Le Bistro Mauk in Oberursel (Taunus)

5.99€ for a cappuccino, are you still okay?!

We went to Mauk Bistro both on the ninth of March and the week before. Unfortunately, I can't rate the food because we didn't get to eat the first time because we were pointed out as rudely as possible about the obvious sign (picture attached below 😂) that food is only available from 12 o'clock and had the feeling that there was a desire to discuss behind the counter. I'm waiting for the second meal with a bad feeling in my stomach. The staff working there is second to none. Especially the lady with black hair. I can only agree with other commenters, the lady is now more than just unfriendly. I experienced this once a year ago. Perhaps appropriate training or another profession would be the right solution. Update: food just arrived, nothing to be treated like that for. It's a massive shame because the bistro itself is quite nice.

Small kitchen, big selection. I find it amazing what's conjured up fresh every day in this small kitchen. The staff always work hard and give their best. I can't confirm the negative reviews from previous reviewers. I eat there at least once a week (not breakfast, but lunch and/or cake) and I'm always satisfied. The prices are very reasonable, the ambiance is nice (except for the screaming children from the ball pit...), and the food is delicious. The staff also eat there regularly, which is a testament to the good and clean kitchen. I will continue to eat there regularly; the price/performance ratio is good.

The food and atmosphere are very good and pleasant. However, the waitress with the black curly hair is incredibly unfriendly and completely unsuitable for the job! She's always annoyed every single day!! Everyone else is friendly.

I was very disappointed with Le bistro Mauk Oberursel. We were there on July 13, 2023 at around 10:45 a.m. When my wife and I wanted the large breakfast, the staff didn't explain what the options were. They barely spoke except for how much it cost. Instead, the two ladies chatted about how one was on vacation the next week and the other the week after that. Then, after paying, the older blond-haired waitress simply went into the kitchen. I then asked the black-haired colleague what the option was with the side dishes and what the options were. She yelled at me that there were four side dishes to choose from and that I should look at the menu. Then the blond-haired lady came over and told us that we had to tell her what we wanted. I asked again which side dishes they were. The menu didn't say what the options were. After all, it was advertised as having four side dishes to choose from. I was then told what the option was with an eye roll at my colleague. From that moment on I actually wanted to leave. Sorry, but these staff are incapable of doing this job. They can't deal with people. I found it so unpleasant that such frustrated staff were preparing my food. Then the blonde-haired server asked me why I didn't pick up my orange juice. I replied that I couldn't just snatch a glass from the counter and that she would have to let me know. I won't recommend this bistro to anyone as long as staff like that work at mauk. It can't be that difficult to explain to guests what's on offer alongside making sandwiches, otherwise I can do it myself. Even when we put the trays back, we were stared at angrily. No goodbye, no hospitality. I wouldn't recommend Le Bistro to anyone in my circle.

It was good. Unfortunately, the big breakfast only included one roll, and apparently no choice of type. The service was very unfriendly/rude. I wouldn't recommend it...

The selection is limited, but decent. We had a baguette and a slice of cake. It's a shame the baguettes aren't freshly made. The balcony is a nice place to sit outside, but there's not much space.
