Absolute excellence! During a weekend in Berlin, we came here two evenings in a row because we were so impressed. We ate our way through all the starters and desserts and tried a few cocktails, and everything was a taste experience of the highest quality. We'll be raving about this meal for a long time to come, and if we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely come back.

What a rather strange experience! Given the prices, you'd expect fine dining, but you can't even tell or imagine what's being served. In addition, a totally overloaded service (four employees for two tables of 2 people each). Chic furnishings, but it doesn't make up for anything.

Booked this place specifically for a special New Year’s Eve menu—only to arrive and find out there wasn’t one. The staff had no idea what we were talking about. They also promised a fancy dress code, but apparently, I was the only one who got the memo… Service was fine, and the staff tried their best, but the food was extremely salty. The meat was good—if you do go, that’s the only thing I’d recommend. Overall, not worth it. There are much better restaurants in Berlin for the same price. Wouldn’t recommend.

We were in this restaurant for the first time today before Johann König at the Tempodrom. We liked it very much. It is a gourmet restaurant, which we will certainly welcome more often now. Duck breast was recommended to us by the lovely lady who served us and it was fantastic. We then tried the two desserts and can only rave about them. As the saying goes, quality has its price. Make your own impression of this restaurant. We were initially unsettled because there were one or two “wrong” reviews.

Très belle découverte au sein de l'hôtel dans lequel nous séjournions à Berlin. Cuisine raffinée et délicieuse. Service agréable et au petit soin pour les clients. Par contre gros bémol sur l'eau, quand nous sommes arrivés on nous a proposé de l'eau, quelle surprise quand lors de l'addition vous découvrez la bouteille d'EAU PLATE à 8EUROS.. Il serait important de l'annoncer aux clients avant.

Das Personal ist sehr unfreundlich, deutsch spricht hier niemand. Wir mussten jedes Getränk sofort bezahlen. Das ist mehr als unüblich in einer Hotelbar dieser Preisklasse. Knabberzeug gab es (natürlich) auch nicht. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen!

Really a great restaurant, exceptional food and great atmosphere

Ich war vor ein paar Jahren da , da war es sehr gut. Heute war mir fast schlecht nach dem Essen. Ein kalter Kalamar in einer undefinierbaren weißen Creme , mit ebenfalls kalten Austernpilzen . Bei Nachfragen wurde mir gesagt , das ist eine Vorspeise. Das hätte mir ja die Bedienung von vornherein sagen können als ich eigentlich einen Hauptgang suchte. Auch die Malabicreme war in Rosenwasser ertränkt und hatte eine seltsame Konsistenz. Nein , es war wirklich nicht gut und ich kann dieses Lokal nicht empfehlen. Gut war das Brot und meiner Freundin haben die Lamm Spieße geschmeckt. 130 Euro haben wir hinterlassen , wenn einem danach auch noch schlecht ist und sich ekelt vor dem kalten Kalamar , dann stimmt das Preisleistungsverhaeltnis nicht !

Schöne Atmosphäre, aber überzogene Preise. Blumenkohl bleibt Blumenkohl, auch wenn er lecker/besonders zubereitet wird. Für eine Portion, die ohne Vorspeise definitiv nicht ansatzweise satt gemacht hätte, sind 25 (oder sogar 27?) Euro nicht gerechtfertigt. Aber freundliches Personal, wenn auch größtenteils englischsprachig.

Wir waren im Crowne zur Übernachtung, das Restaurant ist im Hotel und sah auf der Webseite zumindest mal interessant aus. Die für deutsche Verhältnisse recht hohen Preise haben uns nicht abgeschreckt, wir kommen aus Zürich. Pünktlich zu reservierten Zeit sind wir erschienen, wurden an einem Tisch direkt an der Show-Küche abgesetzt und konnten live dem Treiben dort zuschauen. Beim Service haben wir dann, weil etwas knapp mit der Zeit, 5 Items geordert: 3 Getränke und 2 Essen. Auf die Getränke haben wir dann schon eine ganze Weile warten müssen, weswegen wir zwischendrin dachten, allenfalls wäre das Essen früher da.. dann kam als erstes der Wein - der war schonmal falsch. Wurde anstandslos ausgetauscht. Nach knapp 45 Minuten kam dann das Essen. Also dachten wir zumindest, aber leider war eines der Gerichte falsch. Wahrscheinlich sogar das, dem wir die lange Wartezeit zu verdanken hatten. Das Essen wurde dann schnell nachgeliefert, was die Wartezeit noch ärgerlicher machte, und der Fairness halber sei erwähnt, dass wir es nicht zahlen brauchten. Wie geschrieben, sind wir in Zürich hohe Preise gewöhnt. Aber den Blumenkohl mit ein wenig Pesto für 35 Euro anzubieten ist schon sehr selbstbewusst. Denn das war der nicht in seinen Zutaten, noch in seiner Originalität, noch im Geschmackserlebnis wert. Gleiches galt für das andere Gericht. Das Restaurant versucht durch Overselling von recht unspektakulören Speisen, kombiniert mit dem Eindruck von Exklusivität ein Erlebnis zu suggerieren, das offenbar gut bei einem Grossteil der Kundschaft ankommt. Uns wird man dort allerdings nicht noch ein weiteres mal antreffen.

Überraschend leckeres Essen 🤗 Etwas hektisches Personal, aber sehr freundlich. Ein Besuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall!

10/10. Great restaurant if you want something a little better. Service was unfortunately understaffed during our visit, but the focus is on the guys in the freely visible kitchen. You can see that they know their craft. Food tasted great. Tip: Parking at the Holiday Inn for €10 for 5 hours. Just ask at the reception of the Holliday Inn. Attention, I really mean Holiday Inn (5 minutes walk) and not the Crown where the restaurant is located.

The steak which is the most expensive dish came with fries instead of puree without letting us know that the puree was missing. Except for that, the food was great!!

They were extremely helpful and accommodating in providing a gluten free meal for me. Waitress was polite, friendly, professional and knowledgeable on menu items. We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Would go there again when visiting Berlin.

Ich war hier mit meiner Frau zu ihrem Geburtstag. Der Internetseite nach versprach das Restaurant sehr gute Küche. Und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Sicherlich kostet ein Essen ein paar Euro mehr. Aber das war es auch wert. Ich weiß auch nicht wie ich unsere Essen beschreiben soll. Für uns war es ein Mix aus mediterran und arabisch. Ob ich damit richtig liege weiß ich nicht. Auf jeden Fall hat es super geschmeckt. Der Wein dazu war ebenfalls toll. Nebenan ist gleich das Tempodrom. Wenn man zum Konzert will, bietet sich eine Einkehr an. Im gleichen Haus wie das Restaurant ist das Crown Plaza Hotel, wo wir auch geschlafen haben.

Heavily overpriced. Das angebotene Essen ist kochtechnisch wahrlich keine Herausforderung und schlicht zu teuer. Bis zu 16 Euro für ein Glas Wein (0,15 l), wir reden hier nicht von Spitzengewächsen, sind einfach nur unverschaemt. Ambiente ist wie das der Urban Hipster so mag - Industrial chic - ganz o.k. Service nett und bemüht, aber nochmal zum Wein: bei den Preisen würde ich dann gerne noch was dazu hören, was im Glas ist und nicht nur "here is your red wine"Insgesamt: wir kommen nicht wieder.

Locale che offre sia bar sia ristorante. Si trova all'interno del Crowne Plaza ma si può entrare anche direttamente dalla strada. Cucina sperimentale mediterranea con prodotti di buona qualità e ricette innovative ma interessanti. L'unica pecca la mancanza di copricapo per gli chef che essendo nella cucina a vista nel centro del locale vengono osservati per tutto il tempo. Io non ho avuto nessun problema col cibo, anzi l'ho gradito molto, però un cappello da chef sarebbe il minimo per un posto simile. A parte questo "difetto" per il resto è consigliato.

Lo único que le faltó al lugar fue gente. Fuimos en jueves 6 pm y estábamos casi solos. Sin embargo la comida y el servicio es ESPECTACULAR. Conste que iba con mis hijos que algunos no son fáciles de comer. Gran comida mediterránea, tanto las entradas como los platos fuertes una delicia. Y Víctor que nos atendió con mucha paciencia y amabilidad. GRAN LUGAR!!!!

Best meal we've had in Germany, overall an excellent experience. Great vibes and ambiance, excellent and timely service. Food and drinks were amazing, had the Scallops for the main 1st time, Lamb loin 2nd time. Both times visited, I tried different drinks, appetizers, mains, desserts, and drinks - all excellent.

Unfortunately I have to update my experience. Went there again after a long time and this time I was very disappointed. Overpriced might be the best way to describe it. Nothing is completely wrong, but the prices are simply too high.

Absolutely excellent and very memorable meal. Highly recommend the carpaccio and Montblanc for dessert. This meal was one of the highlights of our visit to Berlin.

We stayed near Brandenburg Tor and tried restaurants in different parts of the city over a week’s time. For dinner, Layla’s was our absolute favorite! The host and wait staff were inviting, friendly. Smoked eggplant carpaccio and Scallops were delicious. Delicious use of spices. Our server gave us an extra starter, a new recipe being tried. A delightful dinner!

Not as good as it used to be. Our service changed three times, so we didn't have a consistent point of contact. Our third and final waiter was mediocre, even a bit moody, despite the restaurant being quite empty and us being genuinely friendly. The water glasses were not clean, with streaks and water spots, which was quite surprising. The lamb was mediocre and grainy. Unfortunately, the octopus was also rather average and tough, which is a shame because it used to be excellent. Overall, the food is no longer at the usual standard. German is barely spoken, despite the restaurant being located in the capital of Germany and the website being in German. The restaurant should either provide a heads-up about this or ask customers during the reservation if they speak German or English, so they can be assigned an appropriate service staff. For what Layla aspires to be or claims to be, this was a bit underwhelming overall. It's a pity. Maybe we caught them on a bad day. But maybe the quality has genuinely declined. Overall, it was a disappointing visit.

Food is was nice but nothing special considering the price. The lamb loin was cooked perfectly but very salty.

Superbe expérience dans ce restaurant aux accents méditerranéen. Un cadre ultra moderne avec un bar et une salle de restaurant au milieu de laquelle trône une cuisine ouverte. La carte est courte mais tous les plats sont délicieux. Une mention particulière pour les pains faits maison qui sont un régal. Le service est jeune et dynamique. Bref, une super soirée !

Superb experience in this restaurant with Mediterranean accents. An ultra modern setting with a bar and a restaurant room in the middle of which sits an open kitchen. The menu is short but all the dishes are delicious. A special mention for the homemade breads which are a delight. The service is young and dynamic. In short, a great evening!

For me personally my all time favorite. Value for money is amazing, food options are a bliss and the combination of flavors is magical as well.

Ein tolles Restaurant, eine entspannte Atmosphäre und unglaublich diskretes und hilfsbereites Servicepersonal. - absolut 5 Sterne plus ! Und dennoch hätte ich mir gewünscht, dass die Weinkarte ein wenig besser sortiert gewesen wäre und vor allem das die Auswahl, lediglich ein Glas Wein zu trinken, größer und vielfältiger gewesen wäre. Das Essen war ohne wenn und aber top, aber auch hier fehlte der letzte kleine Step zu vollen 5 Sternen. Ein tolles Essen, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ambiente total runter gerockt und versifft, Papier- Speisekarte fettig und zerknittert, die halbe Weinkarte ausverkauft ( vor allem die bezahlbaren..), Service sehr unfreundlich und unaufmerksam bis frech. Das Essen war noch das beste, wenn auch wie die gesamte Karte im schlechten Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ( Blumenkohl € 35.-). Dazu noch billigste Papier Servietten. Lokal war auch an einem Samstag Abend zur Primetime halbvoll, das Layla ist im crowne-Plaza Hotel integriert, deshalb legt man auch keinen Wert das der Gast nochmal kommt… Insgesamt ein Total Crash !

No recommendation for the Layla Berlin. Ambience rather uncomfortable and far too bright. The service is below ground. There is a small wine list with about 10 wines. The only rosé was probably sold out. In addition to 4 other wines that would be okay in terms of price. In the end, strangely enough, only the more expensive wines are still available. Unfortunately, points are deducted right at the beginning. The waitress quickly changed her mind and was unfriendly and arrogant. There were no refills and we often sat with empty glasses. In a group of 6 we would definitely have consumed more if the service had been more on point. The food was very tasty, we had different dishes to share. The cauliflower in particular was a highlight. Cheers to the kitchen! They do a very good job. At the end when we paid we were charged the full price for bread, even though only half was brought (without spread and olives) - that's not possible! When asked, it was said that the manager wanted the same price for it as for olives and spread. Unfortunately, the service and the ambience spoil the visit, which is why I cannot recommend Layla. And probably not just me, because on a Saturday evening during prime time there were still a lot of tables free. Dear Layla team, that should make you think.
