Hello, We ate at Le Petit Chef yesterday at the Steigenberger Hotel. We had booked a wine pairing with our meal in advance. Both were good, and we had a pleasant evening. Of course, I could make a few critical comments, as I have many years of experience in the restaurant industry. But I don't have to, because the overall package was perfect. However, I have to address one point that first caught my attention today: we were charged for water, even though it was supposed to be included in the wine pairing, just like soft drinks and coffee.

The atmosphere of the dinner was very stylish, the entertainment very exciting and entertaining, and the food itself was outstanding—high quality and beautifully presented. All in all, it was an outstanding overall experience.

The experience fully met my expectations. I would particularly like to highlight the quality of the multimedia component, which exceeded my expectations. The food and service were good, as expected. It's an extraordinary and unique experience that you should definitely try at least once—and it's especially good if you're traveling with children.

The experience was very enjoyable, even though there were longer wait times at the beginning due to technical issues. In our opinion, the format also didn't fully realize its potential. A better adaptation of the dishes to the show would have been great. Furthermore, the price-performance ratio isn't entirely justified, in our opinion.

So far, everything was very good, but I have to deduct one star because the drinks at this hotel are absolutely extortionate. We paid €19.00 for a small glass of wine, and a Hugo cost exactly the same. Somehow, the price is completely out of proportion.

Le Petit Chef is a truly unique experience! Incredibly delicious food and watching the little chefs prepare the dishes make the evening truly special. Even though it's quite expensive, we highly recommend everyone visit the little chef at least once!

The atmosphere was very pleasant and the food was really good. And considering it was also a birthday surprise, it was a truly wonderful experience overall, full of fun, imagination, and delicious dishes. Thank you very much, we would love to come back.

We received a very warm welcome as soon as we walked in. Even though we didn't order any additional drinks or anything else (because we were very satisfied with the wine pairing, which was a great match for the meal), and we were expecting a miracle from the kitchen at short notice due to an intolerance, the service was more than accommodating and genuinely tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The whole experience, with the table as a screen, was very entertaining and well-integrated (the children at the table behind us seemed to be having a lot of fun). The five courses were magnificent, with intense flavors and delicious ingredients, without over-seasoning the food. Dreamy mussels, tender meat, and delicious vegetables. But the dessert exceeded all expectations, and the kitchen surprisingly performed the expected miracle. Instead of simply giving me a different version of the planned dessert because of my rudeness, or leaving me hanging, the kitchen really went above and beyond and actually made me a heavenly crème brûlée, with fresh raspberries and little biscuits that melted in my mouth like cotton candy. I really wasn't expecting that. All in all, a successful evening. It wasn't cheap, of course, but it's not something you do every day. We won't soon forget the evening and will definitely do it again. A tip wasn't expected, but it was all the more welcome. Thanks to the service and the team.

The only positive thing is the show. The rest is just a rip-off. :(

An original event with a combination of 3D animation and culinary delights - the price level, however, is very ambitious.

Delicious food in a beautiful setting, paired with a witty, innovative presentation concept. We also had a birthday cake for the occasion, making it an all-around wonderful evening for all of us.

It was a truly magical evening with the little chef and his colleagues from all over the world... My daughter recommended "Le Petit Chef" to me, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it... The courses were all excellently prepared, and the service was very friendly and competent, but that wasn't the focus for us this time. The entire virtual event surrounding the "preparation" of the menu, each course a new story, a new entry in the culinary competition. Each course prepared with a pretty, lively scene on the tablecloth, accompanied by appropriate music... The Spanish chef's waving fields of corn and the Japanese competitor's koi pond are particularly memorable for us, and now, when we stand by a field blown by the wind, our thoughts always return to that evening. We remember them fondly. We celebrated a 70th birthday and our 44th wedding anniversary that evening. We had booked the "little surprise" and were expecting a small decorated muffin. We were surprised when the little surprise turned out to be a rather large, delicious chocolate mousse cake, even labeled to match our occasions... It was truly a very special surprise, and thank you again for that. We left the restaurant that evening feeling exhilarated and happy; you couldn't ask for more from a night out... and, as mentioned, the impressions still stay with us today... Certainly not the cheapest way to spend an evening, but worth every single cent, truly priceless...

An unforgettable experience with great food and performance

It was a birthday present for our daughter. As an 11-year-old, she's a true reflection of how boring or entertaining something can be. She followed everything with great curiosity and enjoyment. As a young vegetarian, she enjoyed eating her first piece of meat in months. Many thanks to the team in front of and behind the scenes.

Overall, it was a lovely evening and an interesting experience, but I don't think the price is justified at all. If it cost €100 per person, I could recommend it, but not at the current Düsseldorf price.

The show itself is cute and nice. That is a unique experience that might be worth the price for some. If you count in the food and the quality compared to what you pay then it's not the best alternative. The food was lacking a bit of flavor although well prepared and the portion size very decent. Overall nice but factor in the price and the atmosphere then it's not worth it. When the dinner is over they had one waiter that took payments from all tables, which means that you feel like just sitting and waiting to be allowed to leave.

The best experience ever. The food was so delicious and well prepared. Great staff and an awesome place o have the most delicious pasta or salad for lunch.

The first time was a great experience and a culinary delight. The second time was disappointing because the food arrived very late and there was a disturbance in the hall. We also had 2 disruptive factors in the hall: two young ladies sitting directly at the next table who were passed by an education. Cell phone, loud conversations and legs on the table... it's crazy that none of the waiters threw them out. Apparently they didn't have to pay anything for the tickets themselves. Disrespectful.

A unique experience - both culinary and visual. It's not boring for a second. We have been there three times now and will be back for the fourth time!

The show is funny and very amusing. The matching food is exciting and rounds off the evening's story well. A dinner that not everyone has and is welcome to experience. Since we didn't have a voucher, we were allowed to pay the full price, which is already very demanding. But then the show pulls it out again. Still nothing for every week. We stayed in Düsseldorf's Steigenberger Hotel. The ambience of the show room there is more reminiscent of a dining room on the Titanic. Certainly anything but modern. Even the armchairs were hardly movable because of their weight; something like that was built and used more around the 1940s. You could say that the old paint is gone, but it's still somehow interesting here.

An absolute dream for the eyes, nose and palate! Everyone MUST experience this once.

We have already been to the Steigenberger Le petit Chef twice to see or eat. Both shows were great. It was very pleasant that it was never full, so there was no noise or cafeteria feeling. Waiters always very attentive and the animation with the food always transitions perfectly. Of course the food was always great. We would immediately book another film in Düsseldorf.

Everything went well and was a great experience

Very tasty food, unique experience and great atmosphere. Of course, it's not exactly cheap in terms of price.

Unfortunately disappointing and not recommended Unfortunately, our visit to le Petit Chef in Düsseldorf at the Steigenberger was a big disappointment. Despite a hefty price of €811 for four people, the quality left something to be desired in many areas. The food was served cold, which is absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant of this price range. The lactose-free version was particularly disappointing: while the other guests received dessert, I was carelessly served three scoops of sorbet. The difference also became clear at the final chocolate service: everyone got chocolates, but I got half a strawberry, a raspberry and a blackberry - a disproportionate and loveless offer. The ambience also didn't contribute to the feel-good atmosphere. The seat with a view of the hallway and a jacket rack was not very inviting. The service seemed cold and emotionless, as if the employees had no joy in their work. What was particularly irritating was the animation on offer, which was more geared towards children and seemed inappropriate in a 5-star hotel with an inappropriate sound concept. All in all, our visit to this restaurant was a disappointment. For the price we would have expected much more - in service, quality and ambience. Unfortunately we cannot recommend the restaurant

Great idea, terrible implementation. It's absolutely not worth the price. It's a two-hour dinner, of which exactly 12 minutes are entertainment. That's it. Each course is introduced by a small animated chef, but this mini animation lasts no longer than 3 minutes. During the meal the projection remains, but nothing happens anymore. No stories are told. No jokes - in short: you stay far below your possibilities. The only nice thing about the evening was my children's friends. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, really anyone. Watch the videos and save the money. As soon as Disney or an American company addresses this issue, things will be fine. Until then, go to the cinema or stream a nice cartoon, order something to eat or go out for a nice meal afterwards. The sound blares from the projector's cheap speakers. What's also really cheap is that the music runs on a continuous loop, repeating a song over and over again. For the money, eating isn't fun either. The beef fillet tasted like it came from a steakhouse and the elegance was missing for the price.

Ok but just too expensive for almost 400€ for 2 people.!!

The food was good but rather average. We found the "show" rather cheesy - perhaps only for children. We found the price for the evening (€370 for 2 people) overpriced. The drinks prices are cheeky: bottle of water €15, cappuccino €8.50, wheat beer €10.50. We will not recommend it.

The evening (Nov. 24) was a bitter disappointment for us: absolutely overpriced, unmotivated service, average food, far too long breaks between courses, no ambience in this breakfast room, which is also signposted as such at the entrance, wrong starter on the Menu card - when we asked, we were told we didn't know why there weren't any new cards! Last but not least, we weren't even asked if we wanted a café or a digestive. All in all: 840 euros for such a service - or rather non-service - for 4 people is an absolute SCANDAL BETTER NOT VISIT

Great experience! Can absolutely recommend it, it was something very special. The food was probably the best we've ever eaten - really, really good. Service is top, show us something different. We were very excited!

The food was average at best and didn't suit our taste. The dessert only looked nice, but was far too sweet and sticky mush. The “show” only consisted of short films that were projected onto the table by a projector in front of the corridors; You can't impress anyone with that anymore. Drinks are outrageously expensive, overall it is absolutely not worth the price (€600 for 3 people).

Mmm, what can we say - the Evenr is probably a highlight in other cities. In Düsseldorf it is presented listlessly and not worth the docs very ambitious price. For anyone who is interested, don't book the meal in Düsseldorf - we were very disappointed

450€ for two, unfortunately not worth the money... Funny idea and also a nice way to pass the time, but in the end what is on offer for the price of a 2-3 star Michelin menu is no better than any good, home-style restaurant around the corner. In addition, €15 per bottle of water and €20 for a gin and tonic presented in an Upper Bavaria long drink glass, demands and reality simply don't match. Too bad.

The food was of good quality, and the waiters were friendly, but the service was inadequate, that is, there hardly was any service. We had to wait incredibly long for our main course, and we did not have a dessert simply because no one was asking us if we wished to have one. We were seated in a quiet corner of the restaurant and they simply kept forgetting about us sitting there. Quite disappointing for a restaurant of this high price level category (for example 15 euro for a bottle of still water...).

Unfortunately the experience was not as expected. The food was OK but not worth the money. We would have been better off going to a star restaurant for the money! Sometimes the food was prepared differently (or had different ingredients) than in the video. The service was nice but the quality was simply poor. Drinks were only available upon request. (This is a 5 star hotel) Many guests sat at the table with empty glasses. And the prices are also very reasonable at €19 for a glass of wine. The advertised videos were also funny but only made up 5% of the time and had super poor music quality. and also penetrating background music from very bad speakers... Our conclusion: Don't fall for the advertising and rather go to a star restaurant or other good restaurant for the money. Costs less and the experience is better. And the “le Petit Chef” part is just not as great as you might think from all the Instagram/Facebook advertising

We were greeted warmly and shown to the table. The room was not very attractively decorated. The chairs were very comfortable, but as is usually the case, they were too low for people over 1.85cm tall. In a row there were 4 tables close together for 2 people each and there were another 4 tables for 4 people each. First you get a card for the aperitifs and drinks and a menu card. The first thing you notice is the extremely expensive drinks prices. An aperitif costs 17-19€. A 0.2l cola 7€ 1 bottle of water 15€… The question about the aperitifs was also the only question about our drink requests during the entire menu!!! The food was brought and with only one course we were told what was on the plate. The dishes were very nicely prepared and tasted very good too! There was 1 menu with meat, 1 menu vegetarian and 1 children's menu. The portions were rather manageable…The animation was nice to take part in. In total, the animation took less than 15 minutes, a maximum of 3 minutes per course. Certainly even more beautiful to look at for children. All in all, a very expensive pleasure that you can have seen, but certainly doesn't have to see... We spent almost €380 for the menu, 2 aperitifs, 1 bottle of water and 1 bottle of non-alcoholic beer 0.33 (which wasn't even cold was…)

At first glance, Le Petit Chef is an experience, unfortunately it quickly becomes clear that only short stories present the food as an illusion and then serve it. The reception was friendly, something we have experienced in all good hotels so far. The room was sober with only the animation on the table. Primarily we booked it with the idea for our child, which was not what a child expected. Too few ideas in the animation and food geared towards children. As a mother it wasn't even important to me, the focus was on the child. The drinks prices were overpriced. My Kirl royal with 24 euros a house number. Of course we still enjoyed the evening for ourselves and ignored it. We would conditionally recommend it. We're not a money box at all, but the price/performance ratio isn't quite right.

We were warmly welcomed and it took some time until we were all seated. I think we'll start the show at 6:30 p.m. It was so cute and the kids really loved it. We were there with two children (6 & 7). We specified 2 children's menus. Unfortunately, the kids got the same food as us adults and didn't eat it :( of course we asked, but just said it was children's menu. Drinks were really expensive. There were 4 of us there and spent around 600 euros. It's an experience definitely worth it!

Die Speisen waren jetzt nicht übermäßig kreativ aber von guter Qualität mein Rinderfilet war viel zu kalt und die Portionen wenig. Das Essen wird bestimmt durch die Präsentation und die war absolut kreativ, witzig und einmalig. In Summe war der Preis etwas zu hoch für das Gesamterlebnis.

Great event, our son himself got a chef's hat and looked like le petit chef himself. We really enjoyed both the food and the show.

It was an experience. We were there with children and everyone watched with amazement and laughter. We had all three menu options: a vegetarian and children's menu and it was really special. The service was very nice and child-friendly :-)

The food was very tasty but for the price I expected more unusual creations. The service was perfect, super friendly staff. There was a bottle of water and an aperitif for free, which is great, but my conclusion: a nice evening but unfortunately far too expensive.
