Great restaurant at the starting point of numerous tours in the Taunus. Food is very tasty, large beer garden, but even during the week you have to be lucky to find a place. In terms of price, it's in the upper segment, and there aren't enough service staff for the rush. The beer comes from the “Alt Oberurserler” brewery, very tasty. “Taunus Die Höhe” tourist information office in the same building.

Simply great food in a very good location and great quality. It was a homemade meatball with fried potatoes. Next time Schnitzel with chanterelles is no longer recommended, everything is too fatty and too expensive. With a drink for 2 people €60.20. What a shame.

Stopped here after the bike tour around the Feldberg to replenish the calories we burned. The fried eggs with fried potatoes were not spectacular, but tasted good. The portion of fried potatoes was absolutely sufficient, although a little too oily. The sheet cake (cheesecake with tangerine) was very, very tasty. The coffee with it, too. The prices are normal for the region. Everything within the framework. The young lady in service outside was super nice and friendly, didn't seem stressed and did her job really well, despite the mid-summer temperatures. We'll be back after our next tour. 👍🏼

Great restaurant. Reservations are good. Otherwise it is difficult to get a place. Food is tasty, but not cheap.

A ray of hope in the catering industry: you can get a table without a reservation, the food (rösti, salmon and salad) is extremely tasty and beautifully decorated, the atmosphere is great, hiking trails and parking spaces right in front of the door, the waiter is competent, friendly and quick. Keep it up!!!

Hiking break of the most beautiful kind. Mega delicious hand cheese with music (three kinds) and Äppler. Preferably outside when the weather is nice. Even a small rain shower doesn't matter - the big umbrellas protect you ;). Also nice for families with and without dogs.

We were there on Sunday at lunchtime (12 ooh) without reservation. There were still about 20 seats. We were served quickly and the food and drink came very quickly. Unfortunately there is no motorcycle parking space.

We felt very comfortable. After a hike we returned. Reserved in advance. The forest mushroom schnitzel was very tasty. But other dishes also looked good. Very hard-working service, at least the lady who served us. The top hammer is the beer. It ended at 10 p.m., but that was enough for us. Highly recommended. We will be back.

We were there on Monday lunchtime, not much going on. Maybe that's why the service was a bit under- or overwhelmed. Bread with the salad was forgotten twice. The prices were way too high for what was on the plate. We had a salad with fried mushrooms for 17.40 (tasted good, but not enough to fill you up and 1 slice (!) of bread only after repeated requests) and the Frankfurter Schnitzel for 21.10€. The fried potatoes and green sauce were good, but about half of what you get in other places for €16-18. The two small schnitzels of the same shape looked and tasted like ready-made food. More breading than meat. Horribly loud inside when it's full. We sat outside in the sun. That was nice. Why can't well-located excursion restaurants in the Frankfurt area also impress with their quality and price-PERFORMANCE? Isn’t it possible in the Palatinate and Bavaria too?

We've eaten there twice so far and sat inside and outside. The restaurant is beautifully located on the edge of the forest. The food is very good and the staff is extremely friendly. The prices are high, but in my opinion they correspond to the current situation. We will be back definitely.

Beer tastes good but the food leaves a lot to be desired

Always a pleasure, for example after a trip to the large Feldberg. Fries are super tasty and when the weather is nice they are best served with a wheat outside.

The Waldtraut is a top location. Unless the weather is bad, a reservation is particularly useful. I was there on a rainy day and it was still busy, so I ate with my companion on the terrace and didn't get wet. The food was super tasty and absolutely worth the price paid. Due to its location on 2 hiking routes, there are also many hikers as guests. I only saw happy faces from these guests after visiting the restaurant. Topic about people with disabilities: The restaurant “Das Waldtraut” is suitable for people with disabilities. It doesn't matter whether the ailments are physical or psychological, as long as you treat the staff kindly. When I informed about my handicap, I was kindly asked how they could help me better and what they should pay more attention to. My wishes were taken into account and I got the help I needed. If you can't eat everything, please point this out to the staff when you order and they will take this into consideration. Because of the medication I was taking at the time, I was not allowed to consume any products containing grapefruit or alcohol. In addition, it was unclear at the time whether I would be able to tolerate salmon and dishes fried/cooked with salmon again. This was taken into account by mentioning this when ordering.

Incredibly rude. We ordered a potato soup and 30 seconds later (!) realized it had cream which my wife can’t take, we inmediately told the waiter (Matthias) he said it couldn’t be changed (???) because the order was already in the kitchen. Of course he was not willing to walk 10 meters and even ask. A pity that a nice place is run without any minimum customer care.

Service was quick and very nice and attentive. Salad was great. Only schnitzel was frozen. For €21 I would have liked a hand-tapped one.

Very nice atmosphere outside and inside and thanks to the quick service, the food is usually on the table quite quickly - even if it is sometimes fuller when the hiking weather is nice. There's actually something for everyone and really tasty too! We always enjoy coming back.

The Waltraud is one of my favorite places in the Taunus. When the weather is nice it is twice as nice.

We live in the neighborhood and really enjoy eating there. It's especially nice when all the day hikers have left again 😀. The Handkäs with three kinds of onions is particularly recommended. Plus an Äppler and nice table neighbors. Service is always very friendly. Dogs are also welcome.

The restaurant is very busy on a Wednesday lunchtime. The atmosphere is really nice here too. Unfortunately the staff seems very stressed and not very friendly.

Great food... nice atmosphere... service staff are super nice and friendly when the shop is busy it can take a while... BUT the service staff do everything to your satisfaction and you can clearly see and hear that.

It was a very nice and delicious lunch. The service was very nice and quick. The ambience is nice but not stylish or similar. It's not bad, it's just not a restaurant for a quiet, classic meal.

Well-attended taproom. Thanks to a reservation, we sat on the edge; in the middle of it all, it might have been too loud for me to have a conversation. Food tasted delicious. Portion okay to just enough, I've had larger ones at the Brauhaus and Wäldches for the same price. The accompanying side salad was better than in the other two locations and the dressing with raspberry vinegar was great. The service was attentive and very friendly. If you like German cuisine, you're in good hands there. We'll definitely come back again in the summer to sit outside

We were there spontaneously for lunch on a Sunday and were seated at a long table with other guests. Luckily we had chairs with backs and no stools. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that great, the children didn't like the spaetzle with sauce and my fried potatoes were extremely oily. We also told the waitress this. It was okay, we'll definitely come back if we happen to hike there etc. But I wouldn't go there specifically for that reason. There are tastier food and cozy restaurants nearby.

If you come without a reservation, you will be told that you should reserve in advance. However, short-term reservations are not possible. Never again!!

Unfortunately the trout smelled and tasted musty, something like that shouldn't happen! The venison bratwurst with kale, on the other hand, was delicious.

Well located at the Taunus hiking information center. Seating inside and outside. Ambiance is quite good, could be more comfortable, but is designed to be more practical. Still suitable, it's best to reserve on the weekend. Food selection is okay, seasonal promotions, prices are okay, not cheap, but understandable given the location. There is a climbing wall outside and there is also a diaper changing room in the basement. All in all, highly recommended.

Very good cuisine at the foot of the Feldberg. Very popular with hikers and families. Top location near the subway and large parking lot. But: the ambience doesn't match the fairly high prices at all. You sit shoulder to shoulder at long tables like in the subway. Very annoying: the popular barometer is only accepted with protest or not at all. Here: Single on weekdays and the top one on Sunday. Then don't take part in this program if you don't want to. You drive half an hour to listen to half-baked references to non-existent terms and conditions. Tip: go straight to the brewery in Oberursel. Everything is fine here.

Nice restaurant, nice service. We were a large group on a jam-packed Sunday and it was all relatively short wait times. The food is really good. A little more expensive than I would otherwise pay (I think 16 or 17 euros for bread dumplings is a lot), but Waldtraut also has a certain monopoly position. Visually the restaurant reminds me of a ski hut, that's nothing negative. But food is nothing like a ski hut. That's nothing negative either. Dogs were also welcome, there is a play area for children and there is even a vegetarian children's meal instead of just chicken nuggets.

Extrem teuer, lohnt sich nicht zu kommen

Staff: Unfortunately unfriendly if you are there with children. Food: Potatoes weren't cooked. Minced steak had a consistency that was too soft. Schnitzel was good.

Auch hier gehen wir immer wieder gerne hin, im Sommer kann man sehr schön draußen sitzen. Abends bzw am Wochenende ist eine Reservierung zu empfehlen.

Gut gelegen. Essen war überdurchschnittlich gut und auch die Auswahl sorgfältig ausgewählt. Super sympathischer Service. Lediglich das Ambiente, war durchschnittlich. Tut einem oder auch mehreren besuchen nichts ab. Würde immer wieder dort hin gehen.

Super leckeres Essen (Kaiserschmarrn unbedingt probieren) und sehr aufmerksame und nette Mitarbeiter! Nach einem schönen Spaziergang im Taunus lohnt sich die Einkehr dort auf jeden Fall!

Katastrophe: Der schlechte Cheeseburger liegt mir immer noch im Magen, die pulled Gans war auch nicht lecker, niemand unserer 6 Gäste fand sein Gericht gut. Schade - einzig die Lage ist gut: Tolle Möglichkeit zum Einkehren nach der Wanderung im Taunus.

Sehr freundlicher aufmerksamer Service. Alle 3 Gerichte, Käsespätzle, veganer Burger und Schnitzel waren lecker. Und der Kaiserschmarrn. .... unbeschreiblich lecker und fast keine Rosinen, dafür aber mit lecker Mandeln. Also danke, empfehlenswert.

Getränke waren gut, das Essen konnten wir nie probieren, da wir von den Bedienungen konstant ignoriert wurden nachdem wir die Getränke erhalten haben. Nach 45 Minuten haben wir die Getränke bezahlt (was eine challenge in sich war) und sind gegangen. Möglicherweise lag es daran dass viel los war, aber dennoch recht enttäuschend. Wir sind stattdessen in das Koreanische Restaurant nebenan gegangen, welches ich voll empfehlen kann.

Food, service and resturant is always 👌. I recently has the potatoe soup with sausage and it was so delicious.

tolles Restaurant, tolles Essen

Wir waren früher oft im Waldtraut. Nun wollten wir nach Jahren mal wieder mit unseren Kindern im Waldtraut essen, aber das Essen enttäuschte massiv. Wir bestellten 2 Kinderteller (je knapp 8€) mit Chicken Nuggets + Pommes für die Kleinen. Leider eine starke Enttäuschung. Die Nuggets bestanden gefühlt nur es öligem Mehl, Fleisch war kaum zu schmecken. Die Pommes schmeckten ebenso komplett nach Öl. Beides war von minderer Qualität und eine pure Enttäuschung. Jeder Tiefkühl-Nugget vom Discounter wäre besser gewesen; wirklich sehr schade. Den Servicekräften war es sichtlich unangenehm, dem Schichtleiter / Küchenchef aber egal. Wir kommen leider nicht mehr wieder. Schlechter & teurer kann man einen Kinderteller kaum gestalten. Von Einsicht keine Spur. Ps Die Servicekräfte waren sehr nett. Wenn das Essen & die Leitung aber schlecht sind, müssen wir leider auch eine schlechte Bewertung vergeben.

Essen war sehr lecker und der Service ist auch top.

Wir waren gestern Abend nach längerer Zeit mal wieder im Waldtraut und es war wie immer schön. Nur unser geliebter Handkäs mit dreierlei Zwiebeln hatte nicht mehr ganz die Klasse früherer Tage. Diese "Musik" aus Kürbiskernöl (?) und irgendeinem grünen Pesto (?) war es gestern leider nicht, irgendwas fehlte. Aber das lässt sich ja sicher wieder ändern, gelle? :-) Der Kaiserschmarrn war dafür klasse. Bis bald mal wieder.

Wir waren mit Freunden hier zu Gast. Es hat uns rundum gut gefallen.

Schön eingerichtetes Restaurant. Perfekt für ein Essen vor oder nach dem Wandern. Tolles Essen und gute Preise. Sehr nette Bedienung. Tolle Burger und Braten und auch tolles vegetarisches. Mein Favorit ist der Wildschweinburger. Siehe Foto.

Wir haben uns nach einer kleinen Wanderung draußen hingesetzt und wollten nur ein Bier trinken und Bratkartoffeln essen. Sehr freundlicher und zuvorkommender Service, gutes Essen (Die Gerichte auf den Nachbartischen sahen gut aus und schienen zu schmecken), gutes Bier aus dem Oberurseler Brauhaus und Ebbelwoi auch aus Oberursel. Trotz der etwas "touristischen" Preise werden wir wiederkommen.

Schöne Location mit etwas gehobeneren Preisen und eher nicht so großen, dafür leckeren Portionen. Kaffee und Kuchen waren super.

Wir haben trotz Andrang einen Platz bekommen und eine hervorragende Kürbissuppe gegessen.

Wäre schön, wenn die Website ein Impressum enthalten würde, so wie es Pflicht ist. Dann wüsste man auch , mit wem man es zu tun hat.

Es ist und bleibt ein Ausflugslokal (Ambiente), aber der Service und das Essen sind echt gut. Wir gehen gerne hin und lieben auch die Saisonale Karte. Weiter so!

Schöne Lage. Essen und Trinken zu teuer bzw Preis-Leistung fragwürdig

Schönes Lokal, direkt am Start und Endpunkt einiger Wanderwege im Taunus. Ein schönes großer Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür ist vorhanden. Besonders am Wochenende unbedingt vorher einen Tisch reservieren. Die Essensauswahl ist sehr lecker und für jeden sollte es etwas geben, auch für Vegetarier und Veganer gibt es auf der Karte etwas. Außerdem ist auch eine kleine saisonale Karte vorhanden. Zum Zeitpunkt des Besuchs, gab es eine Auswahl von Kürbisgerichten. Die Bedienung war aufmerksam und nett. Toiletten obwohl es gut besucht war, sauber . Kann das Waldtraut auf jeden Fall empfehlen.

Wunderschöne Lage, gemütliche Atmosphäre, gutes Essen, freundliche Bedienung. Das Restaurant hat einen Innen- und Außenbereich. Nach einem Spaziergang oder einer Wanderung, im angrenzendem Wald, ist eine Pause in der Waltraud fast schon ein muss. Lediglich die Öffnungszeiten bis 22 Uhr könnte um 1 Stunde länger sein.

Schade. Der Zwetschgenkuchen vom Bäcker entpuppte sich als altbackener, zusammengesackter Kuchen direkt aus dem Kühlschrank. Frische und Qualität war das nicht. Dafür auch noch über 4 Euro zu nehmen wird dem überhaupt nicht gerecht. Zumindest war die Kellnerin schnell und freundlich

Waren vor einer Wanderung mit der Familie eingekehrt und hatten zum Glück reserviert. Kinderstühle sind vorhanden. Kleine Karte mit Schnitzel, Spätzle etc. Auch Kindergerichte gibt es. Service war sehr nett und zügig. Essen war lecker, Preise fair. Gerne wieder. Parkplatzsituation schwierig am Wochenende.
