Le Marrakech in Hamburg is a restaurant that stands out above all for its impressive oriental ambience. It feels like a journey into the world of 1001 Nights - with lavishly decorated rooms, lots of colorful lamps and regular belly dancing. The atmosphere is definitely a highlight and ideal for special occasions or an unusual evening for two or with friends. The restaurant offers a selection of dishes from Moroccan, Syrian and Lebanese cuisine. The mezze platters and tagines are particularly well received. There are lots of vegetarian and vegan options, and the ingredients seem fresh.

First visit, impressive atmosphere but with room for improvement. It was our first time in this restaurant and our first impression was: Wow! The atmosphere is truly extraordinary. We were warmly welcomed, given a nice seat, and the cocktails were creative, tasteful and attractively served. The service also started very positively, with a friendly, attentive waitress politely taking our order. But then unfortunately there were a few points that somewhat clouded our overall impression. The first point of criticism concerns the cutlery: unfortunately the cutlery chosen seems unreasonably simple. For me personally, details such as high-quality cutlery and harmonious glasses are an essential part of the overall experience and contribute significantly to the atmosphere. Another point of criticism: we had barely started with the starter when we were already served the main course. The situation was discussed directly at the table, which seemed unprofessional and made the moment a bit awkward. It later turned out that it wasn't intended for us at all. The food itself was OK, but not outstanding. Because of the great atmosphere I would probably come back for a drink, the ambience is really special. However, in order for the restaurant to become one of my favorite locations in Hamburg and for me to be able to recommend it without reservation, some details would have to be rethought and optimized. That's why I give it 4 out of 5 stars with potential for improvement!!

I deleted and re-wrote my reviews because a lot has happened over the years. On the positive side: The lamb fillet tastes very good and the atmosphere is great and the service is friendly. Regarding the updates: The entire menu has changed, so many dishes are no longer available. For example, there is no longer an appetizer plate to share or the Baba Ganoush. A bitter disappointment for mezze lovers. The side dishes have been changed so that instead of the unique Batata Hara potatoes there is now rice, couscous or fries (!) in a smaller portion. If the drinks were expensive before, this now also applies to the dishes and the price-performance ratio is no longer right. One gets the impression that savings were made here at the expense of quality. We had to wait 50 minutes for our main courses. When asked about this, our food seemed to have been hastily prepared and served. We didn't want certain things due to intolerances, but we ended up getting them anyway. This can backfire badly on allergy sufferers... When you see that there are deep potholes in the parking lot, which were there last year, and you are almost arrogantly reminded of your reservation (several times and with the information that you will have to pay a fine if you cancel on the same day), then you can only wish the operators that they go back to their virtues, because Le Marrakesh lives more on the reputation of bygone days and has lost us as customers. Too bad.

Today was one of those days when it was worth writing a review. Basically, I was really impressed with “Le Marrakech” on my last visit. The food was great, the selection was very authentic/tasty and the atmosphere was absolutely harmonious. That was a little over 2 years ago now. Unfortunately today's visit was absolutely disappointing. Maybe the good things first. The ambience has not changed in recent years. Many products that can still be purchased in the restaurant, an authentic atmosphere and attentive and friendly waiters. However, a lot of things have changed for the negative for me here. The entire map from back then no longer exists. Not a problem in and of itself, but many dishes were completely discontinued, such as the starter platter with various mezes, baba ghanoush. The fact that dishes change sometimes, okay, you try something out, you develop things, all understandable reasons. But the fact that the best and most popular dishes according to Google are being deleted and the large appetizer plate is also being omitted.. why?! Instead, I paid almost €8 for 2 fried “chicken sticks” about 3-4 cm long... I would like to question the quantity and quality for the price. On the other hand, the best main courses such as the lamb fillet with batata harra (roasted potatoes) and the Marrakesh sauce are no longer available. Instead there are “cheap” side dishes like rice, couscous or fries. Another oddity... Potatoes are generally not available as a side dish, but they are available as part of a dish. When I asked for potatoes to replace the mushroom rice, it wasn't possible. Why ?! That's why fries have found their way onto the menu. You especially notice it with the fries...what does this have to do with original Moroccan food? So the price in relation to it no longer really fits. It's absolutely okay that you have to wait longer in the restaurant. While our starters were delivered extremely quickly, the transition from the starter plate to the main course took a good hour. Only when asked did they seem to hastily prepare the dishes. Why do I mention this? After I swapped my mushroom rice for fries for my dish (lamb chops) because I explicitly pointed out that I couldn't eat mushrooms, after what was probably a hasty delivery, no fries came, but the mushroom rice. When we were informed, fries were delivered relatively shortly afterwards. No sauce, no asking, just put the plate down and that was it. After the evening was over, I asked again whether a drink or snack on the house would be possible to compensate for the inconvenience, or whether it would be possible to accommodate the price. I asked the service/kitchen management, but in the end they refused because I was given fries. For me it's not about the discount per se, but rather the way in which you deal with the long waiting time, the wrong delivery and then the simple "drop off and run away" of the fries. I spent over €60 alone and the quality of the lamb chops wasn't premium either, but if I pay €35 for a dish and then get cheap fries in return, then I just expect some consideration. The price/performance ratio is no longer there for me. Premium prices, mixed quality and poor service (related to the management, not the waiter!!) So for me it's definitely not worth another visit because a lot of positive things from back then have been left behind.

The price ratio is no longer appropriate, it becomes more expensive but certain inserts/components are replaced. The price/performance ratio is no longer given. Excessive prices and quality drops. Unfortunately, I'm disappointed and don't like coming here anymore, even though the atmosphere is great. Too bad!

It is said that in the distant days there would be a culinary place in Hamburg that would be worth the trip. Effendi, listen to my travel story about this place of magic and enjoyment, which truly came from the dream of Scheherazade's fairy tales. The address led us to a building that was surprisingly simple, nestled in a residential area and not unlike an old locomotive shed. It seemed as if this place wanted to keep its secret and only reveal it to the searching eyes of its magic. As I crossed the entrance threshold, the intoxicating scent of the Orient wafted towards me. The interior of the room itself was a revelation to the eye. Lanterns in all the colors and splendor of the Orient cast their shadows on walls with mosaics and niches that invited people to linger. However, it wasn't just the eyes that were spoiled here. The senses of taste experienced a wondrous journey from 1001 nights. As soon as I was shown to my seat, an attentive Khādim rushed over and took the order. And then came the food! Tender lamb marinated in secret spices and the couscous as light and airy as clouds and the mezze are a feast for all the senses. When I left this place I was satisfied and will return. May many more nights be illuminated by its splendor!

I've been to Morocco live before and immediately felt like I was transported back there, the best atmosphere. The map is not very large, but that is not a disadvantage. Starter variations are definitely recommended, as are the tagine dishes and the lamb fillet, all super tasty. It's not a bargain, you have to dig a little deeper into your pockets, but you also get the finest quality and two hours of vacation. I will definitely come back. Thank you

You used to be able to buy tiles, lamps and lots of decorations here, but the restaurant area was smaller. Now it's almost just a restaurant where you could buy one or two tea lights. I think it's a shame, it was kind of iconic. Hence star deduction. Apart from that, the food is fantastic, authentic, delicious, lovingly presented.

It is a visual and gustatory experience to eat at Le Marrakesh. We first had the large mezze plate, then a lamb shank each. The lamb shank and especially the sauce are a dream, excellent! The mezze plate and bread are also wonderful. The dessert (pistache with Dubai chocolate) is not good value for money. the service was very friendly, quick and precise. We would eat there again at any time, but the price level is generally reached and shouldn't be more expensive. It is still acceptable.

Atmosphere like in 1001 Nights, very tasty food, super friendly staff - we didn't lack anything

We were there on Easter Sunday. Food is really nothing great, we had the complete menu four times, everything the menu had to offer, three times with lamb and once vegetarian. Mini bowls of dips came as a starter. This should be for four people. The question arises as to what kind of bowls should be used when ordering for two people. There was nothing special about it either. The main course wasn't great either. A bowl of this with a mini piece of salmon. For three people??? Incredible. You always had to look for waiters. We weren't particularly well looked after. It's a shame, it used to be really great there with a greeting at the door, buffet and belly dancing. Unfortunately not anymore. We left just under €350 for four people. Never again. .

The atmosphere is nice, the food is good (if it finds its way to the table), the service is an absolute disaster. We ate from IKEA plates (printed underneath) with cheap, simple cutlery. They probably simply forgot our food order. After the starter nothing came for 1 hour and 40 minutes. The waiters were busy with private conversations. After we complained, a vegetarian dish was on the table within 3 minutes - but we hadn't ordered it. A few minutes later the ordered food arrived. When we then wanted to pay, this was of course also forgotten. Our summary complaint was not answered professionally. We didn't say goodbye either. We won't be coming back. By the way, the store was only half full. How is that supposed to work with additional outdoor dining in the summer?

Unfortunately it has diminished significantly. We had 3 Marrakesh menus with lamb (55 € per person) and one vegetarian (45 € per person). The portions were very small and it wasn't as described that you get something from the entire menu.

We recently dined at Le Marrakech with five people. Basically, the food tasted good and the price for the main courses was also reasonable. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the price-performance ratio of the starter - and that's exactly what left a bad taste in our mouths. We were told that we had to order the starter for all five people - a smaller portion, e.g. B. for two people to share is not possible. We found that alone unusual, but what was served was simply incomprehensible: for a whopping 55 euros we received an appetizer that was intended for two people. Only the number of falafel pieces corresponded to the number of people - everything else on the plate was the exact same size and quantity as we later saw on the restaurant's official Instagram account for a two-person portion. We find that extremely unfair. It can't be the case that the same plate simply has a few extra morsels added to it and then sells for more than twice as much - not to mention that as a guest you don't have the choice of how much you want to order. Because of this experience we will not visit the restaurant again. Solid in taste - yes, but unfortunately with this kind of pricing we don't feel like we're being taken seriously.

The food was delicious, but for some people the portion would not be enough to fill them up. They tried to order more drinks, no one was there, so we had to constantly get up and go to the group to ask them for someone to come to the table because we had drinks and dessert. Unfortunately, it was like that the whole evening and no one came by to ask if everything was ok or if you had a wish. It's just stupid that you brought friends with you and raved about the food, they weren't happy about the staff either, who just stood around. Too bad

Unfortunately not like it used to be. No more buffet as standard. Our table, which was reserved a long time in advance, was set for 7 instead of 6 people as previously ordered. Why? We sat very closely in a niche like a closet. Change not possible. The frequency of asking the service whether anything else was wanted was very high and I found it annoying. The quality of the food is good, but the portions - especially those of the starters - are manageable. Summary: Didn't sit well and mourned the old Le Marrakech.

The ambience is amazing. SERVICE was great, fast and super friendly. The food is a matter of taste, if you like this type of cuisine, this is definitely something for you. We personally liked it. We had the starters mezze platter, then the salmon with tagliatelle and the lamb shank with couscous. It was very tasty. There is a point deduction for the fact that I think the price for the appetizer platter is quite expensive considering the amount you got. Otherwise definitely worth a visit.

The first visit to "Le Marrakech"... The ambience of the restaurant was outstanding. There were two of us there and we chose Mezze Party as a starter, main courses were lamb and chicken skewers. This combination made it difficult for us to finish everything. It was very rich and very, very tasty! I have been to Le Marakkesh repeatedly. Yesterday we were very disappointed. In the past, an order was often forgotten, but the ambience and the food made up for it. This time the menu was significantly shortened, the €9 lemonades (which were otherwise super tasty) tasted so sweet like syrup that you couldn't drink it. The food came before the drinks and was far from the quality of before. Orders were occasionally forgotten this time too. Unfortunately, the decision has been made for us that we will no longer go there. With all understanding for savings etc. That was too much.

An evening from 1001 Nights☄ We were there for the first time. Driving through a residential area, you don't suddenly expect a new world. But here it is. From the outside you are greeted by warm lights and a very special ambience. After we walked through the door, we were in the Orient. There was nothing to indicate that we were in Hamburg, because time suddenly stood still here. There is so much to see and discover, the attention to detail... The food becomes secondary. There is sensory overload, but in a positive sense. A really great place for a special evening. The food is also perfectly prepared and the service is simply great! On the occasion of my birthday, I ordered the 2-course Share it menu with all the trimmings. The atmosphere there is unique anyway... the table was beautifully prepared, starters, main courses and the additional desserts we ordered were delicious, and the service was extremely friendly and accommodating. For a person with lactose intolerance, some lactose-free dishes were also served and for the rest it was explained in detail which of them was lactose-free and which was not. This is truly extraordinary and we have never experienced this in any other restaurant! And all of this at a more than reasonable price-performance ratio. All in all, a totally successful evening, we would love to come back!

We were here for the fourth time today, and unfortunately, it got worse each time. One of our meals was cold. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get a member of staff to pay attention to us, so the food was eaten cold so as not to spoil everyone's evening by someone constantly fighting for the attention of the wait staff. And afterwards, we were offered a hot drink as compensation, and then—after we didn't want that—a round of Aperol Spritz. But we didn't feel like staying any longer. In the end, they gave us two drinks we already had for free. The selection was limited, and the prices for the equally limited portions were quite steep. You also get a basket of dry bread, and if you want a dip, you have to pay extra for it. Not nice. All in all, unfortunately, it's just okay.

Overall, a good choice for Moroccan cuisine lovers. The menu offers a nice selection of traditional Moroccan dishes. The spices are well balanced and the ingredients taste fresh. The inviting ambience and friendly service complete the experience.

In order: Great parking lot, but how do you get to the restaurant from there? Great entrance, you can buy nice things inside, great atmosphere. Ordering food is easy and nice... unfortunately there is a waiter structure here: order/pay waiters, delivery waiters, and clear-up ladies (who roam through the restaurant like sharks and then suddenly grab empty plates) After the meal we had to hold on to a waiter's arm so that someone would come and pay the cash. All in all € 115 for two people (drinks: water/spritzer) with mediocre food, way too expensive, the Vietnamese have delicious food for 4 people!

Very nice evening but with weaknesses at the end. The food and ambience are outstanding. The belly dance show is drowned out by a poorly tuned music system but is otherwise actually quite nice. Drink prices are at the upper limit (-1 star). Things get weak when paying. Tables may only be paid together (if there are 10 people at the table) and only EC cards are accepted. Credit cards not (-1 star). Unfortunately, this is very weak and really creates a lot of work for the customer!!!

There were 9 of us, one meal was completely forgotten and it took forever to be delivered and another meal was wrong. Four of us ate at LE MARRAKECH. The atmosphere is simply great and unique. We ordered different dishes and drinks. The mezze party as a starter for everyone was really tasty and very well seasoned. The lamb shank tagine was very tasty and the meat fell off the bone. It was very flavorful without being overly spicy. The couscous on the side had a slight hint of cinnamon and went very well. The chicken dishes were also very tasty and not dry. The desserts are definitely recommended and definitely something different. Overall, a very great evening with really good food and very friendly and attentive service. In addition to eating, you can also do some shopping!

In the dirty entrance area you are greeted by two completely overflowing ashtrays. Ice-cold starters, warmed bread from the day before, roasted potatoes lukewarm and warmed up. The food tasteless. For three small cauliflower florets, some salad and lukewarm potatoes €17.50 is quite expensive. my wife had the chicken skewers which were also lukewarm and really well cooked. There was such loud music playing all the time, it was incredibly annoying.

If several people make a reservation, the number of portions will be reduced. A bit chaotic and not a good overview of how many people are involved in a plate. When you asked, you were cut off!

A significant negative point was the service. While some waiters tried their best, the waitress assigned to us was an absolute disaster. Your rude and disrespectful behavior has negatively affected the entire atmosphere. The lowest point was reached when we asked to pack our food - instead of taking it for us, she just brought us a bowl and a bag and carelessly threw them on the table. Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable in the catering industry. When we politely wished her a nice evening at the end, she reacted hesitantly and only replied with an emotionless “also”. The overall atmosphere is pleasant and harmonious. On the positive side, there are plenty of parking spaces, which makes getting there easier. However, I unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant due to the unreasonable prices and poor service.

The starter consisted of dips and dry, not fresh flatbread, but the price was not appropriate. The main course of lamb, however, was very good. However, the Pistachio & Cream dessert was terrible. Rock hard and only tasted like the fatty glaze that was way too thick. The ambience is quite nice but the flair you expect doesn't come across. There is no music playing in the background, very uncomfortable chairs and it feels more like mass processing. It's a real shame because the basic idea of ​​the concept isn't bad.

Every visit to Le Marrakech is simply a small experience in itself. It is simply enchanting from the moment you arrive and has a magic all its own. With great attention to detail and an incredible amount of aesthetically perfectly coordinated decoration, you have the feeling of being away from Hamburg for a few hours. However, later on the invoice there were items that we had not ordered. Service staff argue in front of the guests. Everything very functional and loveless. The starter creams ("Mezze Party") taste bland, and the dry bread that has apparently been rebaked several times is not recommended. The amount for 11 per person is tiny. On the other hand, we enjoyed the main courses, which added a little something to the table. However, we wouldn't dare visit again.

The staff also contribute a lot to the positive experience - warm, attentive and with genuine hospitality. If you're looking for aromatic spices, fresh ingredients and a special flair, you shouldn't miss a visit!

The mix of local and? Furniture store? fits the topic well, you have to get involved with it. However, it pulled like a glove, and the chairs are minimalist. The food was very tasty, but unfortunately only standards are served, especially when it comes to mezze. And especially if you take the Share-it menu, at 45€/person it is 8-10 euros too expensive for the “micro portions” if, for example. B. in the salmon tajine there is hardly enough to offer everyone a bite of fish. Quality, big city and inflation no longer help as a reason, people just take it with them... The service was excellent, friendly and fast despite the full house, and you hope that the tip actually goes through to the people. Next time I would opt for a starter/main course and see if the price-performance ratio is better.

We had to wait over half an hour for food, then cold food arrived

We were there for the first time yesterday and had high expectations. BUT the food was nothing special and simply overpriced. Some of the waiters didn't know what they were being asked and we were served raw chicken... there are other better places

I recommend, hot, fresh and tasty food. It's worth trying and visiting again.

Anyone who likes the concept will feel very comfortable. Nevertheless, in my opinion, the price-performance ratio should be adjusted to the quality of the food. Continued success.

Food was really great. The price is a little higher, but you don't want a waiter in a jogging suit. Not really appropriate. Otherwise a really nice visit with a chic oriental atmosphere

A culinary journey... It was fantastic

I had high expectations for Marrakech, unfortunately I was disappointed with the food. The chicken shish kebab was not marinated, which resulted in it being slightly seasoned on the outside but tasteless on the inside. I definitely expected more for the price. The side dishes mainly consisted of a large portion of salad, which was fresh but not particularly exciting - only the sauce on the salad was really a heavenly bright spot. The side dish, a small portion of fried potatoes, was okay, but far too little and - despite a little salt - unfortunately not seasoned either. Considering the small quantity, the price is simply disproportionately high, which even the beautiful ambience couldn't make up for. The service, however, was excellent. The staff were always friendly and created a pleasant atmosphere with their smiles. The ambience of the restaurant is really appealing. However, the tables are a bit uncomfortable for taller people as the table's stability support sits very low and allowed it to rest directly on my legs. In addition, the foil on the tables was partially damaged, which affected the overall impression - possibly due to hot plates or other influences. The small seating offers less comfort, but I've experienced worse in other restaurants. In summary, I rate the food 2 out of 5 stars because it was just too standardized. The ambience, on the other hand, gets 5 out of 5 stars. So overall I give Marrakech 3 out of 5 stars. I really hoped for more.

Was in this restaurant again today after 15 years. The food is still very tasty. Otherwise, like everywhere else, everything changes. I would say it's a new owner. The ambience used to be the biggest woe effect I've ever had for a restaurant. Now it's a backyard that's full of everything. Everything is beautiful inside. So inside great and outside great. Clean up, dear ones, and make everything beautiful again. Then you will feel very comfortable as a guest right from the start.

The round tables for two are a bit too small, so a lot of things were always on the verge of falling down and I found the lighting a little too dark, but very comfortable. The cocktails aren't a burner but just okay. Food and service was very good. I'll be back!

Very good address. Easy reservation including online. The atmosphere is friendly and the decor is very souk. We are in a complete change of scenery when we walk through the door. With the meal, the "couscous" is good, but it is not couscous. The meat was excellent! The (fast) service could be improved. There was even a waiter in a tracksuit... A little expensive for this type of meal but worth trying again with tagine.

The food was incredibly tasty, super authentic and made us feel like we were on a short vacation to Marrakesh for a moment. The service was great and very attentive - just perfect. A special highlight was the surprise for my husband's birthday: the dessert came with a sparkler and "Happy Birthday" was sung - a very warm gesture.

Super nice restaurant (ambience) and good parking. The food is good, but the prices are very high. The service is nice, but when it's very busy you sometimes have to wait a long time for someone to come.

Just beautiful. The ambience is like a little journey. Since products are also sold on site, you have a bit of the feeling that you are sitting and eating in a restaurant on the edge of a bazaar. The food is delicious, although not the cheapest in terms of price. But worth the money. We were here for the Christmas party. Next time date night with my husband 😀

Beautiful, quiet location like from 1001 Nights. The meat tagines were delicious, the lamb was very tender. For the mezze, I would have liked something fresher and more vegetable. Very large store, lots of staff, everyone very friendly and attentive. Authentic atmosphere, also thanks to the colorful audience. Nice place.
