are awesome! Let yourself be pampered. However, you should pay attention to the opening times and, if necessary, call to see if it is open. 😅

Eine "Wander"-hütte, wie es sie nicht mehr häufig gibt. Wir wandern gern zwischen Bad Laer und Rothenfelde und kehren sehr gerne in der Bismarckhütte ein. Kaffee und der tolle selbstgemachte Kuchen. Und zum Abschluss ein Bier, bzw. Wein. Und gefällt es dort sehr.

Prima Location mit wirklich nettem Personal. Ideal für eine Wanderpause zum Auftanken.

Leider gibt es da oben keine Aussicht nur Bäume rund umzu. Es wäre schön, wenn zumindestens zu einer Seite hin eine Aussicht bestehen würde. Ansonsten alles ordentlich draußen, nur vom Service her nicht ganz so fit. Dauert alles sehr lange und man weiß nicht, ist Selbstbedienung oder nicht. Dann ist es nicht so schön, wenn die Kuchenstücke so unterschiedlich geschnitten sind. Wir bekamen ein großes Stück und das andere war merklich kleiner, obwohl beides Blechkuchen waren. Zu Anfang hatten wir mit der Beschilderung des Weges etwas Probleme. Ein Schild war fast komplett im Gestrüpp eingewachsen.

Sehr entspannter Ort. Die Karte ist klein, alle Gerichte die wir bestellt haben waren super. Es gibt einen Spielplatz für Kinder, Hunde sind willkommen (im Außenbereich, drinnen weiß ich nicht).

Erstmal brauchst du echt guten Waden da es ist schwierig es zu erreichen. Bring dein Fahrrad nicht. Es gibt keine Aussicht. Nur Bäume. Und es war verwirrtvoll zu verstehen, ob es eine Selbstbedienung oder nicht besteht. Bier schmeckt sehr gut.

Ganz tolle Wanderhütte mit freundlichem Service und gutem Essen. Der Biergarten, die Gaststube sind sauber, gemütlich und freundlich. Kleine aber ausgewogene Karte und Kuchenbuffet. Die Gegend bitet Wandermöglichkeiten für alle.......und das Hüttenhelle-Bier ist das geheime Highlight!

Netter Ort um bei einer Wanderung oder Fahrradtour eine Pause zu machen. Die Gulaschsuppe war sehr lecker 😋. Bitte die Öffnungszeiten beachten !!!

Es ist eine sehr schöne Hütte, Ambiente stimmt der Außenbereich bietet Platz auch für große Gruppen und für länger verweilen. Ich habe etwas länger als letzte in unserer Gruppe auf mein essen gewartet.

Wir waren am 1. Mai dort. Pures Chaos und zu wenig Personal. Das Personal was dort war, war freundlich und geeignet. Ich habe eine Ofenkartoffel bestellt und habe etwas anderes erhalten. Die Portion war zu klein und ich bin nicht satt geworden. Die Pommes waren weich und ungsalzen. Mir hat es leider nicht geschmeckt. Die Getränke waren aber gut. Dort werde ich in Zukunft nur noch Getränke bestellen. Bin leider unzufrieden.

Ein schönes Ausflugslokal auf dem Berg über Bad Rothenfelde mit einem kleinen aber völlig ausreichendem Angebot zu zivilen Preisen.

War leider geschlossen, aber die Lage und Ambiente ist sehr schön und die Natur, auch wenn hier der Birkenkäfer zugeschlagen hat richtig schön. Die Wanderwege sind auch nicht zu steil und gut ausgebaut. Deutschland ist schön und wir kommen wieder

Bei der Wanderung entdeckt. Ein sehr schöner zwischen stop. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Das Hüttenbier ist sehr zu empfehlen. Auf alle Fälle eine Rast wert.

Lecker und ein toller Ausblick auf die Natur

Sehr schön gelegene Gaststätte, hatten nur einen Kaffee deshalb können wir nicht mehr zum Essen sagen. Der Spielplatz vor dem Außenbereich ganz toll,da kann man im Sommer auch Sitz und hat die Kinder immer im Blick.

Freundliches Personal, gutes Aussicht, Preise etwas gehoben, der Milchkaffee war lecker.
