Lehners Wirtshaus Rastatt in Rastatt

We celebrated our Christmas party this year at Lehners Wirtshaus with a large group. We received a warm welcome upon arrival, and the entire team was exceptionally well-organized. Despite the size of our group, everything ran smoothly: orders were taken promptly, the food arrived at the table simultaneously, and special requests were easily accommodated. A big thank you to the staff, whose friendly manner made the evening even more enjoyable. We felt completely at ease and would definitely recommend Lehners Wirtshaus again for a celebration or simply for a relaxing evening.

We ate at this restaurant yesterday (December 6th)... Venison goulash 👍👍 (AMAZING)... My cheese spaetzle were also AMAZING 👍👍, they could have been a tad better 🔥... Thanks for the great evening 🙏😋😋

Tasteless, overcooked pasta in a bland, plaster-like consistency. A pathetic tarte flambée: chunks of bread with practically nothing inside. Avoid at all costs.

Very wholesome and historic restaurant, with very good meat portions, and also have a very good vegan schnitzel and the salad dressing is vegan and a good options

We attended a family celebration at Lehners Wirtshaus last weekend. The arrangements beforehand were extremely straightforward and efficient. Everything was prepared exactly as agreed. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive to our needs. We definitely want to thank them for the delicious food. Highly recommended! We'd love to come back.

Good food, great selection of drinks, and a fantastic atmosphere. The food isn't exactly cheap. They have excellent cocktails and regularly offer specials like happy hours or "toss" to get a beer at a good price. The restrooms are neat and clean. I always enjoy coming here.

We had to wait 1.15 hours for two burgers. A tour group arrived after us and got their food before us, so we had to wait that long.

Cozy and rustic decor. In summer, there's a lovely outdoor area, away from the road. Very friendly staff. Excellent value for money.

On the way to the castle, we noticed this inviting restaurant and, in the beautiful weather, we sat outside on the terrace. It's a lovely place to sit with a view of the castle. The service was very polite, attentive, and genuinely friendly. I immediately noticed this positively. We felt immediately welcome. There's something for every taste on the food and drink menu. The Maultaschen (swabian ravioli) in gravy with potato salad were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!

The food was great and the staff was very friendly. But friendliness alone isn't enough. It's just annoying when you have to ask repeatedly, even if it's just an ashtray. And that's been the case every time.

Everything was delicious. Unfortunately, I missed the sausage salad. Instead, there are other delicious things. It's the second Sunday of Advent, and each person gets a free mulled wine or children's punch. Great idea. Hence the full stars. The staff are very friendly. Update 09/29/25: The last rays of autumn sunshine. It would have been so nice if the "beer garden" had been open. After the waitress informed me, the manager didn't want that. Sorry. The terrace was open, but it wasn't in the sun. Other cafés were open and were making money. Too bad. Lehners doesn't want that. Making money. A general notice on the posters or displays would also be a good idea.

A Wiener Schnitzel nightmare; anyone who eats it here will never order it again. Instead of fried potatoes, they serve a large plate of halved oven-baked potatoes, with a medium-sized schnitzel in one corner. The breading wasn't crispy and had separated from the meat, making it soggy. Anyone who thought the dessert would even partially make up for the deficit was even more disappointed. Frozen Kaiserschmarren of the worst kind, disgusting; only the decoration, red currants, was convincing. And to top it all off, they hand you a hefty bill instead of schnapps - crazy!

Two of us went for dinner and got a table without a reservation on a Friday evening. The restaurant's interior and terrace were busy. The service was really great; a very nice and friendly waitress brought us the menu quite quickly. Since we had to take a bus to Baden Airport that evening, I told the waitress and asked if it would take long to get our food. She said she'd take care of it, and I remember that within about 15 minutes we had our food, and before that, our drinks. And what can I say? The food was really delicious, it tasted great, and my wife and I were extremely satisfied. The very friendly service, the food, the ambiance, and the prices – everything was just right. We had a pleasant evening, made our bus on time, and our vacation, already in Rastatt at Lehners Wirtshaus, got off to a really great start. This won't be our last visit. Thank you!

Delicious food and great service

It has an old military casino feel, the service is super friendly, and the roast pork is a dream. Again, big praise for the service. The bar is also a real eye-catcher. We've been here three times now and will be back next year.

Lehner's in Rastatt For 20 years, I've enjoyed going there for something to eat or drink.

Actually, everything was perfect except for the half-rotten radishes in the salad.

Hello dear readers, I always really enjoyed coming here for a drink with friends in the evening, but the service is really slow and unmotivated. The food is delicious, but the wait spoils my appetite!

The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly special. The price-performance ratio wasn't really good. The music was incredibly loud, so it was impossible to entertain yourself.

A cozy restaurant with an outdoor terrace. The menu offers a wide variety. Food and drinks were served promptly, although the chef forgot my meal. The friendly waitress made up for it. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious German dishes. The value for money is excellent. A definite recommendation

The atmosphere is wonderful, set in the castle grounds with the castle within sight, with plenty of seating inside and outside. Very tasty napkin dumplings. Prices are still reasonable.

The food was delicious, and there was something for everyone. It was difficult to get a free seat, but that's more of a plus for the restaurant than a minus.

I was here with my cousin. The atmosphere was all very nice, but I have to say that when it's busy, you have to wait a long time. The food was okay, but nothing fancy. The waitress was very nice and friendly. It's a good place to drink, but the food isn't so great. It's a shame about the food.

The food is good and the portions are large, but unfortunately expensive. But the drinks are just as expensive as in other restaurants.

A lovely place to have a drink and lunch or dinner. A very pleasant atmosphere. It has a very spacious terrace and the interior is also large, with plenty of tables.

A beautifully inviting beer garden. Great menu, but whether the food tastes good? I have no idea. We didn't get anything... because it was too busy, the kitchen was closed until further notice. Until they clean up. You can wait up to an hour for drinks. When I complained, they said... they're sitting down. We're leaving. We have it worse than them... we were sitting in the blazing sun in over 30 degrees and just wanted something to drink and a bite to eat. This place doesn't need it. And they'll never see us again.

The atmosphere convinced us that we might even be treated kindly as guests! We had to wait at first to be noticed, then the drinks we ordered arrived about 20 minutes later. Okay, it was busy. Again, we were ignored for ages, and after calling out several times, a waitress became very rude: "You're just sitting around, we have it worse. You're wondering who has it worse." According to the friendly waitress!! No more food orders were being taken. Apparently, there was chaos because of the Sarah Connor concert. Thanks for the unfriendly hospitality. I don't necessarily need to have that again.

I don't understand the praise this restaurant receives. Prices are high, but the food quality is poor. The Maultaschen were seared and not melted, the pepper steak was almost cooked and not medium. Maybe it was just bad luck. The atmosphere is okay, and the service is excellent. In any case, not a new favorite.

A great, modern restaurant with reasonable prices, large portions, and vegan options. Attentive service staff who also take a moment to speak to guests. Upon request, other dishes can be prepared vegan in addition to the vegan schnitzel, such as fried mushrooms (not fried in butter) with a large salad.

Hot meals served all day, on the terrace in beautiful weather. Cool soft drinks, excellent food, lovely ambiance, generous portions, very tasty, attentive service. Keep it up, we'll be back! The downside is that the ashtrays, for those who hate them, create a disgusting stench on the terrace. From a gastronomic perspective, I would bring them to the table upon request. Out of 20 guests on the terrace, no one smoked!

When the weather's nice, you can sit on the terrace overlooking the park. It's very cozy. There's paid parking directly in front of the restaurant. Our service was very friendly. The menu selection is good, and the food was delicious.

Absolutely incomprehensible: Happy Hour starts at 10:00 p.m., and the bar closes at 10:30 p.m. When we ordered our first drink during Happy Hour, we were immediately informed that it was the last round. At exactly 10:30 p.m., the lights were turned out, and the seat cushions were stolen from behind our backsides, even though we hadn't even finished our drinks yet. Customer service/customer friendliness definitely looks different.

We spent three days in Rastatt and had dinner there all three evenings. Sitting on the terrace at sunset, receiving friendly service and eating and drinking very well. You can't get more for your money. Optimal price-performance ratio. Thank you!

Fantastic food, great service and cozy atmosphere! I had the pleasure of eating at Lehners Wirtshaus Rastatt and I absolutely love it! The food was excellent, the Maultaschen with gravy were perfectly prepared, the side dishes were fresh and tastefully balanced. The salad was also crisp and lovingly prepared. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Our drinks were served quickly and we really felt at home here as a guest. The ambience is cozy and stylish, a mix of traditional charm and modern comfort. The mural in particular gives the room a special atmosphere. I can fully recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back!

Large, spacious, large covered terrace... 1 time inside a high ceiling. I had a very good meal there, impeccable service despite the language barrier (the waitress speaks French 👍😂)

Bon rapport qualité prix. Restaurant très propre. La schnitzel pannée et excellente et pas grâce du tout. Le seul hic c’est qu’à notre arrivée la serveuse a pris la commande des boissons, les a servies et est revenue quinze minutes plus tard pour prendre la commande du repas.

Typical badisch nothing less, nothing more.

Wir haben heute den verkaufsoffenen Sonntag in Rastatt genutzt und uns bei Euch ein kühles Bier in der Sonne gegönnt. Der Service war wirklich freundlich und aufmerksam – ein großes Lob dafür! Allerdings finden wir es schade, dass Kartenzahlungen erst ab 10 € möglich sind. Wir hatten 9,60 €, diese Grenze ist aus unserer Sicht nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Als moderne Systemgastronomie wäre es toll, wenn Ihr einen Schritt in Richtung des neuen Jahrtausends macht und hier mehr Flexibilität ermöglicht.

Unique place. The ambience is excellent. The food is good but could be better given the presentation.

Apparently I have different tastes like everyone else, especially in Germany - but what I ate at Lehners was bad. The same thing happened to me in Karlsruhe. Sorry, as someone who lives in France, I'm spoiled. But a potato salad from a can, industrial Maultaschen fried in expired oil. No. No. No. Again? Never!

Very good hostel with smiling staff and typical decoration

Very attentive service and a pleasant atmosphere in a very large room with beautiful 1960s wall lights. A huge wall full of spirits and modern, oversized Black Forest art on the walls. It's quite good. Since I only had dessert, I can't say much about the food...but I'll probably catch up on that later. Oh, and the music was unobtrusive: light rock, 60s...I thought it was a pleasant mix.

The still water is a disaster. Maybe you can change something there. I couldn't drink it. Bad Liebenzell or Alwa water wasn't good. My friends also thought it was horrible. Otherwise nothing exciting. The standard food was okay.

Service very unfriendly and simply kicked out because of nothing. Simply ignored by the waitress for at least 30 minutes and when spoken to they cheekily said: "Why don't you say anything, you have a mouth?"

We ate there during our visit to Rastatt on Valentine's Day, but it was already 5 p.m., so when we were there neither the kitchen nor the service staff were overloaded because there was nothing going on... The roast pork was not tasty...It was 2 slices 3cm thick and very firm and tough...the potato dumplings with it had a strange taste.. Also, the food wasn't hot so it definitely wasn't fresh... I come from the catering industry, you have to sell pork crust roast fresh or not at all... A waitress was very nice and wanted to bring me another portion but I didn't want the same thing again... When I was clearing away the food, another waitress asked me again if everything was OK after I had left half of it on my plate. She wanted to explain to me that the meat was only so firm because the pig was stressed during slaughter... The schnitzel wasn't great either...but it was better than my roast pork... If we go to Rastatt again we will unfortunately eat somewhere else... We ate much better elsewhere...sorry...

Good place, cozy inside, I very like idea with bottles on the wall. We have our beloved dishes there, it's Flammkuchen vegetarisch and pommes(it's just not usually pommes), attention staff, good cocktails( also they make more bigger size- jumbo, good proportion, not only ice) ...very popular place, but usually not need wait.

I'm in Rastatt for training and was eating here with a colleague. It was nice here, the service was friendly and smart and the food came incredibly quickly and was plentiful and tasty. I liked the atmosphere! I can only recommend the restaurant. In summer it's definitely even more awesome with the terrace and view of the castle.
