We spontaneously decided to eat at the beach on January 1st, 2026! The food was delicious! My wife had schnitzel, which was very tender. I had a baked rump steak, cooked medium as requested! The service was very friendly! It was a wonderful start to the new year!

A great place to eat and drink well in a very pleasant atmosphere. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. I highly recommend it.

We stumbled upon this wonderful, lovingly decorated place while strolling around. We received an incredibly warm welcome and immediately felt at ease. The food was fantastic: quantity and quality were spot on. ***** The price-performance ratio was unbeatable... Conclusion: Highly recommended!!!

Good and affordable food, Polish specialties, perfect for trying Polish cuisine, delicious home-style cooking of high quality, good and very attentive service, a bit hidden away but definitely recommended. The owners, Ania and Arnold, are excellent hosts.

A home-style restaurant with friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. The menu included various classics, such as schnitzel and steaks, as well as more unusual dishes like liver and Polish dishes such as bigos (similar to Szeged goulash) and pierogi (dumplings). We had a schnitzel from the 1900s and a Texas steak. The schnitzel was crispy and thin, and the steak was perfectly cooked. As with most dishes, it was served with fresh fried potatoes made from pre-cooked potatoes or French fries and a mixed salad. The latter was delicious with its roasted seeds. Overall impression: decent food, worth the money, but nothing particularly special.

I've known the Anno for, I think, 15 years now. I knew the owner, Peter, well; he no longer works there due to health reasons. I've met many people here, experienced some new waitresses at the bar, made friends, and spent long evenings. I still go there regularly and enjoy cozy evenings! Thank you, Kristina, Anna, and Silvia, for always keeping an eye on things, even when it's full, and providing us with drinks and food. This place must remain as our only quaint pub. In these difficult times, going out to a restaurant is always a good distraction from everything else going on in the world. I can wholeheartedly recommend the food, especially the Polish dishes. And everything Bad Rothenfelde is currently saying about the Anno isn't true! Especially after being taken over by Anja and Arnold, it finally has the charm it had back in Peter's day; it's busy again, and there's good music playing. I haven't seen it this busy in years; almost every table is taken almost every evening. The Anno has really benefited from this, and I can recommend it to everyone. Luckily, Bad Rothenfelde has kept this restaurant! With that in mind, stay with us!

Anyone who loves charity, a good old pub atmosphere, and a well-tapped beer should stop by Anja's. I went with high hopes. (Tip from a local) My expectations were exceeded! Super friendly bar staff. Really quaint and cozy. Awesome bar. You feel like a king here. And contrary to the beautiful "old" decor, the restrooms are ultra-modern and spotless! I actually just wanted to go to the bathroom. I asked the lady at the counter nicely... I got the nice answer that it was no problem to use the very clean restroom for only €2. With a very sweet smile, she said to me: "Why don't you have a nice beer, then the trip will be free!" I went to pee...after about three minutes of going out, a wonderfully cold, perfectly tapped pilsner was already waiting for me! I enjoyed it so much that I stayed for ten beers and a really good schnitzel. One of the best spontaneous decisions I've ever made. Really cool pub! And the food is top-notch! Go for it! The most delicious food ever. And the service is absolutely top-notch, too. And sorry to Mr. Thiel, it's normal that if you're not a guest in a restaurant, you can't use the restroom for free. And what I find totally rude of you, and I have to say, nobody needs people like you, is that the restroom is well-maintained, and when you intentionally clog it, I wonder what your situation is like at home.

It's in the basement. Using the toilet for €2 is pretty disrespectful for dirty, old, clogged toilets.

We came here spontaneously. The place captivates with its ambiance, similar to that of an English pub. The homely welcome, combined with a cuisine that masterfully embodies the term "home cooking," is truly impressive! Thank you for the wonderful time!

The landlord is a real character, open and honest with everyone, and quick to serve. Platitudes and barroom slogans are often thrown around here, but that's what pubs are for, after all.

There were two of us and we wanted to eat asparagus. The restaurant is quaintly decorated in the basement. Drinks service was quick. Food orders were taken quickly. The food was prepared just as quickly. Unfortunately, the ham was sold out, so I got cooked ham instead. The plate was well presented. I don't know how they eat asparagus here, but I think it's not supposed to be firm enough to slice or bite. The excuse was that they eat it differently everywhere. My colleague had a schnitzel with it, which I thought was too thin. The hollandaise sauce was from a packet and unfortunately not homemade. I can't comment on the other dishes. Conclusion: I can only recommend the restaurant with reservations.

There were two of us at one Saturday evening in this quaint pub - without a reservation, which wasn't a problem at all. The food surprised us positively, it was delicious and tasted very homemade (schnitzel “Anno 1900” and schnitzel “Wiliams” each with fried potatoes and several small salads prepared separately)!! We were particularly pleased with the super warm, friendly and cheerful service and the also super friendly kitchen staff. It was a really great evening, thank you very much and we would love to come back!!

Food was ready meals zero 8 15 and everything was completely overpriced! You don't have to have it! And you had to eat something again afterwards to fill yourself up...

A very quaint restaurant with delicious beer, but not recommended for eating out! The portions and the presentation are not appropriate for the price range. There were three of us and to be honest we have never seen such a small portion anywhere. We ordered, among other things, a Holstein schnitzel with a small, half-burnt fried egg on it and a handful of fries. For €19.50 or €20.20 with mayo, you can find significantly better quality and more generous portions in similar restaurants. So you had to eat something afterwards to fill yourself up. Was disappointing. The calculation does not seem appropriate. A schnitzel with mushrooms, onions and ham costs the same as a schnitzel with just onions. A men's and women's toast was also advertised on the menu as a "little thing" with 2 pork medallions and a toast for €18.50. This makes you wish for other, cheaper dishes for a “small hunger” or as a starter.

Unfortunately I was only there to drink beer but everyone was very friendly.

The decoration and sayings in the restaurant and in the bathroom are very nice. However, we had to wait over an hour for the food, which only deserved the grade of sufficient. There is definitely a lot of room for improvement in terms of how things could be improved. We won't go there anymore.

A somewhat hidden but quaint restaurant! Very friendly and nice service, I was even called back because no one answered the phone before 6 p.m. so I was able to reserve a table! The food was very tasty, for me the breading of the schnitzel could have been a little crispier but the meat was tender, well seasoned and tasty, as were the fried potatoes. The service is also very attentive and hard-working, drinks come quickly. Really recommended.

Delicious food! We had a look at the kitchen from our seat, everything was freshly baked and the lady serving did a great job! Modest but with a big heart.

We have been visiting Bad Rothenfelde from Krefeld for 4 years. Anno 1900 is a cozy evening restaurant. Good home cooking. The schnitzels are particularly recommended. Nice owner and friendly service. We are six friends and always like to come back.

I was here from the US and one of the locals recommended this place for a good local meal. We went for dinner. Dinner was delicious and the chef and service were so kind and friendly. If you want to try some traditional polish/german food, this is the place to be.

War schön aber leider hat die Bedienung kaum Deutsch gesprochen und hat kaum unsere Getränke Bestellung verstanden das war schade aber sie hat sich viel mühe gegeben..sonst ein netten interessantes Lokal ..

Waren am vergangenen WE mit 5 Personen dort. Haben über 2Std! auf unser Essen warten müssen. Wenn es sich wenigstens gelohnt hätte. Aber das Essen war weder besonders gut, noch besonders schlecht. Wirtshausqualität eben. Der Service war zwar freundlich, aber überfordert. Da richtet auch das nette Ambiente nicht mehr viel aus. Schade. Wir erfuhren von ebenfalls enttäuschten Gästen, dass wohl der Wirt gewechselt habe.

Doe het niet vaak 5 sterren. Na een middag in de thermale baden smaakte de eerste Franziskaner uitstekend. Vervolgens een schnitzel en schweinenlende gedeeld, echt smaakvol. Toffe bediening. We komen zeker terug

Wir kommen immerwieder gerne. Das Essen ist gleichbleibend sehr gut und wird immer frisch zubereitet. Ich liebe das Schnitzel Madagaskar mit Bratkartoffeln. Auch meine Sonderwünsche wegen Allergien werden stets liebevoll berücksichtigt. Danke. Die Location ist einfach unbeschreiblich gemütlich. Nach dem Essen bleiben wir fast immer bis zum Abschließen und genießen noch die netten Gespräche an der Theke. Bis bald und liebe Grüße!

Es ist seid Jahren die Gaststätte wo ich einkehre ....wenn ich mal wieder in Bad Rothenfelde bin....und nächste Woche ist es wieder so weit....ab Mittwoch bin ich wieder im Anno..1900.....freue mich ..

Super Lokal war im Dezember 2019 zur Reha in Bad Rothenfelde und ab und zu im Anno 1900. Bin bald wieder in Bad Rothenfelde zur Reha und werde dann wieder gern einkehren.

Spontan Abends eingekehrt. Leider waren alle Tische schon reserviert aber wir haben einen schönen Platz an der Theke bekommen. Die Bedienung ist sehr aufmerksam und das Essen war einfach Klasse. Das erklärt das man hier vorbestellen sollte. Wir waren nicht zum letzen Mal hier. Danke für den schönen Abend.

Mega leckere Schnitzel, der Salat dazu genau so gut! Sehr freundliche Bedienung und die Chefin versteht auch polnisch (also die eine negative Bewertung können wir nicht nachvollziehen). Sehr tolles Ambiente! Einen Tisch sollte man auf jeden Fall reservieren! Sehr gerne wieder!

Es ist eine wunderschöne urige kleine "Kneipe" wo auch noch geknoobelt wird. Herrlich. Essen sehr,sehr lecker. Hier kocht die Chefin noch selber und alles frisch und die Servicekraft einfach spitze. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Danke für den tollen Abend.

Das Lokal verspricht nicht zu viel . Wer gerne Schnitzel isst, ist dort gut aufgehoben. Für mich war eines der besten Schnitzel die ich je gegessen habe . Die Chefin und das Personal sind sehr freundlich und die Einrichtung ist Programm . Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen!

Anno 1900, eine urige Gastätte, wie damals, Service sehr nett, Essen wirklich klasse. Steak auf den Punkt gebracht, das Schnitzel richtig saftig. Beim Salat dachte ich erst, naja wieder fertig aus dem Gras, aber NEIN, frisch gemacht, ein absoluter Gaumenschmaus.

Wir sind spontan ohne Reservierung dort gewesen. Wir konnten trotzdem einen Platz bekommen und haben ein schönen Abend dort verbracht. Das Essen war sehr Lecker und Getränke wurden schnell serviert. Wir können das Lokal weiterempfehlen.
